The highlights of the trip were Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu and the Uros Floating Islands on Lake Titicaca. It's amazing how the families live on these floating islands of reeds.
Cosmos didn't fail us with this itinerary - all the places we wanted to visit plus more. The hotels were, on the whole, okay. The tour director and driver were excellent (2 of the best). Highlights were New Orleans, visit to Graceland and Grand Ole Opry. It was unfortunate that the tour only had one night in Memphis so we didn't get to experience a read more lot. We really enjoyed the stay in Savannah - what a beautiful city - so much to see and do. Optional excursions were a bit overpriced for what was included, especially the Natchez river cruise and dinner in New Orleans. Our booking experience with Global Journeys was excellent and highly recommend Hannah; we will definitely be back for future travel needs.
This was the first time we did a tour with Cosmos. Knowing that Cosmos offers budget tours, we did not expect much. But we found that Cosmos exceeded our expectation. The accommodation was very good as most of the hotels are four stars and close to the tourist attractions. We did not mind at all that breakfast was not included most of the time, in fact, read more it gave us freedom to choose our breakfast, such as beignets from Café du Monde. Delicious!!
We also found that the inclusive 2-day trolley ride and the 2-hour private ride in Savannah was excellent. This was beyond our expectation. The 2-hour private ride gave us ideas of what to see & do the following day. The Tour Director, Kristine, was very fun & knowledgeable. She made the tour a memorable experience! She managed to get 'Elvis Presley' on board! Bravo Kris!! You did an amazing job and are one of the best tour directors we have toured with. This tour is highly recommended to be included in your bucket list!! Highlights of the tour: New Orleans & Savannah! They are so beautiful!
12 day Highlights of Germany with Cosmos 3
Rod & Wendy , NSW, Australia, Sep 2018
Probably got what we paid for (budget) and what we expected with a coach with 42 other people. We all got along and there were no late starters getting on the coach each time which made life easy. Tour was mostly rushed with a lot of driving hours sitting on the coach. Guide was a nice person but gave too much information at once e.g. what we are eating read more tonight and it's morning, who cares?!! But overall a glimpse of the country and good value. Probably suited to people with limited mobility on a budget.
Relaxing visit to the Lakes District, lovely weather, lovely boat trip to Bellagio. Easy paced trip with an excellent tour guide.
A China Experience Tour 2
Charles & Rosalind, New Zealand, Sep 2018
Thanks Cosmos for making our holiday a great and authentic China experience. We appreciate the fact that the tour guide went to a lot of trouble to make sure everyone was happy and satisfied. We loved all the great attractions and cultural experiences and were impressed at how Cosmos gave much more than expected. We loved the food and thought it much read more healthier than Western diets today. We also were impressed at the way China is tackling pollution, the very good roads, the quality of the new buildings and the advances in education. Too many great highlights to mention but the Terracotta Warriors and the Great Wall were among the best.
This is a quick tour of seven countries. Fast paced, need to be organised and willing to be on the move. It's a great trip to get an idea of Europe. Loved every minute of it. I would then look at a more extensive tour like the one I took - Prague, Vienna & Budapest . This one is a slower paced tour - loved this one too. Both tours had very informative read more tour managers. Local tour guides were very knowledgeable as well.
Lovely East Coast Canada 5
Judy, VIC, Australia, Sep 2018
I was a solo traveller on this tour and was keen to go to Prince Edward Island. The scenery is beautiful although a little too early for Autumn colours. I loved the visit to Green Gables. It was a happy group and a tour I would recommend if your interest is in that area of Canada. Halifax is a lovely city also.
Nicely paced tour - not hectic at all, plenty of time to do our own thing. A few hotels need improving but overall a great experience. Would've loved if Sicily was also included in this tour.
We loved our Trans American Adventure and believe it delivered more than we hoped. The price was very reasonable as there is no food supplied by the tour operator but you know that going in so allow for it. We did get a few bonus breakfasts from hotels along the way but mostly chose to eat our own stuff anyway.
Importantly a Tour Director makes read more or breaks a tour like this. And we thought Alison was fantastic. Didn't pull any punches, was honest about the good and the bad which led to a strong bond of trust between her and the whole tour group. She was informative and helpful personally. She quickly realised I was a sports fan so told me of a once in a lifetime opportunity to attend an NFL game rather than go on an optional excursion and supported us in doing so. Also I had a knee strain for most of the tour (overdid it in NY) so walking distances and standing around weren't ideal, but again, some understanding and allowances made sure I didn't miss anything important. There is a huge differential on this tour between the cities and the national parks so you really get a feel for the US and its magnificent diversity.
No question some of the accommodation wasn't first class but hey no-one got bed bugs, was cold or couldn't sleep because of noise so really again given the prices it was fine and we didn't hear any complaints. A mention of the cabins at the Grand Canyon for example - they were pretty basic but when you consider you're pretty much sitting on a rocky peninsula that juts out into the Grand Canyon, it does blow you away. And even there we ended up having a two hat meal at the restaurant. All up highly recommended especially to newcomers to the States and wanting a bit of a taste of a lot of things.
