Wish we had a little more time in Paris 1 Magnificent Europe - Prague to Paris , WA, Australia, Nov 2014
Just wish we had a little more time in Paris. The Effiel tower was rushed, couldn't even stop at the gift shop or go to the top floor without missing the coach. Same with the Moulin Rouge, no time to stop at gift shop, very very very squishy in seating, bad seats, couldn't see the show properly. Ended up having sore back and neck. Need to be higher read more seating and would have been nice to choose what we had to eat. Overall, we had an enjoyable trip, but the older passengers need to be prepared for 'younger passengers' who come aboard without any prejudice. Loved Germany and Vienna, absolutely beautiful. Thank you for a great holiday!
The organisation of this cruise was impressive 6 Vietnam and Cambodia Highlights , ACT, Australia, Nov 2014
All in all the organisation of this cruise was impressive. The staff were friendly, thoughtful and proactive. The standard of accommodation and meals was high. The off boat excursions were always interesting and on the whole not the sort of things which could be accomplished on a self organised tour. The guides, especially the guide in Cambodia (Minau), read more were helpful and informative. Well done all. I do have a quibble over the advertising. The brochure and initial tour schedule listed the cruise as passing through Lake Tonle Sap. This was amended just prior to us leaving Australia because of bridge work over the Tonle river. While we did in the end cruise on Lake Tonle Sap, comments from the staff indicated that no APT cruise had been through the lake since sometime in 2013; the principal reason being that the water levels were too low. This being the case, it is somewhat misleading of APT to include the lake in the cruise brochure without some reference to the likelihood of this part of the cruise having to be amended and substituted with a 5 hour coach journey. We were lucky. Our AmaLotus cruise was the first to go through the lake for over a year and was to be the last until the lake fills during the 2015 rainy season. Other cruises for the next seven months or so will not include the lake. I believe your clients should informed of this prior to booking confirmation.
We thoroughly enjoyed each day to the fullest 1 Magnificent Europe , NSW, Australia, Nov 2014
One of our best holidays ever and would highly recommend this venture to others. We thoroughly enjoyed each day to the fullest. Only setback was me catching Bronchitis on the last day which has had me bed ridden for the last week. Until next time!
Despite a disruption due to flooding, APT did their best 1 , NSW, Australia, Nov 2014
Despite a disruption due to flooding, the alternative arrangements were very satisfactory. APT did their best to ensure that everyone's further travel plans were accommodated.
Never to be forgotten experience 2 Magnificent Europe , Australia, Oct 2014
This was an absolutely 'never to be forgotten' experience. On the M S Amabella, the Captain, the Cruise Director, Roland Noordermeer and all the crew were really helpful. I can't speak highly enough of Roland's efficiency, hard work and thoughtfulness towards us. He certainly went more than the extra mile on a number of occasions, and warrants the read more highest praise. I have only one suggestion. There were a number of people in wheel chairs (4), on wheelie walkers and walking sticks, and although there was a 'Gentle Walker's Group', for those on sticks, it would have been good to have some sitting down places, maybe while the guide talked about the next thing to see. That is my only adverse comment. Well done APT!
Breathtaking throughout the entire cruise 2 Magnificent Europe , Australia, Oct 2014
Late October is a fantastic time to do Magnificent Europe. The Autumn foliage was breathtaking throughout the entire cruise. Also we didn't have to contend with the peak season crush on our freedom of choice excursions. We are hooked on APT Small Ship Cruising & are already planning our next adventure. Yvonne at Global Journeys took all the anxiety read more out of planning our trip & nothing was too much trouble for her.
It was a great experience and we would do it all again 1 Magnificent Europe with Prague , Australia, Oct 2014
It was just as the brochures said it would be. We were very well looked after from the moment we landed until we departed, the staff could not do enough and were always cheerful and positive. It was a great experience and we would do it all again. Thanks to all involved.
Loved every moment of the cruise 1 Magnificent Europe with Prague , Australia, Sep 2014
Loved every moment of the cruise. The staff and crew were fabulous, the organisation of the activities impeccable, the food amazing!
We had a wonderful time 1 Magnificent Europe , Australia, Sep 2014
We had a wonderful time. Everything about our cruise was fabulous, food, wine. people, everything. APT. were great, could not have been more helpful. Nothing was left to chance. Global Journeys, were great, thanks Georgie, for your help, you kept us informed along the way. We will book again with Global Journeys.
