Back to where our ancestors came from 6 Best of Ireland & Scotland , QLD, Australia, Sep 2016
Insight did a great job. We had a lovely tour guide who wasn't bossy or intrusive and who was musical. The drivers were efficient in carefully negotiating the narrow roads. We only had 31 people on the coach so we had loads of room and plenty of leg room. The hotels were probably the best available. We had enormous breakfasts and just about all hotels read more served black pudding which is only found on special menus here. I loved the company of my fellow guests who came mostly from mid-Canada and Middle-America. They were very friendly nice people even if their political views seemed to favour someone the rest of the world finds not worthy to lead them. I liked Scotland more than I thought I would.
Fantastic holiday in Greece 5 Treasures of Greece & The Islands , NSW, Australia, Aug 2016
Athens especially the Acropolis and the museums were wonderful. Meteora, seaside towns and the islands were very picturesque. The tour director was knowledgeable, organised and amusing. The journey by coach was smooth thanks to the driver. All the hotels suits over needs. The food was delicious and we had a great time participating in Greek dancing. Highly recommended.
Country Roads of France 8 Country Roads of France , VIC, Australia, Aug 2016
A great experience from booking to the end of the tour!! Georgie from Global Journeys was very helpful when I had to change the tour date last minute - thanks again. Then the tour: A wonderful way to experience France: it’s varied landscapes, history, culture and food. Laurent Millet, our tour guide was outstanding , he has a great sense of humour, read more knowledge of history, politics and his explanations of ‘French attitude’ was always very entertaining. He spoilt us with special treats of macaroons, even a delicious wine after one outing. Almost all hotels were excellent and breakfast was always delicious. Tex our driver did a marvellous job navigating narrow and dangerous roads in a big bus, always staying calm. I can recommend Country Roads of France to anyone who would like to experience France without having the stress of driving oneself and finding good hotels.
Excellent Experience 3 Highlights of Spain , New Zealand, Aug 2016
We felt the whole experience was brilliant. As first time travelers to Europe we were somewhat apprehensive of what we had let ourselves in for, however within a few days we knew we had made the right decision. Global journeys provided excellent professional service and given the short notice for our trip (less than 2 months) they took a lot of stress read more out of our lives. The tour operators (Insight) were brilliant, the bus was very comfortable with legroom to burn. We always felt safe in the bus in some very precarious and sometimes narrow roads, the driver was excellent. The tour guide was a wealth of information, was totally organised and she had a great sense of humour. The hotels were mostly well located and reasonably roomy and well kept. Our holiday was right in the middle of the holiday season and the temperatures were on occasions a little on the high side, however because we were a tour group we were able to get priority into the various tourist attractions without having to wait in queues. We bonded well with our fellow passengers and have made lifelong friends as a consequence. We will do it again using Global Journeys and Insight tours.
Spain and Lisbon 2 Grand Spain & Portugal , Vic, Australia, Aug 2016
This was a long trip (18 days) and a lot of time was spent travelling in the coach. For the money we paid I would have thought that many of the optionals should have been included. We do most and it cost us a further 1200€. This makes for a very expensive holiday. The position of the hotels is not convenient. Most times we were situated out of town read more centre and it made it difficult for us to do our own thing. Dinner highlights were on some occasions lowlights; here is the bus group, feed them and get them out of here. Thank heaven both bus drivers and Elena, our guide were accommodating. Elena is vivacious and enthusiastic. Our group was also a great group to travel with.
The only way to see this part of the world 18 Britain & Ireland Discovery , New Zealand, Aug 2016
What a trip! 22 days of amazing sights, castles, cathedrals, and some of the best scenery you can find outside of New Zealand. From the efficient work completed by Leanne from Global Journeys to the inspiring guidemanship from David at Insight Vacations, this holiday was without fault. Some of the personal highlights were visiting a 5000 year old village read more in the Orkney Islands, to a presentation by a modern day Curling player, to a visit to Stonehenge - it really was a journey both through countries and histories across 5000 miles and 5000 years. If I was asked to find fault, I was a little underwhelmed by the accommodation at times, but then so much of it is hundreds of years older than what I am used to in New Zealand. The accommodation was all clean, with good rooms, delicious breakfasts and dinners, and the service was always of a high quality. As far as excursions, we were visiting something new every morning and every afternoon, and the occasional evening too! I handled the pace fine, and I have Multiple Sclerosis and walk with a cane. We travelled a long way by bus but never for more than a two hour stint, then we would stop for 15 minutes to 3 hours and take a break. Do this. Stop thinking about it and do this. You will not be disappointed.
