The tour was fantastic. The tour guide (Carmel) was a wealth of knowledge of the areas we visited, the coach driver (Brian) what a great man, courteous, friendly and an overall nice gentleman. The areas that we went to were fantastic, most of the accommodation was great except for one hotel (cannot remember), great stopping areas for photo shots and read more comfort breaks, tour shops were great. I think the most important part was getting to know the history of the United Kingdom, especially when we went to Ireland, Scotland and Wales listening to them speak in the native tongue and tasting their national food of the earlier periods in their history. My wife and I thank you for your assistance in organising the tour. I cannot say enough of the expertise by which Carmel and Brian conducted themselves and the fantastic nature of them both.
The tour was great. Met alot of great people. It would be nice to have a one day break inbetween the tour to regain our energy. A day of just relaxing by the beach or other leisurely activities. However, need more details of optional tours. The glass blowing, diamond factory and leather factory, not for me, out of my price range....lol. A big thank read more you to Jodie for all her hard work in organising this trip for me.
Would definitely choose Global Journeys for any future travel

My thoughts...well from the first time we contacted Global Journeys to the end of our journey in America, it was such a well organized and pleasant experience. I would definitely choose Global Journeys for any further travel I planned to do in the future. Thank you Global Journeys for a wonderful holiday.
Thoroughly enjoyed the trip. The tour director (Erol) & bus driver were excellent. My brother in law becamme ill in Canakkale. Erol acted swiftly, efficiently & with the utmost discretion to get him to hospital & back to join the trip. No one on the bus was aware of the situation - absolute professionalism from Erol. I believe there were too many days read more allocated to Istanbul, however we were there early & saw most sights. May I suggest that Cappadocia be included in the trip & not as an extra. It is such a beautiful place that everyone should see it, especially those who have limited funds & choose not to go. I would not hesitate in using your tour group again & would recommend you to other people who ask. There were people on the trip who were not happy with accomodation. I had no concerns with accomodation all were of a standard I expected & most were above that. Difficult to please all the people all the time. Would have liked to have more evening meals free as food is cheap & so much choice - maybe lunches should be included & not dinners when staying in larger towns. Hope feedback is useful.
We thoroughly enjoyed our tour, the driver (Dave) did an excellent job in several tight situations and the Tour guide (Charlie) was very professional and knowledgable. The hotels were excellent and the tour went very quickly. I would have no hesitation to recommend your company to our friends.
Although hesitant about three coach tours back to back (my first time touring by coach) they all worked extremely well. Each tour got better perhaps due to the location being better each time. I think Cosmos is great value for money and the tour directors with 1 exception were a joy to be with, thoroughly professional and knowledgeable. Unfortunately read more I had to cut short the Italy tour and return home for a family illness. The tour director assisted with connecting flights and nothing was too much trouble. Jodie was competent, honest about my undertaking of the 3 bus tours and friendly. Had a great time with Cosmos will use them and yourselves again.
Extremely well organised, just needs a little fine tuning 4
Linda & Peter Rolfe, Australia, Jul 2011
We had a great time, it was very well organised, we saw amazing things. I don't really have complaints, more constructive criticism. We were on a tour of 37 people. At the introductory meeting I feel we should have been introduced one by one, very briefly, or at least given name tags. Our guide Lino delivered instructions and outlined the optional tours read more including one that night in Rome (50 euros each?) which no-one took. He then closed the meeting and we went our separate ways. A much better way would have been to have an included dinner to get some cohesion in the group. It was 6-7 days before we learned everyone's names, and that was because I made a big effort on the ferry to Greece, to make sure we knew who was who. Each time Lino had to call out our names for hotel rooms etc, he always used our surnames, so we had no help with names then. More importantly..... the last 'farewell dinner' an exorbitantly charged event (65 euros I think) most definitely should have been included, so everyone would have been there. There were 18 of us there that night. I assumed we were all going and was really disappointed that half the group were not there. 65 euros for that dinner was appalling, even though we were taken on a train ride around the Acropolis. We would have opted out at that price, but when we booked it and paid for it (many days earlier) we did not know the others well enough to ask them if they were attending. It should have been included - no question! My only complaint is that these optional tours were way too expensive. We should have done research before we left Sydney and we would have realised we could have done these tours on our own and saved hundreds of euros. I will suggest that later on trip advisor. Positives, and there are many. The hotels were excellent, the breakfasts fantastic, the buses very comfortable. We thought our guide, Lino, was okay. That was before we met the guide we had on the cruise. Marieke was exceptional, very calm, efficient and so likeable. She went to a lot of trouble to ensure our embarking and disembarking went smoothly. The disembarkation could have been very ugly, due to a taxi strike and union blockade. Marieke arranged it that we got to our bus without a single problem. She knew our names from day one, only 16 to learn, but she did make the effort. She seemed to enjoy the experience which made it better for us. I would not hesitate to go with Cosmos again. As I said earlier it was extremely well organised, just needs a little fine tuning.
