All Inclusive Croatia   0 , New Zealand, Apr 2025
April/May was a great time to travel through Croatia. The weather was lovely and it was not too busy. We were lucky to have Greg as our guide as he was very knowledgeable and made sure everything ran smoothly. There were many highlights but we especially enjoyed visiting families in their local settings. It gave us a better feel of the real Croatia.
Country Roads of Croatia 4 , VIC, Australia, May 2023
We were happy with the tour albeit Europe is very expensive and will impact on any future travel to Europe, Asia looks more affordable going forward. Insight managed the tours well. The tour director for Greece David Price is the best Tour Director we have ever had. He was very organised, professional and extremely knowledgeable. Insight management read more of both tours were good, but they need to be more transparent with representation of excursion costs. We recommended to Insight name tags for people on the tour as it’s difficult to remember names of 35 people in a short period of time.
Not up to expectations 17 , NSW, Australia, Jun 2019
I was really looking forward to Country Roads of Croatia after doing Country Roads of Portugal last year, which was great. This year there was a noticeable difference in the standard of the Insight tour. We stayed in good hotels but in the cheapest rooms. Some hotels ie Split, were way out of town

Every included meal on the program was a hotel buffet read more except in Korcula where we are in a little restaurant in the old town. It doesn't give you an authentic feel for the destination eating dinner in your hotel. Plus, you get are limited to 2 x 100ml glasses of wine with these meals. (on our Country Roads of Portugal tour, the wine was free flowing). Wine in Croatia is cheap!!

Unless you wanted to pay for the optional excursions, this tour is basically transport, accommodation in the cheapest rooms, and a local guide for a couple of hours at most towns (that you have to tip). The only included activities on the programme were the caves visit, The waterfalls and oyster tasting. (We did another oyster tasting in the same town a couple of weeks later and it was far superior with a lot of food and wine)

We did the first optional excursion in Zagreb thinking we were going to eat in a family home in the country, only to find out it was us and several other bus loads all having dinner in a mass produced commercial environment in the country outside of Zagreb. This turned us off paid optional dinners for the rest of the trip.

I personally hate the add-ons and would prefer to pay more up front and have it included in the programme rather than having a feeling of resentment being that if you don't pay, you miss out on the best bits. You basically HAVE to buy the extras to bring it up to standard expectations. These add-ons cost an extra $1200AU per couple!! Plus the expected top about for tipping is an additional $600AU per couple, making these tours very expensive.

This, along with no name tags or travel documents indicates that Insight are tightening their budget. Others in our group expressed the awkwardness of not knowing each other's names. Insight said it was their no plastic policy, but clearly, name tags can be paper stickers or simply plastic ones recycled.

This will be our last Insight tour.
Amazing trip in Croatia   4 , VIC , Australia, Jun 2019
This trip covers so much beautiful country and coastline. Insight Vacations couldn't do too much to make sure we were catered for. Great way to see Croatia.
Excellent tour   7 , NSW, Australia, Jun 2019
Croatia well exceeded our expectations. We enjoyed every stay, great sights and excellent food. Our tour guide Greg Redfern was full of knowledge and had a true passion for the country. I would highly recommend Insight Vacations and Global Journeys for bookings.
Great overall experience 3 , Auckland, New Zealand, Apr 2019
Although the weather wasn't as perfect as I expected it to be, this Insight Vacations tour was excellent in all other ways. Great tour director and driver, very friendly fellow travellers too. Being the youngest in the group, we felt like we were well looked after.

Croatia is beautiful in general, it’s a good time of the year to visit Croatia as read more it’s not overly crowded, but expect some not-so-great weather (cold and rainy). Booking the tour through Global Journeys has been hassle free and easy. Thanks for the great experience.
Country Roads of Croatia 9 , NSW, Australia, Oct 2018
We thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience of the 14 days Country Roads of Croatia. Definitely happy that we did not go in the peak summer season, as the crowds were still packed. Out Tour Director Irina was amazing and very attentive to all of our needs. Even though we have travelled quite a bit, we were still amazed to see and hear about the lakes read more and waterfalls and the beautiful caves in Slovenia, that we were previously unaware of. Thank you for organising our booking.
Country Roads of Croatia   6 , NSW, Australia, Aug 2018
This tour certainly lived up to its name. We travelled through a great deal of Croatia and experienced much of the culture from the great local foods, excellent wines and demonstrations of local traditions. The beautiful Adriatic Sea was ever present and inviting and the weather was perfect. Our accommodation was of very good quality and the knowledge read more and efficiency of our guide, Greg was invaluable. Only complaint was the hotel in Zagreb (the Sheraton) where everyone on tour felt the welcome dinner and service was a bit sub standard. Optional excursions were great and the included experiences were of a high standard. Would highly recommend this tour as a great way to get to know Croatia.
Exceeded Expectations   7 , NSW, Australia, Jun 2018
Country Roads of Croatia tour exceeded our expectations; Croatia is a beautiful country with much history and beauty. Our Tour Guide Heinz and Coach Driver Dario were professional and excellent in their roles. Heinz was keen to impart as much knowledge and historical facts about areas we covered and made sure every persons needs were met. The optional read more excursions that we took were superb and good value. The tour coverage in itself was extensive and there was ample time to explore on our own. The included meals were of a high standard apart from the final dinner which was a little disappointing but a wonderful ambience.

There were a couple of early starts but the benefits of what we covered outweighed what some may have felt tiring. The travel day into Dubrovnik would be improved by having lunch prior to the walking tour. I would highly recommend travelling with Insight and booking through Global Journeys. Hannah was efficient, informed and professional covering all areas needed for stress free travel. We saved by booking through Global Journeys and at all times were made aware of all details needed to be covered. Thank you Hannah and Global Journeys.
Fabulous Croatia! 8 , NSW, Australia, Sep 2016
A brilliant and inclusive tour all round. Extra tours well worth it. Our tour guide Marijo was brilliant, informative and a passionate Croatian who generously gave his time, information and experience freely. He went above and beyond to help those needing assistance. A real credit to Insight.
