Great trip with an excellent itinerary. So many highlights particularly in Scotland and Ireland. Accommodation was fine but some dinners were only average.

Booking our trip through Global Journeys was very easy and hassle free. Everything went very smoothly. The price was the cheapest we could get anywhere else. This was our first time doing an Insight tour. It was all pretty good but we felt our guide lacked a bit of experience to make our tour more enjoyable. Some of our accommodation was really good read more but a couple would have only been a 3 1/2 star. It was very good to have only 32 passengers on the tour and they were all very nice people. We all got along well with each other. We will probably book another tour with Insight in the future. And we will definitely be booking through Global Journeys for our future holidays. Thank you very much Hannah!

Very knowledgeable tour director (Grant) and our driver (Peter) was an excellent driver. The chateau although quaint was a long way from any activity, somewhat isolated. The QO in Amsterdam was a very poor choice of accommodation for a tour such as this. It too was way out from the city in a commercial waste land with no real choice of restaurants or read more pubs. The NH hotels in Brussels & Bruges & Rotterdam were in excellent locations & of a high standard we could not fault. Most breakfasts were very good except the QO in Amsterdam, service there was very slow, very limited menu & staff were not coordinated. Tours both inclusive & optional very good. We will certainly look at doing another tour.
Originally had booked this trip for last year but due to medical reasons, had to rebook. Jemma was most helpful on both occasions and I highly recommend her and Global Journeys for future bookings. This was my fourth Insight tour and although I was worried that the lavender and sunflowers wouldn't be in full bloom, it was lovely to see fields of poppies read more and the start of the lavender.
Sometimes I felt that this was more of a foodie and wine tour, and free afternoons weren't really that free by the time you finally got into your hotel room and received your luggage, especially if you had optionals booked. As a solo traveller sharing a room with a stranger, often the hotels hadn't been accommodated for, and a lot of time was spent rearranging the beds, which was faster than waiting for housekeeping. All in all, it was lovely to see many places in a short time and this wouldn't have been possible travelling by car on your own.
Sometimes I felt that this was more of a foodie and wine tour, and free afternoons weren't really that free by the time you finally got into your hotel room and received your luggage, especially if you had optionals booked. I thoroughly enjoyed this tour and highly recommend it. We saw so many places of historical significance, many of which are UNESCO World Heritage listed, and some stunning scenery. The itinerary was well planned; we visited large cities, smaller cities and towns and some very quaint villages - so much variety. More time in some places would have been read more appreciated, as with most coach tours.
I did most of the optional extras and enjoyed them, although it meant missing free time to wander or just have a rest. In my opinion, the tour to Cordoba is a must, even though extra time in Seville would have been enjoyed also. If you do not choose to do the optional dinner followed by a horse and carriage ride which finishes in the beautiful Plaza de Espana, Seville, I recommend you visit this magnificent Plaza on your own. It would be preferable to have a visit to this Plaza in the included sightseeing.
Our vivacious Tour Director, Tania, enhanced our enjoyment of the tour with her caring nature, great organisation and good historical comments. The coach was very comfortable with good Wifi, and our cheerful and skilled driver Filipe looked after the coach, and us, very well. Accommodation was mostly very good, although in a couple of places a more central location would have been appreciated.
My booking through Global Journeys went smoothly, and I will use them again. Thanks to Yvonne for keeping me informed, and obtaining my documents earlier since I left Australia some time before the tour started.

Best of Spain & Portugal

This was a very well planned and executed tour. Our tour director, Dawn, was very organised and knowledgeable about all the areas we toured. Jamie was our highly skilled and careful driver who presented an immaculate coach every morning and was always there to help with luggage, water etc. The coach was excellent, with lots of leg room, large clean read more windows and good wifi, hand sanitisers at both entry doors was much appreciated.
We thought all the accommodation was of a very high standard and in good locations, perhaps Madrid was a bit out of the city but public transport was within a few minutes walk. We didn’t do a lot of the optional experiences and were surprised that a lot of our fellow travellers just booked them all before leaving home, some were good value and some not. The optional dinners while a bit expensive but the fun we had with our fellow travellers made up for it, especially the dinner in Lisbon with a horse and carriage ride, it was priceless.
All in all a great holiday with a fun group of people from several countries. Would definitely do Insight again.

Tour well planned with a mix of medieval architecture, french art, and wine and oil tastings. Each event was an enjoyable experience. There was enough time to explore most towns we visited and easy access to meals. Some of these free time meals were highlights of our time in France. Perhaps our most memorable experience was the Lascaux Caves near Perigeuex read more in the south west.

