We have just returned from the most amazing experience in The Kimberley! It is a must see part of our beautiful country! June was a fabulous time to travel as we experienced warm days but no humidity or rain. Even though the nights in the wilderness were cool we were prepared with warm clothing, comfortable and warm bedding and the camp fires at night read more at the Wilderness Lodges.
From booking the trip with Global Journeys to the conclusion with APT the whole experience was extraordinary. It was great to experience the wilderness in comfort while still remembering that we were in the Outback. We enjoyed the experience of driving on the corrugated roads in the APT truck and crossing rivers both dry and and flowing. Our tour guide was unbelievable - knowledgeable across an amazing array of areas, accommodating, attentive to our needs and someone who mixed easily with the passengers. We had a good mix of travellers from their 30s to 70s and have made new friends from the trip.
There were so many highlights from the trip - climbing Emma Gorge to reach the pools of water at the top, the amazing view of the Mitchell Falls, seeing first hand some amazing Aboriginal art sites, Lake Argyle and the Ord River cruise, and the unbelievable experience of the Bungle Bungles and the Horizontal Falls to just name a few. Our trip there was so much better than the video and the best day travelling anywhere that we have ever experienced.
Some tips- make sure that you take warm clothing for cool to cold nights in the remote areas, and to gain the full benefit of this amazing experience you need to be moderately fit and healthy to be able to engage in the bush walking and rock climbing. Successfully testing our bodies was a real sense of achievement! We are planning our next wilderness trip to Cape York!

We had a worry free trip through the magnificent scenery of Alaska. In Detail NP we saw bears, moose, caribou and mountain goats. We took the combined cruise and Denali NP tour, plus some extra excursions. The accommodation and food were good, the people were interesting and helpful. The excursions were great.
Our APT tour guide Michelle was professional read more and pleasant, and great to deal with. She added to our enjoyment of the tour. Nothing was too much trouble for Michelle to assist with.

Horizontal Falls and Kimberley Complete

Excellent holiday, Good traveling companions, good meals and accommodation and fairly comfortable bus - a bit short on legroom on one side if I was to complain about anything. We were a bit unlucky not to see Tunnel Creek as one road-bridge was washed out but saw another gorge instead, so all was good.
It was well organised holiday, relaxed and stress free. Tour director, Stuart, was fantastic: friendly and very informative. All crews were nice, too. We cannot fault anything for the holiday. Other passengers were nice, getting on well.
Our highlights of this holiday were Salzburg and the Concert in Vienna. These were offered only with APT, I believe. read more So we'll travel with APT again. And finally, we were very happy that Hannah at Global Journeys who organised our trip without any problems. Thank you!

Overall it was an excellent experience. Company was great, activities varied and interesting, saw amazing sights of Tasmania and could not fault the accommodation! The tour guide was informative and helpful and we enjoyed ourselves immensely.

A thoroughly enjoyable Tour well organized and suitable for all ages. We enjoyed all the inclusions but because of our ages we didn't need to take the extras offered at our own expense. Accommodation all good except the extra bed in our Cabin at Cradle Mountain Lodge. Never mind we survived. Lovely meals.

APT Botanica & Global Journeys are so reliable! I know that when I book through Yvonne - the hassles & worries of organising such a trip as this, are left in very capable hands. I loved the combination of gardens, culture & art. My fellow travellers were a great mix & I would recommend this trip for solo travellers. Fabulous!

I never thought I would enjoy a river cruise after having done 3 ocean cruises, but I was wrong. APT gave us a holiday that could not be faulted. Every person from the Captain down to the dishwashers made us feel like old friends. Service was impeccable, food was fabulous, choice of included excursions was good but you did not have to do all if read more you did not want to. Nothing was a problem for the staff and crew. I believe APT's ships were the best on the rivers. Ours was the last trip for the season and the entertainment APT put on for the last couple of nights was very enjoyable. I cannot speak highly enough of APT. Thank you, job well done. Thanks also to Michelle for organising this for us.

