APT Vietnam and Cambodia river tour covered everything needed for an amazing getaway. The staff were lovely, the food and accommodation were tops. The added excursions were interesting and varied with good, understandable guides. We met great people and laughed a lot. We would recommend this tour and with APT to anyone who asks us. Really enjoyed Port Arthur, would have liked an extra day there. When booking twin accommodation often we had a king or queen bed and a single. When paying a fair amount for a tour would have been good not to have had to sleep in a single bed.

We're gradually coming down to earth after the most wonderful trip of a lifetime. It was a busy time taking in the sights and the activities offered but somehow you manage! For us the experience sailing on a 5-star cruise ship with its friendly and efficient crew was the highlight; and being entertained by the local folk groups was a real bonus and added to the warm and friendly atmosphere on board Only a few hiccups for us - on arrival at our hotel in Istanbul, we didn't receive information on how to contact our Cruise Manager, and we were unaware of the 'Welcome Cocktail Party'. We were not able to pre-book the optional tours on line. (But did manage to go on most tours of our choice). We would highly recommend this cruise and appreciate Yvonne's commitment through Global Journeys in organising everything for us.

Excellent tour. Although Fairmont Peace is in an excellent location, I would not rate this as a 5 star. Housekeeping fair and food cold at breakfast. There was no choice how you would like your eggs and they were ice cold every morning. Raffles and Sofitel outstanding.

We found the cruise to be very professionally run. One of the best things was knowing that we had paid for everything and there would be no surprises at the end. We would love to have had a dance floor on the ship. We had a great time on our holiday and would love to do another river cruise.

Internet very bad on ship. That was the only real complaint. The tour director Colin was excellent and the local tour guides were all really good and well informed. Could be better to have a few more mini buses for some of the outings for oldies.

As you were aware were not at all pleased with the APT Vietnam & Cambodia Tour which we took recently however, this trip was the difference between chalk and cheese. We had been wanting to go on a European river cruise for a number of years and we finally had the time to go. It certainly didn't disappoint. We had a wonderful time. The cabin was comfortable and clean. We can't recommend the trip and the service we received from Georgie at Global Journeys highly enough. If there was one trip to do in a lifetime this was it. Magnificent scenery great people in Canada. Each day got better and better, just when we though that what we saw could not get any better they managed to blow the mind the next day and so it went. We were impressed with how smoothly everything flowed, through all 3 countries, from the time we flew in until the time we flew out a month later. The APT staff were all friendly and very efficient, the restaurants all excellent, the accommodation first class, and the excursions well selected and always interesting. We felt that we saw all major sights. ...read more The 3 cruises met all our expectations and the scenery was amazing. We both felt we learned so much, as well as thoroughly enjoying every day. Not forgetting the Shows in China - the Legend of Kung Fu, the Tang Dynasty show, and Era - all were spectacular. The whole trip was so well organised in every detail. We are very glad that we have already booked Magnificent Europe with APT for next year! Our Travel Agent, Yvonne Brooks, at Global Journeys was very efficient and did a great job. Overall it was a great trip. Excursions cancelled in Budapest because of the National holiday on the first and second day of the cruise. APT did not inform us about it and kept advertising the twilight cruise on the first day - it is a bit disappointing as we had 3 days before the cruise started we could done the twilight cruise and the Buda castle ...read more excursion before the start of the cruise. The internet on the the Amareina was very bad - our cabin was at the back of the ship so no internet in the cabin. You have to go to the reception area or the top deck to have access to the internet. The staff were wonderful excellent services, the cabin was very nice but we couldn't use the balcony as when the ship dock usually other ship are docked one feet from your balcony. If you want to book a cabin I think you would be better of with the cabin with the French balcony usually most of the day you are out. The Excursions were great if not cancelled by APT.

What a fabulous experience! Every day was filled with interest and very special memories. Fabulous tour, beautiful cruise and fantastic scenery. The only criticism is the coach used in Spain was not as comfortable as other coaches we have been on. The itinerary was good although we could have easily skipped our diversion to Faro for lunch and spend more time in Lisbon or Porto which would be a little more relaxing with less time travelling. ...read more The cruise was the highlight and APT do it so well. We have no hesitation recommending this tour.

We enjoyed ourselves very much, but if we had paid full price, we would not think it value for money. Too much emphasis on food and drink. Not enough physical activity for us. A very professional ...read more tour director. We missed out on the first three days cruising, because of low river in upper Danube. We were ferried by coach and stayed at 4 star hotels in Budapest and Vienna. So no complaints. Excursions were very good, informative and entertaining, and we were taken to very interesting places. A good introduction to river cruising, but would have appreciated more opportunities for walking and cycling.

The ratings are covering the Canadian portion of the tour. I was very disappointed in the accommodation and service on the Alaskan land portion of the trip. I realise most of the lodges were in the wilderness regions but I felt they could at least update the accommodation, this was a 4 to 5 star level trip but I felt the Alaskan land portion was 3 ...read morestar.

This trip had to be the highlight of our 2 month holiday, couldn't fault it. Even met a couple from around the corner that we didn't know previously, now very good friends. I continue to recommend it to everybody.