An excellent experience overall 1
Michael & Julie Taylor, Australia, Jul 2011
On the positive side it was an excellent experience overall. The tour exceeded my expectations in so many ways so I have to say fantastic. Value for money vacation of a lifetime. Tour guides were both excellent and the coach was great as were all the major cities we visited. On the negative side the coach driver from Dover to London dropped us and all read more the other passengers nearly 1 km from the hotel and pointed us in the wrong direction. Also the Kensington Close hotel (at the end of the British tour) room was so small and claustrophobic (due to renovation) it was depressing just being in there. I couldn't wait to leave. Both negative incidents happened at the end of each tour making us wonder whether they just want to get rid of you quickly as their job is done. Leaves you with a bad feeling after such an excellent time touring. I feel the London section of tours needs some fixing as they don't do their jobs very well. Excellent work by Global Journeys. Will recommend to others.
My inaugural tour with Cosmos far surpassed any expectations that I had and each day continued to impress. Thanks to all concerned.
The trip was wonderful. Thoroughly enjoyed the coach and the tour director with his enormous wealth of information. The driver was extremely careful and mindful of his passengers. The hotels were all not up to standard. Some of them were a little far out of town. They were small and did not have quite the facilities that you would find in most hotels. read more But they were clean and were fairly comfortable. The breakfasts varied from hotel to hotel. Some of the hotels provided very basic continental breakfasts while others were quite generous in their display and servings. The local tour guides were adequate except the one in Paris. She was excellent. But all in all - I would travel Cosmos again. The price was good and the timing suited us perfectly.
Vowed never to take a coach tour but we are now converted 1

If you want to taste Europe which will give you an appetite for more, then 'The Grand European' tour is for you. All ages on this trip with something for everyone. My partner and I are not big fans of the queue for attractions and it was great to jump the queue each time we arrived at each city. On top of this the guides gave you the run down of each read more city so getting around in the evening was easy, with the added benefit of above average accomodation. And yes we were the same people who vowed never to take a coach tour but we are now converted. Oh yes, and Global Journeys were great and thanks to Georgie.
Our first coach tour and certainly not our last! Our tour leader Simeon was wonderful! Helpful, fun, approachable and amusing. His tips and tales of each destination helped us get the maximum pleasure from them. Dominique our driver made sure we got there on time and safely, he too was helpful and approachable. No getting up in the mornings wondering read more 'What do we do today'....'how will we get there'...'where do we park'. Our fellow travelers were a most agreeable lot, a mix of Yanks, Aussies, Brits and Canadians helped us 'enjoy the ride'. Would we do it again? Yes, tomorrow, if we could!
We went on our first ever coach tour last year. Georgie, at Global Journeys, was a great help. We were leaving home a few weeks before our tour of Paris & Northern France, & George was able to get our travel documents to us in good time. The tour director & driver were great. Very helpful, knowledgeable & managed to have time for everyone. We saw more read more & learnt more than if we had just traveled on our own. It was one of our best holidays ever & have booked another tour with Globus & Cosmos this year for a longer holiday.
I loved my tour of Turkey. Turkey was great as it hasn't reached the tourist heights of Europe. The history, especially the ruins, were much better than my tour of Europe and I found Turkey has many wonders that I wasn't aware of. Both of my trips had excellent guides and the coaches were great. I will be travelling again with your group.
