Wonderful Best of Spain tour! 6 , NSW, Australia, Sep 2018
My husband and I had a great time with 37 others on the above mentioned tour in September 2018. Booking with Madeline at Global Journeys was easy and she was always very helpful all the way. It was a pleasure to deal with Madeline.

The tour itself was from Madrid and finished in Barcelona. It was very well organised with enough time to enjoy each read more city. Optional excursions were offered and we joined in two of them, wished we had joined in more. The tour director was Rui, and he was really very good in making sure everyone was taken care of and communicated very clearly the itinerary each day. He was always pleasant, friendly, patient and funny. It was always great to be greeted by him each morning as we started the tour. The motor coach was comfortable with ample room for everyone and we rotated seats daily. The driver was good and drove us to our destinations safely and also made sure that we got on and off the coach safely.

The meals provided were delicious. The location of the hotels were convenient to explore each city by foot during our free time. The local guides were very knowledgeable and were prompt in meeting us at each specific city. We needn’t queue to enter the major attractions such as Alhambra and La Sagrada Familia, as tickets were already organised for us. It was most certainly a wonderful way to see Spain with Globus.
Wonderful tour enhanced by a superb Tour Guide 3 , QLD, Australia, Sep 2018
We travelled on the Best of Spain tour in late September/early October with six other Australians and thirty one Americans. We enjoyed this tour immensely as, for us, it was a perfect length - not too long and not too short. Overall it was quite leisurely but, even when there were strict times to be observed, our tour guide gave a feeling of no rush. read more He was absolutely amazing - kind, helpful, organised, extremely informative, funny and inclusive. We saw some amazing sights and beautiful cities with excellent local tour guides. Rui, however, was always there overseeing everything and ensuring that every person on our tour was looked after. We also had a kind and lovely coach driver, Andreas, who drove us from city to city with utmost care. The coach was so comfortable.

The hotels were excellent with the exception of the HCC St. Moritz in Barcelona where we felt that the staff were rather abrupt and the room was a little dusty. It was in a wonderful location, however, as were all of our hotels. Included meals were very good and we got ample opportunity to experience the local cuisine. The Optional Tours are well worth doing, in particular, Toledo and Montserrat. We were fortunate in that everyone on our tour got along very well largely due to Rui’s encouragement and positive approach and we all kept healthy which was a bonus. I would highly recommend this tour for a taste of southern Spain. Many thanks to Hannah for once again doing all arrangements for this tour in a highly professional yet friendly manner. We could not speak more highly of both Globus and Hannah at Global Journeys based upon this tour.
Great trip 6 , QLD, Australia, Aug 2016
This trip is for anyone looking for a short tour of the picks of Spain. At times I thought it was a little rushed, but if we took the time it would have been an eleven day trip. Optional excursions are well worth it. The one thing letting the tour down was the air-conditioning in most of the accommodations, most were too noisy for a 4 star hotel and read more it was a shame to say as the hotels were nice in all other respects, though the pillows were too soft and the beds too firm, but this seems to be typical of other places I stayed at even off the tour. The tour guides were great and enthusiastic and their English was no problem at all. The meals were mostly great with lots of variety. One of the other people in the group said this Globus tour was his sixth Globus tour, so I will definitely consider Globus for my next tour.
Great trip 4 , New Zealand, Jun 2016
Such a lot to see in a very short time! Good mix of organised time and time to do your own thing.
A great taster of Spain 7 , SA, Australia, Nov 2015
A great taster of Spain and chance to see the highlights. I would strongly suggest arriving earlier to see more of Madrid and staying on an extra day or two in Barcelona. Reasonable pace but an amount of walking on city tours and several long travel days that challenged a few people with fitness issues. Strongly recommend optional tours to Toledo and read more Montserrat and take time to visit Park Gruell, museums and the Catalonia Music Hall in Barcelona. Very supportive and knowledgeable guide and comfortable accommodation. Was expecting a small group so surprised that it was a large and full coach.
Tthanks for such a fabulous time. We'll be back 3 , QLD, Australia, Jun 2015
Absolutely loved our holiday in Spain. Our guide Samuel, and driver were terrific, very helpful, entertaining and informative. Loved the food, and all the experiences and the people on our bus were lots of fun. Some friendly suggestions...would like to have had the interior of Gaudi's church included. That was my main reason for visiting Spain, and read more was quite surprised not to have it included. We did go and do it on our own anyway. Would also like to have had Parc Guell included too. We did that on our own but couldn't get in sadly. We also couldn't get into see Picasso's gallery (also in Barcelona) after walking all the way there, but if it had been on the tour it wouldn't have been an issue. Not sure why those things weren't included as an extra. Would really have liked the hotels to have tea and coffee in the rooms too. Really missed that, but that may have been a cultural thing. One lunch stop was insanely busy, slow and disorganised, with incorrect orders brought out, and some people on our group quite disgruntled and stressed with the time limit. Samuel was there to do the best he could for everyone to keep the peace. May need to rethink that lunch stop for future. Overall very happy, thanks for such a fabulous time. We'll be back.
Thoroughly enjoyed the tour 2 , Australia, Sep 2014
We both thoroughly enjoyed the tour. Our guide Freda was obviously very experienced, so knowledgeable, and fantastic at managing such a varied group of people . Despite my husband saying that was going to be our last overseas trip, he is now thinking we could go on another Globus trip in Europe in 2-3 years time ! Yippee!
