Attention to detail by APT was impeccable 6 Rockies Odyssey and Alaska Cruise , NSW, Australia, Jun 2015
Canada is a beautiful country, very much like the South Island NZ. The hotels were magnificent and attention to detail by APT was impeccable. I have travelled to many countries of the world, both rich and poor (75 to date and still counting!) but I found this holiday to be the most expensive one I have taken so far. To me , Alaska was a bit of a let read more down; perhaps I expected a whole lot more from it but it did not deliver except for Glacial Bay. One tour that I took from on board the ship particularly at Ketchekan (Fishermen's Bering sea excursion) was I think a con-artist's job. The giant crabs and the octopus had been caught months' beforehand and were in a cage on the sea bed only to be hauled out for the gullible tourists on the tour. Greenpeace would not have been happy with them! The huskies and Harley Davidson tours were the most memorable ones for me. Our fellow companions were pleasant people but a little on the old side with an old mind set. This tour would suit seniors and retirees but not young people.
So many wonderful thoughts in my head! 4 Rockies Explorer and Alaska Cruise , QLD, Australia, Jun 2015
This is what I wrote to my best friend about the trip. It sums it up. So many wonderful thoughts in my head. Sitting on a sundeck in a herb garden outside our room in Vancouver when we arrived with a beer. So tired yet so exhilarated by being in Canada we stayed up and partied all afternoon! The Rocky Mountaineer train trip....... bloody hell it was read more amazing mate. Forests, streams, lakes and mountains snow capped and water falls. All seen whilst being served the most amazing food and drinks you have ever eaten.. The dome carriage gold leaf is the only way to go. My most emotional moment was on blue river on the River Safari where we went on rafts out to the wilderness and just slowly stalked the lands edge looking for bears. We floated silently and waited and WOW ! Black bears eating and just clumsily strolling along the river bank not knowing we were there. I cried happy tears. You could hear the sticks crack on the bank as they walked along. WOW. LOL

My next one is glacier bay. It was the most eerie place ever... Small and large ice burgs in the water as the ship quietly drifted through and then you would here hissss. The water touching the the ice as we sailed passed. Then the most amazing thing I have ever seen was in front of me. A glacier !! OMG Its width and height was overwhelming and the colours in it. We slowly drifted passed it and I can honestly say I thought I was in another place other than this earth. No sound just every now and then massive cracks like thunder. We were so lucky as we heard the most amazing crack and then part of the glacier fell into the sea. I thought I was in a movie ! The friends I made and the things i saw mate. I hope this gives you an idea of my favourite moments.
Loved every day of the tour 1 Magnificent Europe , WA, Australia, Jun 2015
Cheaper cruises ships are available but the added extra exclusive shore excursions with APT are well worth the additional cost. Loved every day of the tour. Some of the last minute deals were better value but one cannot plan trip times with this type of deal. Global Journeys loved your check list! Cheers as we both had the best time.
Everything promised in the website was delivered 3 Magnificent Europe , NSW, Australia, Jun 2015
As indicated by my ratings, my conclusive statement is 'Everything promised in the website and other publicity was delivered.' The downside was that someone had brought on board a respiratory infection of some sort so that on about day four, 75% of the pax were barking and coughing all over the place, us included. Nevertheless, Cheri the cruise director, read more herself afflicted, worked tirelessly so that, at every available opportunity a doctor was brought aboard. But the biggest bonus of the trip for me was the fabulous crew - a lovely collation of young men and women, mainly from eastern Europe (I think) who made the official United Nations look as shabby as it so often is. Thanks, too, for your courtesy and help.
Beautiful tour 2 Rockies Odyssey and Alaska Cruise , NSW, Australia, Jun 2015
This was truly a wonderful tour paying attention to all the finer things in life. APT really does do a wonderful job of their itineraries. Everyday was an amazing day, truly enjoyed it.
I could not fault APT or Global Journeys 3 Magnificent Europe , NSW, Australia, May 2015
I could not fault APT or Global Journeys. The cruise was excellent and the staff on the ship were very helpful.
What can we say about this trip other than superb 7 Magnificent Europe , NSW, Australia, May 2015
If we could rate this trip higher than the Excellent we have given it we certainly would! What can we say about this trip other than to say superb; fantastic; unbelievable; magnificent and many more descriptive terms such as these? This was the trip of a lifetime and rates as probably the best and most luxurious trip we have ever taken in our more read more than 30 years of travelling the world. From the moment we arrived at the pre tour accommodation at the Marriott Amsterdam we were treated like treasured guests and made feel totally welcome and comfortable. However, once we had been collected from this accommodation and taken aboard the AMAVENITA this 5 star treatment stepped up to a level that exceeded all expectations beyond any star rating!

