Our tour guide Chris was a very knowledgeable historian which added such value to the trip. I loved the whole trip, although it was probably a bit faster paced and full on than I had imagined. We saw so many wonderful places. I have been on other tours with other companies, and generally accommodation and included food was better on this tour. Hotels were also located more centrally which made it easy to go and do your own thing when time allowed. We did most of the optional tours, and while a bit pricey at times, really added positively to the overall experience and I am really glad I did them. At times you felt a bit rushed and I would have loved to linger in some places, but the tour definitely gave the taste of Italy and made me want to go back for more at some other stage.

The optional mini tours at times were not value for money, considering the initial cost of the tour. This was a much discussed topic among all the passengers.

Our Tour Guide Marco Cini was excellent. We did all the extra options - next time we might choose to give ourselves a little down time. Most of the optionals were worth doing. Yesterday I returned to Australia. The tour Best of Italy was magnificent with a wonderful guide. I also took another Trafalgar tour whilst in UK namely Best of Devon & Cornwall. As you are aware it was mostly wet and humid in the UK with major flooding. My wife and I had a wonderful time on our honeymoon doing the 'Best Of Italy and Greece' tour. It was amazing. The Best of Italy tour was fantastic. We really enjoyed every bit of it. The Tour Director, Tony, Australian born, fluent Italian speaking man, was the best you could get. His knowledge of the history & cultures of the different regions was amazing. We had 36 on the coach - not a full complement, but we thought it was great. People could spread out ...read more & everybody in our group was on time, so that made our guide & driver happy. The catering for our Gluten Free meals was wonderful - I have not eaten as much Gluten free pasta in 6 months as I did in 2 weeks in Italy. The hotels were great. Some not as luxurious as others but always central. The coach was very comfortable & the driver very skilled, coping with the mad traffic in Italy, especially in Roma! We felt good value for money and the optional excursions offered were very good. We did almost all of them. All in all a great time. I would recommend Trafalgar to anyone. Global Journeys was very good as well - did everything that they promised.

Really enjoyed and this was our first experience of touring in a large group by coach. This tour was all go and whist some accommodation locations did not lend themselves to a little more free time, most did.
