You'll visit a palace lit by candlelight, dine in a Moorish jewel tucked beside Tivoli Gardens, and stroll through cities that value balance: between old and new, movement and stillness, nature and art. In Copenhagen, the streets hum with bicycle bells and Danish ease, while in Oslo, forested hills frame glassy fjords and bold urban skylines. Cross the bridge into Sweden for a day trip, stand before The Scream, sail past storybook islands, and sit down to meals that speak the language of place – local, fresh, rooted in tradition yet ever evolving.
Itinerary
Tour begins: 6:00 PM, Radisson Collection Royal Hotel. Welcome to Denmark, land of timeless fairy tales and sleek modern design. Upon arrival, a transfer is included to the Radisson Collection Royal Hotel, a true one-of-a-kind. Designed by Danish architect Arne Jacobsen in 1960, this mid-century icon is more than a hotel – it's a living legacy of Scandinavian minimalism, with thoughtful details and quiet glamour throughout. This evening, please join us for a welcome reception before dinner at Nimb, a Moorish-inspired gem with views of Tivoli Gardens.
Wake to the rhythm of bicycles and Baltic breezes. In one of the world's most bike-friendly cities, life is shaped as much by the calm of the sea as by the energy on land.
Today begins with an orientation tour that includes a visit to Christiansborg Palace – once a royal residence and now home to the Danish Parliament and Supreme Court. Marble halls and gilded chambers tell stories of monarchy, democracy, and the delicate dance between the two; a private canal cruise follows. Much of the city's iconic architecture can be seen from its indigo waters – cruising past copper spires, the reflective Black Diamond Library, and waving to the Little Mermaid statue.
Lunch awaits in Nyhavn, the postcard-perfect harbor lined with colorful houses. Later, enjoy a visit to Tivoli Gardens, where twinkling lights and old-world whimsy invite a peaceful wander at your leisure. Choose to dine in Tivoli or return to your hotel for an evening on your own.
Please note: When the King of Denmark is in residence at Christiansborg Palace, your visit will instead include Rosenborg Castle, a Renaissance castle originally built as a summer residence and home to the crown jewels.
Explore Copenhagen's charm on a guided walking tour beginning in its Latin Quarter, known for pastel-hued buildings and vibrant cafés and bakeries that define a culture of hygge or comfort. Enjoy lunch, followed by an afternoon at leisure to take in the relaxed way of life at your own pace – which may include a visit to Tivoli Gardens. This evening, step inside the elegant Odd Fellow Palace for a Tauck Exclusive dinner in an 18th-century Rococo mansion with a rich legacy of Danish nobility.
Separated by just 17 miles of water, Copenhagen is a stone's throw from Sweden, which once belonged to the Kingdom of Denmark. This morning, cross the Øresund Bridge – Europe's second-largest bridge and an engineering marvel – into neighboring Sweden. On a guided tour, visit the picture-perfect city of Lund, with its cobbled old town and colorful houses. Enjoy free time to experience the Swedish way of life – perhaps sampling the many sweet delights of Sweden. Back in Copenhagen, enjoy your final evening in this capital city at leisure.
Arrive in Oslo early this afternoon. Upon landing, meet your local guide and set out by coach for a sightseeing tour through one of Oslo's vibrant neighborhoods, where cobbled streets, contemporary cafés, and classic Nordic charm mingle in the quiet rhythm of daily life. Learn how the city's design-forward sensibility blends seamlessly with its deep cultural roots as you pass parks, waterfronts, and local landmarks.
Along the way, visit the Holmenkollen ski jump, a world-famous landmark that has hosted competitions since 1892 and offers sweeping views over the city. This evening, step into Oslo's storied past during dinner at a local restaurant housed in a historic building.
This morning begins with a cruise through Oslo's idyllic harbor where quiet islands, rugged shorelines, and forested hills rise around calm, glimmering waters. As you glide through the still waters, enjoy commentary from your guide and perhaps a sweet Nordic treat along the way.
Back on land, delve into Norway's legacy of artistry. Step into the National Museum, home to some of Norway's most treasured works – including Edvard Munch's iconic The Scream, displayed on the dedicated Munch floor alongside a curated collection that reflects the emotional depth of a national icon. Lunch follows at a local restaurant, after which you may return to the hotel or continue exploring Oslo at your leisure for the remainder of the day.
Your final day in Oslo starts with a guided coach tour through Norway's capital, revealing layers of the city's rich cultural tapestry. Begin at the extraordinary Vigeland Sculpture Park, where over 200 bronze and granite sculptures by artist Gustav Vigeland trace the human journey – from birth to love, struggle to serenity – along peaceful, tree-lined paths.
Continue on to the Gol Stave Church, a striking medieval wooden structure originally built in the 1200s and carefully relocated to Oslo's folk museum grounds. Afterward, enjoy the afternoon at your leisure. Join us this evening for a farewell dinner.
Your journey ends in Oslo. A transfer is included from the Grand Hotel Oslo to Oslo Airport. Please allow at least three hours for check-in before your flight.