I enjoyed every single day during this 18 day trip. My first time travelling with Insight Vacations and certainly will do it again. All in all, the standard of accommodations, meals, sightseeing etc is similar to my life style in Sydney. I love the quality and comfort therefore the trip was fabulous. Being a spiritual person, by practising 'mindfulness' read more about my surroundings, I focused on the positive perspective from my inner self. Yeah, another enjoyable trip for me. Happiness comes from inner self.
As a first timer to group travel and a single traveller I was hesitant. Not to worry the organisation was perfect. A plus was a well behaved group all intent on a good time which filtered through the trip.
This was our 10th Insight Tour and it was a very well organised tour. Cities and Sightseeing were excellent as was the food. The Hotels were some of the best we have stayed in. We even ventured out by ourselves in St Petersburg and Moscow with no trouble. The only downside was that there was about 3 days that involved very long travel days in the coach, read more with the longest being the Moscow to Minsk day that was over 700Km and 10Hrs with only a few stops and a quick lunch break. The next being the Copenhagen to Stockholm at 600Km and over 8 Hrs. But this didn't detract from the overall fantastic tour. Maybe it should be a few days longer.
The Tour Director was average and we only had 26 passengers, he relied a lot on the local guides which were good. The optional extras are always hard to judge if they are worth it. We did those that we thought were reasonable as most of them were expensive. Those that did the Russian Ballet were disappointed and the Lithuanian Dinner didn't have Traditional Dancers and would of been better going to a restaurant ourselves. Overall I would recommend this tour but be prepared for some long bus days. As usual the booking process with Global Journeys and Yvonne was very easy and always recommend them.

The weather in Scandinavia was fantastic; so good that it probably would never be repeated. To be in Bergen on Norwegian National Day (17 May) was a highlight and something that I would recommend to anyone travelling to this area. Copenhagen is a dynamic and interesting city - very different to Australia.
We would recommend travelling with Insight Travel. Our trip to Spain and Portugal was very well organised and everything went smoothly. It is great to sit back and enjoy all the wonderful places and experiences and have no worries. Our tour director, Dan, was excellent - his experience and knowledge was vast. It was a pleasure.

An Interesting and Enlightening Tour 6

My wife and I took the the first tour of the year, starting in early May. We were very lucky with the weather-no rain and temperatures in the mid to high 20's. Overall we found the tour very interesting with each location offering something different. It was enlightening to listen to the local tour guides provide a different slant on historical matters, read more depending on which country we were in.
The hotels were of a high standard, although many were some distance from the centre. Unfortunately the quality of the included hotel dinners was disappointing which we found surprising based on past experiences with Insight. There was little variety to choose from and no traditional food on offer, with the exception of the Yantra Grand Hotel in Veliko Tarnova.
We only did two optional activities. I would recommend the Rila Monastery excursion from Sofia but could not recommend the harbour dinner cruise in Dubrovnik. The dinner was terrible and the drinks package was not what was offered. But despite these negatives the overall experience was very good and we learned a great deal about this region.
Finally a big thank you to Yvonne at Global Journeys for her advice and organization, thus helping to make this another very successful tour for us.

This was our third Insight Vacations tour. They have all been great.
What we particularly like about Insight is the extra legroom on the coaches, the smaller tour group numbers, and the knowledgeable tour guides. Our tour director, Dan, was fantastic.
With only 2 weeks between booking our holiday and departing, Madeline at Global Journeys managed read more to seamlessly arrange everything, without a single hitch, and at a great, discounted price. The money that Global Journeys saved us paid for our extra hotel accommodation before and after the trip. Thanks, Madeline.

Travelling in the coach was a delight, smooth and roomy with a great driver and spectacular scenery - a pleasant change from the self driving we usually do. Included excursions were varied and interesting. Hotels were on the most part in central locations with one exception. Dom, our tour guide did just the right amount of commentary.

Our first Insight tour was great. Nice accommodation and tours, plus a very good guide. Portugal is a great destination as it has good food and wine, plus its cheap compared to other countries in Europe.
The 15 day Insight tour of Spain and Portugal exceeded all of our expectations. Amazing sights, great hotels and meals and an excellent tour guide and driver. Some days were a bit hectic but there were a couple of relaxing days in the middle at Costa de Sol.
We did all of the optional extras and really enjoyed most of them. Overall a great value read more and fairly comprehensive tour of Spain & Portugal. We would like to say how easy and efficient our tour booking was with Global Journeys. A special thanks to our Consultant Yvonne who kept us informed at all times.

Have travelled with Insight 2 previous times and they are really the best. Our favourite city was Seville, could have stayed longer there and also at the Costa Del Sol. Was very surprised by Morocco the whole trip through this area was so fascinating, we felt very safe all the away, and also our guide was absolutely fantastic.