This was our first coach holiday and it exceeded our expectations. Simon, the tour guide was droll but was able to maintain good cheer whilst enforcing the rules, e.g. seat rotation. Graham, the driver was very efficient and a smooth operator ensuring a comfortable ride. We had done our research, so were expecting the levels of comfort in the various read more hotels. Some better than others, but that was part of the fun of the trip. The excursions were well organised and a lot of fun. Unexpected delights of visiting small ports or villages was wonderful, e.g. Ullapooll.
The only point of difference that we would like to see changed was that the tour included 10 dinners, which on the whole consisted of reasonable choices of dishes, served at table, but three of those dinners consisted of buffet which we feel should be offered as a choice to forego and not have to pay for at time of purchasing the tour. I personally find buffets appalling, (breakfast apart). One buffet dinner is one too many, but to have three thrust on us, was outrageous.
This tour was great. The itinerary was perfect - including most of the tourist attractions in Romania and Bulgaria. The hotels were great and spacious. We had a wonderful tour director who looked after us well and a very professional driver.
Timeless Japan tour with Cosmos 4
Margaret, NSW, Australia, Sep 2018
Cosmos was very good and the price was competitive. We travelled just after Typhoon Jebi and we were amazed at the speed and work ethic of the Japanese. Global Journeys was excellent to deal with and promptly replied to my every request. I would highly recommend them and would use them to book my next holiday. Juliet was especially good.
Far better than expected - Venice to Dubrovnik with Cosmos 15
John, ACT, Australia, Sep 2018
I have travelled a few times with Cosmos, in fact it is my operator of choice. I have always considered Cosmos a good value for money operator and expected a lower standard of accommodation as part of the deal. On this trip everything was of a superior quality, this applies not only to the accommodation but includes the guide, coach driver and schedule.
This was a wonderful trip. We had a wonderful driver Angelo, our tour director was a bit indecisive at times which did cause some confusion. There was a mix of people from different countries which made things very interesting. The tour contained more walking than I had anticipated and some days were very long especially the day that we visited Carcassonne, read more Nimes, Pont Du Gard & Avignon. Two hotels did not offer portage which we were not informed of until we arrived and this was hard with a couple of lifts and our luggage.
We stayed in the city of Toulouse but did not see anything of Toulouse. In the Chateaux Country I would have liked to have spent more time at the Chateaux and less time in the town of Ambroise. Hotels were good and the included meals I thought were very good. We went on all the extra excursions and thought that they were good value for money but more explanation needed about the time slots especially on the Paris sightseeing Tour.
However, we saw and did some wonderful things. Bordeaux, Rocamadour, Provence and the French Riviera, and of course Carcassonne and some wonderful villages we went through were the highlights. Also a special delight was Beaune where we had some free time to wander around this lovely town.
Fantastic and relaxing tour that covers lots 4
Garry & Janelle, QLD, Australia, Sep 2018
This tour exceeded my expectations, plenty of time to stop in places, never felt rushed like other tours, and stopped in little towns most times for lunch instead of auto grills. Would thoroughly recommend this tour. Spain is a lovely place. Food is fantastic. (Ed. This trip has changed this season, so this review refers to a slightly different itinerary.)
We chose the last tour of the season, and had the most spectacular weather to add to the spectacular scenery.
An extremely well organised tour combining the Rocky Mountaineer in GoldLeaf, the Cosmos land tour with our wonderful tour guide Tamara and wonderful accommodation along the way, then connecting to the Holland America cruise to Alaska and read more the Inside Passage. Don't leave it too long to add this trip to your bucket list...
A tour combining American history and scenery

Janne & Michael, NSW, Australia, Sep 2018
There are just too many historical places we visited to detail individually but highlights included the beautiful picturesque town of Harpers Ferry where John Brown staged a revolt against white slavery, the Kentucky Horse Park which is the final resting place of Secretariat, Lincoln Museum and the Museum of Appalachia.
Our day at the Jamestown read more Settlement and particularly Colonial Williamsburg was like stepping back in time and the detail of the buildings and displays were brilliant. Our tour of the Biltmore House was mind blowing and impossible to imagine the wealth of George Washington Vanderbilt who built the biggest and still privately owned house in the United States.
The optional extras of a day at Dollywood theme park and Dolly Parton's Stampede dinner and show were both well worthwhile choices. Both our driver Bob and tour guide Brenda were fantastic. Brenda had so much knowledge of this tour and provided us with endless details of each destination.
What a great trip we had. Sun, sand, sangria, camels, belly dancers and much more. Who could ask for anything more. The guide and driver on our coach were marvelous. The other 41 people on the coach were great and we had some wonderful times and laughs with them. Everywhere we went was magnificent. It was a quick on off the coach affair but it didn't read more matter to us, because we wanted to see so much. I can recommend this to anyone.
Booking through Global Journeys was a breeze and so too was this, our second Cosmos trip. Natural beauty and water was in abundance. It was late in the tourist season but overall the weather was good and crowds were manageable. Accommodation & location overall was good, exception being the last 2 nights at Bromma domestic airport. The Globus coach was read more comfortable and our group comprised Australians, N.Z.'s, U.S.A.'s, Canadians, Indians & English. A good time was had by all.
