Sistine Chapel was the one to remember 1 , NSW, Australia, Mar 2017
This was the best trip I had due mainly to Tour Director, Driver and my fellow travellers. For travellers who want to see as much as possible in a short space of time this tour is the best there is. However, one needs to be pretty fit as it sets a grueling pace. All the places we visited had something memorable to offer but the Sistine Chapel was the read more one to remember for me. I am looking for a tour in Eastern Europe preferably with the same tour Director, he was excellent! So thank you Global Journeys!
Disappointing Trafalgar Tour 4 Splendours of Japan , NSW, Australia, Mar 2017
Very happy with Global Journeys, Georgie was very helpful and very patient with our booking. Unfortunately we are very disappointed with Trafalgar itinerary! It started with a nice welcome reception... but then it started to go downhill!
The reason we booked with Trafalgar is that we believed they do the research and put the energy to put together read more something special ! That's why we paid more to get a better service! Unfortunately Trafalgar was not up to standard this time, so many little things that need a great improvement. Every visit seemed to be rushed. We didn't even have a single tour guide for any cities we went to get an in depth history of the town. Very poor itinerary. It was mainly seeing temples.

While we were there there was sumo fighting and also Geisha dancing on and there was not even a mention of it to see if we wanted to have that as an optional or even a pamphlet to see if we wanted to do that on our own time!
I think the tour leader should have this information in advance and share it with the travelers! They are the ones who need to do the research before hand as they are familiar with seasonal programs! Food experiences were ok , till the end where we went to Ninja restaurant and all the waiters were confused! Which made the last night of being together not as enjoyable! On the other hand we truly enjoyed the company of our group mates, that made us really happy to meet amazing people from all around the world :) and that's what we take from this trip :) looking forward to more bookings with Global Journeys.
European Whirl 1 , Qld, Australia, Mar 2017
Tour was most enjoyable, extremely well organised and efficiently carried out. The Tour Director was very easy to get along with and the Driver received spontaneous applause for his driving in Paris and Rome, where chaos reigned supreme on the roads! The one disappointment for us was the Hotel in Rome. A tiny room with a single bed with a trundler bed read more on the floor with a wafer thin mattress. It was not really suitable for a 72 year old, getting up and down. The air conditioning either did not work or was set at a high temperature and several calls to the front desk were not successful in lowering the temperature, so we had to open a window at the end of the room for some relief. The bedding on the trundler consisted of 2 sheets and the following day a blanket was added! This was not very appropriate. The hotel could not supply an additional pillow, as they were all sold out!
Very good trip 3 Iceland Highlights (Winter) , SA, Australia, Mar 2017
We really enjoyed this trip with Trafalgar. The hotels were a great quality, the places visited were unhurried and extremely informative. The Tour guide Gulla was invested in keeping us happy, which we appreciated. The tomato greenhouse was amazing to see as well as the tomato soup for lunch. the waterfalls, the geothermal plant, the blue lagoon, the read more horses, the museums were all as I would expect from Iceland. They were all amazing!! A couple of suggestions though - extra activities would have been welcomed. In saying that, Gulla organized a snowmobiling ride on a glacier and also organized a final night to see the northern lights even though they weren't on the trip itinerary. These we paid extra for, but could have been included in the optional extras package. Luckily Gulla realized we wanted these extras and organized them for us at the last minute.

Booking through Global journeys was so super easy. Yvonne contacted me within the day of our tour quote request and everything was sorted within a couple of days. All paper work was received in good time and everything was complete. I would definitely book the Global Journeys again!
13 Day Splendours of Japan with Hiroshima 17 Splendours of Japan with Hiroshima , New Zealand, Mar 2017
We arrived a few days early to rest up from our long flight. Made friends with a lady who was also doing our tour so had the chance to try the subways and trains with her well traveled help. It was over whelming at first with so many people around us and so much traffic. With Andrea's help we soon got sorted. By the time the tour was about to start read more we were up to speed. So I do recommend to give yourselves time to get use to the constant attention in the hotel and any shops that you go into. You are greeted by everyone with words of welcome (in Japanese) I also suggest that you learn a few words of Japanese to say thank you, good morning and excuse me. The Japanese constantly say these things. If you show respect back by bowing and greeting in return it won't go un-noticed and appreciated.

Food....a few words about food. There are so many places to eat all styles of food, at first it seemed there was nothing but restaurants. Japanese pride themselves on presentation of anything and definitely of food. Before you travel checkout on line all information about where you are going and styles of food. Don't be afraid to try new tastes.