We had a great journey from the beginning of the booking with Georgie from Global Journeys to the trip with APT. From the time the limo picked us up from home to take us to the airport to the time he picked us up to drive us back home everything was as promised & carried out in a professional manner.We only had to ask & what ever it was we needed was read more done & we didn't need to ask again. There was not one problem that we can recall having.
Wonderful holiday with a superb operator. Can't speak highly enough of APT. The ship was very comfortable, food very good and the staff were exceptional, particularly the Cruise Director, Rachel, the dining room staff and the hotel staff. The only problem I can possibly speak of is that I think I am now addicted to this life and it could cost us a lot of money in the future.
From booking the trip through Global Journeys to arriving home this was an awesome holiday. We were looked after so well at every step. Our tour director (Vivian Deng) made sure we had the trip of a lifetime in her home country. All the local guides were excellent and the hotels we stayed in were all sensational. Two highlights (in a tip that was full read more of highlights) was climbing the Great Wall then having a leisurely lunch in the shadow of the Wall and the Terracotta Warriors in Xián. We have ticked a number of things off our "to do" list but most importantly we have some great memories and have made lots of new friends. This is the second holiday we have booked with Global Journeys and it certainly won't be the last.
There was not a lot of cruising. We spent more time off shore or in port than cruising. There were quite a few locks to go through. When we docked, we were up against the wall of the dock and so the balcony we paid for was useless. Also at one port, there was a strong smell of sewerage. The ship, staff and food were great, but as a cruise I would read more not recommend. The Mekong River is a delight compared to the Douro River. This is because on the Douro River, there is not a great part of the river where you can cruise but it needs to be looked at. There were some very unhappy people on or cruise.
We travelled with APT and had a great mix of people, from driver, guide, to 14 other passengers. Two highlights come to mind - the first was our visit to the Steve Irwin Wildlife Reserve and the other was finally standing on the mainland tip of Australia, after long , bouncy travel days. The itinerary was varied and interesting, with some fantastic read more local guides. The only sour points was the terrible accommodation at Bramwell Station, east of Weipa, and the tents at Punsund Bay were acceptable, but could have been better with a little thought. Overall, we were pleased we undertook the trip, which was our first with APT. The driver we had gave us some fantastic local stories he had researched, which included early explorers, setters and problems associated with settling the northern tip - we all loved these stories, as it kept us entertained while we bounced our way north.

This was easily one of the best holidays we have had. The process of booking was made simple and easy through Global Journeys (thank you Yvonne!) and the trip itself was truly wonderful. The Caledonian Sky was ideal for the trip, the staff on board were friendly, efficient and just could not do enough for you. The tour staff were excellent - so informative read more and friendly. This was our first expedition cruise (actually our first cruise) and we have definitely been converted to this style of cruising now. The Kimberley is an amazing place and there is so much to see, but the extra information and guidance from the tour staff made it even better. Highly recommend the destination and the cruise.
The best holiday we have ever experienced. Five star luxury and inclusions travelling with APT on a European river cruise. We travelled Budapest to Amsterdam onboard the Amabella and it exceeded every expectation and we would highly recommend. We booked through Hannah at Global Journeys and she was fantastic. Hannah made the whole experience of choosing read more and booking an absolute breeze. When we contacted her during our trip with a question regarding flight connections she got back to us with an answer within minutes, we were extremely impressed. This trip certainly lived up to our expectations and was professionally handled on a day by day basis by the Cruise Director. All on shore activities that we participated in were also very well organised an informative. We particularly liked the fact that we were treated like royalty by the on board staff and all costs including food and drinks were read more all included in the cruise cost. The booking process through Global Journeys was handled efficiently and all flight connections worked out perfectly.
Our first APT holiday and we loved it. What a wonderful place the Outback is and to see how green it was after the recent rain was an added bonus. Lots of highlight including the scenic flight over Lake Eyre, climbing the Big Red sand dune and watching 4wd vehicles try to drive over it, staying at the iconic Birdsville Pub, driving the Birdsville and read more Strezlecki Tracks and Mungo National Park. With a couple of exceptions, the accommodation was excellent, the included meals were all really good and our tour guide Andrew was excellent. APT are not the cheapest but you do get value for money and I have no hesitation in recommending this tour.

Pretty good mix of people. No stragglers! It might be helpful if people could be told that the bus trip required early morning starts. Our trip highlight were the North and South Sawyer Glaciers which were an extra excursion attached to the cruise. It was a cold, very wet day, but the trip which we took from the ship before it reached Juneau was fabulous. read more Blue ice floes and glaciers, seals floating on ice, a mother bear and 3 babies on the shore, waterfalls, and whales - all rolled into one! Frankly, after we had seen these glaciers, Glacier Bay was a let down.