Scandinavia Tour 1 Grand Scandinavia , QLD, Australia, Aug 2016
Overall we thought the tour was excellent, although we would have liked a bit more time in Sweden. Our Insight Coach Driver, Arpad, and Tour Director, Chad were excellent. We had a good mix of age groups and a variety of nationalities USA ( 5 different States), Canada, New Zealand, England, one from South Africa. and Australians from all States except read more Tasmania. The scenery was varied and enjoyable and Norway was stunning with the fjords. Although we rated the tour pace as excellent there are some big days and a number of one night stays due to the distances involved. North Cape as the most northern part of Europe was a highlight and we enjoyed excellent weather (only 2 days of rain and they were travel days). We also rated the accommodation as excellent however, this did vary given the location and size of some places however seemed to be generally the best available. We were well looked after.
Having followed the Insight Tour with a Cruise (and whilst this was also very good) the Insight Tour had some significant advantages in being able to visit places and highlights without the crowds.
A nice way to see Croatia 6 Country Roads of Croatia , SA, Australia, Aug 2016
This is a nice hassle free way to see Croatia. The pace was a bit faster than relaxed but still OK. My advice would be not to take this tour in August (the European holiday season) as we did as some places visited were very busy with tourists. In particular the visit to Plitvice Lakes was unpleasant due to the thousands of tourists there which made read more it impossible to enjoy the beauty of the place. Couple that with an overnight stay in the hotel there which even the tour director was apologising for before we got there and the overall experience was not good. The hotel room we had had no air conditioning other than open the door to the balcony. After the Lakes, the pace slows a bit and it becomes quite pleasant along the coastline. The tour bus was very comfortable and the tour director was excellent. Overall, a nice tour but do it outside the peak season.
Worry free trip throughout the U.K. 2 Britain & Ireland Discovery , VIC, Australia, Aug 2016
A great trip. Nigel was a very good and caring Tour Director. A couple of the hotels were out of town or too far from the shops but I couldn't fault any of the hotels. Booking with Global Journeys was faultless. Shall be back for next years holiday.
Fantastic Experience 2 Grand Scandinavia , NSW, Australia, Aug 2016
Overall this was a wonderful trip. Hannah at Global Journeys was fantastic. She made everything easy. Insight were great to travel with. We had a wonderful tour director and all our fellow travellers were easy to be with. The quality of the hotels overall was good. This trip had everything we wanted in Scandinavia.
Great trip through Spain, Portugal and Morocco 2 Treasures of Spain, Portugal & Morocco , WA, Australia, Aug 2016
We have just completed the Insight Vacations coach tour of Spain, Portugal and Morocco and it was excellent. The Tour director was outstanding with a very relaxed approach but at the same time very organised. Simon was extremely knowledgeable and gave us wonderful insights into the locations and local customs. The drivers were very experienced and read more we felt very safe. Ou tour group were mostly Australians and they were a very friendly, happy group. There was no-one annoying at all The weather was excellent, mostly mid 30's and we had just missed a heatwave which was fortuitous. The hotels were all high quality and rooms were good. The itinerary was very busy as we selected most of the additional optional excursions. There was no pressure to do this however most of our fellow travellers did choose the optional tours. This is our second Insight Vacations coach tour and I would highly recommend the company for those people who like coach tours. We do!
Eastern Europe 3 Highlights of Eastern Europe , NSW, Australia, Aug 2016
Great tour with insight. Tour guide was very helpful and the bus quality & comfort was excellent as expected with Insight. Global Journeys are excellent and will definitely use them again.
Terrific trip, good pace and great tour guide 3 Best of Eastern Canada & USA , NSW, Australia, Jul 2016
Enjoyable trip and good group. Howie the tour guide was sensational, nothing was a problem and his patience and professionalism was outstanding.

Stunning Scandanavia 11 Spectacular Scandinavia & its Fjords , WA, Australia, Jul 2016
This is the second time we have travelled with Insight and we were not disappointed. In a sense we were lucky as we only had 23 in our tour group, 7 from Australia, 2 from India and the remainder American. Everyone was punctual, happy and we enjoyed each other's company. No-one was obnoxious, loud or difficult which is a rarity in this day and age. read more I would not normally choose to travel at peak time and in summer and the only negative was that the hotel in Copenhagan did not have air conditioned rooms so it was warm during the night but the windows opened which helped with the flow of air. Michael our Tour Director was a legend and made the trip even more memorable with his calm but professional demeanour. Nothing was too much trouble and along the way he gave us extra surprises above what was included in the tour. Our coach drive Lazslo also did an amazing job driving at times the very narrow roads especially along the Troll road from Gieranger in Norway. We felt completely safe in his hands and the coach was kept very clean and he always had a smile on his face each day.

