Itinerary

Welcome to Vancouver!

At 6pm, meet your travel companions for a welcome drink. Your Tour Director will prepare you for your upcoming adventure.

British Columbia Treasures

Tour Vancouver, including the waterfront, Chinatown, and Stanley Park with its old-growth evergreen forests and totem poles. The afternoon is free to explore the many attractions at your leisure before dinner at a local restaurant. (B/D)

TOUR HIGHLIGHT - CITY SIGHTS: Created in 1888, Stanley Park is considered the 'crown jewel' of Vancouver. The oldest park in the city of Vancouver, the dramatically beautiful and panoramic setting of Stanley Park spans more than 1000+ acres right next to downtown. Native culture is preserved with a striking collection of First Nations Totem Poles, carved from western red cedar and each carving tells of a real or mythical event illustrating significant meanings – the eagle representing the kingdom of air; the whale as the lord of the sea; and the wolf as the genius of the land – to name a few.

Riding the Rails

Board the Rocky Mountaineer train to follow the Fraser Canyon and Thompson River through beautiful landscapes from Vancouver to historic Kamloops. Tonight, enjoy free time in Kamloops. (B/L)

TOUR HIGHLIGHT - TRAIN SPOTLIGHT: Travel in style aboard the legendary Rocky Mountaineer train service from Vancouver to Kamloops. Ride in style with exceptional service as you take in the panoramic views through your custom-designed glass-dome coach. Snap perfect shots of spectacular landscapes from the comfort of your seat or step out on the outdoor viewing area for a wide-open view. Enjoy Rocky Mountaineer's SilverLeaf service with everything you need and more to experience the majesty of the Rocky Mountains in luxury: panoramic views, delicious meals and beverages brought right to your seat, friendly hosts and miles and miles of memories.

An amazing once in a lifetime trip   1 , QLD, Australia, May 2024
Probably the most luxurious and well run tour you could ever hope to do. If I had one criticism it is that the coach did not cater to the older and more ample framed amongst us, which I found strange as the Japanese coaches (I had just been there) had two rows at the back with double leg room. Mark our tour guide was fun and knowledgeable and everything read more just ran smoothly. We saw lots of wildlife (bears) and the Fairmont Hotels are just out of this world. I cannot thank Global Journeys enough for recommending this tour.
The best way to see the Canadian Rockies! 1 , VIC, Australia, Jul 2023
Our 12 day Globus tour of the Canadian Rockies was excellent! Our Tour Guide (Shelley) and driver (Doug) were real professionals! Rocky Mountaineer and Lake Louise absolute highlights! Fairmont hotels particularly Chateau Lake Louise and Banff Springs Hotel were wonderful!
Rockies tour 3 , VIC, Australia, Aug 2018
We had a wonderful time on the spirt to the Rockies staying in fantastic accommodation. The guide was a local and full of interesting knowledge.
Globus spirit of the Rockies   6 , NSW, Australia, Jul 2018
Everything about this tour was fantastic. Accommodation at the Fairmonts was first class
Our tour guide Anette was exceptional, with her knowledge and attention to detail. My two days on the Rocky Mountaineer train was an incredible experience with extremely professional staff. And of course all the places we went to with such incredible scenery made read more this such a special trip. I would also say that it was very good value for money considering the accommodation and the places visited.
We had a great tour through the Canadian Rockies 6 , QLD, Australia, Jun 2017
We wanted to see the Canadian Rockies and we selected the 12 day Rocky Mountain tour with Globus as it met our wish list of places to visit. This was our very first ever guided tour, we are normally independent travellers. We decided to go with Globus after reviewing a few other companies and chose to use Global Journeys as they offered a good price, read more lower than the Globus catalogue. Global Journeys were extremely easy to deal with and only a phone call away if we had a query. We also chose the tour that provided the majority of our accommodation in Fairmont hotels, these were mostly beautiful, well located hotels.

Our tour was made all the more special by the care and dedication of our guide Mark Love, he was absolutely fabulous. Mark went above and beyond in ensuring every person on the tour, all 37 of us was well cared for. His attention to detail with daily planning was fabulous. We just don't know how he managed to get the snow to fall at exactly the time we visited Medicine Lake. At the lake he shoveled snow to make a path so our shoes wouldn't get too wet. Our coach driver was also a great asset to the tour providing comic relief as well as very safe driving. It also should be said our coach was brand new! Thanks GJ for your attention to detail we certainly had a fabulous journey, one we will remember for a long time.
