It was perfect. We didn't want it to end 0 , Australia, May 2012
Thank you Frances for helping us with everything that we needed. My brother and I are eternally greatful to you. The tour was very well organised . It was perfect. We didn't want it to end. The hotels were very comfortable. The food provided was very nice. We saw the most important touristic places. The views and sceneries are out of this world. The ...read more coach was very comfortable. The driver was so nice and polite. The tour guide and the driver went out of their way to please everybody. I will never forget this trip.
We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves 2 , Australia, May 2012
The tour was very good and we had a brilliant tour guide in Scott and a great driver in Eric. We saw so much and the only part which for us Australians and English on board was a rather long boring day was the touring around Washington visiting the war cemeteries as visiting so many became rather tedious and time could have been better spent touring ...read more around Washington. Yellowstone Park could all have been seen in one day and then perhaps the long drive from there to next town could have been halved by staying overnight somewhere else. When we booked our tour we were not informed that shuttle pick up was included and as we didn't get our tickets until 2 weeks before we left, (Ed. This is standard from Cosmos) we only discovered it then but we had already booked our own shuttle. Some of the people on the coach trip informed us they had had a shuttle provided to pick them up at New York as well so that was rather disappointing that this information was never given to us. The New York Hotel - Holiday Inn Express Times Square - was not very good. Good location but our room was never cleaned properly and we had to keep asking for soap and towels. We were there for 6 days and the floor was never vacuumed. The restaurant area is so tiny and badly set up so that everyone congregates in one corner trying to cook toast and get cereal and never enough seating for all the guests.
A great trip made even better by great our tour guide and driver 1 , Australia, May 2012
Was a great trip - made even better by great our tour guide Scott and driver Eric. The only couple of things from a non American point of view was that the visit in Washington of all the cemeteries was just too much and everyone on our coach complained that after 2 we didin't need to see any more! Visit to Jacksonville was not something one could get ...read more excited over - perhaps just make the Yellowstone National Park a one day trip. Recommending to our friends who intend to take this trip this year.
Whole experience exceeded my expectations 0 , Australia, May 2012
The tour was excellent and the tour director was especially efficient and thorough, providing detailed information and maps on all places we visited. She was even on hand to see tour members off on optional extra excursions. The whole experience exceeded my expectations.
I have always thoroughly enjoyed the experience with Cosmos 0 , Australia, May 2012
I thoroughly enjoyed the tour and found it to be excellent value for money. The variety of places visited from big cities to attractions in the west such as Cody, Pierre and Mount Rushmore. Yellowstone National Park was a great highlight, where we were lucky enough to see numerous bison, a black and also a grizzly bear plus numerous other wildlife in ...read more the area as well as the the magnificent scenery. Frances, the tour director was most attentive and efficient and the driver, Nancy was excellent. I have been on several Cosmos tours and would thoroughly recommend them as I have always thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
Wished last evening meal had been included to say 'farewell' 0 , Australia, Sep 2011
Thought the tour was good. Some of the optional tours seemed to be a bit vague (the tour director didn't have the correct or enough information about some of the optional tours). I would have liked the last evening meal (an optional event) to be included in the cost, so that everyone attends. That would have given us the chance of all being together ...read more to say 'farewell'. Wouldn't it be great if 'gratuities' were included in the cost... tipping is not something Aussies want to be bothered with. A 'fun' name tag that could be worn for the first few days (optional) as it is difficult to learn everyone's name. Other than one hotel (Chicago) all the hotels were excellent! Thanks, Yvonne, you answered any questions I had promptly. (GJ: Prepaying tips is an option on all tours. If you'd prefer this, let us know and we'll include it in your quote.)
Wonderful tour of a Wonderful country 0 , Australia, Sep 2011
Wonderful tour of a Wonderful country. Tour director France Wray and driver Don Knight worked very hard to ensure no problems, Frances kept everyone well informed. Don drove over 4,000 miles, which is a long way to be responsible for soo many peoples safety, not to mention loading cases on and off! Accomodation ranged from excellent to very good, only ...read more motel which was uncomfortable, not even a chair in the room, was Red Roof Inn in Chicago, but it was in an excellent position, so I suppose cant have everything. Breakfasts every morning would have been nice, would not have added a great deal to overall cost. Air conditioning on bus was too cold, and air vents could do with some maintenance. Not enough time in Las Vegas. So much to see, another day or two wouldnt have made much difference. Most bitter dissapointment though was being taken to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. Grand Canyon is one of the wonders of the world and cant understand why you would take tourists to the North Rim.
