Had a wonderful time on our journey 1 Outback Safari , VIC, Australia, Aug 2015
We had a wonderful time on our journey through Central Australia. Our tour director, Dave Overton was excellent - very professional and knowledgeable. The information he imparted to us regarding the aboriginal culture and history of the specific sites and local areas was very impressive. He was always willing to answer any questions and was able read more to offer assistance and guidance to anyone who had specific needs. Our driver Stuart needs to be commended for his wonderful driving skills, especially on the very long drives. Both Dave and Stuart worked very well as a team. The tour covered all the main sites and attractions that Central Australia is renowned for and although it was fairly strenuous, it was what we expected. The accommodation could not be faulted except for the motel at Tennant Creek. This was definitely below par however, there appears to be renovation work being done at present, so hopefully future tours will reap the benefits of this. The meals were very good and Dave always had the right cafes, roadside stops and suggestions for food specialities etc. on offer. Loved the mango smoothies at Maceys and the barra burgers at Daly Waters Pub!!! We would thoroughly recommend this tour, however, travellers should be prepared to be on the go. There is quite a lot of walking involved but everyone is given the option of doing strenuous or leisurely walking. We have returned home for a rest!
Enlightening trip with wonderful tour director And driver 1 Top End Highlights , VIC, Australia, Jul 2015
Our tour was an enlightening experience all made possible by both wonderful Tour Director And Driver. Their passion and knowledge of the culture and land was exceptional. My criticism of the accommodation is a little unfair as what was provided was the best available in the area. Future guests should however be aware that some properties would rate lowly on a star basis.
A very enjoyable experience 5 , SA, Australia, Jul 2015
A very enjoyable experience, both, the tour and the booking procedure. Not an issue, just feedback for the operator AAT Kings: Our names didn't make it on Alice Wanderer's list for the transfers from or to the airport. (Alice Wanderer did take us at no extra cost though!) Special thanks to Emily Cran for handling our booking fantastically!
Excellent, well organised and guided 1 Wonders of the Kimberley , NZ, New Zealand, Jun 2015
We loved the tour well organised and guided. No problems at all with the included activities, food and accomodations. As we booked late our tour info wallet didn't catch us up but no problems resulted. Another tour will be on the cards I am sure. Overall excellent.
Thank you, thank you and thank you 1 Kakadu & Nitmiluk (Katherine) Gorge , NSW, Australia, May 2015
Thank you, thank you and thank you. From the time I booked the trip until the conclusion, I couldn't fault it. Hannah was absolutely wonderful in booking my trip that included transfers from the airport to my hotel stays and the 3 day Kakadu, Katherine Gorge trip. Everthing went like clockwork. Our driver and tour guide Cam was absolutely fantastic, read more his knowledge of NT was mind blowing. And his easy going nature and willingness to go that extra mile for us on the trip just made it extra special. I had a great time and would recommend Global Journeys to anyone.
Very knowledgeable tour guide 1 Tasmanian Wonders , Australia, May 2015
Both of us enjoyed the tour, our tour guide Tony was great very knowledgeable about the places we visited and was very informative. Some of the places, the visit was a little to quick especially with a full coach. The people on the tour were very friendly and got on really well. The meals provided were very good and the accommodation very good, better read more than we had expected. Will definitely recommend Global Journeys and will go on another tour at some time in the future.
All in all a great holiday 1 Tassie's Wilderness Icons , VIC, Australia, May 2015
A most enjoyable experience. Tony, our guide, was marvellous and nothing was too much trouble for him. He definitely knew everything about the places we visited and that made it all the more interesting. Dareen, our driver, was excellent. Going around all those corners was made to look easy and we certainly enjoyed the drive. We were also blessed read more with wonderful weather for the time of year. All in all a great holiday.
