Did the APT Gems of the Rockies and Alaskan tour in May 2014. Hotels.. good. Coach - the worst ever - no legroom, a disgrace for APT. Tour Guide was aggressive, no patience with passengers, when she got off the coach she did not bother to wait for all the group - very Poor. Would I do another APT Tour, unlikely.
Thanks to Yvonne, our experience with Global Journeys was excellent. You saved us money and kept us up-to-date. Friends who used another travel agent received less information. We were impressed with the APT organisation and our tour guide was excellent. The accommodation was just THE BEST. The Rocky Mountaineer was also great. We all agreed that it read more was good doing the train at the end of the land tour as by then we needed a change from sitting on the bus and we had fun as a group as by then we had got to know each other. Our tour guide also preferred to do the tour in this direction. We enjoyed the cruise too but were disappointed to find that we were just one of 4 cruise boats in port each time so Juneau, Skagway and Ketchikan were full of tourists - but that is something beyond the control of GJ or APT.
We have travelled on Holland America's sister company Princess ships. In comparison Princesses service and staffing were far in excess of what was offered on Holland Americas Zuiderdam.

River cruise was enjoyable, food delicious and service excellent. Bar staff did a great job as did the room attendant. On board cruise director Marion was fun and informative and organized tours ran smoothly. Booking experience with Global Journeys was faultless.

It was very well organised and very enjoyable tour from the time we touched down at Beijing Airport to the time we flew out of Shanghai. Accommodation, food and services on the Yangtze Explorer were excellent. Our Tour Director, Phyllis, was very professional, efficient, friendly and attentive; we could not wish for a better tour director or a better read more local tour guide in Shanghai.

The whole experience of river cruising was great. It allowed you to see the best parts of each place you visited. I could not fault APT, they truly know how to look after you. The tours were great and organised really well. Thank you Yvonne for all your help.
Many thanks to Global Journeys and in particular Yvonne for handling the booking for our recent trip. Every inquiry was answered promptly and all our requests acted on. We had a wonderful time away. The week we organised in Paris prior to joining the APT tour was everything we could have wished. Once we moved to the APT Paris Hotel we were looked read more after like special guests. Herbert our Tour Director was with us right through to Budapest, his care, knowledge and organisational skills were excellent . Helena took us onto Prague and made sure we enjoyed the city she also escorted us to the airport for our flights home. Our experience of APT was 100% satisfaction. Our boat 'Amadante' was excellent, 141 passengers, the staff and freshly prepared meals were first class. All local guides were very friendly, professional and knowledgeable. The tours were excellent. We certainly recommend APT and Global Journeys for a holiday of a life time.

Thank you to Hannah for arranging our trip so competently and always with a smile. A true asset to your company. Thanks dear Hannah, we will always remember you with gratitude. The APT tour was well arranged, our Tour Director Brad and driver Bill were both wonderful, efficient, very friendly and helpful. Kudos to them both, they made the trip fun and read more organised everything for us. The biggest disappointment for us was the food on the Westerdam, most often bland, under seasoned, served lukewarm, not enough options for Vegetarians. The glossy descriptions on the menu bore very little resemblance to the actual dish served, often ingredients listed were missing. For seasoned travellers, with mature palates, the food resembled that served at an RSL or Food Court in a Shopping centre. I gave HAL detailed feedback on this aspect, it would be helpful if APT could follow up. This is the one reason we would not consider another cruise with HAL.
The road tour was good for the most, some not so good points: VIA Rail was far below our expectations, cabins were tiny, especially the Singles. The meals were less than fair. The long road journeys between Lake Louise and Sun Peaks and Sun Peaks to Whistler were way too long, both Sun Peaks and Whistler have very little to offer between a late afternoon arrival and early morning departure. It was a short stroll, dinner and bed. I realise there is little in the way of overnight stops on this route, but these two days were a waste. The Sun Peaks hotel was the worst of all hotels in the itinerary, we had some housekeeping issues and the dinner that night was a complete disaster. Overall, we were quite happy with our tour, if the points mentioned above had not occurred, it would have been a far better experience. We are from the Travel/Hospitality industries and travel extensively, throughout the world. The criticism above is genuine and we hope will be taken as such and efforts made to improve the experience for future travellers. Thank you.

