Tour guide and driver were both very good, as was itinerary 1Tassie's Wilderness IconsMoira & John, United Kingdom, Jan 2015
Although I was concerned about touring with a coachload of 50 other people, it actually worked out very well, despite the coach being full. The tour guide and driver were both very good, as was the itinerary, although I didn't realise they were running two tours concurrently - ours and a longer departure which ended back in Hobart, whereas we finished read more in Launceston. This was only really a problem at the end of our tour, when dinner was not included on the last two nights, so it was harder to bid farewell to our fellow travellers; those on the longer tour had a farewell dinner, but we just seemed to be cut adrift. Additionally, the first night in Launceston was a Sunday, with many restaurants (including that in the hotel) shut, so it was difficult to find anywhere to eat anyway. Breakfast the next morning (the last of our tour) was also chaotic with two tour groups trying to eat at once - the hotel messed that one up and should have given different times! The transfers were also not ideal - lots of hanging around while passengers from various flights were collected on the inbound trip and a tediously slow return on the Redline airport bus, rather than a dedicated transfer, but in general we really enjoyed Tassie, felt that the tour was well organised and included some real highlights, including Cradle Mountain, The Nut and McQuarie Harbour. We also loved the trip to Tasmania Zoo to see all the local wildlife, including Tasmanian devils. Would consider another AAT Kings tour on our next trip to Australia.
Didn't we just love Tassie. The hotels and food were brilliant. So was the coach and driver. The Tour Guide James was exceptional, he made it a whizz. Disappointed we hadn't booked to go all the way round back to Hobart. The coach was full to capacity and the fellow travellers, mostly Australian were great. We only had one day of rain, the rest read more was lovely weather. Would certainly recommend this particular tour.
A great experience 1Tasmanian WondersLynne, QLD, Australia, Dec 2014
First time I have been on an escorted coach trip and Carolyn, our coach Director was excellent, as was our driver Darren. Carolyn talked most of the time on the coach journey explaining everything to us and telling us stories of the past. We covered a lot of ground in those 10 days and although I personally would have liked to have spent longer at Cradle read more Mountain and done more walking I realise that there were 30/40 fellow travellers on board and this was a taster for future visits. The river cruise and visit to Sarah Island was a wonderful day out. I must say that AAT Kings certainly chose well the guides they use as part of the tour. Port Arthur and the Ghost Tour were interesting. Was travelling alone but we were a happy bunch of travellers. The only complaint was the pick up company who met the flight and did the transfer to the hotel. Arrived at Hobart at 16:45 and had to wait for another delayed flight until 18:30 before being transferred to the hotel. Me and Maree, a young Swiss visitor were not amused. Apart from that hiccup at the beginning had a great experience. Uluru next! Thank you Yvonne for managing to get me on this trip!
It was fantastic doing a coach tour 3Southern SpotlightKaren, NSW, Australia, Nov 2014
It was fantastic doing a coach tour. I got to see so much more while learning about the area and places of interest. Met some amazing prople on the tour also but still able to do your own thing if you choose..Was a great experience and would certainly do another tour and book with Global Journeys as they kept me informed all the way and took care of read more everything on my behalf. Would definitely recommend it.
Guide was excellent, very knowledgeable and considerate. Coach driver also excellent. Pace. Was quite fast but difficult to see how it could be moderated without extending the timescale. Would have appreciated more time to see coastal villages such as Lancelin, Cervantes. Accommodation. Ibis at Geraldton adequate but a bit tired. Meals arranged at read more all hotels were good, but that in Perth Travelodge took far too long to serve. - 2 hours. Opportunity to order in advance would have helped. Wild life sail at monkey Mia. We enjoyed this despite the strong wind and lumpy seas which precluded seeing any marine wild life, but we are keen sailors. The crew were competent and mindful that some may have found the experience a bit too wet and wild!
Tasmania is awesome 1Tasmanian WondersConcetta Sgroi, Australia, Nov 2014
Both the Tour Director (James) and the Driver (Stuart) were excellent - accommodation was good and the food was good. People on the tour were lovely. Tasmania is awesome. The only negative is that I was emailed the Hotel List for Family and Friends too late as I was already on leave and wasn't able to access that email until after my return from the read more holiday - it would have been good to receive shortly after paying for the tour in full. Which was paid for way ahead of time before the tour commenced and even before the date AAT Kings required full payment by. I recommend that documentation be supplied shortly after receipt of full payment if there is sufficient time allowed before commencement of tour. (GJ. Doc are produced by AAT Kings and sent 2-3 weeks out from start date, irrespective of when you personally pay your balance. We then send them onto our clients immediately upon receipt. Glad you loved your tour, and Tassie though, its one of our favourite destinations too!)
I thought the pace was slow, but I'm probably biased because I'm under 30. The sites were good. Transfer to airport at the end was helpful.
A very well organised tour 1Tasmanian WondersJudy Flere, Australia, Oct 2014
A very well organised tour. Our tour director Caroline was excellent. She has vast experience and a great local knowledge of Tasmania, which made the trip very enjoyable and i learned a whole lot as this was my first visit to Tassie. I would highly recommend this tour for good value for money and a great tour of Tasmania.
