Embrace your playful side and discover the allure of the lively Irish capital - a small city with a lot of heart and yours to explore before meeting your Travel Director and fellow travellers this afternoon for a sightseeing tour with your Local Specialist. See the stately Georgian Squares and Trinity College before enjoying a whiskey tasting at a local distillery. The excitement will build this evening over drinks, good food and great company as your Travel Director gives you a taste of what's to come. (D) Stay: Clayton Ballsbridge, Sandymount

Leaving the cosmopolitan streets of Dublin behind, we travel to Northern Ireland and the bustling city of Belfast, where you will have some free time to enjoy a spud for lunch or perhaps an Irish stew.

Later, we meet our Local Specialist 'Cabbie' for an insider view of the city's living history during a journey through its vibrant streets in a real taxi. We spend the rest of the afternoon at leisure, or perhaps join an Optional Experience. (B) Stay: AC by Marriott Belfast, Leonardo

Dive into Culture during a visit to the award-winning Titanic Belfast Experience. Gain insights into the tragic story of the Titanic and its passengers who lost their lives in the icy Atlantic. Leave the city behind, travelling to your Be My Guest experience near Ballycastle for lunch.

Then onto the Giant's Causeway as we walk in the footsteps of Finn McCool. Our visit will help to conserve this iconic natural landmark. Take some time to admire the natural spectacle of 40,000 interlocking basalt columns before continuing to Derry/Londonderry, our home for the next two nights. (B/L) Stay: City Hotel Derry, Waterfoot

Join your Local Specialist for a walk along the 17th-century city walls and see the formerly turbulent Bogside neighbourhood, with its street murals depicting the history of the 'Troubles'. Spend a free afternoon walking along the pretty Foyle River or consider joining an Optional Experience to Inishowen Peninsula, with its rich history. This evening enjoy dinner at your hotel. (B/D)

Journey through the lush countryside to Belleek, where you'll Dive into Culture and witness talented pottery crafters create the exquisite collectables that have graced homes since the mid-19th century. Arrive in Galway later, where you will stay for the next two nights. (B/D) Stay: Maldron Oranmore

The rugged beauty of Connemara was captured in the film 'The Quiet Man' with John Wayne and Maureen O'Hara. Its loughs and mountains are yours to explore today during a scenic drive. Arrive at Kylemore Abbey later to visit the country's most romantic castle and ramble through the hidden nooks of its Victorian walled garden. Returning to Galway, enjoy some free time to explore its imposing stone Cathedral or stroll through Eyre Square, which John F. Kennedy visited in 1963. (B)

Marvel at the towering Cliffs of Moher as they rise over 200 m (650 ft) above the Atlantic Ocean. Take part in a MAKE TRAVEL MATTER® Experience, gaining a deeper understanding of this UNESCO-listed landscape with your Local Specialist. At the ‘Atlantic Edge' exhibition, discover how thousands of years of wind and sea shaped the cliffs, and enjoy views from the perspective of nesting seabirds who call this place home.

Continue your journey along the Wild Atlantic Way, soaking up more coastal views before crossing the waters of the Shannon Estuary. Arrive in Killarney, where your evening is free to explore or you can opt in for a traditional Irish ceilidh, full of music, dance and craic. (B) Stay: Killarney Towers, Killarney

The soul-stirring landscapes of Iveragh Peninsula provide a mesmerising backdrop for our scenic coastal drive around the Ring of Kerry – an unimaginably beautiful natural setting. En route we will see Killorglin, famous for its annual 'Puck Fair', as well as Daniel O'Connell's Cahirciveen, the fishing village of Waterville, the Black Valley and Moll's Gap. (B/D)

Today you might acquire the 'gift of the gab', bending over backwards to kiss the Blarney Stone before you travel to Waterford. Admire the delicate creations of fine crystal during a visit to the House of Waterford Crystal where you will Dive into Culture and witness a demonstration by master crafters. This evening, arrive in Kilkenny with its imposing 12th-century castle, once the seat of the Butlers of Ormonde. (B) Stay: Kilkenny

After a morning exploration of Kilkenny, depart for New Ross where you'll see the monument to John F. Kennedy, who visited his ancestral family hometown in 1963. Dive into Culture and gain insights into the tragic plight of Irish emigrants during the potato famine of the 1800s on your visit to the nearby three-masted Dunbrody Famine Ship.

