An excellent tour. Our Tour Director, Caroline Huyshe, was a treasure. Her knowledge and her willingness to share the culture made the tour a great experience. The pace of the tour was good, but 22 days is a long time and we were happy to get a break at the end.
The Best of Italy tour was fantastic. The tour guide was just amazing, and the coach driver was so patient, courteous, and kept the coach immaculate. The pace of the tour at times seemed overwhelming, however we heard our tour guide once mention in a conversation that we are on a tour, and not a holiday - and she was spot on in saying this. The intention read more of going on a tour is to see as many spectacular places as possible so then you can pick where to come back to and stay the next time you return to that country. The guided tours were worth doing because we were taken to the little hidden parts of Italy that we would never have been exposed to otherwise. Love Italy and will definitely return one day for a holiday at a personally chosen city - which will be very hard to decide on because the beauty of Italy is abundant.

Spectacular Scandinavia & its Fjords

We loved the tour, especially thanks to the excellent tour director. The coach was very comfortable and the group of 40 was very friendly. You do have to be prepared for early starts in order to pack everything into the day. I would definitely recommend Insight Vacations.
We thoroughly enjoyed our 15-day 'Spectacular Scandinavia' tour with Insight Vacations. Let's dispense with the negatives first. The hotel at Frederikshaun in Denmark was poor and there were several long driving days. The latter is to be expected in any tour of Scandinavia, but it meant early starts to the day and plenty of sitting. Fortunately, the read more coach was excellent, with plenty of leg room, the tour director, Chad Hartin, competent, knowledgeable and entertaining, the local guides first class and there was much of very great interest throughout the tour. Norway, however, was simply outstanding. The fiords, glaciers and mountains of the west coast are stunningly beautiful. Winding through, up and down the ranges was exhilarating, the experience complemented by the skill of our very safety-conscious driver. The group of forty travellers included Aussies, Canadians, New Zealanders and Americans and not surprisingly it bonded well. We recommend this tour.
Excellent tour. Tour director and driver were excellent. There appeared to be more options offered than are normally encountered but other than that a wonderful tour.
The tour and places that we visited were fantastic. Our Tour Director, Michelle Worthington, was very informative and well organised. The accommodation and meals were always on time and of a good standard. One disappointment was that I specifically selected this tour as it was the only one that I was able to find that went to Winchester which is where read more I was born in 1947. The family came to Australia in 1948 and I hadn't been back. The tour was originally staying overnight in Winchester and it provided some free time to explore. Unfortunately the hotel booking in Winchester was cancelled and we stayed in Southampton with only a short visit to Winchester. The Edinburgh Military Tattoo was breath-taking as were some of the Castles. It was so hard to believe that they were so old and how they could have been built during that era. A couple of the optional items, which were not expensive, could be included such as the tour on the Royal Yacht Britannia and the Lake Windermere Cruise and Steam Train Ride. We were in the coach for a majority of Day 11 which was very tiring and a bit boring. Our tour group was made up of people from several counties and all mixed very well. The coach was very comfortable with plenty of room. The idea of shifting people around to different seats each day worked well.
This was my first tour with Insight Vacations, certainly a pleasurable experience and I would recommend this tour to my friends.
The Trip To Ireland with Insight Vacations was enjoyable. I was travelling with my Niece as first time visitors to Ireland and the tour covered all beautiful sights and run very smoothly.

Great tour. We had a wonderful guide and our bus driver was awesome. The sights and tours we experienced really did give us an insight into the culture, history and people of Spain and Portugal.
I think the tour was very hectic, I thought it was supposed to be easy paced. Some the Optionals were not worth it. We had to choose our Optionals and pay for them on the second day. I have been on tours before were you choose but don't pay until nearly the end. Too much of the same thing. In hindsight I would have rather done the coach before our read more river cruise. Or left it for another time.
I did not like having my friends name only being used on all hotel accommodation, and Insights correspondence being sent to her and the booking being in her name. We were going as friends and live at separate addresses. We both paid the same for our trip and both names should have been used with all tour information with each tour itinerary being sent read more separately. Tour was very good with plenty to see and good weather, the only problem being the optional excursions had to be paid too early before we had seen what the optional excursions entailed. Some were value for money and some were definitely not. We were told by the tour guide that if we changed our minds on any optional tour we could get out money back but when we cancelled the last optional tour 5 days early we were then told the excursion had been pre-paid and could not be changed. However, the tour was quite enjoyable.
Having travelled with Insight before, this tour was just as good and well organised with minimal fuss. The additional leg room in the coach was much appreciated.
Overall I had a good time, coach and driver were terrific 7
Eastern Capitals & Dalmatian Riviera

