Treasures of Spain, Portugal & Morocco (Nov-Apr)   6 Treasures of Spain, Portugal & Morocco , VIC, Australia, Mar 2018
From day 1 the tour seemed rushed and poorly organised. In real terms we saw nothing of Madrid other than sitting in a bus and having sites pointed out. On one occasion we went for a short walk around the palace area. Visiting Prado Museum was great but it too was rushed. Basically we should have had two nights with free time to explore the city at read more leisure.

While some hotels were very good, many in Morocco were in state of disrepair. I.e. rain flooded the floor due to windows leaking. The fix was to close the shutters and put the room in darkness. One hotel, the evening meal was what was served at breakfast Or was it the breakfast meal they served in the evening.

As for the belly dancing night out, I could have done better myself. Not a patch on what Insight provided in Turkey. It was the pits. One excursion was cancelled, not enough people, what a joke And for whatever the reason in Morocco, we travelled the day along one highway just to return along the same highway to get to our next destination.. Let me say however Jorge our tour director worked his butt off.

Given it was Insight it was a disappointing tour.
Wonders of Egypt in Winter 3 Wonders of Egypt (Winter) , VIC, Australia, Mar 2018
A truly memorable trip to Egypt. A journey back to ancient times with so many wonderful memories to keep forever. Everything was extremely well organized for us to sit back and enjoy it! As always, dealing with Yvonne was a breeze. Thanks, Yvonne, you make it so easy for us. Will continue to book with you in future.
Wonderful Jordan! 4 Jordan Experience with Dead Sea (Winter) , New Zealand, Jan 2018
We were very impressed with the level of service provided by the Jordanian counterpart of Insight Vacations on this tour which was UTA. We were told we won't be provided with transfer from airport as we were a day ahead of the scheduled tour by our agent in NZ, but nevertheless we were totally amazed when we were met at Amman Airport by UTA and was read more whisked through customs seamlessly and were transported to our hotel like VIPs.

Incredible Petra (truly one of the Seven Wonders of the World) and Jerash were what we came for, and we weren't disappointed. Our tour guide Ali Harb is the best. Super knowledgeable, entertaining and very helpful, he has to be the Godfather of tour guides in Jordan!

The Dead Sea was a great extension and a wonderful way to finish an action packed tour by relaxing and soaking up in the therapeutic salty waters.....wish we had an extra day to enjoy it. I think winter is the best time here at the Dead Sea.
Great sights and easily paced 5 Easy Pace Budapest, Vienna & Prague (Winter) , New Zealand, Dec 2017
Hotels were great throughout the tour, with beautiful sights and very informative local guides. While breakfasts were great at all the hotels, the same can't be said with the dinners provided. They were mediocre at best. Our tour director was very helpful, but could do with a good dose of personality and enthusiasm! This is our second tour with Insight, read more having done a previous one to Spain/Portugal which was simply fabulous on all fronts, so therefore this tour was a tad below our expectations.
Highlight trip - made Xmas magical   7 Alpine Christmas Markets , QLD, Australia, Dec 2017
This was such a great trip! having never done a group tour before - we were blown away with how easy everything was. The itinerary was fantastic and was jam packed with things to do and we saw so many magical Xmas places including snow. Our tour had quite a few older people but I actually think a younger group would have loved it as well as we did so read more much. We also travelled with my parents in law which was the perfect family trip and we could never have done it on our own as the driver navigated cities and icy roads. Would definitely recommend.
Winter wonderland   5 Alpine Christmas Markets , WA, Australia, Nov 2017
We had booked this trip primarily for the Christmas markets and it certainly didn't disappoint! From the start of the tour to the very end, it is perhaps the best tour I have been on to date. It was the first time travelling with Insight Vacations and our tour director, Sue Mason, and our driver, Paolo, were absolutely fantastic. All the little things read more she did along the way made the trip. We met so many great people on the tour which made it all the more better. We were lucky to have snow for the entire trip but nothing that stopped us doing anything. The most memorable place was Lake Titisee in the Black Forest where our room overlooked the lake in all its winter glory. All in all, a trip full of memories and great fun.
Iceland is amazing! 5 Scenic Iceland & the Northern Lights , NSW, Australia, Oct 2017
Iceland is amazing! I had just done another coach tour with a different group demographic and found the group for the Iceland tour did not gel as well, although they were friendly enough. A little bit unorganised at times with hotel check-ins but overall a lovely trip.
A great experience. 3 Best of Spain & Portugal , WA, Australia, Oct 2017
Spain has been on our bucket list for a while and we were not disappointed. Our coach tour gave us a good overview of Spain and we certainly saw and did a lot in a short time. Like all coach tours there are times when you feel a bit rushed and being moved on mass to the next sight, but overall it was a good experience.
Not so much touring in style...! 24 Best of Spain & Portugal , VIC, Australia, Oct 2017
Not sure what the slogan 'the art of touring in style' and VIP tags attached to our luggage meant. The tour was just average and like any other tours. No hotel staff greeted us with welcome drinks as VIP and, we had to queue in line to enter the museums, churches, etc.. like any other groups. As we had paid more (than the price offered by its competitor), read more we expected the hotels to be better than those provided by its competitor, whom we usually travel with. Yet, we found the hotels, except for Dom Pedro in Lisbon, are of lower standard and located too far away from city centres.