Nothing but praise for the Global Journeys team and APT 1 Magnificent Europe - Prague to Paris , Australia, Sep 2014
From the booking process to our return, I have nothing but praise for the Global Journeys team and APT. I travelled with my 84yr old mother, and two others and we all enjoyed the trip immensely. The APT tour director in Prague, Tomas, was wonderful and made sure everything went very smoothly during our interesting three days in Prague and on the bus read more trip to Budapest. The hotel in Prague was excellent, as was the formal dinner we had there. Anja was our amazing tour director on our cruise ship, the AmaReina and during our trip to Paris. The river cruise was very enjoyable. No detail was overlooked - superb accommodation, food, staff and excursions. Anja was always available to help with every query or issue of her guests and made us all feel comfortable and relaxed. We could choose to do as little or as much activity both on and off the ship, as we wished. Sometimes the walking tours included different levels, which allowed a faster pace for active walkers - such a good idea. Our days in Paris were a great finale, with a trip to the Moulin Rouge a highlight. There was also a wonderful gourmet walking tour of the Marais district that we loved. A small issue for some older travellers, may be the shower over the bath in the Prague and Paris hotels.
Fantastic well organised tour through Canada   1 Rockies Odyssey and Alaska Cruise , NSW, Australia, Sep 2014

Thank you again to Yvonne who always does a magnificent job in organising everything from accommodation, flights etc. Thank you again!
Just a delightful memory 5 Rockies Explorer and Alaska Cruise , WA, Australia, Aug 2014
This is just a note to say how much we enjoyed the tour of the Rockies and Alaska that you organised for us last August. It's a spectacular train journey and the accommodation all along the way was first rate. The tour leader, Sue, and the driver of the bus, Charles, were just lovely people. We thought that the 19 day tour was just enough for us - after read more that we went across to Toronto and up to Quebec .. then back by rail across Canada. That was a very relaxing and laid back part of our trip. Another thing .. the Air Canada flights (especially booking the exit row and bulkhead seats) was a pleasure ... great staff and we really enjoyed the company of the older stewards on the flight ... they were forever asking us if we wanted anything. Just brilliant. So altogether a great experience - even though at the end we were really happy to be home.

The only disappointment for us was the flight back from Sydney to Perth. The plane was one which had a central aisle and 3 seats either side ... extremely uncomfortable, and the worst food we had encountered. The stewards were very nice and helpful though. That might sound petty but Qantas needs to now look at some better seating in its economy class rather than just quantity and bottom line figures. Not sure if you've had any other complaints about that but I don't think we'll fly Qantas again even though we have been very supportive of the airline in the past. Hope you are keeping well and again, thanks for organising that tour for us, just a delightful memory.
Cruise on Holland America just unbelievable first class 4 Rockies Odyssey and Alaska Cruise , Australia, Aug 2014
This Canadian & Alaskan APT tour was just a fabulous experience, surpassed our expectation. Just loved the two day Rocky Mountaineer rail journey, sitting back and taking in the landscape and being looked after by very dedicated and professional staff. The 12 day coach journey was fantastic staying in the best accommodation and great meals and being read more entertained and informed ever step of the way by our tour director great job. Then just to finish off, seven day cruise on Holland America, this part was just unbelievable first class.
Our trip was wonderful! 1 , Australia, Aug 2014
Our trip was wonderful! Accommodation excellent, tours ran to schedule and tour leaders very knowledgeable. A few delays with flights in China but apparently this is normal and soon sat back and let it all happen. Restaurants were high class and people were only too happy to help. Would suggest this trip to anyone who was considering these countries read more as I am sure we would have seen half the things if we had of tried to organise it ourselves. Thank you!