Pleased with everything we did and saw, glad we did it

The Best of Europe
Don & Bonnie Larmont, Australia, Jun 2011
This was the first tour we had done, We had a fantastic group, everyone always on time so no delays anywhere for the entire 16 days. We found it too busy if you took up all the options. No time for sightseeing apart from the scheduled stops. The actual stops we had were very good, and we were pleased with everything we did and saw. The hotels were all read more very very good. The included dinners were probably 50% okay as were the breakfasts, however we did not go hungry. We did ask the Tour Director on one occasion as we were not taking up the optional 'tour' and as the hotel was out of town if we could travel with the group into the City and find our own way back. This we were told was not possible due to 'insurance', though on another day we accommodated a member of the tour groups son and his girlfriend, so that was a bit of double standards on the part of the Tour Director. Basically it was a fun tour and we are glad we did it, so many thanks to you all.
Georgie was wonderful and helpful in booking our tour - she answered my millions of questions happily. We travelled with Cosmos on the Best of Europe tour for 19 days. Our huge disappointment on our tour was missing the Sistine Chapel, we chose this tour because this was included as an optional tour. We chose between seeing the Sistine chapel and Pompei read more (on a different tour). We along with everyone on our tour were dismayed and cross at not being let know before booking our tour that this would not be available as Italy had a public holiday! It would be a public holiday at the same time every year and Cosmos would know this and should divulge that it would be unavailable before booking! Grrrr!
Also due to this holiday we could not see David in Florence....everything shut! It was also printed in our personal brochure that the Sistine Chapel would be an optional tour. So not grumpy with Global journeys at all, but maybe make a note in the diary to let other travellers know that the public holiday in Italy is on at that time and will affect tour operators and things they offer so no one else has to travel around the world to see the Sistine chapel shut. Otherwise everything was great, great driver Carlos and we had fun and the Cosmos tour was a wonderful way to see heaps and pack in the sights in a very short amount of time. Trip of a life time!
Our tour exceeded our expectations. The coach was very comfortable, the Tour Leader Al LePore was excellent, the overnight accommodation was comfortable and generally well located and the itinerary gave us a good overview of the West coast of the United States. The 'no meals' arrangement worked very well and made the trip affordable. Overall, the tour read more was a memorable experience for us.
This was our first tour of this type and I have to say, it exceeded our expectations. We considered other tour companies such as Trafalgar, but opted for Cosmos because it seemed to give us more options regarding free days, allowed us to choose when and where to have meals, plus a variety optional tours. Overall it seemed to give us better value for read more the dollar. Choosing the Golden West Adventure was a real bonus, visiting the fabulous Grand Canyon and Yosemite is a memory never to be forgotten, plus the exciting Vegas and San Francisco. Our fears about travelling by coach were unfounded, it was most comfortable and the majority of journeys were less than 2 hours!! Our tour guide (Al Lepore) was extremely knowledgable and always there to offer advice or give assistance. An added bonus was our driver (Martin Martinez), a great character and again, always there to offer advice and assistance. A fabulous experience and we look forward to doing it again .. on another tour of course!
Very happy with all aspects of the tour

Italy's Best
Anthony & Helen Foster, Australia, May 2011
We were very happy with all aspects of the tour and we had a wonderful experience. The tour guide was a delight to listen to, he had a wealth of knowledge and a happy personality. The tour was so well organised that we saw much more then we expected and we were happy to have good weather. All the hotels were of excellent standard - they made us most read more welcome and comfortable. We would recommend this tour to everyone.
Lovely trip overall 1
Gerard & Yvonne van Rijswijk, Australia, May 2011
We enjoyed our tour very much. The only criticism I could possibly make was that the wake up calls were a little premature. For example, wake up calls at 6.00 am but we didn't leave premises until 8.30 am. Although it seems trivial I heard a few of the males on the bus complain and this could be a deterrent for future bookings. Other than that, everything read more went very well. The tour director was fine and we saw a great deal of places within the tour that we were excited about. Gerard is interested in a river cruise for next time as he didn't like the early wake up calls and different hotels. He would have preferred to stay longer at one place. Lovely trip overall. Thank you for organising it.