Lots of opportunities for great pictures and fond memories 1 Tasmanian Wonders , QLD, Australia, Apr 2015
As I travel on my own, I was a bit nervous about going on an organized trip with people who I knew would be traveling mostly as couples. However, our trip was composed of the nicest people, from all over the place, a few Aussies, Kiwis, Canadians and Singaporeans. Our AAT Kings tour guide Carolyn's vast knowledge about Tasmania's rich history, geological read more features, economy was appreciated by us all, as was her professionalism and wicked sense of humour. Our driver Darren was also pleasant and professional at all times and kept his coach ship shape :) Our accommodation was tops and we all enjoyed great meals wherever we stopped. We also had lots of opportunities for great pictures and fond memories. A tour I would recommend for anyone wanting to discover the Apple Isle :)
Tour pace was too fast 3 Outback Adventure , NSW, Australia, Apr 2015
Tour pace was extremely fast and parts of the schedule/tour inclusions need re-visiting. Even though we did travel long distances, a schedule that for a number of days running has early starts & late finishes with early dinners around 6:30pm is exhausting for all and detracts from the enjoyment of the attractions and the camaraderie of travelling in read more a group. Some optional excursions were not very professional finding out details only after you had paid your money - eg The flight over Wilpena Pound where the battery for the large plane had not been charged and we had to use a small three seater instead. A number of trips had to be made (two people on each) and the wing struts of the smaller plane impeded the views. The helicopter flight over Uluru and Kata Tjuta turned out to be a flight from one side of Uluru to the other side of Kata Tjuta. If regulations dictate that the flights cannot go over the attractions (and I don't know whether they do or not) it should be stated up front. I saw more of Uluru doing the base walk! Very disappointing and very expensive as well. Despite the above we had a good time but there is the potential to make this a better tour.
Fantastic holiday 2 Cairns & the Great Barrier Reef , SA, Australia, Mar 2015
Fantastic holiday. Having had the cyclone through the barrier reef was poor on the Monday. I booked a half day for the Friday which was much better. I think you should be made aware of the poor visibility as that was the whole point of my visit. Loved the Hilton would stay there again. Next time I would see the reef from Port Douglas.
Booking party split up, otherwise satisfied 2 Southern Wonders , VIC, Australia, Mar 2015
We booked as a party of three but at every accommodation property the older member of our party (who booked as a single) was too far away from us and on a number of occasions on a different floor. It was a concern for us until we met up every morning. Maybe Global Journey's could include this as a question when arranging the booking? Overall our experience read more with AAT Kings and Global Journeys was most satisfactory. Yes, we would definitely book with both companies in the future.
An absolute bargain 3 New Zealand Marvel , TAS, Australia, Mar 2015
My friend and I were very fortunate to have Tania as our tour director and Mark as our coach driver for our 2 week New Zealand Marvel holiday. Everything was taken care off, the rooms, the transport, the meals, the advice on where to go and what to see when we reached our mini destinations along route. Tania was very knowledgeable, professional and read more a great laugh. She shared her experiences and knowledge with everyone on the trip, this made it a very informative and enlightening trip. Mark was an expert driver, he was proud of his coach and it was immaculate at all times. Mark was knowledgeable, informative and great fun, we had many laughs on our trip with Mark and Tania, they worked so well together. The holiday was an absolute bargain, I have no hesitation recommending this trip to anyone who wants to see the beautiful South and North Island of New Zealand. The package was planned perfectly to see the best of the Island, we were very fortunate to have great weather along our journey. Only wished we could have stayed longer, hopefully one day we will visit again.
Well worth the money 1 , United Kingdom, Mar 2015
Great vacation, well worth the money although Tyhoon Nathan put paid to our visit to the Barrier Reef. Some long days in the bus but great scenery and company. Not enough time at Australia Zoo. Will be back to explore the west coast.
A great overview of Tasmania 1 Tassie's Wilderness Icons , SA, Australia, Mar 2015
Overall we had a wonderful time. It was a great overview of Tasmania. A huge disappointment was the 'free afternoon' with the recommended option of going on the wilderness railway - we were so excited about going on it, however the morning's cruise ended too late to take up the option.
Excellent coach driver 1 Kia Ora New Zealand , WA, Australia, Feb 2015
Our tour bus driver was an excellent driver for the roads of New Zealand. Our tour guide was not as efficient as should be mainly because she did not have a break between our tour and her previous one. she was still trying to finish of that tour as well as doing ours. She was however very helpful when two of our group became ill. Thank you.
Only thing we are unhappy about is the shuttle 2 Tassie's East Coast Highlights , QLD, Australia, Feb 2015
Caroline and Tom were really pleasant and helpful and a real pleasure to have met them. They obviously enjoy their jobs and nothing was too much trouble. The only thing we are unhappy about is the attitude with the shuttle. It should not make any difference if we did not use AAT Kings hotels or stayed for an extra day. As a result of this attitude read more it cost us $30 for the shuttle and $55 for the taxi to the airport. As a result of this we would think very carefully about AAT Kings in future.
