Well organised, informative and a very safe trip to Colombia. Travelling with Tauck is a luxurious experience. The travel itinerary was interesting and varied, hotels were good quality, transportation was well organised and comfy and the food was plentiful (lots of quality three course meals included). Key highlights included a private tour of Boltero read more museum in Bogotá guided by Botero’s grandson, Colombian Paso Fino horse experience at Normandia Equestrian Center in Medellín, staying at the beautiful Sofitel Legend Santa Clara hotel in Cartagena and an impromptu salsa class in Cartagena. The local guides generously shared their knowledge along the way and were instrumental in facilitating efficient check in for internal airline flights. Highly recommended trip for those wanting to go beyond traditional places especially as tourism in Colombia continues to grow. Beautiful country, beautiful people.
Tip: If booking airline flights through Global Journeys, ask for each passenger to have their own individual travel reservation number. Due to airline system upgrades, Colombian/ Panamanian airlines at international airports do not appear to recognise multiple passengers booked under the same travel reservation number (you’ll be stuck at the airline check in counter for an additional 2 hours for each flight you take).

Just a bare glimpse (see our photo) of our amazing Tauck journey “The Spirit of the Desert”. It was fabulous!!! Colorado River, Arches, Canyonlands, Bryce at sunrise (2 of those), Zion, and the clouds lifting over the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. Thank you, a million times over! It was wonderful! The poor weather (rain, cold and wind) was a distraction throughout the tour which, unfortunately, had a negative effect on many of the venues. It made the tour guides jobs particularly difficult. Not Tauck's problem but, nonetheless, it was unfortunate as it negatively impacted the tour. When we booked this tour, we compared it to another Tauck Eastern read more European tour referred to as a Jewish Heritage Tour. As we are are not of Jewish faith, we felt that this tour would not be meaningful to us. In hindsight, we are not sure that the tour we chose would have been much different from the Jewish Heritage Tour. Most of the members in our tour group were in fact Jewish and the focus of the tour definitely was on the Jewish faith and the Holocaust. I would like to suggest that Tauck make more of an effort to differentiate between these two tours. There is much to consider in an Eastern European tour that does not focus so highly on the Jewish heritage.
On a very positive note, the local tour guides were excellent, very knowledgeable, courteous and friendly. Our Tauck Tour Guide was also excellent with extensive experience in Eastern Europe. One final negative comment, unfortunately. Even though we realize that Tauck does not make hotel room assignments, we feel that they can do a much better job of influencing the hotels on our stay to provide rooms that are more comparable to the cost of our tour. We have not once during our Tauck tours been assigned a hotel room with a view of anything but rooftops of adjacent buildings or a view of another section of the hotel itself. That's not what we feel we deserve for the money we pay for these tours. On a closing note, we are booked on our next Tauck tour to Portugal in October and plan to book a follow-on Tauck tour to New Zealand on 2024.

Denali was spectacular and thoroughly enjoyed the plane ride up over Denali. The trip into the park was also great and we did see some bears and Dall sheep way off into the distance. The Lodges were all Princess Lodges and were very crowded. Quite a number of us caught COVID so didn't make the cruise which was very disappointing but enjoyed what we did see.

Thoroughly enjoyed this tour. We had a great Tour Director and everything was well organised. She gave very informative information on the places we were visiting and had a great sense of humour. The accommodations were fabulous and there was a great group of people on the tour.
Overall, a wonderful experience. We must start with kudos to both Jemma and Hannah for all the support, help and advice you gave us throughout the booking process. Yes, we will book with you again and are now looking at Tauck tours to Australia, New Zealand and or Tasmania in 2023.
Our tour to Ireland was number one on our Bucket List and we were read more not disappointed. Vincent, our tour guide was a treasure of information on Ireland's history and overall knowledge of the political, economic and societal struggles that have plagued Ireland's history. Also, his knowledge of each of the sites we visited on tour was extraordinary. He truly deserves to be a "Keeper" for Tauck.
There are, however, two recommendations for consideration that would change our overall rating to five stars instead of four. First, the Westin Dublin was not what we expected of our accommodations. It was below the standard of other Westin hotels we have used over the years. Unfortunately, we had complaints that we registered with our tour guide and the hotel management. Compared with all other hotels we stayed in during our tour, the Westin was at the very bottom.
Secondly, the amount of time we spent on the limousine bus was excessive. We covered a huge amount of The Republic of Ireland's and Northern Ireland's geography and transit times to each destination were often at times too long. Due to the necessity to keep on track with our itinerary, we felt that the amount of time we were allotted at some of our stops was minimized. Again, a wonderful experience that took Bill back to his Irish roots!

