Wonderful, eye-popping and amazing adventure! 6 , QLD, Australia, Sep 2015
A wonderful, eye-popping and amazing adventure with a surprise just about at every twist and turn! Just loved it from Paris to Dijon and especially Chamonix. How gob-smacking to venture out onto the balcony in my room in Chamonix to have Mont-Blanc and the glacier right in my face! Down through the Alps and the awesome views on the Route Napoleon to ...read more the Cote d'Azur which lived up to its reputation of glitz and glamour. The blue Mediterranean as blue as ever but the most fun was in Monte Carlo and the beauty of Monaco, so elegant. Moving west, it just got better, day by day. Loved the Hotel in Nimes where the staff were hospitality students - top marks to these young people; and onto Carcassonne - oh, my gosh, now that is one absolutely awesome double-walled city! Beautifully preserved, situated on a rise - can you imagine how impregnable that city was in medieval times! One of my very favourite places - beautiful church, 3 tenors singing, enough to bring a tear (or two) to my eye - these days, a peaceful town to stop and admire. A shame to leave it.

Moving on, the 14th century Pont Valentre and area of Cahors just so beautiful. Rocamadours reputation didn't disappoint - how did they build that hanging out of a cliff face! Perigueux and early morning walk through this medieval town before the current residents really stirred was so lovely as were the raspberries from the lady with the market stall - so cheap and delicious! Onto Bordeaux and the TGV - what a hoot! Great way to travel back to Paris to final dinner - so much fun at Les Noces de Jeannette and canard a l'orange - mix in a lovely lady with accordion and French songs, lots of singing, wine and laughter made the 'white-knuckle' ride back through Paris traffic even more hilarious - especially from front seat!

Our driver on tour, Emilio, was just the best - those alpine roads in mist and drizzle not for the feint-hearted but he always made us feel safe - with a smile. Tour Director, Marie-Claire, top marks - her knowledge, attitude, organisation, sense of humour and accent - top notch! What can I say - a brilliant holiday, first time travelling by myself ever, no problem. Food was mostly really yummo, especially first and last nights in Paris with the group - the menu was excellent those nights - never seen so many vineyards - as far as the eye could see in some provinces - and I enjoyed the fruits of their labour too! And what might seem a small thing but one that was always so welcoming in little villages to bigger towns are the big baskets of colourful flowers, reds and bright pinks, hanging on posts, fences, bridges, wherever a basket of flowers could fit - viva la Francaise! (Ed. You sound like a hoot too Fay! Glad you enjoyed your trip)
A thoroughly enjoyable experience 2 , Australia, Apr 2014
A thoroughly enjoyable experience which reflects the diversity of France. We felt visiting Lourdes should be in the Religious Tours Brochure and substituted with an extra day in another City eg. Lyon, Carcassone or re-routed to Tolouse or Avignon. Accommodation in Lourdes was below standard. Included Dinners/Lunch were very good and much appreciated. ...read more Apart from the above comments the Tour is exceptionally good value and all areas visited both interesting and beautiful. Optional Extra Tours were worthwhile and really enjoyable. Nives, our Tour Director was outstanding with great depth of knowledge in all areas and the Specialist Guides were excellent. We were very impressed with the Global Journeys service & experience and have recommended them to other Tour participants. Thank you Globus, and Hannah at Global Journeys.

Places were amazing especially Pont du Gard and Nice. Love experiencing France this way - a must for anyone who hasnt been or only been to Paris. I would definitely recommend this 15 day tour of France 0 , Australia, Jul 2012
Tour was really awesome! Guide was really knowledgable and friendly, accommodation was great and meals authentic. I would definitely recommend this 15 day tour of France.
We had a marvelously good time 1 , Australia, Jul 2012
It was simply a combination of a well varied tour that took in a wide variety of areas of France, interesting travel companions, good hotels, good meals and generally good tour options all coordinated by quirky, knowledgeable tour guide. While it was not an issue for us because we had extra time in Paris before and after the tour, the organised tour ...read more only provided a limited insight and impression of Paris for those just doing the tour. If you have time, spend a whole day at Versailles. The afternoon optional tour is just too short. Similarly for the Louvre. However, perhaps that should be qualified to say, go to the Louvre outside the holiday period. The crowd was insane.