It was a lovely trip 1 Tasmanian Wonders , NSW, Australia, Feb 2015
It was a lovely trip. The cruise on Macquarie Harbour to Sarah Island was very interesting and enjoyable. The Nut and Stanley were a picturesque surprise. I had not realised Tasmania had such large mountains in the west. The giant tree ferns on a forest walk were also a surprise. The driver and guide did their best to ensure we enjoyed ourselves. The read more hotel rooms at Port Arthur were a bit grotty but the food was good there. Overall the trip was very worthwhile and I would recommend it.
We were extremely pleased with AAT Kings 2 Perfect Tasmania , United States, Jan 2015
Our experience with Global Journeys was excellent. We thank you Georgie for handling everything. We appreciate everything that you did personally for us. We were extremely pleased with AAT Kings in general and we thought Carolyn Tipper was outstanding. We have taken a number of package tours and Carolyn has been one of the best.
A complete success 7 Tasmanian Wonders , NSW, Australia, Jan 2015
The tour was a complete success starting from our first enquiry to our final day. All our questions were answered promptly by Hannah, allowing us to choose between several options. We are so pleased with the content of the tour. We saw a huge amount of Tasmania, and enough to ensure that we want to come back again. It gave us a taste of what Tasmania read more was all about. There was a great deal of variety in the tour, with the inclusions being interesting and informative. Even though the weather was not the best, our activities were such that it did not interfere too much with our program. Our tour guide, Kelly, was remarkable. She had unfailing good humour, nothing was too difficult for her to organise and her knowledge about Tasmania was amazing. What really impressed was that if she did not know an answer to a question, she had it next day for our travellers. She genuinely worked to make sure everyone enjoyed their tour. It was clear to us that this was her top priority and we appreciated it so much. Our coach driver Tom was top of his field. The coach was kept in an immaculate condition throughout the tour. Windows were always sparkling which allowed us to take photos while the bus was in transit. As mentioned, we had some bad weather, with driving rain at times. At no time did we feel unsafe as his driving ability on narrow and winding roads was exceptional. He was a pleasure to be around. He also made it his mission to see we all had a good time.

Our hotels, food and general organisation of the tour was great. We stayed in some wonderful hotels, ate food which was of great quality and enjoyed not having the responsibility of making decisions about where to go to next. Two visits need some comment. The Tasmanian Zoo was very good, but quite run down. While the staff there were informative and dedicated, the zoo is perhaps not presented as well as it could be. It's a catch 22. If no tours go there, they run short of funds, but if they do not lift the presentation of the enclosures etc, then they may well miss out on the tours. Don't know the answer to that one. The second comment concerns the optional boat trip at Launceston. While the captain's comments were interesting, and the boat was comfortable, they need to be more careful about keeping their windows clean. It was not good weather, so we needed the window blinds to be down, but they were so dirty we couldn't see much of the tour. It was too cold to be outside. Also the person who presented the wine tasting during the tour needs to be better trained to engage her audience, be more personable about the products she is presenting and at least be able to maintain eye contact with her audience. That said, the Bridestowe Lavender Farm, the Ashgrove Cheese factory, and Highfield House were standout inclusions in our touring program. We had plenty of time to enjoy these visits.

What we most enjoyed about this tour were the wonderful visits to world heritage National Parks. I have been on tours where you are taken to the middle of a town and left for a few hours to shop. Boring! This never happened with Tasmanian Wonders. Cruising down the Gordon River on Australia Day will be in my memory forever. What a way to spend Aussie Day! And what a lunch we were provided with. Our visits to all the National Parks showed us some fantastic places. Sadly the weather was awful for our visit to Port Arthur, but even so, Kelly and Tom really lifted our spirits and we still had a good time. The people who were our guides on these tours were excellent, knowledgeable and interested to show us the best of these beautiful places. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend AAT Kings tours to anyone. As I live in a retirement village, we have plenty of opportunity to discuss our travels, and I will be singing your praises whenever the subject arises. (Ed. Thanks Al & Sylvia - spread the word!)
Awesome cultural and historical tour with great sights 1 Tasmanian Wonders , Australia, Jan 2015
An awesome cultural and historical tour with great sights. The tour director shared with us lots of information about her home state. There were optional tours available if required. The crew were professional and friendly. Booking through Global Journeys was easy and efficient.