For the entire trip we felt that the staff had a special intimate connection with each and every one of the guests, they certainly did not make anyone feel as if they were simply doing a job! Everything from the comfort and cleanliness of the cabins, the fine dining for every meal, the comfortable and luxurious public areas and the included excursions was beyond belief and catered for all tastes. There was never any pressure applied in making a choice of one of the included excursions provided every day, for if you simply felt like staying on board and travelling the rivers you were also most welcome to do so. The pace was relaxed and welcoming, the staff (including the Captain) totally friendly and always available for a chat if you wanted to ask anything about the boat or the trip or just chat about anything at all. The menus changed every day depending upon the part of the river we were travelling and the kitchen staff did a superb job of catering for 150+ people at every meal from a very small galley. The ambience on this ship is one of casual relaxation with a touch of class, with no one treated as superior or inferior to any other guest, no matter what level of accommodation they have purchased.

The on board laundry prices are surprising and far less than any charged by an onshore hotel of any standard, so most guests avail themselves of this service at some time while on the ship. Three very special outings included in the tour were; a sumptuous dinner with piano recital at Namedy Castle; a trip on the beautifully restored train the Majestic Imperator with a mini opera concert held on board and the most magnificent Viennese Concert held at the newly renovated and superbly decorated Palais Liechtenstein in Vienna. These three occasions alone make this tour one of the most special and unforgettable trips we have ever taken and we feel very privileged to have been able to participate. The Tour Guide, Roland and the Hotel Manager Gemma are just two of the staff we single out for special mention as they were always most accommodating. We would love to travel with APT again in the future as we are sure that this gold standard of travel would extend to any trip they offer.

Thank you Emily of Global Journeys for all your excellent work in organising this trip, we will certainly recommend and use Global Journeys for our future travel.
You get what you pay for 3 Rockies Odyssey and Alaska Cruise , WA, Australia, May 2015
Was a wonderful holiday. The scenery in Canada was exceptional and the tour and cruise were top shelf. APT are expensive, but you get what you pay for. Top price...Top tour.
Value of tour was very good 2 Rockies Odyssey and Alaska Cruise , WA, Australia, May 2015
The value of tour and the received service was very good. This was made better by the overall cost of the tour quoted by Global Journeys. Cheaper than APT's quote. All communication was undertaken online and by email. Even though answers to questions asked were slow the service and response by Yvonne Brooks was more than adequate.
Very relaxing and a lot of free time 2 Magnificent Europe , QLD, Australia, May 2015
My husband and I are in our early to mid fifties and although we enjoyed the company of the late 60s to late 70s age group we found a little difficulty in making friends as there were only a few passengers below 60. Also there was no activity geared for the active except a three hour bike ride in Melk. Overall very relaxing and a lot of free time. Not read more for the active and adventurous.
Excellent in every way 5 Magnificent Europe - Paris to Prague , NSW, Australia, Apr 2015
The cruise & the visit to Prague - excellent in every way, 5 star service & accommodation. Only down side was the visit to the Moulin Rouge - show great, food, service & seating terrible. Need to rethink this as the experience was not enjoyable.
What an amazing holiday!! 9 Magnificent Europe - Paris to Prague , QLD, Australia, Apr 2015
What an amazing holiday!! The booking process through Yvonne Brooks was painless (for us, not necessarily Yvonne), even though we changed our minds several times on details. The trip itself was truly unforgettable. APT go above and beyond expectations to make their trips memorable. From pickup to drop off at the airports we had not a worry in the world! read more So many great excursions to choose from, none of which disappointed, and several that truly stood out. Visit and dinner at Namedy Castle, The Majestic Imperator rail trip and the Concert at City Palace Lichtenstein. The local guides in the towns and cities we visited were very knowledgeable and the different paced groups a great idea. Our Cruise Ship Ama Venita was beautiful both in appearance and atmosphere. It was good to be part of the Christening Ceremony for this vessel. Cruise Director Anja kept us well informed on all matters and dealt with several unforeseeable situations very seamlessly.