Journey through the lush Irish countryside of County Wicklow, the 'Garden of Ireland', and back to Dublin where you'll spend your final evening with travel companions sharing stories of your memorable journey through Ireland at dinner. (B/D) Stay: Clayton Leopardstown, Sandymount, Roganstown Golf & Country Club

Interesting Ireland   1 , VIC, Australia, Aug 2023
Our time in Ireland with guide Peter and driver Dennis was remarkable. It was everything the brochure promised and more. Peter has a wealth of information to share about the two Irelands that he obviously loves. Highlights include the Titanic Experience, taxi tour with commentary of Dublin, Malin Head, specialist guide in Derry, Waterford Crystal factory read more and the Ring of Kerry. The hotels were superb and the company of like-minded travellers fun.
Luck of the Irish   1 , NSW, Australia, Apr 2023
Great tour of Ireland and Northern Ireland that was aided by excellent weather (we expected rain every day but only got a few days). Our TD Emma was a local with a clear passion for her home and she provided good information and funny anecdotes through the ten days. The itinerary was mostly great, although we would've preferred to have stayed in Waterford read more instead of Kilkenny for our penultimate night (Waterford was larger and more interesting), especially when the last day involved basically travelling back towards Waterford to head to Dunbrody, which didn't seem logical.

The hotels were generally of a good standard with excellent location near the city centre, except for Galway which was a bit far (a 30-minute bus ride away). We did also notice that around half the hotels on the tour was changed from the ones listed from our original booking, including the one in Galway. Overall, we recommend this tour if your aim is to visit most of the country's top attractions (Giant's Causeway, Cliffs of Moher, etc.) in a comfortable way and want a taster of the two countries.
Wonderful Irish Experience 1 , VIC, Australia, Jun 2017
We thoroughly enjoyed the best of Ireland tour. Tour director very good providing extensive knowledge on the history of both countries. The local guides were also outstanding. Would also recommend the inclusions and optional which provided some outstanding scenery (Atlantic Coast) entertainment, hospitality and humour.
Would recommend this tour to all.
Fantastic Irish Experience 4 , New Zealand, May 2017
This was the best of Ireland, tour director was totally inspiring with the history of both countries and the local guides outstanding. Optional extras a real treat and highly recommended! If you only choose a few of the extras make sure you do the Inishowen peninsular and the giant causeway trip, the Irish Ceilidh evening, the jaunting cart ride through read more the Bourne-Vincent National park and the Kilkenny afternoon pub visit with an introduction to hurling and a great sing along!

Highlight of the holiday was the 'Cabbie trip' in Belfast for a ride through the recent past and a look into both sides of the 'troubles'.
You will be entertained and more than amused to experience that unique Irish hospitality and humour wherever you go.
Ireland holiday 1 , VIC, Australia, Jun 2016
Highlights were the great scenery and rugged coast. Optional tours were a bit disappointing for the cost apart from Celtic Steps show, which was a last minute inclusion. Accommodation was great. Unfortunately the airport pick up did not go smoothly as the reps had no knowledge of our tour; eventually sorted. Tour director knowledgeable and helpful.
Ireland is a beautiful country 2 , Australia, Aug 2013
The tour was great. Liam Hogan, our tour director, was fantastic and very professional. Everything went smoothly and like clockwork. He was very knowledgeable and had some great stories to tell. The guides that showed us around the various cities were also fantastic. Ireland is a beautiful country and I am glad that I decided to go back for a second time.
An interesting tour, unfortunately I was unwell 4 , Australia, Jul 2013
This was an interesting tour as I have Irish heritage. Unfortunately I was unwell from day 3 until the end of the tour so my perceptions are possibly less than they should be - I saw a doctor in Waterford who gave me antibiotics that solved the problem for the other tours I then did (England and France). The emphasis on this tour is more about Irish read more culture and scenery - Ireland does not have the large cathedrals and castles that exist in England and France (particularly France). Some of the areas (like Galway) were terribly crowded with tourists so would probably have been better to do in the shoulder season. It was hot (and I don't remember any rain so that's good) but this caused a problem as most of the accommodation had no air-conditioning - also no fans that would have helped. As this was an unusual heat wave I have still given a Very Good rating as the hotels themselves were quite nice.
