Recommend Global Journeys and Globus! 1 Italian Mosaic , Australia, Jun 2012
The Italian Mosaic tour was great! I would recommend Global Journeys and Globus!
Alaska exceeded our hopes enormously 1 Spectacular Alaska! with Alaska Cruise , Australia, Jun 2012
We had a Cosmos tour in May to the Grand Canyon and Canyonlands which was fantastic followed by a Globus tour in Alaska with cruise down the Inside Passage to complete the journey. Alaska exceeded our hopes enormously, would recommend to anyone.
Everything else very good 2 Scenic Ireland , Australia, May 2012
I rate the tour and value for money as excellent as it met my expectations. Everything else very good, not because they fell short but am probably comparing with other tours so all in all the experience was close to excellent. Also a big thanks to Georgie. Communication with us and efficiency was excellent. I look forward to dealing with Global Journeys in the future.
Very enjoyable although the pace maybe a little strenuous 4 Portugal in Depth , Australia, May 2012
We wanted to discover Portugal and its history and the tour enabled us to do this: it included all the places we particularly wanted to visit. The tour guide Pedro was very organised and efficient. He was pleasant and amusing, giving us interesting historical explanations as well as describing everyday life in Portugal. We felt in safe hands with Carlos, read more the driver, who was always patient, polite and helpful. All the hotels were comfortable and central. The Mundial in Lisbon was very close to the famous squares of the Baixa and the buses and trams. Although our only disappointment on this tour was the food at the hotel Mundial, where vegetables came out of tins and fresh fish was unknown. Overall, the tour was very enjoyable although the tour pace was maybe a little strenuous for the average age of the participants.
Fantastic holiday 2 A Taste of Ireland and Scotland , Australia, May 2012
Everything that was promised was delivered. Our tour director Julian Cleary was amazing. His knowledge of history was outstanding. We were all treated with respect & dignity. As for Mark, the coach driver, wow, he could manoeuvre that bus anywhere. The only dampener we had was that both of us ended up with the flu, but we were well looked after!
Magnificent tour 2 A Taste of Ireland and Scotland , Australia, May 2012
Well organized, great tour director, would definitely travel with him again. His knowledge patience & great sense of humour were incredible. The coach driver was amazing his knowledge of roads & streets was incredible. Magnificent would & have recommend Global Journeys to our friends. Hope to do a European adventure in the not to distant future.
What a pleasant surprise! 5 Emerald Isle , Australia, May 2012
To be perfectly honest I was not looking forward to doing an organised tour but realised if I was to see Ireland this was the only way for me. What a pleasant surprise I was to have! Right from the start with the welcome from the most amazing tour guide, Liz McKenna, was so warm and then that of meeting my fellow travellers who were all Americans. As read more I was alone and the only Aussie their friendship was warm and wonderful, always making sure I was not sitting or walking alone, unless I wanted to. And let's not forget George, who has to be the best coach driver in Ireland! The way he handled that huge coach down those narrow lanes etc was amazing and one felt so safe with him at the wheel. I left Ireland with a heavy heart, new email friends and full of happiness and with renewed knowledge of the history. My biggest thank you goes to Liz for her friendship, her incredible knowledge of her country and great Irish sense of fun. She was an absolute gem who played an enormous part in trips success for all of us.
Italy was such a beautiful country to visit 4 Italian Mosaic , Australia, May 2012
Italy was such a beautiful country to visit. The Italian Mosaic tour, however was a very mediocre experience. The hotels were generally good with the exception of the Venetian accommodation which though quoted as 4* would only be 1-2* here in Australia. I found the tour guide, though helpful, patronising at times. Sometimes it felt as she was reading read more from a script. No real extra information. Too many Optionals in my opinion. I thought many should have been included as standards. I highly recommend all the Tuscan optionals. Visit to Capri never happened due to industrial stoppage at Capri port. No alternatives offered. This tour was too quick and not enough time to immerse youself in the great culture. Got sick of eating lunch at auto grills. My recommendation would be to break up Italy into smaller 'guided tours' at a slightly slower pace so that you can fully appreciate what Italy really has to offer. By the way, the gelato was to die for - go pistachio or malaga.
Would not hesitate to use Globus again 1 , Australia, May 2012
This tour was very well laid out for the time allotted, I also must give credit to the Tour Director Gert & Bus Driver Marco for their professional yet personal approach to everyone on the tour. Would not hesitate to use Globus again.
Only complaint is that there were only 3-5 Australians on tour 1 Paris, Normandy & Chateaux Country , Australia, May 2012
A very good tour of Normandy, Brittany and the Loire Valley. France and especially Paris were amazing. The people were very helpful especially at the Hotel Concorde Montparnasse. So much history, the museums, the architecture, the culture and gastronomy were to die for. Key highlights included Mont St. Michel, Amboise, Chateau Chambord and Chenonceau. read more Angers has some great artisan shops selling jewellery and tapestries. The WW2 Normandy beaches, especially Omaha Beach were quite moving. My only complaint was that there were only 3-5 Australians on the tour. All the rest were Americans with big opinions.
