Canadian Rockies and Alaskan passage were fantastic   1 , Australia, May 2013
The Canadian Rockies and Alaskan passage legs of the tour were fantastic with very good accommodation and value for money. The princess land tour leg of the tour, from Whittier to Fairbanks was not so good, primarily due to the lodges being unable to accommodate the large crowds of tour groups for meals in a timely manner (long queue and wait times ...read more for meals) and the accommodation below standard (other than at Kenai which was beautiful log cabins) the service changed from being personal to impersonal mass crowd mangagement. The food however throughout the entire trip was excellent and staff members very friendly.
APT tented camps were great!   0 , Australia, May 2013
Our guide, Jane, was fabulous. She always went the extra mile to assure a fabulous trip. APT tented camps were great! We would have liked more time for hiking. Global Journeys did a superb job with the logistics of booking our tour. We'd use them again.
A 6-star trip and we will travel with APT again   4 , Australia, May 2013
Excellent tour, we had a great Aussie group of 34 with us. APT's Tour Director, Inge, was very professional, always up to date, checked ahead, we arrived and our room keys were brought to Inge on the coach, so just had to walk off to our rooms, baggage handling great. Stephen our Coach Captain was very professional but also had a sense of humour and ...read more had many jokes and experiences to tell. Rooms were 1st class, we had one little hiccup at dinner in Banff, spoke to Inge and she called ahead next day and told Fairmont to lift their game, which they did and we had no other issues. The Rocky Mountaineer was 6 stars, great crew, they could see we wanted to enjoy ourselves and Kevin and crew were 1st rate. We had a ball but not I think over the top. All in all a 6-star trip, & we will travel with APT again, even the weather looked after us, it was sunny most days. Frances from Global Journeys was just great in the leadup to our trip - I have never booked a trip on the internet before, we had no problems at all, and we want to use you again if we can find the right trip. Any queries I had Frances answerred, she sent me links to all things I needed to do, visa's, travel insurance, etc, etc, transferred funds by 'ebank'. All great, thanks again to all at Global Journeys and APT, Noel & Patricia.
I will be in touch for the next trip!   0 , Australia, Apr 2013
It was an amazing holiday. I can't praise it enough. I am looking forward to my next trip. Global Journeys did all that was required. Many thanks. I will be in touch for the next trip!
The scenery whilst cruising on the rivers was spectacular   0 , Australia, Apr 2013
We had a excellent time, APT looked after us really well, our Director Emma Leslie was well organised and kept us well informed. Cruising on the Rivers was spectacular, the scenery sailing past and comfort on board was great. The food was exceptional, we were very well fed. Although the weather was chilly and rainy for a part of the time it did not ...read more dampen our enthusiasm to attend all of the excursion choices which were all very interesting and with really good guides. All coaches were comfortable and guides on board excellent. Thank you Georgie for organising this great holiday for us we would definitely recommend it to all our friends and family.
Everything was organised to perfection   0 , Australia, Mar 2013
Our river cruise from Amsterdam to Budapest booked with Global Journeys and travelled with APT with a stopover on return to Australia in Singapore. Everything was organised to perfection.
I could not speak highly enough of Global Journeys   0 , Australia, Mar 2013
This tour was amazing. As spring was late, we experienced snow in Amsterdam and a few other places in the first few days of our tour. It was lovely to relax and enjoy being pampered by the crew. Our tour director, Kate Barella, was knowledgeable, handled any problems quickly and efficiently, was never too busy to have a chat at any time, was on time ...read more with her talk each afternoon which was reviewing the next day's activities/excursions and very professional. She had a great sense of homour which added to the fun. The excursions were good, some we did, on other occasions, we embarked on our own walking tour of the villages, walking up and down lesser known streets and investigating ourselves. The bigger cities e.g. Amsterdam, Lyon, Avignon, Arles had so much to see and experience. I am sure every person on board the ship would have had different experiences. In relation to booking through Global Journeys, I came across the website while doing an internet search. I did checks to make sure I was happy to deal with Global Journeys and have had a very easy uncomplicated process to arrange the holiday. My husband and I have recommended Global Journeys to a lot of our friends and new acquaintances made on the trip. I could not speak highly enough of them, their efficiency, professionalism and helpfulness. When we embark on another holiday, I will be booking through Global Journeys. Thank You Yvonne! (Ed. Wow thank you very much!)
Sightseeing was very interesting, I'd recommend this tour highly   1 , United States, Jan 2013
Jeff is pleasant and interesting and he does the group management part of his job (on and off the coach, counting heads, checking in to hotels, etc.) professionally and carefully without being intrusive or bossy. Pete is a pleasant person and is an awesome driver. They both have great senses of humor. Jeff and Pete work together well. They did helpful ...read more things that are above the call of duty a couple of times that were really appreciated. For instance, we got stuck in a long traffic jam on a mountain road after a truck accident shut the road. They were in radio communication with emergency services so they could keep us updated on how long we'd be there, they'd planned to serve us tea and cookies if we got stuck, and by golly they got out the hot water and tea bags and cookies and we had a nice little tea stop right beside the road. Another extra: they made a point of coming to meet the new folks who were joining the tour the night before so as to welcome us and get us oriented as to what to do with our bags and how to find the bus. When we got on the bus Jeff introduced us to the group that had been travelling together so we were more easily accepted into the group. We were not near any fires but I had complete confidence that if we'd been threatened in any way they'd have figured out alternative routes in short order.

