Fast pace especially when doing all the optionals 1European GrandeurJohn Hills, Australia, Aug 2013
Tour was fast pace especially when doing all the optionals. Our Tour Director (Janelle) was the best. We all loved her stories. Our driver (Dino) was also exceptional. Opportunities include wi-fi on the bus and in all hotels.
Fantastic tour and phenomenal tour guide 1Italian IntermezzoLe Rignanese, Australia, Aug 2013
The tour was fantastic. There was a bit of confusion with meeting point at the airport but we got there in the end. The tour director, Lynne, was absolutely phenomenal. She was knowledgeable, enjoyable, always making sure we were all ok, funny and really made the experience a memorable one with her expertise. The hotels were quite good, the sights were read more amazing and the bus driver was also very good. The tour mainly consisted of Australians, which I was very happy with! We were on our honeymoon and when Lynne knew this, she certainly made our experience very unique and special. Someone had also celebrated an 80th birthday and that was also not forgotten! If anyone else gets Lynne from Insight, they will most certainly be in for the times of their lives.
This tour was fantastic in every way (the tour guide was super). Before the tour I was a little concerned about the food in France as I cannot eat onions or spicy food, however each day the tour leader would tell us about the nightly dinner menu (French food) and if anyone had a problem then he would organise for them - in the end there were only two read more items on the whole tour that I could not eat and they were starters and I was given a nice salad instead. This area of France is truly beautiful and interesting - being of English/Irish/Scottish descent I know a lot about the British Isles but lacking in knowledge of France and the French. I now have an appreciation that did not have before. The only real drawback was that it was school holidays in France (and most of Europe) so Paris as crowded with tourists. For this reason I did not like Paris but loved the other areas of the tour.
Enjoyed the tour very much, had beautiful weather 2Country Roads of SwitzerlandVilma Berrington, Australia, Jul 2013
Enjoyed the tour very much - had beautiful weather - met some lovely people and Switzerland was like a Picture Postcard everywhere you turned.
Overall the pace of the trip was good. A couple of the accommodations were a bit far out of the centre of the town but overall good. The Chateau in the Loir Valley was excellent. Our tour guide Fredrick was a mine of information. I thought there were a few too many add-ons and this should probably be added to the cost or advised of the extras before booking.
The best tour guide ever & a great coach driver 4Best of BritainTerence Brennan, Australia, Jul 2013
We had the best tour guide ever & a great coach driver. Our Irish tour guide made sure all her charges were up to date with the tour, made sure every body was back on the bus at all stops, very funny, laughed at herself. Would love to go on another tour with her. Our coach driver was the most professional driver we have been with. All the hotels were read more good except at Liverpool. The twin rooms were very small so we asked for a double room which was better. unfortunately we missed seeing the Beatles Museum plus our restaurant was very slow, most of the group left before desert around 9.45 pm. Some problem in the kitchen. Overall we packed in a lot of sights on the 7 day tour.
Covers just about everything for those who want to see Italy 6Italian EleganceFlane Down, Australia, Jul 2013
The Italian Elegance tour covers just about everything for everyone who wants to see Italy in different perspectives. Cities with their hustle and bustle, the peace and serenity of the Tuscan Hills (surrounded by fields of sunflowers), amazing historic villages, well known places such as the Square in Siena, Portofino, and the Cinque Terre towns, rice read more paddies (who knew) and of course the many vines that Italy is so well known for. We road the bus, cable car, train, boat, horse and carriage, gondola and a valparetto (water taxi). We stood inside the amazing Colosseum, saw the lights of Rome. We were serenaded whilst floating in a Gondola in Venice and experienced the beauty of the mighty Dolomites - so from mountains to the valleys, from the countryside to the sea it was fabulous and highly recommended. Accommodation was fantastic especially the nights spent at our villa in the Tuscan countryside and culminating in a very centrally located 5 star hotel tucked away canal-side in a lane-way in Venice. WOW!
Loved it all and would love to go and do it all again 1Italian EleganceFlane & James Down, Australia, Jul 2013
Thank you Georgie for your professional and diligent approach to our initial enquiry, to our other additional enquiries and the the prompt and efficient delivery of our travel documentation. We had a fabulous trip and would recommend highly others to consider the Italian Elegance Tour as a great way to experience the many facets of the Italian way of read more life. So many places, so many things, so many great experiences. Loved it all and would love to go and do it all again (come on Lotto). Our sincere thanks - job done well.
Excellent tour 1Italian EleganceSharon McHarry, Australia, Jul 2013
The Italian Elegance tour was excellent. It was really good to visit Italy from a roman city, the beautiful hills, the coastline, mountains and Venice.
This was our fourth Insight tour and we enjoyed it very much. There were however some things that we thought could be improved or dropped from the tour. The quality of the food provided varied greatly, even on the optionals. Some were of a good standard some were terrible. Most hotels were of a good standard and the tour director was really professional read more and personable, she made the tour a very pleasant experience.
Northern Capitals & Russia 1Northern CapitalsLana, NSW, Australia, Jun 2013
This was an amazing once in a lifetime experience. Our tour guide was great and made us all feel very welcome. We travelled as a family with 2 children. I was really impressed that my children were able to enjoy the activities and were welcomed by the other guests. Thank you for such an enjoyable journey.
