I thoroughly enjoyed my trip to Canada with APT. The online booking was very simple to follow ensuring that any mistakes on the part of the client were picked up and addressed. All our experiences were exactly as stated in the information guide. Our tour director was a mine of information and through his conversations we all learned a great deal read more about Canada and the local wildlife, geography and customs. The hotels were of a very high standard and we all enjoyed magnificent views from our room. Highlights were standing on a glacier and drinking the melting water - only a few people in the world experience this. Seeing the snow capped mountains and bears emerging from hibernation and enjoying the dandelions was delightful also. The Rocky Mountaineer was a wonderful highlight. We were all made to feel very special and the cuisine and service on board was unsurpassed. APT has an excellent reputation and from my personal experience is probably one of the best tour companies currently operating.

We enjoyed the tour as a whole. Unfortunately, David's Alzheimer's reared it's ugly head, which had a direct effect on the tour - we were unable to fully participate in all activities as we may have otherwise. Our tour guide, Nancy Fletcher, was particularly understanding, & allowed me to concentrate on David's mental comfort. Our group were very read more nice, a broad mix of backgrounds and interests. The weather was particularly kind to us, I understand, which was an added bonus! One member of our group, Keven, was taken to hospital from Vancouver Airport before we made our return flight. I do hope all is well with him, particularly as he was travelling solo. Two areas were of some slight concern - Via Rail did not live up to its reputation as one of Canada's attractions. Facilities for a full complement of passengers were rather basic, particularly in the organization of dining, and the fact that the hot water was not turned on for a number of carriages, resulting in cold/no showers for some of us. Also, our final day in Seattle was less than perfect, possibly a brief guided tour could be incorporated to break a very long, drawn out day of waiting. While Pike Street Market is undeniably interesting, not for 6 hours plus at the end of a three week tour!

Overall APT River cruise was of a very high standard but not as high standard as previously. The quality of the food varied between excellent and just good. The Paul Bocuse dinner in Lyon was really outstanding. Shore excursions were well organized and very good.

I had an absolutely wonderful holiday. I have booked twice before with Global Journeys and I would not hesitate to do so again. Nothing is too much trouble and everything went smoothly. We had a mixture of age groups and everyone gelled very well. I would suggest if going to Cambodia that maybe a cooler time of year would be better than the 44 degree heat we had.

Vietnam and Cambodia Grand Tour

We should have chosen a different time to go. End of the dry season meant Cambodia was very dry and dusty and the cruise itinerary had to be changed because of low water so we missed the lake of Tonle Sap. The rice paddies of Sapa were bare so not at their best. We had been to Vietnam before and were very disappointed at what was missed in Hanoi read more and Saigon. The day from Ha Long Bay to Hoi An and Hoi An to Hue were very long. Our tour guide Hung was exceptional.
I had a few reservations before going to SE Asia feeling that this region was out of my comfort zone. This was our first tour and I have to say it was the best holiday I have ever had! I loved every minute of it and couldn't fault anything - except perhaps that we were all caught out by exceptionally cold weather in Hanoi and froze in our summer clothes! read more I really feel that I have the travel bug now and can't wait to peruse the options for another tour next year ( and the year after.....). Loved it!!

