Wonderful trip with no worries 6 Magnificent Europe with Prague , QLD, Australia, Nov 2016
We had a great journey from the beginning of the booking with Georgie from Global Journeys to the trip with APT. From the time the limo picked us up from home to take us to the airport to the time he picked us up to drive us back home everything was as promised & carried out in a professional manner. We only had to ask & what ever it was we needed was read more done & we didn't need to ask again. There was not one problem that we can recall having.
Luxury Holiday 1 Magnificent Europe , NSW, Australia, Sep 2016
Wonderful holiday with a superb operator. Can't speak highly enough of APT. The ship was very comfortable, food very good and the staff were exceptional, particularly the Cruise Director, Rachel, the dining room staff and the hotel staff. The only problem I can possibly speak of is that I think I am now addicted to this life and it could cost us a lot of money in the future.
Excellent tour   4 , Vic, Australia, Sep 2016
From booking the trip through Global Journeys to arriving home this was an awesome holiday. We were looked after so well at every step. Our tour director (Vivian Deng) made sure we had the trip of a lifetime in her home country. All the local guides were excellent and the hotels we stayed in were all sensational. Two highlights (in a tip that was full read more of highlights) was climbing the Great Wall then having a leisurely lunch in the shadow of the Wall and the Terracotta Warriors in Xián. We have ticked a number of things off our "to do" list but most importantly we have some great memories and have made lots of new friends. This is the second holiday we have booked with Global Journeys and it certainly won't be the last.
Douro River Cruise 19 Douro Delights , SA, Australia, Sep 2016
There was not a lot of cruising. We spent more time off shore or in port than cruising. There were quite a few locks to go through. When we docked, we were up against the wall of the dock and so the balcony we paid for was useless. Also at one port, there was a strong smell of sewerage. The ship, staff and food were great, but as a cruise I would read more not recommend. The Mekong River is a delight compared to the Douro River. This is because on the Douro River, there is not a great part of the river where you can cruise but it needs to be looked at. There were some very unhappy people on or cruise.
Exploration to WA 10 Cooktown and Cape York , QLD, Australia, Aug 2016
We travelled with APT and had a great mix of people, from driver, guide, to 14 other passengers. Two highlights come to mind - the first was our visit to the Steve Irwin Wildlife Reserve and the other was finally standing on the mainland tip of Australia, after long , bouncy travel days. The itinerary was varied and interesting, with some fantastic read more local guides. The only sour points was the terrible accommodation at Bramwell Station, east of Weipa, and the tents at Punsund Bay were acceptable, but could have been better with a little thought. Overall, we were pleased we undertook the trip, which was our first with APT. The driver we had gave us some fantastic local stories he had researched, which included early explorers, setters and problems associated with settling the northern tip - we all loved these stories, as it kept us entertained while we bounced our way north.
Fabulous trip to a wonderful part of the world 5 , NSW, Australia, Aug 2016
This was easily one of the best holidays we have had. The process of booking was made simple and easy through Global Journeys (thank you Yvonne!) and the trip itself was truly wonderful. The Caledonian Sky was ideal for the trip, the staff on board were friendly, efficient and just could not do enough for you. The tour staff were excellent - so informative read more and friendly. This was our first expedition cruise (actually our first cruise) and we have definitely been converted to this style of cruising now. The Kimberley is an amazing place and there is so much to see, but the extra information and guidance from the tour staff made it even better. Highly recommend the destination and the cruise.
River cruise 6 Magnificent Europe , NSW, Australia, Aug 2016
The best holiday we have ever experienced. Five star luxury and inclusions travelling with APT on a European river cruise. We travelled Budapest to Amsterdam onboard the Amabella and it exceeded every expectation and we would highly recommend. We booked through Hannah at Global Journeys and she was fantastic. Hannah made the whole experience of choosing read more and booking an absolute breeze. When we contacted her during our trip with a question regarding flight connections she got back to us with an answer within minutes, we were extremely impressed. Thank you Hannah, Global Journeys and APT for the trip of a lifetime.