Perfect from start to finish 3Best of ItalyJacque Weston, Australia, Jun 2013
Our 'Best of Italy' tour was perfect from start to finish. We booked this tour with Yvonne who was absolutely amazing. She was quick to answer all our questions and nothing was a problem for her. We are a family of four, two adults and two teenage children. The tour was for 10 nights and it was run by Insight Vacations. Our guide was Belinda who was read more terrific. She was an Australian lady living in Italy and her knowledge of the places we visited was outstanding. My husband and I thought the whole tour was very professionally run. The places we visited were stunning, there weren't too many people on the tour and getting into the attractions quicker than the general public was excellent (especially in peak season). Even my teenage children loved it. I was a little concerned that there wasn't going to be any other teenagers on the tour, but there were about ten which was great. We honestly couldn't fault anything. The hotels were amazing and in great locations. The bus was extremely comfortable. The optional excursions were well worth it, and let's face it, Italy is just bellissimo!
Well designed, well planned and extremely interesting tour 1Wonders of TurkeyJoy Edmistone, Australia, Jun 2013
This is a well designed, well planned and extremely interesting tour which both my daughter and myself enjoyed tremendously. Our guide Basham was an absolute fountain of knowledge, always courteous, always helpful and thoughtful and really good company. Yes - it was a bit tiring with lots of walking but we are not complaining about that! The hotels read more were excellent and majority of meals were well above average. The weather was hot, but manageable and our bus driver kept the supply of cold water well tended. (Ed: Review based on slightly different itinerary. Trip name and itinerary updated this season)
The tour guide and driver were very good 1Alex & Sana Dillon, Australia, Jun 2013
The guide Almando was very good. The driver Sal was also very helpful. nothing was to much trouble for either one. We did order a double bed and kept getting singles, I thought it must have been the tour booking and on the last night I mentioned it to Almando just in general and he sorted it straight away. I should have mentioned it on the first night. read more We will be taking a tour next year, around 22 days of Scotland and Ireland at about the same time.
Good tour. Excellent guide. Pace wasn't as relaxed as indicated in tour description. Food was OK but not great.
Need to allow extra money for the optional extras 1Flavours of EuropeElizabeth Campbell, Australia, Jun 2013
A great tour. We had a very knowledgeable and organised tour guide who went the extra mile to ensure we were all looked after and we had an enjoyable time. Just need to allow extra money for the optional extras, if you don't most of them you 'miss out' on some great places and experiences.
A fabulous trip visiting some truly stunning locations 2Grand Italy & SicilyJaye Chumbley, Australia, Jun 2013
Overall I had a fabulous time on 'The Grand Tour of Italy and Sicily', we had a fun group of people, a great tour director and driver and the tour far exceeded my expectations, particularly as I was travelling alone. I did almost all of the extra excursions and if I had my time over I would do less to allow a little more down/ shopping time. I am fit read more and active so did not have any issues physically, however there were a couple of people on our tour who were not as fit and had problems with steep stairs, no railings and uneven surfaces combined with poor balance. As a physiotherapist, I think it would be beneficial to highlight specific fitness levels required for each excursion so that people can make informed decisions about their ability to participate. The quality of our hotels was very good, however sometimes not quite as close to the city centre as I would have liked. I was also so excited to order an ekit data card, (recommended by Insight) but was bitterly disappointed with this as having loaded $70 onto it which I was assured would enable me to keep in contact easily with my family for a month, it worked briefly in the UK then not at all. I have since contacted ekit and been told that the apps on my ipad would have used all the data in the 2 days I used it. I was not warned of this at all. Our tour director told me he had never known one to work properly. In summary, a fabulous trip, great tour director and driver, lovely clean new bus with lots of leg room, visiting some truly stunning locations.
Great tour. Easy to book through Global Journeys, who are most helpful. Just need to be careful of the optional extras on tour. While some were a great experience there were a couple that were very expensive and not worth it. But overall an excellent tour that I would recommend to anyone.
Insight are surely the masters of first class coach travel 3The Eastern DiscoveryRobert Long, Australia, May 2013
What a great holiday. Insight are surely the masters of first class coach travel and Global Journeys made it all so easy. From the opulence of the Schonbrunn Palace in Austria to the details in the Blue Mosque and the Hagia Sofia in Turkey this was indeed a holiday with a huge variation. If you do do this tour make sure you do the optional tour to read more Mostar in Bosnia-Herzegovina truly one of the highlights of the trip.
This tour was excellent with an emphasis on the larger Cities 2Highlights of Eastern EuropeJoy Edmistone, Australia, May 2013
The tour guide was very knowledgeable on the history of the areas but tended to ramble on a bit much at times. The local guides were excellent. Krakow was very interesting with a big emphasis on the history of the Kings. The highlight for me was the Salt Mines - absolutely amazing! Auschwitz - what can one say. Warsaw was surprising with the amount read more of rebuilding of historical sites. Berlin appeared to me to be drab. The visit to Checkpoint Charlie was spoilt by the huge crowds in the museum and one could only shuffle and see very little. Prague was beautiful and more time could easily be spent there. The only major glitch was having to trundle our own luggage down the cobblestone road to Cesky Krumlov- real revolt on the return trip when passengers all refused to trundle uphill and transport was arranged. Vienna was beautiful but not enough time. The morning visit to the Brewery could easily be removed.
