A very well organised trip from Globus. Nice hotels and places we visit. Dining with the Amish family is the highlight for us fellow travelling companions were very friendly. The tour guide and driver were very nice too. Also special thanks to Yvonne from Global Journeys.

We took this tour in the European Autumn and the weather was perfect. Our Tour Guide Yanya was a first rate Guide; very professional and her knowledge was extensive in all areas toured which she delivered with interest, confidence and elegance. All the optional extras that we selected (3) we were very happy with value for money and were given plenty read more of time to discover things on our own. Included meals on Tour were excellent especially Salzburg. All Hotels were what we expected of the standard Globus has and with the exception of Berne were very centrally located. The Coach Driver Zoltan was a very experienced and professional driver and at no time was safety compromised. Our experience with Global Journeys, especially Hannah, was as efficient and professional as had been the case in our other experiences with this company. We will continue to deal with them when travelling in future and recommend them and Globus highly.
Firstly I will mention that this was a trip of last resort for me after several other bookings all failed to eventuate, not all of which had been sourced though Global Journeys. Very appreciative of all GJ's efforts to find a replacement tour that fitted into other travel plans and flight times already arranged in Greece. Tour guide was excellent. So read more knowledgeable and with a passion for the subject matter without overburdening with facts and figures. Always willing to answer any questions and went above and beyond for some travellers requiring extra assistance. Coach driver also excellent. Most other travellers were American in larger friend and family groups which made dynamics a bit unusual. Only one other solo traveller who was also the only other Australian on this tour. Surprised at the number of people with physical issues that impacted on ability for them to fully participate on this tour as significant walking and many steps on uneven ground are obviously involved in visits to ancient sites. Standard of hotels and food was very good. Plenty of food choices.

We went as a family group on this tour and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We were very lucky to have beautiful weather on tour and the only time it rained was in Zermatt, which resulted in snow on the Matterhorn - being from Australia this was simply spectacular for us. Our Tour Director, Mark and our Coach Driver, Hank were very experienced and read more we felt supported and confident in their expertise throughout the tour. The optional tours were wonderful and value for money. The only down points being some long days on the bus, the train breakdown from Lausanne to Paris and our accommodation in Venice - the hotel was located in the Mestre and would have been better located in Venice. Having said that, the dinner provided at the hotel (NH Laguna) was well done. We did not mind the hotel location in Paris as found the Metro easy to use but others on tour would have preferred a more central location. This tour is on the go with little time to rest but if wanting to see a lot in a short time, then this tour would suit. Yvonne from Global Journeys was, as always, great to deal with. We have used Global Journeys several times now and we thoroughly recommend the company to others. Globus also does an amazing job and we will definitely travel with them again.

We had a wonderful time away, our highlights were Isola Bella and the Matterhorn, such beautiful and so breathtaking. Mark our tour guide went above and beyond to ensure everyone was looked after and taken care of. We met some amazing people who we had awesome times with. Though we found staying in Zermatt for 2 hours waiting for the train draining read more as the shops close, thinking this could have been better spent in Montreux. Venice was my most special moment of my trip though, being lucky enough to have gondola ride while being serenaded as a special treat for my birthday thanks to Mark our guide. To be able to share this with such a wonderful group was sensational.
Excellent accommodation through out. Paul Felix was the perfect tour guide making a very difficult job look so easy. The traveling between places was a bit tiring as the distances had to be quite long as it was a sampler trip.
Wonderful stress free holiday 2

We could not have had a better holiday. We had a great tour director and an excellent safe coach driver. Our group size was just right and we got on very well with our fellow travellers and made good friends. Every day was a delight, so much to enjoy and such a variety of interesting experiences. Walking up Mt. Pilatus in Lucerne on a sunny day was read more unforgettable. Vienna's operetta concert was most enjoyable and our Heurigen dinner at that weird restaurant was so unexpected (in a positive way). We were so happy to have seen Slovenia with its most beautiful green capital and the dreamland scenery of lake Bled. The courtyard dinner in Venice was lovely. Assisi was another beautiful place to visit. Pompeii and Rome were the highlights of our trip and throughout the holiday, the input of the local guides was invaluable and enriched the experience. All the places we visited in Spain and France were great. The last evening at the Moulin Rouge in Paris was a wonderful conclusion to a great holiday. The meals were fine, though the best food was at those truck stops in Italy! One suggestion we have: we would have been happier with fewer included hotel dinners giving us the freedom to explore local restaurants. Finally, we had an easy booking system with our Global Journeys agent who responded quickly to our queries and we liked being able to pay the fees with direct bank transfer rather than having to pay by credit card with the usual surcharge. The trip itinerary was very good, accommodation was excellent along the way, the bus was roomy and comfortable and the boat was great. Crowds were not an issue. The only two disappointing things were that the leaves had only just begun to turn due to a very hot summer and dry weather so would suggest a slightly later departure than what we did if this read more is what you want to see. However along with that will go many more buses and more ships, therefore more crowds! On the itinerary side, we thought Sydney was disappointing unlike its namesake in Australia! This experience seemed to be shared by many others we travelled with. Suggest you spend an additional couple of days in Boston before or after the trip as this is a fascinating city and the tour included in the itinerary is a barely an hour glimpse.