Budapest to Amsterdam River Cruise by APT 4 Magnificent Europe , VIC, Australia, Aug 2016
This trip certainly lived up to our expectations and was professionally handled on a day by day basis by the Cruise Director. All on shore activities that we participated in were also very well organised an informative. We particularly liked the fact that we were treated like royalty by the on board staff and all costs including food and drinks were read more all included in the cruise cost. The booking process through Global Journeys was handled efficiently and all flight connections worked out perfectly.
Wonderful Outback Holiday   4 Lake Eyre and Flinders Ranges , VIC, Australia, Aug 2016
Our first APT holiday and we loved it. What a wonderful place the Outback is and to see how green it was after the recent rain was an added bonus. Lots of highlight including the scenic flight over Lake Eyre, climbing the Big Red sand dune and watching 4wd vehicles try to drive over it, staying at the iconic Birdsville Pub, driving the Birdsville and read more Strezlecki Tracks and Mungo National Park. With a couple of exceptions, the accommodation was excellent, the included meals were all really good and our tour guide Andrew was excellent. APT are not the cheapest but you do get value for money and I have no hesitation in recommending this tour.
Rockies/Alaska Trip   4 Rockies Odyssey and Alaska Cruise , QLD, Australia, Jul 2016
Pretty good mix of people. No stragglers! It might be helpful if people could be told that the bus trip required early morning starts. Our trip highlight were the North and South Sawyer Glaciers which were an extra excursion attached to the cruise. It was a cold, very wet day, but the trip which we took from the ship before it reached Juneau was fabulous. read more Blue ice floes and glaciers, seals floating on ice, a mother bear and 3 babies on the shore, waterfalls, and whales - all rolled into one! Frankly, after we had seen these glaciers, Glacier Bay was a let down.
A most enloyable trip, holiday and event 3 Magnificent Europe , Qld, Australia, Jul 2016
The ship was well appointed and laid out. The Wi-Fi was faultless and much appreciated. Sophie loves her Facebook. The crew always went out of their way to be pleasant and to enhance our experience. They were professional, positive and to have a happy and health work culture and environment with excellent leadership and management. The food, drink and read more entertainment were first class. The scenery m towns, buildings and excursions and guides were great. And we had good weather, almost the same as our Brisbane winter, with only one rainy day, from memory.
16 Day Kimberley, Kakadu & Arnhem Land Explorer (APT) 5 Kimberley and Top End , Victoria , Australia, Jul 2016
The people we were with were all very nice. We all got on very well. Hardest thing was the coldness of the tents at night in the wilderness accommodation. I didn't like sitting in a coach for such a long time, but I know that this the tour and it is the only way to get to places. Our choice that we choose this type of tour. Would loved to have stopped read more to take a few photos of signs like "Welcome to Katherine" Or "Gipp River Road sign". Just my preference to remember where we were. Overall I enjoyed the places we went to just didn't like the travelling and the cold conditions in tents. I did have to leave the tour for the last 4 days, but APT were excellent in helping with arrangements, doctors, flights and accommodations. That was reassuring that when things go wrong, APT have contingency plans in place.
Once in a lifetime experience 1 Kimberley and Top End , VIC, Australia, Jul 2016
Our tour with APT proved to be a great holiday. Our tour guide Garycould not have been more approachable, friendly and professional. His knowledge of local sites and traditions was first class and his ability to ensure we all enjoyed our time together was appreciated by all on the tour. The tented accommodation was great and the staff at all the APT read more camps were so accommodating and friendly. The Kimberley is such a spectacular place to visit with its magnificent gorges, the intriguing boab trees, never-ending termite mounds, the thought-provoking cave art and just the wide expanse of land we travelled through. Some of the walks into the gorges were a little challenging but with the support of our fellow travellers and our tour guide we were able to complete all the walks....Would we do it again? If the legs and the hips hold up- YES!!
Stunning trip across the Gibb River Road 2 Kimberley Complete , WA, Australia, Jul 2016
Great Trip. The tour Guide Coleman was just exceptional. We walked through gorges, swum in the rockpools the group was very like minded and all got along famously. The scenery was breathtaking.
Interesting and unusual experience 2 , NSW, Australia, Jul 2016
We would book with Global Journeys again. We had a lot of rain, but it was still very interesting. The Ship Le Soleal was excellent, the food was very good and the crew attentive, obliging and friendly. The professionalism of the guide in Canada was outstanding.