Hotels range in style and comfort...as do the bathrooms! It can be a challenge at first to find how to turn the shower on, easy you might think, but it can be confusing. Toilets in Japan are amazing, they play music when sat on or the sound of running water, you can wash front and back! Some even blow dry afterwards! Toiletries are amazing and fun. They can provide tooth brush and toothpaste, shaver and small tube of shaving cream, combs, soaps, etc etc have fun discovering the different things that are provided. The beds are a lot firmer than most people would be use to but I was amazed to find that it wasn't a problem and I am a fussy bed person.

The tour its self was wonderful. We saw a wise range of what Japan has to offer. We were lucky to see Mt Fuji at its most beautiful. Clear blue sky and snow capped mountain. Picture perfect! We traveled at the beginning of March and it was still cold, which I love. Washing clothes was a problem, hotels will do laundry but they are expensive! We only found one laundry-mate. I recommend washing out underwear when you have a two night stop. Take clothes to layer for cold or hot and a good raincoat...again research weather for the time of year you are going. Somethings will not be everything you would be expect...roll with it. Have fun and if you are like me and buy lots of souvenirs allow space in your suitcase for that or end up buying extra suitcases. Keep in mind how many bags you can take on planes and buses. Last words of wisdom research, research, research the places you will be visiting. Socks! carry a pair of warm socks to put on as you have to take your shoes of in some places and carry packets of tissues in case of no toilet paper! It happens! Enjoy as we did! It was wonderful! Loved it!
Raw nature landscapes along the journey 2 , NSW , Australia, Mar 2017
Global Journeys have taken good care about my bookings, thanks Hannah. The trip to South America Landscapes, Chile, Argentina and Brazil....this service was not the service I would expect from Trafalgar. I have travelled to 60 countries solo, and done travelling with Trafalgar several times, also my friends joined Trafalgar because of my recommendations. read more But this trip was not the case, unfortunately our Tour Director, Rodrigo was not at all friendly to me!! We were in a small group of 6 couple partners and myself solo. I was alone and mute, and 2 dinners I just did not attend simply due to being isolation. I paid a single supplement, paid all tips including TD, and wrote an excellent Trafalgar feedback, I had to go with the flow peacefully. "The whole idea of travelling is to promote friendship and peace". However, overall I had a safe and healthy trip with nice photos. My highlights were Patagonia and Iguaçu Falls, such an amazing nature so serene and tranquility ambience. The TD has not given me our group photo yet which was taken with his mobile at Iguaçu Falls in Brazil.
Spain Portugal and Morocco 5 Spain, Morocco and Portugal (Winter) , New Zealand, Feb 2017
We had a wonderful busy trip. Javier was very good as a tour director. He was very relaxed and nothing was ever an issue. There were absolutely no problems on the trip with the travel or people. It just seemed to be effortless for him to manage it well. We were very busy and I would personally have liked one more night in Portugal. The hotels read more were all a good standard. A couple of the buffets could have been improved but that is part of travel. We did most of the optional extras and would certainly recommend these to all to get the best of the trip. I would not hesitate to recommend Trafalgar as a coach tour company.
Enjoyable time. 2 Highlights of Spain and Portugal (Winter) , ACT, Australia, Jan 2017
It was a fantastic tour with a very responsible director, knowledgeable guides, skilled driver and a fabulous itinerary. We would like to recommend it to everyone.
A great tour 1 Highlights of Spain and Portugal (Winter) , NSW, Australia, Jan 2017
We loved this tour. This was our first trip with Trafalgar but my 5th European coach trip and I was impressed with Trafalgar. The coach was a great quality, wifi on the coach (after the first couple of days) was fantastic. Hotel quality was (mostly) very good. Our TD Maria was so organized. Everything was seamless. Our driver was great (talented). read more I would definitely recommend this tour with Trafalgar based on our experience.
Over promised and under delivered 3 Iceland Highlights (Winter) , NSW, Australia, Jan 2017
The experience of booking this tour with Global Journeys was a joy, as always, and we will book with you again. However, Trafalgar tours are expensive than most of the other tour operators, so a better quality of accommodation, food and itinerary is expected. We believe the tour did not meet our expectations. The welcome dinner at Reykjavik was just read more sliced tomatoes on a piece of bread, and the farewell dinner was just soup and bread. Hotel accommodation on two nights out of four nights was very ordinary. The tour guide would benefit from acquiring better people and planning skills.
Great holiday! 2 Best of Italy , NSW, Australia, Dec 2016
