Wonderful way of getting a taster of Europe 2 , NZ, New Zealand, May 2015
This is a wonderful way of getting a taster of Europe, if you have never been overseas before. Leanne, our Global Journeys Consultant was so helpful with everything, even fielding some 'silly' questions from us. She arranged everything, including transfers. The tour itself was such a breeze to participate in, everything was done for us, all we had to read more do was sit back and enjoy the different sights, sounds and tastes of Europe. Mike our tour director was absolutely amazing and kept everything on track, with a smile and style! Enzo our driver was so polished and smooth that the drives just passed effortlessly. I will definitely book through Global Journeys again and do another Cosmos tour.
Prefer small groups 4 Scenic Switzerland by Train , VIC, Australia, May 2015
My holiday preference is to travel in a small group, so being in a group of 40 people was daunting! However, because all our travel was on trains it was not so bad, because we had room to move around and weren't having to get on and off a coach all the time. There was not that feeling of being herded about like cattle!
Enjoyed the trip alot 3 Highlights of Morocco , SA, Australia, May 2015
Really excellent tour guide Graham (Aziz) who brought the whole trip together. Dealings with Global Journeys were flawless. Overall trip was excellent but accommodation varied between excellent (Marrakech) to quite ordinary Ibis). Too many & too lengthy stops through the drives. Would have been better to arrive earlier. Tipping at the level that Europeans read more are used to is always difficult for Australians who prefer, I think, to have the staff fairly paid up front .Also makes for a fairer comparison between tour company prices. Cosmos, please, one carpet sale pitch is enough for a trip like that. Lastly, having to have 'local' tour guides for the included tours was often disappointing & would be much better handled by the tour guide. Generally I enjoyed the trip very much.
Certainly met our expectations 3 Eastern Us & Canada Grand Vacation , WA, Australia, Apr 2015
Tour certainly met our expectations, we enjoyed the 2 night stays. Long drives on first couple of days then good pace between cities, we had lots of free time and had fun with fellow travellers. Highlights for us were history of Canada cities, Niagara Falls, Amish dinner & Washington. We stayed in New York for 4 days before & after the tour which was very enjoyable.
Excellent in every respect 1 Treasures of the Balkans & Transylvania , NSW, Australia, Apr 2015
This comprehensive tour of Turkey was excellent in every respect. My only complaint is that it could have been longer! The ancient sites were numerous and interesting showing many layers of history. Our caring and humorous tour guide Erol, was extremely informative about ancient history and modern Turkey. It is a beautiful country with varying landscapes read more and many natural places to marvel at. The food was good and every hotel had something different to offer, be it home style on a dirt road in a village, to a hotel by the sea. Cosmos tours are always well-balanced and thoughtfully put together and Turkey was no exception. I had a fabulous time!
Far exceeded our expectations with places visited 4 , NSW, Australia, Apr 2015
This tour far exceeded our expectations as far as places visited; food; accommodation and comfort especially considering it is rated as a low cost level tour! Added to this our Tour Guide Eleni was absolutely superb with a wonderful breadth of local and historical knowledge extremely organised and had a great personality. She made sure we were totally read more informed about places we were visiting prior to our arrival so that we never wasted time wandering around wondering what to do. The tour was fast paced at times with long days in the bus on occasion but we never felt that it was too much for us as seniors because of the regular stops along the way. The early morning starts made it possible for us to view many of the sites long before the crowds appeared which was welcome considering the huge numbers of travellers in Europe these days. The two bus drivers Raphaele and Antonio (they shared the trip half and half due to lack of work so early in the season) were both excellent. We were totally comfortable with their handling of the long drives or the scary roads we at times travelled, such as the Sorrento roads with their sheer drops to the sea and driving along the treacherous Arlberg Pass in the snow (because the tunnel was closed).

The bus was very comfortable with plenty of room and very good air conditioning which had to cope with temperatures from extremely cold in Switzerland to extremely hot in Greece! The 4 week trip was a sightseer's delight with some of the most superb scenery interspersed with delightful historic or beautiful tourist stops. The only thing that lets this trip down is the pre and post tour accommodation at the Kensington Close Hotel, whereas the accommodation on every other sector of this tour was far beyond our expectations. This hotel is in a superb location right near the Kensington High Street station BUT the accommodation is extremely small (the smallest rooms we have ever encountered) and very basic which equates to no more than a 2.5 Star rating, rather than the purported 4 stars it claims. Indeed the downstairs public areas of this hotel may be 4 stars but the guest accommodation is definitely sub-standard and added to that the Cosmos patrons are treated as second class citizens by the entire hotel staff. Perhaps Cosmos would do well to heed the negative feedback they constantly receive about this hotel and look to changing it in the future? Thank you Emily of Global Journeys for all your excellent work in organising this trip, we will certainly recommend and use Global Journeys for our future travel.
Tour was good and the pace was pretty good 3 The British Isles in Depth , VIC, Australia, Apr 2015
Overall the tour was good and the pace was pretty good too given the distances that had to be covered. However it seemed to us that in a lot of cases, we spent little time (eg 20-60 minutes including lunch) in the most beautiful and interesting places eg Oxford, York, etc. In some not so interesting places eg pottery factory, jewellery factory/shops read more we spent far too much time and most people were not interested. Also the bus temperature was not properly regulated and at times it got too hot and stuffy. Complaining to bus driver did not make much difference.
