A superb part of France   0 , SA, Australia, Jun 2024
The highlights of the tour included Mont St Michel, the magnificent Loire valley castles of Chenonceau and Chambord, Monet's garden, although very crowded, the farewell Seine river cruise dinner, the Normandy landing beaches and Versailles. Globus provided high level accommodation, and I would like to travel with them again in 2025. The tour missed read more out on extreme weather, and even though we were there in late June, did not wear shorts on any day. However, most venues were crowded. Hannah and Global Journeys were efficient, as before, in organising all land travel.
Globus Tour of Normandy, Brittany and the Loire Valley 1 , NSW, Australia, Jul 2018
Great tour which delivered exactly what we wanted. The memories will last for a long time. The visit to Normandy was a real eye opener for us. Mont St Michael was amazing, as was the Loire Valley Chateaux.
Well managed and enjoyable 3 , VIC, Australia, Jul 2015
The hotels in Paris were a very long way from the centre and in fact were barely in Paris itself. Having travelled with Globus before this seems nearly always to be the case and I can understand the difficulties of accommodating large groups. It would have been helpful if local maps of Paris were provided as the areas in which the hotels were situated read more were well outside the official maps of Paris handed out at hotels. On the day we chose not to take the afternoon tour to Versailles we were left to find our own way back to the hotel having been given the name of the Metro station but no directions from there to the hotel. I know that many carry devices which give maps and directions but this should not be assumed. Having visited Paris numerous times I could navigate the transport system easily but for first time visitors this would have been daunting. This is my only 'gripe' as everything else was well managed and enjoyable. I would also suggest that Bayeux be included as an opportunity to see the tapestry should have been available. Perhaps this could have replaced the stop at La Mere Eglise, which has little to offer apart from its significance to the D-Day operations which were amply covered elsewhere.

I have been impressed with the service I received from Global Journeys. In particular I would like to thank Yvonne for your professionalism and attention to detail as everything was managed efficiently and promptly.
Enjoyed the whole trip 2 , Australia, Sep 2014
Overall the tour was excellent. Would have preferred a hotel in Paris closer to the centre of the city. Tour guide and bus driver were both excellent and extremely helpful - a pleasure to travel with. Very impressed with the organisational aspects of the tour - it all went really well. Enjoyed the whole trip.
Small tour group was to our liking 2 , Australia, Apr 2013
Small tour group was to our liking. Vic, the guide, was very knowledgeable but did 'go on' a little too much - however, he was very helpful in attempting to foresee problems and solve them. He also provided information about an attraction in one city that was really only of interest to one of us, but ensured that a visit was made possible. The driver read more was very skillful and careful & also very patient. The other 15 members of the group were friendly and always on time (a rarity in our experience!)
Tour Director was average 3 , Australia, Jul 2012
Accommodation was very good. The Tour Director was average compared to other tours I have been on - somewhat arrogant and could have given more local information about the areas we travelled through, not just the tourists stops.
Only complaint is that there were only 3-5 Australians on tour 1 , Australia, May 2012
A very good tour of Normandy, Brittany and the Loire Valley. France and especially Paris were amazing. The people were very helpful especially at the Hotel Concorde Montparnasse. So much history, the museums, the architecture, the culture and gastronomy were to die for. Key highlights included Mont St. Michel, Amboise, Chateau Chambord and Chenonceau. read more Angers has some great artisan shops selling jewellery and tapestries. The WW2 Normandy beaches, especially Omaha Beach were quite moving. My only complaint was that there were only 3-5 Australians on the tour. All the rest were Americans with big opinions.