Recommend this trip to anyone wanting an intro to Europe 3 , Australia, Apr 2012
Comfortable and roomy coach with very friendly fellow travellers and a great tour director and very friendly and capable driver. Hotels were very nice, though I liked the Royal Hotel in Lucerne the best with a view of the Alps from the window. The tours with local guide to key attractions that was included in the tour were very good and I particularly read more liked the use of the headsets so that the guides could be clearly heard, even from across the room. Being part of a group tour saved endless time at the entry to various attractions across Europe. All meals included in the tour or on the optional excursions were of a high standard. Trip was very fast paced but very enjoyable. I would recommend this trip to anyone wanting an introduction to Europe, and intend to book my next trip with Globus tours.
Simply awesome 3 Essential Britain , Australia, Apr 2012
The Essential Britain tour with Globus was simply awesome. The Tour Director Ian Walker and Tom the Driver did a magnificent job. Ian was full of knowledge and provided us with information on both major and trivial points of interest. Meals were very good and the hotels fantastic with the exception of one. Complimentary WiFi would have been good. Highlights read more of the tour would have been Bath, Dartmoor, Chester, the Scottish Highlands especially seeing an F15 jet fighter flying low through the highlands in Glencoe, Loch Lomond, Alnwick Castle and York.
Overall very happy with the tour 1 Iberian Discovery & Morocco , Australia, Apr 2012
Overall very happy with the tour although we would have liked more time in some places and felt some of the destinations were added just for the sake of stretching it out. The costs for additional touring and dinners were, in some cases, excessive and some of these should have been included in the base tour cost. A couple of the dinners were a waste read more of time and money, however shows like the Fado (in Portugal) and Flaminco (in Spain) were excellent and good value.
Very happy with our tour and the service by the staff 5 Essential Britain , Australia, Apr 2012
Thoroughly enjoyed the tour however, it was rushed and there are many places we would have liked to spend more time. But realise that to see all of Great Britain in 10 days is a big ask for any tour operator. Accommodation was excellent, tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and most helpful to all tour participants. Driver was a safe and confident read more driver who did a remarkable job manoeuvring the bus in several difficult turns. We participated in all 'extra excursions' and felt they were all excellent value and offered a variety of social interaction for all guests. We were very happy with our tour and the way we were treated by the staff. Thanks for your assistance in organising the tour, we had a great time and will certainly recommend Global Journeys & Globus to other travellers.
It was extensive and active, a wonderful trip 2 Essential Britain , Australia, Apr 2012
Thoroughly enjoyed the tour. It was extensive and active. We saw most of the highlights of the UK in 11 days. Accommodation was very comfortable, well appointed and conveniently located. We enjoyed the featured events and took the extended tours. All in all it was a wonderful trip.
Our first tour to Europe and we loved it 3 , Australia, Apr 2012
Globus was so organised and our tour guide brought the tour to life for us with his knowledge of the countries we passed through, the history and culture, all with a touch of humour. Yvonne handled our booking very efficiently and any email queries were always promptly answered. I wouldn't hesitate to organise another tour with Global Journeys when read more we plan our next holiday as the tour price was discounted compared to other travel websites and everything went off without a hitch.
It was a fantastic trip 1 Britain Sampler , Australia, Mar 2012
The tour was very fast-paced as it covered a lot of ground in the six days, but that was expected. Both the driver (Mark) and tour guide (Paul) were great. Paul was a fountain of information and nothing was ever too much trouble. Mark's driving was great - able to take alternate routes when necessary. I tend to be a nervous passenger and I've never read more felt so safe! Paul was both entertaining and informative. I would have loved to spend more time at some of the places we visited, but understood the time constraints. It was unfortunate that the tour that would've given me the time I wanted simply was available on the dates I could travel. But all in all - it was a fantastic trip.
Experience with Global Journeys was second to none 2 Britain Sampler , Australia, Feb 2012
Georgie responded to our internet enquiry within 24 hours and came up with some great ideas for our itinerary. The tour was fast paced, but this is what we expected. It is a lot to do in 6 days. Our driver and guide were exceptional and I can't wait to get back to London to do a longer tour. Our experience with Global Journeys was second to none. Nothing read more was too much trouble for Georgie to organise. I can highly recommend Global Journeys to any prospective traveller.
Very good tour, especially for a first time visitor to Spain 3 , Australia, Jan 2012
A very good tour, especially for a first time visitor to Spain. You get to see all the most stunning attractions, completely hassle-free. This is why I always take a bus tour on my first visit to a country. The tour guide, Rui, was unfailingly kind, helpful and informative. The driver, Pedro, was calm and hard working. The hotels were just delightful read more and, a sign of the times, all had adequate wi-fi facilities (every single person/family group on the tour had either a laptop or an iPad). There were about 30 of us on this tour and, despite the diversity of our backgrounds, we were an astonishingly happy and homogeneous group - it was a fun 10 days/9 nights.
This trip is highly recommended! 4 Grand Hawaii Vacation , Australia, Jan 2012
We had a great trip and the weather was perfect. Of course much of the success of the trip is due to the tour company Globus and we were extremely happy with every aspect of the tour. The tour guide, Pam Thompson, was exceptional and looked out for everyone's needs as well as having a great sense of humour. An asset to Globus. A tour like this is definitely read more the way to see all of Hawaii, not just the beaches and coastline. Also learnt lots about the history and culture of Hawaii. We weren't very impressed with Hawaiian Airlines and in hindsight would have opted to fly with Qantas. Thanks for your assistance and yes, this trip is highly recommended!