The tour director was great - really knew his stuff and a real 'peoples' person. The pace of the tour? I was intent on seeing as much as I could, so occupied any time free from the organised tour walking around sight seeing, etc. No problems sleeping of a night! It goes without saying that I did not get to see everything, but was more than happy with read more what I managed to fit in. All the inclusions were great and the options were all worth while doing. I started to feel the pace by Washington DC and at the same time not wanting the tour to end. Highlights - I enjoyed the lot of it. The restaurants included in the tour were very good, Washington DC, CN Tower dinner, New York [Chopper flight down the Hudson and Ellis Island]. My fellow travellers were great in making this solo traveller feel apart of the group.

What a magical experience! It began with organising the tour through Global Jorneys. Yvonne was so helpful providing advice and guidance on suitable tours for my husband, daughter and I to do. The Globus representative greeted us at Heathrow airport and then every day was an outstanding highlight. Our tour director, Hanni, was the most informative, read more funny, helpful guide you could ever wish for. She especially ensured that my daughter was OK. There are many included features with some local guides which are all fabulous. Highlights for me were The Rhine Cruise, the Colosseum, leaning tower of Piza, all of Paris and Windsor Castle but to name a few. Optional tours that I took all were of great quality. All hotel accommodation was good except near Venice which has been mentioned on previous reviews of this tour. It was an emotional farewell to my " Globus Family" at the end of the tour. I look forward to exploring more of the world with Globus in the future.
Our second trip with Globus enhanced our very favourable impressions from our first Globus trip which was the England Sampler. In fact we have now booked a third for next year. Despite a nearly full bus our tour director Sue kept us all well informed and at times entertained. She also helped to ensure that we mixed and mingled. Having an English read more guide who was totally familiar with Italy was a real bonus. Our driver was not only skilled but extremely personable. The coach was comfortable and quiet. The trip did require us to be reasonably physically active as we walked and climbed through the various ruins but this was what we expected. The days were full and occasionally long but comfortable hotels and some two night stops helped significantly. The tour visited the great majority of the places we wanted to go to. There were numerous highlights such as Pisa, Capri and so on as well as evening meals, especially the one at San Gimignano, A balanced and satisfying trip with good optional extras.
This Globus tour delivered all it promised but was in retrospect a bit piecemeal. The title is a little misleading as it was not really about the historic trains, it was more a sightseeing tour that included three historic train rides. The accommodation was excellent, the tour went smoothly though there were some long days. Our guide, though very read more efficient, was a bit aloof and we thought it did not give enough chance to get to know our fellow travellers. A bit disappointing that the welcome was drinks only, there were no name badges and no travel bag.

In a large touring busload, name tags would seem to us to be an essential item. We did appreciate the flexible approach of our tour guide, Tal, & minor changes he adopted to take advantage of reduced travel & early arrival at sites to beat crowds.
We had previously enjoyed travelling in Switzerland and Austria but touring Norway has taken the word "scenic" to a whole new level. It is absolutely stunning. A different beautiful vista around every bend...waterfalls, babbling brooks, mountains, valleys and fjords. We enjoyed every day. A well paced tour with plenty of time to explore at each overnight read more stop as we were at most hotels well before dinner. The Norwegian people are extremely friendly and welcoming. Would thoroughly recommend.

This trip offered a great variety of experiences from learning about the cliff dwellers in Mesa Verde National Park and visiting Taos Pueblo to riding on three historic railroads A highlight of the tour was visiting the old wild west towns of Silverton and Durango and walking across the Royal Gorge Bridge over the Arkansas River. All the time seeing read more the most spectacular scenery of both Colorado and New Mexico. On this tour there were 26 people and the Tour Guide and Driver were both friendly and knowledgeable.
We absolutely loved the trip. Morocco was a wonderful place, the Sahara inspirational and breath taking and we loved Spain. We are both vegetarians and separate meals were always provided as were gluten free for another in the group. The tour director was great and continually reminded us to be aware of pick pockets, not to let anyone touch our luggage read more etc. all local guides spoke excellent English and the sights we saw were amazing. So sorry when the trip ended.
A busy 31 days in Europe 4

