Read 2 reviews and enjoy exclusive savings on Globus 8 Day Best of Norway with Return to Oslo. Deep-blue fjords, breathtaking mountains, glimmering glaciers, and flowing waterfalls… these are natural wonders you expect to see in Norway, and on this Norway tour, you’ll experience all of this and more.

A highlight of this Norway tour is a breathtaking ride on the Flåm railway, one of the world’s most scenic train rides, which passes through 20 tunnels and climbs to an elevation of 2,833 feet (864 meters). Marvel at the hypnotic waterfalls cascading down the side of steep, snowcapped mountains, read more rivers winding through deep gorges; farms on the side of steep slopes, and views of Sognefjord, Norway’s longest fjord.

Travel on the Hardanger National Tourist Road, carefully developed to take you through some of Norway’s most stunning scenery, and stop at Steinsdalsfossen waterfall, where you can walk behind the cascading falls without getting wet.

In addition to breathtaking scenery, Norway also offers you a country steeped in history. In the Middle Ages, Norwegians built churches out of wood. Only 28 of these stave churches now remain in Norway, and in Borgund, you’ll admire one of Norway’s best-preserved stave churches dating back to 1180. Stay two nights in Bergen, founded in 1070, where guided sightseeing features the main sights and a walking tour of Bryggen. From the magnificent scenery to the vibrant cities—including a train ride back to Oslo and an extra night—this tour through Norway will delight all of your senses.

PLUS, your tour includes your choice of excursions in Bergen so you can plan your day your way.

Scenic Norway 3 , QLD, Australia, Jul 2018
This trip was called "Best of Norway" and it certainly didn't disappoint. We were blessed with good weather, which enhanced our appreciation of the natural beauty of this country. There was 'wow' factor every day. Highlights included the Flam Railway trip, the circular drive around the Hardangarfjord, which is the second longest fjord in Norway and read more the rail trip back to Oslo from Bergen. The road was at times high with many hairpin bends, but thanks to the expertise of our driver, Simon, we were able to relax and thoroughly enjoy the incredibly beautiful scenery.

The optional cruise on the Aurlandsfjord, an arm of the Sognefjord (the largest in Norway) at Flam, is a must, especially if the weather is fine and clear. The accommodation was of a high standard. A special treat was a stay at the historic hotel in Ullensvang, which is situated in an idyllic setting between the snow capped mountains (even in summer) and the Hardangerfjord. Another optional tour - a bus trip to the hills behind Oslo, followed by a harbourside dinner, was also well worthwhile.

Be aware that Norway is an extremely expensive place, so I believe this tour is reasonably priced. A lovely touch by Globus was to include a glass of wine on the nights that an evening meal was included. There was a great balance between organised tours and free time. Thanks to our guide, Peter, for his knowledge and courtesy. Top marks Globus for this itinerary and top marks Georgie for her usual efficiency in arranging our booking.
Title is satisfactory 3 , QLD, Australia, Jul 2017
I added this tour to my Cosmos 16 day 'Northern Highlights & Arctic Circle' tour because it visited a part of Norway which was not covered in the Cosmos tour. I thoroughly enjoyed this short Globus tour as it had a good itinerary & visited some very scenic areas of Norway. However, I felt that it was not as good value for money as other Globus tours read more that I have enjoyed over the years. The Hotels ( & included breakfasts & meals) on several nights, were of a very average standard & in my opinion, not as good generally as those I had just experienced on my budget- priced Cosmos tour in the same country. Also the extension, back to Oslo from Bergen, would have been a more pleasurable experience by coach rather than train. The optional excursion from Bergen to the home of Edward Grieg was a real highlight & should be included in future tours.

I have booked several holidays through Global Journeys over past years & always found the company & its representatives to be knowledgeable, efficient & pleasant. I would recommend this company to anyone interested in good value, hassle-free travel arrangements. (GJ: Thanks Barbara!)