Our family holiday in Italy with Trafalgar was terrific. The Best of Italy itinerary was comprehensive but the pace of travel was such that we still had plenty of free time to explore on our own. Our fellow travellers and tour director were friendly and engaging. We all got along extremely well. The services provided by Global Journeys in organising read more the trip were professional and we look forward to working with them again.
10 Day Imperial Europe (Winter) 1 Imperial Europe (Winter) , NSW, Australia, Dec 2016
The tour was terrific and it was a winter wonderland in the snow. The tour guide was always concerned that each traveller's needs were met and always asking each traveller if she could do anything to make the trip more pleasant. Agnes Kruger from Trafalgar is a terrific tour guide and I couldn't recommend her enough to anyone. The accommodation unfortunately read more was not in the centre of each city as promised by Trafalgar as the meals on the optional tours were wanting however despite these deficiencies Agnes was there making each day work without issue. I couldn't take in enough of the winter wonderland, the history there was so much to see and enjoy. Thank you.
Spain Trip Lacking Substance 9 Spanish Wonder , QLD, Australia, Dec 2016
Booking with Global Journeys was easy and professional. Trafalgar, when compared to Globus, lacks a lot of substance in their tours. I was disappointed with the lack of attention to detail, tours lacked substance, we had to wait in queues for tickets which should have been prearranged. Local guides were also lacking in intelligent knowledge and we were read more treated like idiots in some circumstances. We were late to one particular appointment not as a result of the group, but the tour guide. This resulted in our tour being cut short and we were not able to view what we had travelled to see because the sun had already set. The group should have been introduced to each other at the commencement of the tour so we knew a little about each other. A common & successful Globus initiative. Optional Excursions were nothing out of the box & should have been included as part of the main tour.
Trafalgar trip to Europe Christmas Markets 1 Prague, Vienna and Budapest (Winter) , VIC, Australia, Dec 2016
Global Journeys organised the trip for us and they were professional and efficient. They kept us up-to-date with the organisation fo the tour and the online system allowed for easy access.
Exciting trip with experiences of various types of culture and food 2 Vietnam and the Temples of Angkor , NSW, Australia, Dec 2016
It was our third Trafalgar tour and loving it, see the world from the inside. Love the local experiences, secret treasures, and the attentive care from all the travel directors.
Excellent trip 4 Splendours of Japan , VIC, Australia, Dec 2016
The trip had an overall excellent itinerary, especially for those who enjoy both the scenery of large cities as well as the countryside of Japan. The booking made through Global Journeys was initially somewhat disjointed when my agent left and was replaced with another. However, once the trip was underway, everything sailed smoothly.
Wonderful Sightseeing Trip 5 Spain, Morocco and Portugal (Winter) , New Zealand, Nov 2016
Excellent , fast paced trip for some fantastic views and cities visited . No time to relax but excellent for updating your world knowledge and sights.
European Whirl 1 , QLD, Australia, Nov 2016
The trip was exactly as expected , a whirl through Europe. The tour was better than expected with many hidden delights along the way. The Tour director Kevin made the trip with his vast knowledge and keen sense of humour . There were many times he could quite easily have got frustrated with us but he kept his wit and charm. We now have a good understanding read more of where we will return to.
Explored Spain, Morocco & Portugal 7 Spain, Morocco and Portugal (Winter) , VIC, Australia, Oct 2016
Our Tour Guide Rafael, was delightful. He managed the entire tour without a glitch and met every persons needs along the way. He went above and beyond my expectations in providing each of us with group and individual tour photographs, and provided support, guidance and assistance even if we chose to skip a tour options. He found maps, launderettes, read more automated teller machines, and taxis at a moments notice and still managed to get all 37 of us fed three times a day and accommodated at exquisite hotels each night. He was informative and friendly without showing any favouritism. Thank you Rafael from the bottom of my heart! The tour itself was an extraordinary and exceptionally positive experience and has given me a strong desire to travel more widely.
Perfect portugal 5 Best of Portugal , NSW, Australia, Oct 2016
I have only one comment on the Trafalgar Best of Portugal Tour. Everything was excellent, but I felt it was degrading for our superb tour guide to have to feel he almost needed to beg the participants to pay a gratuity at the end. After giving such superb service, it would be better if the tour operators paid the guides and drivers a decent wage and read more built it into the cost of the trip.