Overall I had a good time. The coach comfort and the driver were terrific. The tour director was a lovely lady yet her accent was often hard to understand. She worked tirelessly to help us all out - particularly with one person who used a wheelchair. The cities we visited were amazing and the Adriatic coast stunning. The tour only had 27 people and read more so there was lots of room and as a group we all got along very well - one of the great aspects of the tour. Some of my expectations were not met however, particularly in regards to accommodation. Insight markets their tours as providing accommodation that is 'mostly' of First Class, Superior First Class or Deluxe standard. Room amenities are second to none' This simply was not the case. The Insight tour I did in Spain provided far better accommodation. Some examples - torn linen in two hotels, Sheraton was very tired and in need of a refurbish - cupboards chipped and peeling, hotel in Dubrovnik had a disgusting odour and at least 6 rooms needed changing. I woke up the first night and was having trouble breathing with the disgusting smell. I thought that some of the optional extras should have been part of the tour. eg - Szentendre and Lake Bled. A few of the optional extra dinners were just OK considering the cost of them. The one in Ljubljana Castle being the best quality restaurant we went to. It was great to learn more about the geography and history of the Dalmatian area.
Really enjoyed this tour. We found it to be quite a relaxing way to see 3 distinct areas of France (Paris, Provence and the French Riviera). We struck a good balance of organised and optional tours and having time to explore by ourselves. Our tour director Wendy was friendly, approachable and professional. All hotels were of excellent quality and most read more in a very central location. If hotel wasn't central, it was very close to public transport. Could not fault our Global Journeys consultant Yvonne. She was very professional and quick to answer emails. Thank you Yvonne. Looking forward to our next Insight tour. A typical high standard Insight tour with the usual first class accommodation and tour highlights in a comfortable spacious coach. Excellent Tour Director with a sense of fun. Time was available to see a show on Broadway but extra time was probably required in Washington to look at the Smithsonian. Probably would have liked more opportunity to have read more lunch at places where things like Subway or similar, even a supermarket rather than Hamburger joints a way from any other choice. Will travel with Insight and book with Global Journeys again.
The Insight Tour of Europe was exceptional. The organisation of the tour went well. Our tour director and our driver were first class looking after our needs. Their knowledge of the places we visited made the tour very interesting (in addition to the fabulous scenery and attractions). The extra comfort in the bus was well worth the expense. All hotel read more rooms were of high standard in terms of cleanliness and facilities. At all hotels staff were friendly and helpful. The tour is at a good pace with early starts most days and you need to appreciate that if you are to see the amount of countryside we saw. The tour was a real eye opener in terms of the history of the places visited - you don't appreciate it till you see it with your own eyes. Our only complaint is that the weather was not perfect the whole tour. We had a few rainy cold days but it did not spoil the experience. (Ed: Review based on slightly different itinerary. Our first tour together, very enjoyable. Tour guide Lena was very knowledgeable on local traditions and places we went in Scandinavia.

Italian Elegance

Except for Cinque Terre, we'd previously been to all the destinations on this tour, some many years ago, others more recently and several times over in the case of Venice. The tour presented an unrivalled chance to see them all again in a level of comfort we'd never previously enjoyed. For instance, we'd never indulged in an expensive gondola ride nor read more cruised in comfort at night up the Grand Canal in Venice, let alone drunk coffee, eaten gelati and listened to the music in St Mark's Square without paying the fortune that we did 45 years ago in celebration of a personal milestone in our lives. On the other hand, the least enjoyable part of the whole trip was the location of the Venice hotel in the tourist crush around San Marco. Conditions are inevitably like that in that most famous area, but Venice is so small that it's easier to stay in much quieter areas enjoying experiences as disparate as shopping and church visits and yet walk within minutes to the big tourist spots. Fortunately we'd booked to stay on for another three days in just such an area, rounding off a great holiday in an appropriately memorable way.
