Join a local expert to see Stockholm's greatest vistas and attractions, including Gamla Stan (Old Town), Riddarholm Church, the Royal Palace, and the Parliament, on a historic and cultural walking tour. Enjoy a visit inside Stockholm's stunning City Hall, which displays towering brick walls paired with an opulent interior. Explore the Vasa Ship Museum and learn about the vessel's shocking maiden voyage, when it sank in a single nautical mile (the perfectly preserved ship, commissioned in the 1600s by King Vasa, was raised from the bottom of the harbor 334 years later).
This afternoon is yours to explore Stockholm independently. Discover its strikingly colorful architecture and sample its innovative cuisine. (B)
Bid farewell to Stockholm and set off by local train for a relaxing journey to Gothenburg. Take some free time for lunch and explore independently before meeting your local guide for a walking city tour.

This morning, set out into the country to visit Sofiero Palace, once a summer residence of the Swedish royal family.

Join a local expert and set off on an engaging three-hour walking tour of Denmark's capital city. Travel north from Norway's capital to the majestic fjord region. Visit Borgund Stave Church, the intricate structure built in dedication to the Apostle Andrew in 1180. Arrive in the quaint village of Flåm, nestled at the entrance to the stunning Aurlandsfjord, and visit the Railway Museum before settling in for the evening. (B/D) Stay: Fretheim Hotel

- Embark on the perfect day trip from Copenhagen to nearby picturesque Roskilde, the former capital of Denmark. Start your exploration by visiting the Viking Ship Museum on the banks of the Roskilde Fjord. 1000 years ago, these early settlers of Scandinavia sailed along the shores of Europe, up rivers and across the open sea in an era that is now known as the Viking Age. Their specially crafted ships made these journeys possible, and the museum focuses on five original Viking ships that were excavated from the neighboring fjord over 60 years ago. The originals are now exhibited in the museum: learn about the challenges the archeologists were facing and see the reconstructions of the wrecks in the sailing harbor. After the museum, take time to stroll the colorful pedestrian main street and browse the boutiques and cafes. In the afternoon, journey through 800 years of Danish royal history by visiting the UNESCO World Heritage Listed Roskilde Cathedral. With its origins dating back to the 12th century, its many unique royal chapels reflect the changing European architectural styles and serve as the final resting places for 39 monarchs so far. Our guide was a little new at this part of the world, but our local bus driver, Harald, kept her up to date with information. Accommodation was great, especially in Flam and Oslo. One thing we were not aware of is that Collette is an American company, and as such, we were the token Australians on the tour. We love Americans but we also love the homogenous nature of sharing a tour with people from multiple backgrounds, so if you are not American, be prepared for this.