Fantastic company and nice staff on board. We never had to ask for anything... it was all offered on a plate. Very good service and Global Journeys handled the booking and delivered all the required paperwork.
Our experience was an intriguing and memorable holiday on our Portrait of India tour. From the moment we arrived until we boarded our plane to leave, we didn’t have to worry about a thing as everything was taken care of. The accommodation was superb and we visited some magnificent places and sites along with a couple of real surprises. The Taj Mahal read more and Varanasi were highlights along with lunch cooked cooked by a famous local in her home. Our tour guide was very interesting and informative throughout our journey and we would recommend this trip to our friends.

What is the average group size of a Tauck journey?
The average group size of a Tauck journey varies depending on the trip that is selected. Most land journeys average 35 to 44 guests. Some of Tauck's cruise programs will average larger group sizes based on the capacity of a ship. While the group size can be larger for such cruise programs, the land touring and shore excursions are orchestrated in smaller group sizes.
How do you choose your hotels?
When you travel with Tauck you can always count on the best available accommodations in great locations, from landmark city hotels to country hotels in areas of stunning regional beauty. Tauck hotels are selected for their central location, ambiance, service and value; most are conveniently located, close to key historic and cultural sights.

What's included in the price of a Tauck journey?
Just about everything! Virtually every travel expense is included in one up-front price – airport transfers as specified in the itinerary, all hotel and ship accommodations, entertainment, meals as specified in the itinerary, special dinners, land and cruise transportation, sightseeing, shore excursions, luggage handling, most taxes, concierge-style services, services of local guides and more.
All appropriate gratuities for luggage handling, bellmen, doormen, dining room servers, and ship staff are included. Tauck Director and Tauck Cruise Director (if applicable) gratuities are included on all small ship and river cruises and all Tauck Bridges trips.

Are meals included on Tauck journeys?
Most meals are included on Tauck journeys. Dining is a delightful and integral part of the Tauck experience – and that is why Tauck selects restaurants that offer a true taste of each region you visit. Enjoy Tauck's "free choice" dining where you often dine when and with whom you wish; some meals are full a la carte, some may be limited a la carte, and some may be from a set menu or buffet.
What if I have special dietary requirements?
Many special dietary needs can be accommodated on Tauck journeys with advance notice but cannot be guaranteed. Different destinations make some dietary needs harder to accommodate than others. Tauck will do everything possible in communicating your requests to hotels and restaurants. Common dietary requests like ' low sodium' or 'vegetarian' are likely to be accommodated much easier than very special or unique dietary needs. Meals that are full a la carte offer more flexibility for special dietary requests as do some limited a la carte meals. For the occasional 'set menu' or 'buffet meals' on Tauck journeys, unique dietary needs may prove a bit more challenging.
How much luggage can I bring?
Due to motor coach space limitations, most Tauck journeys only allow for one normal sized suitcase per individual. Tauck also encourage just one carry-on bag per individual (for carrying items that might be needed during the day's sightseeing excursions or camera/video equipment). Dimensions for carry-ons should not exceed 17" x 12" x 10", allowing it to fit under the seat or in the overhead rack of most motor coaches.
Are tips included?
All gratuities to Tauck Directors, Tauck Cruise Director, ship staff, local guides and luggage handling are included on river cruises. Gratuities to the Tauck Director and Driver are not included on most Tauck land journeys. Such gratuities should be extended on a voluntary, individual basis and not done as a group. As an exception, there are some Tauck journeys in which the Tauck Director gratuity is included and/or a Driver gratuity will not be applicable.
Information about Tauck Director and Driver gratuities specific to a destination is included within final tour documentation sent after a reservation has been paid in full. All appropriate gratuities for luggage handling, bellman, doorman, dining room servers, housekeepers, local city guides, ship and train crew are included in the price of a Tauck land journey.

