Tasmanian Wonders 2 Tasmanian Wonders , NSW, Australia, Mar 2017
The tour was well worth doing. AAT Kings were excellent. Everything went off without a hitch. The Tour Guide was a wealth of knowledge and her comments were in lighting. Had a great time.
Worthwhile 1 , Canada, Feb 2017
Great trip overall. Great tour director, Paul Cotterill. Had a fun time visiting the various beach destinations and the in-between sites. I am just disappointed with the Novotel in Cairns where the cleanliness of the pool was not at par and room housekeeping was extremely disappointing (no vacuuming or mopping for three days, tea cups and glasses not washed).
Disappointing Transfer and Accommodations 5 , Ontario, Canada, Feb 2017
We arrived late at night in Melbourne. The transfer took a long time as we had to wait for almost an hour for the van to arrive and then for the driver to negotiate with three different individuals who had no reservations. At the Mercure Welcome Hotel, despite having requested a double bed we ended up in a tiny little room with two single beds, looking read more at a wall. The air conditioner was blasting over the beds and there was no way of controlling it. We were right by the elevators and it was noisy. The city tour was very good but the trip to Philip Island is of dubious value when you have to arrive hours in advance to get a good seat to see the penguins for a few minutes when they are hardly visible in the dark when they come out of the water. The Great Ocean Road trip is "pretty good" but it's a lot of time spent on the coach!
Darwin, Kakadu and Katherine 1 , ACT, Australia, Feb 2017
Once again the AAT Kings Drivers and Guides were excellent. Especially Rob who drove us through the pouring rain from Darwin to Katherine and back and organised alternative transport across a flooded road and phoned ahead to order our meals at the road house. He deserves a medal. The rain did interfere with our plans but every effort was made to read more change things around and offer an alternative. It was really good to see Kakadu in the wet season and although it was disappointing not to be able to stay at the crocodile hotel overnight, we did have a really good day there and we saw a real crocodile. Our guide on that day was also excellent but I can't remember his name. The bus trip to Katherine and back was too much in one day - 700 km - and I wouldn't want to do that again. We enjoyed the stops at the road houses as we met some real characters and the food was very good at Emerald Springs. It was amazing to see the waterfalls at Litchfield Park and this tour was offered in place of our 2nd day at Kakadu. The hotel in Darwin was disappointing, although the reception staff were excellent. It was not a "superior" hotel, which is what we paid for and we had no choice about that.
Superb worry free holiday 2 Tasmanian Wonders , NSW, Australia, Feb 2017
My Tasmanian Wonders Tour with AAT Kings was every thing I desired. Tour Guide Carolyn could not do enough for all 50 on the tour. Her knowledge of Tasmania 's history was very enlightening. Driver Darren...what a great guy and driver. Kept the coach spotless every day. Accommodation and meals definitely no complaints. Will use AAT Kings for future read more coach tours. Lastly Hannah at Global Journeys - I must add how very pleased and hassle free my booking progressed from beginning to receiving my documents well before departure date.
Tasmania at its best 1 Tasmanian Wonders , NSW, Australia, Jan 2017
This was an excellent trip, ticked all the boxes. Both of us having never travelled by coach, always plane or boat thought we would give this a go. Very impressed, certainly converted to this way of travel. The places we were able to visit during the course of our journey simply 'wonderful', totally enjoyable. Would recommend this trip to anyone. read more Our Driver and bus Director outstanding. The manner in which they were able to deliver information throughout the trip was to a very high standard. Both to be complemented on their ability to relate to each of their passengers. Just a well balanced organised tour. Hope to enjoy more of the same in the years to come.
Spectacular & enjoyable Holiday 3 Tasmanian Wonders , NSW, Australia, Jan 2017
Excellent excursions as well as accommodation except one. Tour director commentary and knowledge very professional. Good mix of travelers. Breakfast excellent, and dinners were good. Would have preferred dinners being provided every night. Early morning starts were inconvenient for + 60 year old travellers. Coach steps were too step for older/disable read more travelers. Should recognise requirements and needs of more senior/mature age travelers.
Great trip but a little short. 2 Tassie's East Coast Highlights , VIC, Australia, Jan 2017
Did this trip with my mother and here is my review, I'll try and write it from both my and my mums perspective. It was great to have everything organised and all the little places to visit that you wouldn't think or know to visit yourself. My mum thoroughly enjoyed it and value for money but I thought it was something I could do for $400 cheaper by read more hiring a car and organising myself. However as I mentioned the only downside to this is the knowledge. Our guide and drivers were excellent - 10/10, they knew their stuff and we totally enjoyed the commentary at least every hour of some little thing to look out for while travelling along. This is priceless, even the places to stop off along the way have a story or something to see that you just wouldn't know on your own.