If you want to see nearly everything in a relatively short time, this is the tour to do, especially travelling the long distance from Australia. You get a really good taste of different European cities and you will be able to decide whether you would like to return to your favourites next time! This was our second Globus tour but our first to Europe read more and we will definitely consider using them again in the future. Our group of 44 (initially, one of the couples had to fly home after second day) were a great bunch of people. There were mainly Australians, followed by Americans, New Zealanders and a single Canadian! I would not want such a large number again though. We did all the optional excursions (not including London) except for two, which were the Windmill & Cheese Tour in Amsterdam & the Neapolitan Experience in Sorrento. The total cost if you do all of them from Brussels to Paris is approx. 2790 Euros for 2 people. If you do the Windmill & Cheese Tour, you will not get a chance to see Amsterdam! The ones which I would not do if I had the chance again are 1. Swiss Folklore Party & Dinner in Lucerne 2. Sorrento Flavours 3. Excursion to Toledo in Madrid. This is my personal opinion only. I thought they were either not that interesting or special or they infringed on free time too much. Also you will most definitely not go hungry with all the included and optional dinners.
The first week is probably the most tiring as some mornings, we had to leave the hotel around 7.30 to 8 o'clock, but this got easier and some mornings were more leisurely, the further we got into the tour. I would suggest you need to be quite mobile as there is a reasonable amount of walking and be able to walk slightly uphill on occasions. It isn't really for unfit people, unless you're prepared to miss out on some sights. Our tour started from London on 2 September and whilst the weather was on the warm side, mid to high 20's, overall it was good travelling weather everywhere. It was slightly cooler when we finished in Paris, so take a light to medium jacket, which you will also need for Mt Pilatus in Switzerland. You also need some dressier clothes for the optional Waltz & Operetta Concert in Vienna and the optional Moulin Rouge in Paris.
The hotels were mostly very good and usually close to the city, but not all. The hotel in Vienna overlooked the Danube River and was one of my favourites, although it wasn't close to anything else. The hotel in Paris was nice and the breakfast was excellent but it was too far from the centre of Paris. Our driver, Oscar was brilliant and our tour leader, Lode was very efficient and knowledgeable, but I found him to be a bit intimidating! We felt like VIPs actually, as we skipped queues and got extra inclusions, which we noticed other tours did not get. We got first class seats on the TVG train from Bordeaux to Paris which was great. Overall I thought the tour was excellent and great value for money and we were very happy with the price and service given to us by Global Journeys and Hannah. I was a tiny bit concerned about booking and paying over the internet and not actually seeing the travel agent, but I would be confident in booking with them next time. Iceland Adventure

Global Journeys provided very helpful and professional staff who quickly dealt with our initial inquiries and our subsequent booking of our 8 Day Iceland Adventure with Globus from 28th August, 2016. The Globus Tour bus was full but very comfortable and Globus provided an excellent Icelandic Tour Leader, "Holm", was her the name I used, her full Icelandic read more name was unpronounceable/unspellable. We saw all of the sights and learnt a lot about the Iceland Geographic and Icelandic customs and culture from "Holm". We really enjoyed our tour it was excellent, although the weather was cold, by our standards (with outside temperatres during the day of between 8degrees C to 10degrees C) but it was rain free and sunny except for a half of one day. Our Hotel Accommodation and included meals were all of the best quality throughout the whole trip. We also did both of the additional excursions, the boat trip in Lake Jokulsarlon through the gigantic blue icebergs fed by three or four enormous Glaciers, and the float/swim in the Blue Lagoon, both were very good.
Tour director Riccardo and driver Emilio provided us with a really good tour of France. It was great not having to worry about the hotels, the parking, the luggage, the TGV back to Paris. On the whole, the hotels were great and in good locations (loved the chateau de Chailly , and Mercure at Chamonix) Some of the rooms were on the small side and air read more con not up to coping with the heat; the included dinners were sadly disappointing on many occasions, and only one drink included with your meal. We did most of the optional tours, Versailles and Monaco were wonderful, but the Canal du Midi and Fontaine de Vaucluse trips were a waste of time and money.
Way up there as far as scenery is concerned. Couldn't ask for more opportunities to "Ooh aah" over waterfalls, glaciers, icebergs, geysers, bubbling mud, rugged cliffs, serene valleys, verdant farmland, whales, horses, etc. Tour director was very good - knowledgable, hard working, patient, good sense of humour and tried really hard to find us a puffin. read more Bus was comfy with wifi. Seat rotation. Bus driver was excellent. Accommodation was probably as good as it gets in Iceland. We had no reason to complain. Meals were fine, especially the seafood and lamb. Would really recommend the whale watching. Plenty of whales putting on a show and anyone interested had the opportunity to catch a fish. A personal bonus. Blue Lagoon was great! Warm water, a mud facial, muscle relaxing plunging water and several bars within the pool made for an enjoyable afternoon.