The sightseeing was very interesting, especially the Cradle Mountain area and the Gordon River Cruise. But every day was interesting and worthwhile. For dings: the food at the Hamer's Grill in Strahan wasn't too good. The new coach has uncomfortable seats and the seatbelts are too tight (and this is coming from someone who's been happily wearing a seatbelt for many decades.) There are other 'new equipment' problems that will get worked out over time. Some of the seat belts were hard to manage and the toilet door was hard to open and shut. The bucket seats are still pretty stiff on the edges of the seats and press into your hips but I think they'll get softer as the bus is used over time. I think Woolmer's would have been more interesting when the roses were actually blooming and if we'd had a guide for the property and a better guide inside the building (my group got a family member who wanted to talk mostly about the preservation of the property through a family trust.) All in all, I'd recommend this tour highly. (Ed. This tour has been amended for the 2014/15 season)
Thoroughly enjoyed every single day   1 , Brunei, Sep 2012
It has been a fantastic experience for my husband & I, and we thoroughly enjoyed every single day of the 12 days holiday in Tasmania. Other than the accommodation at Port Arthur which we thought was a little shabby, the rest of the accommodations at hotels and lodges were excellent. Meals were great and dinner cuisines were just wonderful and sumptuous. ...read more We felt very pampered, being looked after very well by APT staff, Les and David. 12 days of Tasmania packed with excitement in scenic tours, walks in national parks and reserves, understanding the history and heritage of Tasmania, the forests, the wilderness, the mountains and bays, the railway ride, Lady Jane Franklin II cruise... And the most memorable event was on 30th September when my husband & I celebrated our 29th wedding anniversary in Strahan! Thank you for a great tour.
Well put together cruise   0 , Australia, Aug 2012
Our river cruise of Vietnam and Cambodia was well put together by APT and we had a great team leader.
Cruise really lived up to the name   2 , Australia, Aug 2012
The 'APT Magnificent Europe River Cruise' really lived up to the name. The staff on the ship were excellent. The food was delicious. Balazs Kiss, the cruise manager, was extremely competent, helpfull and organised everything in a very cheeerful and professional manner. Having all meals and tours included in the price helped make the whole experience ...read more easy and enjoyable, nothing to worry about. The only negative was Malaysia Airlines, on one leg there were faults with the overhead lights, screen and reading light. The last snack they served before arriving in Melbourne on Thursday 27/9/12 was absolutely disgusting.
One of the best holidays we have ever had   1 , Australia, Jul 2012
We thoroughly enjoyed our cruise aboard the MS AmaLotus. The ship was beautifully appointed and the staff could not do enough for us. Our cruise was a 'once off' experience as we were 2 of only 13 passengers on board however we never felt like we were getting anything less than top class service and all tours etc were run as per the itinerary. I loved ...read more how we would disembark to discover the 'real life and culture' of the Vietnamese and Cambodian villages and then back on board to our attentive staff and luxurious surroundings - this is one of the best holidays we have ever had and our two tour guides were amazing. I would also like to thank Frances for her help in booking the tour and answering any questions we had, she was friendly and professional in her approach. I have no hesitation in recommending your company to friends.

Fabulous trip made easy by the help of our tour consultant, organising two trips of 15 and 13 days back to back with a two day rests in between. 12 countries two boats at a truly great price and no hassles. Disappointed by the low level of physical activity   3 , Australia, Jul 2012
Our Tour Guide, Jane Ballantyne, was terrific. She was knowledgeable, enthusiastic, fun and very hardworking. She is a great asset to your company and I hope she is being given opportunities to progress. The food, the itinerary, the accommodation and vehicle were all above average. The biggest disappointment was the level of activity on the ground. ...read more I had envisaged more walking, hiking and exercise but we were held back by some people whose physical condition made it difficult for them to undertake much physical activity. Maybe you should look at screening people so that more active people can be grouped together and more sedentary ones can be grouped. That way everyone gets what they want.
Exceeded our expectations   1 , Australia, Jun 2012
On the 1st day I wished it was the last, and on the last day I wished it was the 1st. Exceeded our expectations. Our Global Journeys Consultant, Frances was excellent.

Each day ran like clockwork   2 , Australia, Aug 2011
Thank you for the wonderful tour to the Kimberley! A once in a lifetime experience   2 , Australia, May 2011
Our West Australian Kimberley adventure was a once in a lifetime experience. The remote frontier wilderness with its chasms, gorges, caves and tunnels, waterfalls, rivers, hot springs and amazing sunsets excited the senses. Flowering trees, scrubs and boab trees were also a photographers delight. The tour was so well organised from beginning to end - comfortable 4 wheel drive truck, expert tour guide, 1st class accommodation and meals, wonderful travelling companions - it was very hard to leave the isolation and solitude behind. A special thank-you to Craig (Global Journeys) who made this dream of ours a reality, especially with the changing itinerary due to road closures so close to our departure time. He kept us so well informed and this was greatly appreciated. Well done.