We joined this trip after the others had already started a 'longer' west coast tour and after hearing all they did on the west coast tour this one felt as though it was lacking a little. It seemed to come and go without anything "mind blowing". If i have to be honest all I can remember is Bridestowe Lavender Farm and Port Arthur, and the lavender farm wasn't that exciting either, maybe just by the fact it was a short tour seemed to come and go quickly. Our group and our drivers did everything to integrate us, but the other had already been together for 6 or more days and just as we started getting into it - it ended. If you can afford it I'd recommend doing the whole Tassie tour, I'm pretty sure you wont be disappointed and see all Tassie has to offer.

Staying at the Wrest Point Casino in Hobart made it hard to explore Hobart with my mum. Even the closet supermarket was 1 km away. Finally our AAT Kings coach was awesome very comfortable. Optional excursions were limited but there was one night where everyone went on either Tassie Devils in the wild or penguin parade, EVERYONE thoroughly enjoyed no matter which one they did.

In summary - if moneys and times not an issue its worth doing and going the extra mile and doing the whole Tassie tour. But if your an avid internet user and comfortable using the likes of TripAdvisor and with friends (not necessarily looking to make new friends) you can probably work it out yourself for way cheaper, and this particular tour seems like you could fit more in, in the short time. Once again remembering you will not have an amazing guide! We hired a car after this tour and drove to Cradle Mountain and back to Launceston I was able to find a few small towns with some interesting things to do on the way so its possible. Highly recommend Cradle Mountain (which is not part of this tour but in the whole tour). If your a little bit older this trip (or the full one) will be perfect, again if you can afford it go for longer, with everything organised, amazing guides who know everything and meet a lot of new friends. My mum gave it a 4/5.
A great trip 2 Tassie's East Coast Highlights , NSW, Australia, Jan 2017
We were not aware that this 4 day trip was part of the 10 day Tasmanian Wonders trip. We joined fellow travellers in Launceston. The trip originated in Hobart 6 days earlier and covered the west coast. We were made very welcome by the other travellers and the tour director once we joined them. The tour director located us in the hotel the night before read more and introduced himself and gave us lots of information. Fellow travellers spoke of their previous 6 days being an excellent trip.

We enjoyed every aspect of our tour. Everything went very smoothly including airport transfers and extra nights accommodation before and after the tour. Early mornings, usually 6.30am for breakfast, were a little hard, but understand as there was a lot to cover in the day. Gordon, the tour director, was caring, very friendly and was a wealth of information. We were pleased with the standard of accommodation. We would not hesitate to travel with AAT Kings again and book online with Global Journeys.
Great holiday   7 Southern Wonders , NSW, Australia, Jan 2017
We had a wonderful time! This was our first extended coach tour, as we normally like to do our own thing. AAT Kings were excellent; Mel our tour guide and Rob our driver made the trip memorable. We met and enjoyed the company of many fellow travellers from around the world and we all had lots of fun together and great memories to share. All the accommodation read more was excellent as well.