While the horse riding could be part of the optional dinner, I believe visiting Plata de Espana in Seville should have been part of the city tour inclusion as this world heritage site is admission free, and only 10 minutes drive from the hotel. The inclusive dinners, except the one served at Vincci Albayzín, were average and rather disappointing, Conclusion; Not so happy or keen to recommend the tour or Insight to our friends and families. Beware of the optional tours and dinners! They could cost you an extra Euro 550 on top the already pricey tour.
Great trip 2 , VIC, Australia, Oct 2017
Would definitely book with Global Journeys again, Hannah was extremely helpful and prompt. The cruise was probably too short as so much crammed in, but was perfect for our time frame. If time allowed, would go on a longer cruise to spend longer at each island. Had a ball!
Wonderful Spain/Portugal Trip 5 Grand Spain & Portugal , VIC, Australia, Oct 2017
I have just returned from an 18 day Grand Tour of Spain and Portugal. It was a most enjoyable, comfortable and happy trip. We had an excellent Tour Director Enzo Buonomo, who attended to every detail with ease and showed unlimited patience, kindness and compassion. His knowledge of the region was amazing and he often would surprise us with edible treats read more of the areas we were travelling through. We had a large group of 40 but the coach was very roomy and I loved the seat rotation every day.

We all got on well together. There were 7 from USA & the rest Aussies. I found the accommodation first class. Food however I was not keen on. Some of the included dinners were terrible. The optional extras were very pricey but the ones for trips were worth it but the optional dinners weren't worth the price - 58 - 65 Euros was exorbitant. Highly recommend the morning tour into France, Montserrat, Gaudi's Park Guell and Segovia.

On the whole the trip was good value for the money I paid and would definitely travel with Insight Vacations again. I would also like to thank Georgie from Global Journeys for her time and trouble in organising this trip for me and would highly recommend this company too.
A Lifetime of Memories   6 Country Roads of Italy , NSW, Australia, Oct 2017
Thank you Hannah at Global Journeys, for all your assistance. From your professional, friendly and efficient responses to all questions regarding the best tour to accommodate both mine and my mother's travel wants and needs; to the seamless and faultless planning and booking of what has been a trip of a lifetime, filled with wonderful experiences and read more memories for us both. We have nothing but praise for all aspects of our travel arrangements and the tour itself and will definitely be making Global Journeys our first port of call in the planning of future holidays.

The Country Roads of Italy route and experiences gave a well rounded and well paced insight into ancient and modern day Italy. Our enthusiastic pocket rocket Tour Director, Beatrice and our ever cheerful and accommodating driver, Guiseppe, successfully made every effort to make sure that this trip fulfilled all expectations. And not least of all, we were fortunate to share our experiences with a group of the most friendly, congenial and like minded fellow travellers. Please take me back... I want to do it again!
Fantastic Holiday in Budapest, Vienna & Prague 5 Easy Pace Budapest, Vienna & Prague , NSW, Australia, Sep 2017
Fantastic holiday with equally fantastic Tour Director and Driver. The food was generally great and the Tour director was very friendly and cheerful. The driver was very jovial and the drive throughout was very smooth.
There were so many things to do and dine in these beautiful cities. Thumbs up for the welcome dinner in a very beautiful ornate restaurant. read more This was the best ever welcome dinner of all Insight tours that I have been. We all had a blast!!
Sicily and Malta 5 Sicily in Depth with 6-Day Malta Option , VIC, Australia, Sep 2017
What a blast! I have visited places with history dating back 1000 and 1000s of years. The scenery was stunning and varied. Our group mixed socially, swapped email addresses and had many fun times together. In Sicily Franchesca B was a patient and well informed tour guide, arranging and informing the group constantly. Not so for our guides in Malta read more unfortunately; however, the accommodation in Malta at Le Meridien was fabulous. So many highlights and great memories!

