Italian Mosiac 6 , New Zealand, Jul 2022
First time on a coach tour so a bit apprehensive. However we enjoyed it but found it hard work! Early starts and some long days on the coach. The coach was comfortable, fellow travellers a mix but pleasant overall and the driver extremely competent. Highlight was the tour director who was competent, hardworking and charming and ran the tour well. Accommodation read more mixed and meals a bit disappointing. Expected more than generic antipasto and pasta. Excursions were good but thought some, ie Lake Lugano, were unnecessary and just there to bolster itinerary. Also 2nd island visit at Lake Maggiore would not have been missed and time instead spent relaxing by pool much appreciated. Booking agency functional but not helpful. Disappointed in their knowledge of tour and we weren’t alerted to things such as hotel transfers as others on our tour were. Final hotel in Rome was changed to a hostel type in the suburbs with no facilities, not even a day time cafe. Which was fine for those leaving early morning but we had an extra day and had been expecting a pool, etc. Generally, a good overview of Italy made special by Gianpiero!
Fantastic   8 , New Zealand, Sep 2016
Our second trip with Globus enhanced our very favourable impressions from our first Globus trip which was the England Sampler. In fact we have now booked a third for next year. Despite a nearly full bus our tour director Sue kept us all well informed and at times entertained. She also helped to ensure that we mixed and mingled. Having an English read more guide who was totally familiar with Italy was a real bonus. Our driver was not only skilled but extremely personable. The coach was comfortable and quiet. The trip did require us to be reasonably physically active as we walked and climbed through the various ruins but this was what we expected. The days were full and occasionally long but comfortable hotels and some two night stops helped significantly. The tour visited the great majority of the places we wanted to go to. There were numerous highlights such as Pisa, Capri and so on as well as evening meals, especially the one at San Gimignano, A balanced and satisfying trip with good optional extras.
Driver was fantastic 7 , ACT, Australia, Oct 2015
The tour and local guides did not provide details of tourist sites other than Globus associated ones. In Capri, for instance, there was an international art exhibition being held across a number of sites but this was not mentioned as a possible activity during our free time, rather it was come to the cafe that Globus uses. There are other examples too. read more But it was a very good experience and the diver was fantastic.
We saw everything that we wanted to see, and more 5 , NSW, Australia, Sep 2015
Wow - what a comprehensive tour around Italy. We saw everything that we wanted to see, and more. The tour was very fast paced - largely because of the vast distance between the north and south. Great tour if you've got limited time and want to see as much of Italy as possible in a short time.
Definitely recommend this Globus tour 3 , VIC, Australia, Apr 2015
Very happy with tour, keeping in mind that it was a very quick look at a lot of different places in Italy. Has made me want to go back and see some areas in more depth. Very happy with tour guide and driver. Would definitely recommend this Globus tour to my friends.
Very happy with Globus 7 , Australia, Oct 2014
We returned from our Italian Mosaic trip of Italy on Thursday and just wanted to let you know how it went. We were very happy with Globus. Both the Tour Director Christina and Driver Georgio were excellent as were the local guides. The accommodation was better than expected with some hotels being very central. We loved the Italian hotels and we were read more especially pleased with the hotel in Venice and Assisi's prime locations. The tour director got us up and going pretty early each day but it meant that we were the first tour coach group to go into The Vatican Museum etc. etc. We took almost all of the 'add on' options which were great but it meant we were very tired at the end of the tour as we had already done the Scenic River Cruise and 5 days on our own in Paris. That however was in no way the fault of Globus, they met every expectation and more. If we were to go on another coach tour we would certainly go Globus but might take a more leisurely option. We thank you for organising everything for us and look forward to booking our next holiday.
Recommend Global Journeys and Globus! 1 , Australia, Jun 2012
The Italian Mosaic tour was great! I would recommend Global Journeys and Globus!
Italy was such a beautiful country to visit 4 , Australia, May 2012
Italy was such a beautiful country to visit. The Italian Mosaic tour, however was a very mediocre experience. The hotels were generally good with the exception of the Venetian accommodation which though quoted as 4* would only be 1-2* here in Australia. I found the tour guide, though helpful, patronising at times. Sometimes it felt as she was reading read more from a script. No real extra information. Too many Optionals in my opinion. I thought many should have been included as standards. I highly recommend all the Tuscan optionals. Visit to Capri never happened due to industrial stoppage at Capri port. No alternatives offered. This tour was too quick and not enough time to immerse youself in the great culture. Got sick of eating lunch at auto grills. My recommendation would be to break up Italy into smaller 'guided tours' at a slightly slower pace so that you can fully appreciate what Italy really has to offer. By the way, the gelato was to die for - go pistachio or malaga.