You can't take a bad photograph 2 Rockies Odyssey and Alaska Cruise , Australia , Aug 2014
Thanks Yvonne - after using several travel agents you are the most professional and helpful and we will certainly be back for all our future travel. As you are aware I broke my back on the APT whale watching Freedom of Choice tour on the high speed zodiac, so definitely won't recommend that excursion. I was also very disappointed with APT'S lack of read more response to my email on return. Probably won't travel with them again, though did enjoy the European river cruise we did with them earlier in the year. Canada is a wonderful destination. Beautiful scenery and so clean. You can't take a bad photograph. It certainly won't disappoint. The accommodation offered by APT was of a high standard but would have preferred staying at the Fairmont in Victoria and Whistler instead of accommodation used by APT, although it was still of a high standard. The Fairmont in Victoria is beautiful and I would have loved to stay there. I notice Scenic tours use them. Most of the travellers on my tour were disappointed with the welcome dinner. Before the dinner you were offered ONE drink while meeting the other people on the tour. You were then ushered into a dining room to sit. Before the meal was served a waiter then came and put prices for wine on the table. You then had to pay for your drinks. On a welcome meal you would at least expect ONE glass of wine included with your meal, especially as this was your FIRST meal on the tour. Nearly everyone made a comment about how mean it was. The meal included at the Fairmont Lake Louise fine dining was a wonderful memory and a must do. I would also recommend the Harley Motor Bike tour and the float plane option at Whistler. A great trip but be prepared to constantly put your hand in your pocket for wine, beers and meals not included. Certainly different to the river cruises where everything is included. The tour guide and coach driver were very helpful and friendly. I would have rated the tour a little higher but the last week, because of my injury, was a little limited. Will probably do Canada again, but the eastern coast and definitely no zodiac trips :(
APT cruise was absolutely excellent, faultless 6 Magnificent Europe - Paris to Prague , Australia, Jul 2014
Our APT river cruise through Europe including Paris and Prague was absolutely excellent, faultless. From the very outset of enquiring and then booking through Global Journeys our whole journey was seamless, dealt with by professionals who made certain all our problems or questions were alleviated. The main objective of all the APT staff was to ensure read more we enjoyed our holiday. Unique experiences of dining at the invitation of Princess Heide von Hohenzollern in her 14th century Namedy Castle and private concert by special invitation of Prince Constantin ein at his Liechtenstein City Palace in Vienna added to the personalised feel of the tour. The small villages (and larger cities) we visited were explored with knowledgeable, friendly, local guides, an aspect that APT pride themselves. We even had a local lady stop and spontaneously sing Ave Maria unaccompanied in the street of Miltenberg. Our 'day of the castles' was beautiful. Only one question that troubled us as we cruised past at least 30 wondrous castles situated on their picturesque hillsides, why are the grape vines grown vertically down the hillsides of the Rhine valley instead of horizontally? The answer is available when you visit a local Rudesheim vintner and walk amongst the vines on his family vineyard. All sightseeing off the ship was optional and we always had a choice of at least two tours. Different levels of fitness were catered for with slower, medium and fast paced groups offered and we had time to wonder or shop before the ship left dock. I have to mention the on board bicycles which were available for various tours, simply to explore the local village or ride along the river bank, great and very easy to ride. This was a particularly enjoyable European experience. We have been pleasantly spoilt by 5 star service travelling with APT.
Disappointed in the cabin, everything else was excellent 1 , Australia, Jul 2014
I had a wonderful time. I was disappointed in the cabin as we payed extra to get a balcony and it was just the sliding door with a railing over it. The single beds were not very large and the pillows on the first cruise were awful. Everything else was excellent.
A great trip and I would recommend it to anyone 1 , Australia, Jul 2014
The tour was very relaxing and enjoyable, we didn't want for anything as everything was taken care of. The weather was perfect, the tour guide very helpful and food was wonderful. The staff serving the meals and drinks were courteous and friendly. We had a great trip and I would recommend it to anyone.
Only criticism is Cable Beach Resort 1 Kimberley Complete , Australia, Jul 2014
Only criticism was on the last night at Cable Beach Resort, Broome. Some of us had to wait over 2 hours to get our luggage from the bus and to the room. Ours could not be found for longer than that. One person was given a key to a room, which on entering was already occupied. That evening at the Thai restaurant near the pool they were obviously short read more staffed. This is not APT's fault, but you need to know about it. Michelle White's help was very good.
Really enjoyed every day of this tour 4 Rockies Odyssey and Alaska Cruise , Australia, Jun 2014
The Rockies Odyssey & Alaska Cruise was one of the best tours we have ever done. Yvonne was excellent very professional and very helpful. Jacky the tour director was outstanding the best tour director we ever had. We highly recommend this tour as we had lots of times to explore all those beautiful places I would say Lake Louise was the best even to read more be fair all were great places and remember to walk to the tea house on the other side of the lake it was amazing walk bit long but worth every minute. The Rocky Mountaineer Gold Leaf is a must - amazing way to travel through the mountains, waterfalls and the scenery was very beautiful. The cruise to Alaska was great. We loved Skagway and the Yukon excursion but the mpst amazing place was Glacier Bay - do not worry if you are not in the front of the ship as the ship will stay there for a while. The soup served while we were watching was great. Overall we really enjoyed every day of this tour - APT are the best do not waste your time checking other tours this is the best.