We booked our South Island tour because the date of our 2 night stay at The Hermitage at Mount Cook coincided with our 50th wedding anniversary. We had always said that one day we would stay at the Hermitage and the date of the stay at Mount Cook firmed our plans to join the South Island tour. We had a wonderful tour and we were impressed with every read more part of our tour and the professional attitude of both the Tour leader and the driver who kept the coach immaculately clean both inside and out. We have now decided that we must go back and visit the North Island.
Our trip with APT through Vietnam and Cambodia was a real eye opener. Accommodation was first class, tour operators and guides were excellent. My favourite part of the tour was our two days on Ha Long Bay, it is such a spectacular sight and to top it off we had New Years Eve on board which was greatly enjoyed. The river cruise was lovely but the poverty read more and the history that we heard was a bit depressing. Our hotels in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh city and Siem Reap were wonderful. Both boats, Ha Long Bay and Mekong River were excellent and the service and staff were wonderful.
The entire APT tour exceed our expectations. The highlight of the tour was in Whistler were it snowed during our stay and New years eve in Jasper. Our tour Director Brad Goessler was exceptional...extremely, informative, humorous, friendly , knowledgeable & professional and above all, an excellent tour guide who is well worthy of a special mention. read more We would have no hesitation in recommending Global Journeys or APT as a tour operator to our friends & colleagues.
The Tour Director and the coach driver were excellent. The information, history of Tasmania given during the drive time was informative, very interesting. We had a wonderful weather along the way. The highlights for me were Cradle Mountain and the Tall ancient forest, where one could explore alone, and truly hear the silence. Just awesome. The Gordon read more river cruise is something else to remember. It was a relatively small group of 24, the share accommodation was very good, having met another like minded person. The hotels were excellent with comfortable beds and all with it. The breakfasts were plentiful along with all other meals provided. Visit to the Chocolate Factory was interesting and informative, so was the lavender farm. All in all very good, recommend to go along.
APT Vietnam and Cambodia river tour covered everything needed for an amazing getaway. The staff were lovely, the food and accommodation were tops. The added excursions were interesting and varied with good, understandable guides. We met great people and laughed a lot. We would recommend this tour and with APT to anyone who asks us. Our flights pre-booked read more for us with Singapore Airways was also top notch. Nothing was left for us to do except the Vietnam visa and to enjoy our getaway.

Really enjoyed Port Arthur, would have liked an extra day there. When booking twin accommodation often we had a king or queen bed and a single. When paying a fair amount for a tour would have been good not to have had to sleep in a single bed.

We're gradually coming down to earth after the most wonderful trip of a lifetime. It was a busy time taking in the sights and the activities offered but somehow you manage! Our Cruise Manager did an excellent job and was always on hand to provide any information/assistance required. The guides on the coaches (and their drivers) were very courteous and read more provided interesting historical backgrounds of their respective regions/countries. For us the experience sailing on a 5-star cruise ship with its friendly and efficient crew was the highlight; and being entertained by the local folk groups was a real bonus and added to the warm and friendly atmosphere on board Only a few hiccups for us - on arrival at our hotel in Istanbul, we didn't receive information on how to contact our Cruise Manager, and we were unaware of the 'Welcome Cocktail Party'. We were not able to pre-book the optional tours on line. (But did manage to go on most tours of our choice). We would highly recommend this cruise and appreciate Yvonne's commitment through Global Journeys in organising everything for us.
Great support from Yvonne of Global Journeys. Excellent web based system to follow our booking and retrieve information. APT's tour of Vietnam and Cambodia was first class. Care and attention at all points for the three week tour of Vietnam and Cambodia.

Excellent tour. Although Fairmont Peace is in an excellent location, I would not rate this as a 5 star. Housekeeping fair and food cold at breakfast. There was no choice how you would like your eggs and they were ice cold every morning. Raffles and Sofitel outstanding.

Another excellent APT holiday and a wonderful first experience with Global Journeys. A big thanks to Hannah for being so professional and efficient. An amazing achievement for APT, a first class adventure in a third world country. Has opened our eyes to the true beauty of Vietnam and Cambodia and it's people. For my husband, going to Long Tan was read more the main focus of this trip, to pay his respects to his best friend who lost his life there. Ken got to lay a wreath and have some time to reflect on their mateship, something he had wanted to do for many years. Thanks to APT for this heartfelt day. Will definitely contact Hannah when booking our next holiday!

We found the cruise to be very professionally run. One of the best things was knowing that we had paid for everything and there would be no surprises at the end. We would love to have had a dance floor on the ship. We had a great time on our holiday and would love to do another river cruise.