The scenery in the South Island of New Zealand is stunning and we miss the freshness and cool temperatures since coming back to the sweltering heat in Sydney. We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday and would love to visit the North Island now, probably how we did this trip - on a coach tour, with AAT Kings and then some time with a car.
Well opganised holiday package 2 Southern Spectacular , New Zealand, Dec 2016
We just returned from a 10 day South Island tour which was a truly amazing. The tour was organised in such a way we did not need to worry about anything, we were in particularly impressed by our tour director who knows so much about what we were seeing and enjoyed his commentary when we were on the road. The accommodation and meal were well selected read more too. The booking through Global Journeys was a quick and trouble free. Highly recommended.
Scenic South Island NZ Tour   3 Southern Wonders , QLD, Australia, Nov 2016
We really enjoyed the tour content, the comfortable coach, the friendly Tour Guide and Coach Driver, and the varied age range and Nationalities of our fellow travellers. The weather was great, not too cold, and mostly sunny days, so a good time of the year for NZ. They day trip to Milford Sound was awesome, again great weather, and the scenery was read more incredible. Another highlight was Lake Tekapo where the lupins in bloom provided an awesome sight. All in all, we saw a lot in 9 days - obviously a longer tour would be even better, however we would certainly recommend this tour for a good insight into the South Island.
Great holiday with new friends 3 Perfect Tasmania , NSW, Australia, Nov 2016
As a new tour traveller the holiday lived up to everything I had hoped for. Tasmania offered beautiful contrasting scenery and historical sites. Tasmanian's understand the contribution of tourism to their economy and were interested in making our holiday enjoyable and informative. Our Tour Guide Margaret was well organised and ready to help with any read more issues while managing to create a friendly atmosphere amongst the travelling group. Always felt safe in the hands of Tom our very capable coach driver, particularly on some of the winding sections of road. Meals offered something for everyone. Very comfortable accommodation. Booking with Global Journeys was easy and efficient. Happy to recommend Global Journeys and AAT Kings.
Wonderful holiday in Tasmania 1 Tasmanian Wonders , Queensland, Australia, Nov 2016
Very happy with the booking process through Global Journeys and the tour itself operated by AAT Kings. No problems experienced with either and exceptional service received.
Adelaide & Kangaroo Island Adventure   3 Remarkable Adelaide to Kangaroo Island , NSW, Australia, Nov 2016
I really enjoyed my stay in Adelaide. The tour showed me lots of different aspects of Adelaide from its churches and cathedrals to the beautiful wineries in the Barossa. Kangaroo Island was stunning and the Aurora Hotel was great. I loved all the fur seals, the sea lions and the koalas. I really loved all the beautiful scenery and the masses of colourful read more flowers everywhere. Especially all the roses. The tour drivers were very informative and looked after us all very well.
I will be going back to Adelaide and Kangaroo lsland again.
Excellent coach tour   3 Tasmanian Wonders , Vic, Australia, Oct 2016
An excellent group of people to travel with. They were considerate of each other and had a good sense of humour. Enjoyed the tour, especially the small towns and the stories about them from the tour guide and driver. There was nothing to worry about. All details were taken care of. The driver and tour guide from AAT Kings were very professional and read more seemed to enjoy what they were doing. Global Journeys was perfect for what I needed and they did a great job of helping me keep track of the booking process. I would travel with either company again. The optional excursions were okay, but just did not appeal to me at the time.
Western Wonderland 10 Western Wonderland , United Kingdom, Oct 2016
We enjoyed the trip, but did find it very tiring, even though we are fairly fit people our ages 72 & 77, we feel we will not do a long coach trip again. If we do decide to do New Zealand, it will be a cruise. As Australia is such a vast country, there is obviously a long distance between each destination, and the scenery basically just bush, wheat fields read more for as far as the eye can see, and again, obviously, the stops can only be at road houses/filling stations. These all provided adequate refreshments.

I have to say, the hotels were not as "flash" as the ones on the APT tour we did previously, but they were OK except for the switch at Margaret River, which was a bit below par. We personally would not recommend the Monkey Mia add on, two long days to get there, and although we did see the Dolphins it was not what we expected, the boat trips, well, perhaps its the weather, but we saw NO wildlife except for a brief glimpse of the Dugong, and the sunset not that special. Then two long days with not a lot to see back to Perth. Hope that's a help.
Wonderful 6 day wilderness Tassie escape 1 Tassie's Wilderness Icons , NSW, Australia, Oct 2016
Beautiful stops on this 6 day trip to iconic places in Tassie. Very efficient helpful knowledgeable driver and tour director. Quite q full coach of 42 people more than what I expected but we managed. Only non positive was the last day optionals which had to be left out as it was in afternoon leaving little time for airport transfer. Loved Cradle mountain read more hotel where the a wallabies and joey came to greet us. Beautiful place and it snowed slightly. Great job overall. Will travel with AAT Kings again
Great trip through Tasmania 1 Tasmanian Wonders , QLD, Australia, Oct 2016
Enjoyed the trip and all the info given by the tour guide, we traveled with a nice group of people and had a lot of fun on the coach. The accommodation and food at the hotels was excellent. Keith our coach driver added a lot of info as well. I will definitely travel with AAT Kings again.