he scenery was breathtaking especially in Norway but allow extra spending money for eating out as this is very costly in Scandanavia and alchohol especially in Norway is expensive. I also took a double bed sheet with me as all the rooms have duvets with covers and no top sheet so if you like to have a cover on at night the sheet provided enough warmth without being too hot especially travelling in the middle of summer. I also took an immerser to make a cup of tea in the room as unlike Australia there were no kettles in some of the hotels and this especially applied to Norway.

Overall we had an amazing time, met wonderful people and enjoyed the breathtaking scenery of Scandanavia. I would not hesitate to travel with Insight again especially if we had Michael as our Tour Director and Lazslo driving the coach!
Fantastic tour around Scandanavia 1 Grand Scandinavia , New Zealand, Jul 2016
This trip was absolutely fantastic. A friend of mine had completed the tour a year before we did our trip, listening to her experiences I knew it was worth going. Our tour leader was the best, his knowledge was incredible. He clearly enjoys his job and meeting new people. I'd recommend this trip to everyone. Global Journeys made the trip from initial read more planning to the end so easy.
Fast paced holiday. 1 European Grandeur , QLD, Australia, Jun 2016
Saw a lot and covered a lot of country. Fairly fast paced schedule. The cruise around the Greek Islands very nice but the shore excursions were very rushed-trying to do too much in the time frame available - increase the time frame - way too rushed!!! and not enough time on the Islands. When the cruise was finished it was nice to get back on the read more coach to relax. We thought the cruise would be relaxing-not the case. Probably would be nice to travel more country roads if possible to see more countryside. The motorways have barriers which does spoil the scenery and photography. Something I would take into consideration before booking our next holiday. (Ed: Review based on slightly different itinerary. Trip name and itinerary updated this season)
Wonderful and fantastic Road to Rome   3 Road to Rome , NSW, Australia, Jun 2016
Reading reviews from TripAdvisor regarding Insight Vacations before our tour started created a wait and see until we hit the first day. (GJ. Why didn't you read ours?) We met our Tour Director Brendan Lampard in the hotel and he was so very helpful. All the second thoughts of being on a tour are a thing of the past. All we can think is how to enjoy read more what is there for us to discovery. Brendan has been fantastic from day 1 until the last hour of our tour. He is the most patient tour director I would say. I wish he would be the tour director on every tour that we take in the future. Insight Vacations had taken care of everything for us. All we had to do was enjoy the scenery and the places we all had to see. The coach was very comfortable with extra legroom that you can fit a truckload. The coach ride from Lucern to Salzburg is the leg with the most beautiful scenery. Highly recommended. Optional tours were great as well, with local tour guides that had a broad knowledge of the area - walking in Venice, riding the Gondola, Murano Glass, Burano dinner, San Gimignano and the Eagles Nest were the most popular ones that you should not miss. Visiting Pisa and Orvieto as part of the inclusions on the tour was well worth it. We all had a great time and it's a highly recommended introduction of Europe.
Fabulous switzerland 1 Glorious Switzerland , NSW, Australia, Jun 2016
I had booked the Glorious Switzerland tour with Insight Vacations for myself and my partner and as we had travelled with Insight before, we do know what to expect. There's a lot of inclusions on the tour, hotels are very central, coaches have ample legroom, and a professional and knowledgeable tour director. Overall it was an excellent tour. I also read more would like to commend Hannah Campbell from Global Journey for making the booking for us. She's very prompt in responding to emails and any other queries I may have and I will definitely book with her again.
Scandinavian scenery and lifestyle 3 Grand Scandinavia , VIC, Australia, Jun 2016
Our 20 day tour was full, not a spare seat on the coach which proved it's popularity. I enjoyed the quality of this tour as the accommodation was probably the best available in some of the more remote areas in Lapland. However, the rooms were not air-conditioned in these regions, therefore hot and stuffy, after all it was summer. Fortunately the fans read more provided some relief. This was my 2nd Insight Tour and I would recommend it to people who love crips, gorgeous scenery. But be aware of the long bus rides which are necessary in order to travel so far to reach the North Cape. It's a great way to experience Nordic life and I loved the optional tours to the Husky and reindeer farms.