Now I await my luggage ....6 days overdue from Rome. Rome and Abu Dhabi airports are chaos and I would avoid them if I could. On my way over I missed connecting flights due to Alitalia's lack of organisation, and my luggage again came on a flight different than the one I was on. Yvonne is a travel agent I would happily endorse as she has helped the planning come together and was very obliging. I would also recommend Insight Tours to family and friends.
Wonderful 17-day grand Italy and Sicily trip with Insight Vacations   19 Grand Italy & Sicily , Australia, Sep 2017
Part from visiting all famous city attractions, also we went a lot of beautiful old towns where they are either at the top of the hill, or along the coast, or at the small island. Stunning views of Mt. Etna, lakes, coast line & landscapes. Attached photo is the view of Lake Maggiore from our room at Grand Hotel Dino Baveno, Italy.
Wonderful trip except National Park just too crowded. 2 Eastern Capitals & Dalmatian Riviera , New Zealand, Sep 2017
Wonderful trip except National Park just too crowded - they need to reduce the visitor numbers or have them go one way only.

Rained quite a lot during mid-September otherwise it was overall a good trip. Dubrovnik is beautiful, along with the long drive along the coast.
An excursion into a very interesting and not well known part of Europe 2 Warsaw & The Baltic States , NSW, Australia, Sep 2017
A lot was packed into 8 days and possibly an additional day would have been advantageous. That said, the tour was excellent in almost every respect - accommodation, meals (those with an emphasis on local cuisine), the tour director, local guides, coach seating comfort (extra leg room much appreciated), general amenities and itinerary. By limiting the read more number of passengers to 40, the tour operator (Insight) had obviously placed a premium on the comfort and well being of its passengers. There was a good mix in the nationality and demographic of fellow passengers, with everyone getting along with each other; bonding occurred very quickly. Finally the booking process with Global Journeys was a breeze who kept in regular contact throughout. I can highly recommend this tour. We saw a lot, learned a lot and thoroughly enjoyed every moment.
Our 4th tour with Insight 7 Boston, Cape Cod & The Islands , NSW, Australia, Sep 2017
This was our 4th tour with Insight and it did not meet the high standard of our previous trips. The tour started well in Boston but was marred on day 2 and 3 by the tour guide becoming ill, she should have been replaced but wasn't. Day 4 was poorly planned with an early visit to the New Bedford Whaling Museum, which is great, but then we had to look read more around the town for a few hours. There is nothing in New Bedford! The off to the Heritage Museum and Gardens where we spent about twice as long as we should have. The Glass Museum was ok but in all, about half the day was wasted.

The remainder of the tour was affected by Hurricane Jose which meant that we couldn't go to Martha's Vineyard or Nantucket due to the ferries being cancelled which should have been tour highlights.Insight tried to arrange other activities but these were not a success on the whole. The weather wasn't in Insights control, of course, and they did give us a small payment as compensation after the tour. The stop on the last day to the cranberry farm on the way back to Boston was much too long as well, just seemed to be to fill in time on the way to the airport!
Wonderful Britain & Ireland Explorer 9 Britain & Ireland Explorer , NSW, Australia, Sep 2017
This was our third tour with Insight and Global Journeys and we were not disappointed and Georgie did a wonderful job organising our trip again!

Our Tour Director Cameron Wilson did a superb job and Stuart did a wonderful job of driving the bus. We did all the optional extras but unfortunately we very disappointed with the Beatles Tour in Liverpool, read more being a Beatles fan, but overall the rest were very good. The tour was fast paced but we expected that with so much to see in a short time.
The accommodation was excellent overall and the coach as always was roomy and comfortable. We had 40 on the bus with 9 Aussies and the rest from the Us and Canada and we all got along well. We were given a wonderful taste of Britain and Ireland and would love to go back and see more, particularly Scotland and Ireland.
Capital Cities, long journeys. 6 Northern Capitals , NSW, Australia, Sep 2017
Northern Capitals is an apt description. Unfortunately, journeys between are lengthy and some capitals could be missed! Some are fabulous and more time in Berlin St Petersburg and Russia would be better. Always read the itinerary.