I really appreciated her efforts, particularly when the flooding required a change of cruise ships mid voyage. Thank you Anja!! The cruise ship staff were nothing less than amazing in attention to detail, their friendliness and professional attitude. Cruise Manager Marcel the most entertaining of a long line of on board entertainment. The food was exceptional on board both in quality and presentation, and wine flowed freely. The accommodation in Paris and Prague was excellent, extremely well appointed King sized rooms and both locations within walking distance of many major attractions. Our sincere thanks to both Global Journeys and APT for a truly magnificent trip.
We had a great time 4 Rockies Odyssey and Alaska Cruise , QLD, Australia, Apr 2015
Dealing with Global Journeys was as wonderful this time as it was our first time. To get a reply to our emails on the day they were sent meant a lot to us and this is what our consultant did. She is always friendly and nothing seems to be too much trouble. We will be booking a tour for next year with Global Journeys as soon as we decide where we want read more to go. We have used a few travel agents but Global Journeys are the best we have found to date. (MD. Thanks Debbie!) We thoroughly enjoyed our APT Canada coach tour. Our whole group was wonderful. There wasn't one person we didn't get on with. Our tour guide and coach driver were just great. They obviously enjoy their jobs. The Rocky Mountaineer was wonderful too. The inside passage cruise however wasn't enjoyed as much. The ship was old, the service not that great and the buffet food ordinary. Overall though we had a great time.
Wonderful memories 2 , NSW, Australia, Apr 2015
Once again, thank you very much Yvonne for your attention to our trip. We went, knowing that we were in for a great & exciting time. Wonderful memories.
I'm extremely pleased with this wonderful trip 1 , VIC, Australia, Apr 2015
This was a wonderful trip which included all that could be expected to be seen in such a vast continent during one month. The time spent at each destination was good, the tour guide couldn't be faulted, his organisational skills were excellent and I'm extremely pleased with it overall. I am also satisfied with the way the booking was handled, easy flowing, no problems.
Service was excellent, nothing was too much trouble 1 Best of Vietnam and Cambodia , VIC, Australia, Apr 2015
Our tour guides throughout the APT tour were excellent and Tung our tour and cruise director did an excellent job making everything run very smoothly. All our accommodation was first class as was the beautiful food. I would have preferred a smaller tour group as it grew from forty six in Hanoi to over a hundred once we arrived in Saigon, however having read more said that the organisation went so smoothly, it really wasn't a problem. This is our second time we have booked with Global journeys with Georgie and I would definitely book through them again as the service was excellent, nothing was too much trouble.
Sheer luxury cruise 2 Magnificent Europe , QLD, Australia, Mar 2015
The cruise down the European rivers with APT was sheer luxury. The visit to towns and cities each day added to the grandeur of the tour. It is definitely a relaxing way to enjoy a holiday, having everything prepared and planned, with the added bonus of only having to unpack/pack once in the 2 weeks. The dining especially at night far exceeded expectations read more when compared to previous cruises in the Pacific. Tasting the wines of each different region at dinner almost converted me from being a confirmed beer only drinker. Thanks to Hannah at Global Journeys for organising a worryless vacation.
Only problem was slow Wi-Fi 2 Magnificent Europe , QLD, Australia, Mar 2015
Could not fault the ship or the crew but Wi-Fi very slow, even when available. Staff at Global Journeys very helpful.
Air conditioner broken in cruise cabin 3 Best of Vietnam and Cambodia , QLD, Australia, Mar 2015
The Hotels were excellent but the 'Porthole Cabin' on the Ama Lotus left a lot to be desired. The air conditioner did not work at all well and when we switched off the bathroom extractor fan to try and keep some cool air in the cabin we then had to put up with the smell of drains. The lounge was good as was the dining room The food while not exciting read more was plentiful and well cooked. The majority of the staff were friendly and helpful. While in Hanoi we were taken to see pots being made and also to throw our own pots as a souvenir. When we arrived there we found that there was no one working so (a) we did not see pots being made and (b) we did not get to try our hand at pot throwing. I was disappointed not to get a bike ride apparently because the roads were under repair. We were not told this until we arrived in Hanoi (very disappointing) The bike ride I did around Hoi An was excellent.