Eastern Canada, Rockies Odyssey and Alaska Cruise

We would thoroughly recommend the 29 Day Eastern Canada, Rockies Explorer and Alaska cruise which we have just completed with APT. It was more expensive than most holidays that we have been on, but as far as value for money it could not have been better. The accommodation, meals, included activities and service was first class all the way. We saw glaciers, read more whales, snow capped mountains from a helicopter, views of Victoria from a sea plane and the list goes on. It was when we were having a Bailey's at 9.30am on the Rocky Mountaineer Gold Class train that we realised that we were definitely on a special holiday. We booked our trip through Global Journeys, and would definitely recommend them to friends, and we would use them again. The information that we were given, and the prompt replies for our questions were all very much appreciated, and our documentation was all in order and on time. Our heads are still spinning from this amazing holiday, so our thanks go to APT and Global Journeys for putting it all together.

The scenery is excellent and accommodation is first class but you do pay for it in the cost of tour. The Rocky Mountaineer first day is a long one so be prepared for approx. 11 hours on the train. The cruise to Alaska was impressive.

We had a wonderful time. The APT cruise from Budapest to Amsterdam was more than we expected or could have wished for. Our accommodation at the Sofitel Budapest was luxurious as we were fortunate to receive an upgrade to a suite with a view of the river, the Chain bridge and the castle on the hill. Absolutely beautiful!

This was a great tour! Hannah was extremely easy to deal with and reasonably responsive to any questions that we had to ask. All travel arrangements went smoothly and everything was as we were hoping it would be. A big thank you to Hannah for her help in making our trip a very enjoyable time.

Magnificent Europe - Paris to Prague

This tour was even far better than we had expected. Starting from my first checking the APT website after watching the TV ads for the Amsterdam to Budapest cruise and subsequently contacting Global Journeys for more information, we have been completely satisfied with the promptness and details of all queries. Yvonne Brooks was very polite and patient read more with all my email enquiries and this was very much appreciated as it was our first overseas trip and we needed all the help we could get. Even after deciding to upgrade our trip to the Paris to Prague trip, this was organised with no problems. We can't thank Yvonne enough. APT was excellent right from our being met at the airport in Paris to being taken to the airport in Prague. All excursions were very well organised each day, all Tour Guides were very knowledgable and seemed very happy to be doing their jobs and made all excursions most enjoyable. The only thing we have to say about the cruise from start to finish including accommodation, food, drinks, staff, entertainment is PERFECTION...we had no complaints or problems. We were completely satisfied with booking our APT Tour and river cruise booked through Global Journeys.

Most enjoyable. Maybe a few more 'two night stands' might have eased the 'unpack/packup' feeling, but I guess that was the choice made when we selected that tour/cruise. The scenery, particularly in Canada was amazing, and apparently the folks concerned work very hard to keep it that way. The options available re meals, shore visits etc were well balanced. read more I would like to post a very big thank you to the APT Tour Guide and the Coach Driver, both carried out a great job.
This river cruise holiday was the best I have ever done and I have been overseas many times in the last 30 years. Every aspect of the cruise was first class, service, staff, tours, all were excellent. I would certainly recommend Global Journeys & this APT cruise to all my friends and family.
We had a great time especially our older siblings, the pace is moderate. Would recommend for people over 50. I would prefer more full day trips offered (only one is offered in the 15 day cruise).

Magnificent Europe - Paris to Prague

The whole experience was wonderful. Paris was amazing. The tours and guides were great. The Moulin Rouge was just unforgettable. The cruise itself was everything we could have imagined and more. The scenery along the rivers was just breathtaking from the vineyards on steep slopes to the magnificent castles and quaint villages. Entertainment on and off read more the boat was first class and all so different. Some of the places we visited we could have stayed longer, but we did see so much. We ended our trip in Prague, a city I had wanted to visit for a long time. Service staff were all so helpful and obliging. The food was fabulous. Wonderful memories and many photos that will stay with us forever.