Exceeded expectations   6 Magnificent Europe with Prague , WA, Australia, Jun 2016
This was the first river cruise that we have experienced and certainly will not be our last. It exceeded all our expectations and we enjoyed every aspect of not only the cruise but all the interesting places visited, the on board entertainment, the majestic train journey to Salzburg and all the other delightful experiences. We cannot speak highly enough read more of APT's attention to detail and how everything came together like clock work. It made us proud that this was an Australian owned company. From being met by the APT representative at Amsterdam airport to checking in at Prague airport, assisted by two APT representatives, I did not have to handle our suitcases, they were either left outside the hotel rooms or our cabin when leaving the ship and the rest was taken care of, even at the Prague airport check in.

The ships personnel from the captain down went about their duties very professionally with nothing being too much trouble. The meals and wines were just great and the tours ashore were of great interest with the local tour guides being very knowledgeable and fun to be with. The Budapest to Prague land side of our holiday was also on a par with the cruise and Tomas, the Prague APT representative, was just as professional and entertaining as the cruise personnel. The ship, AmaStella was only launched in February and is state of the art in design. Yvonne and Global Journeys did a great job putting the cruise holiday package together for us.
APT 15 Day Horizontal Falls/Kimberley Tour   1 Horizontal Falls and Kimberley Complete , QLD, Australia, Jun 2016
Fabulous trip. Fellow travellers and tour driver/guide (John Kemp) fantastic. Ideal time of year. Weather perfect. Accommodation/meals very good. Highlight was Horizontal Falls. A very memorable experience. Would recommend anyone who hasn't seen what the Kimberley has to offer to definitely put it on their bucket list - you won't be disappointed. I loved every minute.
Romantic Seine & Rhone 2 , NSW, Australia, Jun 2016
We struck a bad time to travel to France, the rivers were affected by flood. The first week on the Seine was also rain affected but the river ship could operate and we were coached, if necessary, so that we were able to do the tours we wanted. There was an exception as there was a last minute change to the itinerary, one option originally given was read more a visit to Chateau de Malmaison but this was changed and notified in the itinerary supplied with the final travel documents to Chateau de la Roche-Guyon. The original was a Napoleon/ Josephine residence with historical appeal and the replacement was a facade of a building built onto a cliff face with the rooms excavated into the rock. Uninteresting, no atmosphere, unfurnished and it's main claim to fame seemed to be that was it was used by Rommel during WW11 who had more rooms excavated, also unfurnished. The ship was unable to reach Paris so we were bused there and lodged in the APT hotel. The Paris city tour, the Eiffel Tower and the Moulin Rouge were excellent.

The second part of the tour was the river cruise on the Rhone which was all by coach as the ship could not leave Lyon because of the water levels. After 4 days we were bused from Lyon to overnight in a Aix en Provence hotel and finished of the tour by bus bypassing Viviers and Grignan sightseeing which were missed because we were running out of time. We enjoyed our last tour days on the Riviera and, especially Saint Paul de Vence. Monte Carlo was an introduction into how the wealthy enjoy themselves. The weather after we moved south became hot and dry which was more pleasant than the initial week.
Once again above expectations! 4 Magnificent Europe , Australia, May 2016
We found the AmaStella was first class and the staff were superb. The tours and excursions were also first rate - the dinner at Namedy Castle, the private concert in Vienna, the Imperator train to Salzberg, the palaces and the villages - all picture-postcard perfect. The on-board entertainment was wonderful - the gypsy violins in Budapest were a great read more grand finale! Once again APT were superbly organised and professional. The whole experience was seamless. We would completely recommend it.
River Cruising with APT 2 Magnificent Europe , SA, Australia, May 2016
Cruising from Amsterdam to Budapest with APT was the absolute best choice we could have made for our very first river cruise. It was fun filled 15 days. We made lots of new friends and had many experiences we have never had before. As someone who suffers with food intolerance's, I could not have asked for better with Chef Chardar and the crew. My ever read more whim was catered for and I was thoroughly looked after. We visited so many amazing towns and had many experiences, far too many to mention them all. The highlights would have to be Namedy Castle, the Vienna Orchestra and the Budapest Opera. We are now trying to decide which tour to do next!
