This morning, fly to Puerto Montt and transfer to Puerto Varas. This region offers a combination of great outdoor adventures and a distinctive Chilean-German culture. Puerto Varas is an enchanting town located by the peaceful Lake Llanquihue and offers a sweeping natural setting. This evening is free to explore. From the lakeside promenade, enjoy the magnificent views of the distant volcanoes. Stroll around Puerto Varas to appreciate its traditional, unmistakably German architecture and its neighborhoods filled with well-tended gardens.

Along the way, pause at scenic viewpoints to admire panoramic vistas of the Petrohué River, the surrounding valley, the immense volcano's crater, and the vast expanse of Lake Llanquihue stretching below. Reach the ski center perched high on the volcano's slopes, where crisp mountain air and commanding views await.

Those who wish can take an optional chairlift ride, ascending even higher for breathtaking perspectives across the lakes, valleys, and snow‑capped Andes—a memorable finale to this spectacular journey. Return to Puerto Varas for a free evening to explore this beautiful village on your own.

These details reflect the cultural legacy that continues to shape daily life in the region. A visit to the German Colonial Museum offers deeper insight into this history, telling the story of the 19th‑century immigrants who settled here and helped transform the area. Explore preserved buildings, original machinery, and period furniture that vividly illustrate pioneer life and the ingenuity required to thrive in this landscape. The experience blends history, architecture, and lakeside beauty, creating a rich and rewarding glimpse into one of southern Chile's most distinctive communities.

Then travel to the base of Cerro Campanario, where you take the chairlift up to reach the summit for amazing 360° Bariloche views, considered one of the most beautiful views in Patagonia.

Located on the western shore of the “Río de la Plata”, the cosmopolitan city is filled with modern constructions while preserving old traditions, fascinating art and antiques, colonial architecture, and many charming corners. After free time at the hotel, visit the Barolo Palace for cocktails and canapés, a special Small Group Discovery exclusive.

LOCAL FAVORITE - SMALL GROUP EXCLUSIVE: The Barolo Palace is a masterpiece of architecture inspired by poetry, the only building in Buenos Aires conceived around Dante Alighieri's Divine Comedy. Enjoy a cocktail and canapes in the rooftop Salon 1923 for a special introduction to Buenos Aires.

Included Meals: Breakfast

The Boulevards of Buenos Aires

Visit the famous Avenida de Mayo that runs into the Plaza de Mayo, surrounded by the Casa Rosada (Government House), the Metropolitan Cathedral and the Cabildo (first City Hall, built during Spanish rule). At the other end of Avenida de Mayo, you find the Congress building.

We will include a stop and inside visit of the Metropolitan Cathedral. This imposing Neo-classical building is Argentina's main Catholic building. The mausoleum of General San Martin (the National Hero) is located inside the Cathedral, and Pope Francis used to celebrate religious services in this Cathedral when he was Cardinal of Buenos Aires.

Our next stop is La Boca, a colorful area with the famous street, Caminito, for a walking tour, full of local painters offering their painting of tango dancers. Visit Zanjón de Granados underground tunnels on a Small Group Exclusive. Later, return to the hotel in the afternoon and evening for free time to enjoy Buenos Aires on your own.

LOCAL FAVORITE - SMALL GROUP EXCLUSIVE: Zanjón de Granados underground tunnels houses all of Buenos Aires' history packed in an unusual place. The street it's on was once a small river—the zanjón, or gorge, of the property's name—where the first, unsuccessful attempt to found Buenos Aires took place in 1536. When the property's current owner—or custodian, as he prefers to be known, decided to develop what was then a run-down tenement, he began to discover all sorts of things beneath the house: pottery and cutlery, the foundations of past constructions, and a 500-foot network of tunnels that has taken over 20 years to excavate. These were once used to channel water, but like the street itself, they were sealed after San Telmo's yellow-fever outbreaks. With the help of historians and architects, they've now been restored, and the entire site has been transformed into a private museum, where the only exhibit is the red-brick building itself.

Included Meals: Breakfast

Dining, Dancing & Dazzling

Head north and visit La Recoleta, one of the city's most glamorous neighborhoods. Along Alvear Avenue, see countless upscale stores, restaurants, cafes, and boutiques. The Recoleta Cultural Center, the National Museum of Fine Arts, and the Palais de Glace are important parts of Buenos Aires' cultural activities. Drive by many beautiful parks, and see the Floralis Genérica at United Nations Park, and the Libertador and Figueroa Alcorta Avenues.

Then, visit the Recoleta Cemetery. Founded in 1822, it is one of the most prominent cemeteries in the world. Appreciate its ornate mausoleums, sculptures, and vaults made by famous local and international artists. Many national heroes, presidents, well-known writers, scientists, and artists are buried here.

End your tour in Palermo, a district with beautiful parks and artificial lakes. Enjoy some free time to visit one of the trendiest neighborhoods in Buenos Aires: Palermo Soho and Palermo Hollywood. Stroll around the streets filled with designer boutiques, fashionable cafés, and trendy restaurants. Tonight, enjoy a farewell dinner and show at a Tango house hosted by your Tour Director.

LOCAL FAVORITE - SMALL GROUP EXCLUSIVE: Top off your adventure at a famous tango club. The tango and Argentina go hand in hand and tonight you will visit a local milonga, or tango house, where professional tango dancers teach the traditional techniques of the Argentine Tango. After your lesson, enjoy a farewell dinner featuring Argentine steaks and other local specialties. Top off the evening when the professionals delight you with a tango show featuring the dance as it has evolved through the ages!