British Isles in depth 3 The British Isles in Depth , QLD, Australia, Apr 2015
Trip was all encompassing as the name suggested. It was tiring towards the end so in hindsight I would not have done so many days. Accommodation was pretty ordinary and two places were extremely bad. I was surprised they had a license to operate. It was very cold for most of the trip and most places would not turn the heating on until 6 pm or later. read more Otherwise we got to see the places we wanted to.
Very good and value for money 4 , SA, Australia, Apr 2015
Overall the tour was very good and value for money in that we saw a lot in the period of time. It was 'on the go' up early and on the coach which was tiring, hence I would not book another similar tour that was as long as 30 days again. Most of the accommodation was good. The worst hotel was that which we had in Paris - I thought this hotel was extremely read more poor and below even a 1* rating. The fact that this hotel was the very first hotel we stayed in, at the start of the tour on the continent, was of concern as I began to think the promise of 3* accommodation was all bluff! Other's also had similar thoughts. The age group of participants was suitable to me which was a plus. The optional tours were expensive and I did not do all of them. The tour director Ms. Marisa Frati was fantastic!! Could not have had a better tour guide. She was not only extremely knowledgeable but she had a great personality, sense of humor and she was always smiling, and always helpful. The tour gave a good overview of a number of places to visit. The fact that we did not stay very long at any one particular place meant that it enlightened us on where we may like to return for a longer stay at some later time.
A very well considered tour 1 Irish Discovery , NZ, New Zealand, Apr 2015
A very well considered tour encapsulating a great cross section of what Ireland/Northern ireland is about. The outstanding guide was a walking/talking encyclopaedia of his country with an excellent sense of humour.
Great tour 3 Southern Charms & Florida , VIC, Australia, Apr 2015
It was a great tour and I will do the Washington one in the near future. I liked the people I met on tour. The tour guide and bus driver were terrific. The additional optional excursions were ok but not really what I needed on the tour. I learnt a lot on the tour that I wouldn't have seen if I traveled outside a tour.
All of the included tours were of a high quality 1 Scenic Slovenia & Croatia , QLD, Australia, Apr 2015
It was excellent. All of the included tours were of a high quality. We had local guides take us on a walking tour of the city in several locations and they were extremely knowledgeable and well informed. Other tours such as the caves and the National Park at Plitovich were stunningly beautiful. Most of the hotels were fine. The only one that was a bit read more dodgy was the one in Sarajevo where we couldn't get hot water for the shower. I gather there are not a lot of hotels to choose from however. We also did all three optional tours as well and they were excellent too. Good job!
We thoroughly enjoyed it, and would do it again 1 Central Europe , QLD, Australia, Apr 2015
Overall, the combination of hassle-free booking, a really well-paced tour, an excellent tour director, and the many wonderful places visited, outweighed any inconveniences we encountered. We thoroughly enjoyed it, and would do it again.
Very enjoyable trip 2 Seven Countries, Venice & Paris with London , NSW, Australia, Apr 2015
Very enjoyable trip, although we wished we could have spent more days in some countries! Austria and its scenic snowy aspect, and Switzerland of course, were the highlights for us!
Certainly recommend this tour as good value! 1 Highlights of Morocco , Australia, Apr 2015
Overall no complaints most interesting and enjoyable tour, would most certainly recommend this tour as good value! Morocco is a country of contrasts from the Atlantic ocean on ones side to the Sahara desert on the other with the snow capped Mountains of the Atlas Mountains thrown in to add to the varied and most interesting landscape and diversity of people.
Would not hesitate to recommend this tour 1 Irish Discovery , QLD, Australia, Apr 2015
Ireland put on it's best for us weather wise. What a beautiful country with so much history. Hilary, our guide, was excellent. As a born n bred Irish lass was a wealth of information who imparted her love of her country to us. I would not hesitate to recommend this tour.
So many 'wow' moments 2 The Best of Europe , QLD, Australia, Apr 2015
I gave feedback to Cosmos too just stating some of the twin share places were a little bit too cosy for my liking...personal space lacking in two hotels in particular - Grenoble and Paris. The random person I was paired with was a really lovely though! The trip has so much to see and so many 'wow' moments with the monuments & historical sites - highlights read more Pompeii, Capri and Venice - caught the sun setting whilst on the boat heading out out to dinner in Venice and that was stunning. This dinner was yummy in Venice too.
Very happy with this tour 1 The Best of Spain & Portugal , NSW, Australia, Mar 2015
There is so much history in Spain and Portugal, so many museums and beautiful buildings. The coach ride from one city to another city is so so , but every city has it's own charm. I was very happy with this tour.
We want to return to explore more of these beautiful towns 6 , NSW, Australia, Mar 2015
Our tour guide, Sophia, was excellent. She had a full bus load and was always available to answer any questions. She always helped in any way and was charming in every way to the requests from her clients. As we were travelling in countries that had different cultures, language and interaction, Sophia did an amazing job to keep us all informed. Sophia read more explained the shopping and the exchange of money so were were not left with a large amount of local money in towns where we only stayed a day or so. The tour was excellent in regards to visiting these quite varied districts . From the large city of Munich to the small villages of Budapest. I was travelling with my two sisters and both commented about the tour and would definitely go on another Cosmos tour. Our driver was very experienced and we thought he was very safe regarding the long distances on the free-ways. His expertise when trying to manoeuvre the small streets and lane ways was exceptional. He was very courteous and helpful with any request. We thoroughly enjoyed the trip and would recommend the Prague, Vienna , Budapest tour. The sights were amazing in these towns and small villages. The only complaint is the the tour went too quickly and we want to return to explore more of these beautiful towns.