A very good tour aptly named Taste of a Southern Australia. It is ideal to show the beauty of the area between Sydney and Adelaide via Melbourne with excellent accommodation and coach. The group on the coach were from all over the globe and made for wonderful companions. We will certainly visit again and now have a good idea of where to stay and what read more to see for longer periods of time. We covered a great deal of the region in 9 days and would concentrate on smaller areas the next times we come to Australia. Overall an excellent tour and highly recommended. Lastly a big thank you to Hannah of Global Journeys, who did an excellent job sorting our all our arrangements and queries from the outset.
Amazing place 1Ana, Australia, Oct 2014
Amazing place. Things were a little bit expensive, but it's worthy. Global Journeys were excellent! Fast, easy, and very kind.
Really enjoyed the trip. Well organised from airport transfer to every day activities. Tour director Lu and driver Paul are very patient, knowledgeable and with sense of humour. Excellent experience with AAT Kings and Global Journeys.
Excellent tour with good accommodation at all places 4South Western EscapeNoeline Wallace, New Zealand, Sep 2014
I'm delighted to have the opportunity to let you know what I thought of my recent tour with AAT Kings. Could not fault it. An excellent tour with good accommodation at all places. A big thank you has to go to the Tour Hostess Sylvia and the driver, I cannot remember his name. They were both exceptional I thought. Nothing hassled her and she was a read more ball of knowledge on all subjects. Excelled at keeping everyone entertained and happy. The km's flew by with her patter which was never intrusive. Would recommend the tour company to anyone. Also very happy with your service Yvonne, and would certainly use Global Journeys again. I hope this is a glowing report as that is what I want it to be.
Saw an amazing amount of beautiful WA 2Western WonderlandStephen & Carol Logue, Australia, Sep 2014
Thank-you Georgie for the seamless booking of our tour to Western Australia, the prompt responses to our emails, all the holiday tips, airport transfers, and pre-tour accommodation, your helpfulness was appreciated! Our tour was very comprehensive of the region, WA is very spectacular. Our Tour Director Sylvia was very accommodating and knowledgeable, read more and our bus driver Tom was great. Tom drove our bus very smoothly and at a pace that we could enjoy the scenery, he also made sure our bus was clean inside and out every night. Sylvia lived in the region and was able to bring local perspective and personal stories that added character to what we were seeing. We saw an amazing amount of beautiful WA plus the gorgeous wildflowers, and we especially enjoyed the photo stops along the way, we had nice food and interesting travel companions. Can't wait for the next time we travel, and will certainly book through Global Journeys!
Coach driver and tour guide were fantastic 1Tassie's Wilderness IconsLyndsay Starr, Australia, Sep 2014
Our coach driver and tour guide were fantastic! Full of knowledge personality and just a complete pleasure! Would love to tour with them both again! An asset to the company!
With two thousand kilometres to be covered on this tour it does make for some long driving days but the itinerary provided for ample comfort stops and opportunity to stretch the legs. Highlights were Monkey Mia, Red Bluff lookout at Kalbarri, the Pinnacles and the aboriginal cultural show at Yanchep NP. Best accommodation was at Kalbarri while Ibis read more at Geraldton was a little disappointing. AAT Kings do a good job and we will probably travel with them again. Thanks again to Georgie for her efficient organisation of our booking. We will definitely be using Global Journeys again for our 2015 tour.
Older age group - average age 70 to 75. Tour guide and driver did a great job. Accommodation was good, the best available in the small towns we stayed in. The meals were very good apart from one dinner we had in Katherine. We really enjoyed our trip and would recommend AAT Kings. We also had Global Journeys add on the 'Kakadu National Park Explorer' read more day trip to our holiday. It was long day but worth it. The coach was very comfortable as a new model and David Browne our driver did a great job. He gave us lots of information along the way and was very helpful. I would recommend this tour.
Michelle was a fantastic agent - thanks Michelle. We thoroughly enjoyed our trip and all went well. We have no real complaints. Our meals were very good. We would have liked more walking through gorges etc but time didn't allow. The tour was quite fast paced with some long days and too many hours spent on the coach. We suggest adding a day or 2 to enable tourists to do more.
AAT Kings run a well planned set of tours which include 1 to 4 day tours to Kakadu. As we were on the 4 day tour, we had several different guides and coach drivers. We found some repetition occurred across the days. The Guluyambi Cultural cruise was both entertaining and informative. There was a short delay in being picked up from our hotel on the first read more day and some confusion with being returned to our hotel on the final day, but all was well in the end. A thoroughly enjoyable experience. A great experience with Global Journeys!
Pleasantly surprised 2Untamed KimberleyPauline & Edward Smith, Australia, Jul 2014
Fantastic part of the world - tour made the holiday so easy as we had virtually no decisions to make each day except what to eat and drink! Having not done much group travel before, we were pleasantly surprised.
Would have liked a little more free time 2Wonders of the KimberleyPauline Reid, New Zealand, Jun 2014
Thought starting with a free day unnecessary. Tour manager and driver were excellent - organised, helpful and congenial. Accommodation and meal at Fitzroy Crossing below standard and $20 compensation seems inadequate. Generally I would have liked a little more free time at the end of each day. Sometimes a bare hour was all there was. Meals could be later.