Are there age restrictions for children on Tauck Bridges trips?
Children age 3 and older at the time of travel are welcome on Tauck Bridges itineraries. Based upon our experience with family travellers, for each itinerary we have a minimum recommended age to encourage comfort and enjoyment for all of our guests. In some cases there may be age restrictions on activities; all children must be accompanied on activities by a parent or guardian. At least one guest in the travelling party must be 21 or older to make a reservation.
Note: Minimum age for our Tauck Bridges river cruises is 4 years; minimum age for our Tauck Bridges African safaris is 5 years; and minimum age for our Tauck Bridges Galápagos cruise is 6 years.

Can you give me an example of the types of activities you have for children on a Tauck Bridges trip?
We have so many activities for active feet and curious minds that it's difficult to know where to begin! Here are just a few examples for families of all ages: a trail ride with a cowboy at Bryce Canyon, a walk with a hawk at an Irish castle, whitewater rafting in Peru's Sacred Valley, a gondola ride in Venice, mountain bicycling in the Alps, learning about bullfighting on horseback in Seville and a speedboat adventure on the Thames in London.
Do you have special prices for children?
Yes! Special rates are available and vary by journey. Children under 11 or 12 (depending on the journey) are eligible for the special rates on all of our family adventures.
Do you offer children's meals?
In most cases, there are menus available for children. Please note that in destinations such as Europe and Africa, these options may not be typical "kids' meals." Tauck also include authentic regional dining experiences and culinary discoveries that keep kids' needs in mind – like cooking classes with Irish chefs and Austrian strudel bakers and marzipan makers, a pachamanga barbecue in Peru, a picnic in an African crater, cheese making in Switzerland, chocolate tasting in France and pizza making in Italy – for a real taste of family life around the world.
What are the rooming options for my family Tauck trip?
Tauck accommodate single, double and triple rooming arrangements on all itineraries. In some instances triple room accommodation may have a rollaway bed. On 6 of our US. itineraries for example, 4 people – including a maximum of 3 adults – may stay in one room. Please note that our ability to accommodate different rooming options varies by hotel and location. For example, rooms in Europe may be smaller than those in the US., and thus a rollaway may be difficult to place. Quadruple accommodations are available only on select itineraries and in Europe often require two double rooms.
What is the difference between taking my family on a Tauck Bridges journey compared to a normal Tauck journey?
Tauck Bridges journeys differ in that all of the journeys' components are designed to best suit "family" travel. Our itineraries, hotels, meals and activities are specially planned to thoroughly compliment our loyal family travellers. However, Tauck Bridges and Tauck World Discovery's journeys both are designed and delivered by the same devoted and experienced staff, whose expertise and love of travel have brought numerous awards throughout the company's history. Do note that Tauck World Discovery experiences are designed primarily for adults, although children are certainly welcome. We do not offer child rates on Tauck World Discovery itineraries.
Can I add extra nights before or after my trip?
Guests often ask us about extending their stay at either the start or end of their Tauck holiday – and special Tauck prices at our selected hotels make it more inviting than ever! When you arrive early, you become better acclimated to any time changes, so you're truly refreshed and relaxed. You'll eliminate the stress of worrying about getting to the starting point of the first day of your journey on time. And you'll have some additional time to explore on your own. If you want to spend more time in cities where your journey ends, we can also extend your stay by one or two nights – it's a great way to make your holiday last a little longer!
Where will we stay?
Your Global Journeys travel advisor will organise your additional accommodation with Tauck hotel reservations before and after your journey. Rooms are reserved at the first or last night's hotel property of any Tauck journey so there is no worry of having to change hotels or rooms at the start or end of your trip. Rooms are reserved on a space-available basis, and the cost will be added to your tour cost.
Is there any price consideration for individuals travelling by themselves?
Travelling solo doesn't mean travelling alone – with Tauck, it means camaraderie, travelling with like-minded travellers who share similar interests, enjoying the spirit of travel that makes exploring the world a necessary part of life – and sharing the special experiences found on Tauck's guided land trips and cruises that create lifetime memories. Tauck offer special Solo Traveller Savings on all of our European river cruises and on select departures of many of our land trips.
Do Tauck offer a airport or railway station transfers?
Tauck offer a airport or railway station transfers at the start and end of your tour, or in-conjunction with any pre or post accommodation booked with Global Journeys. All flight information must be given to Global Journeys at least 6 weeks prior to departure so that transfers can be arranged. If you book your own pre or post accommodation, then transfers cannot be included.
