Britain & Ireland Explorer 1 Britain & Ireland Explorer , Qld, Australia, Oct 2016
We thoroughly enjoyed our Britain & Ireland Explorer tour. Our tour director Cherryl Duke was so knowledgeable and kept us all entertained with her stories! Great itinerary and pace, just what we wanted. We booked this tour through Global Journeys and would definitely book with them again. Our consultant, Hannah Campbell, was wonderful and took care read more of everything for us. Thank you Hannah! We wouldn't hesitate to book with Global Journeys and Insight Vacations again.
Wonderful Way to see Spain, Portugal and Morocco 6 Treasures of Spain, Portugal & Morocco , SA, Australia, Sep 2016
Insight Vacations certainly made it easier to see these three countries. The itinerary is pretty good with stops at most places I wanted to see in Spain and Morocco, albeit lacking in Portugal. I would have liked to have seen Barcelona in Spain as part of the itinerary, and more places in Portugal. The tour guide for this trip was excellent; he was read more organised, knowledgeable, gentle in dealings with difficult people, respectful at all times to everyone, yet still friendly and approachable. In addition, I liked the optional excursions, the comfortable seating on the coach, the frequent "comfort room" stops, and the decent accommodation and meals included.
Greek Islands 1 , WA, Australia, Sep 2016
Greek islands were everything we expected and more. This was our second tour with Insight Vacations and would not hesitate to recommend them, very well organised and excellent Tour Directors.
9 Day Best of Britain   3 Best of Britain , NSW, Australia, Sep 2016
I chose this tour because it fitted my time frame whilst in England. The tour gives you a snapshot rather than an in depth picture, but was brilliant nonetheless. From beginning to end both Global Journeys and Insight Vacations were excellent to deal with. Many thanks to Yvonne at Global and Howard Insights tour director for their wonderful help and read more guidance in making this a holiday I'll remember for years to come. The coach was comfortable and drivers, Ian and Mike extremely adept at navigating through some of the smallest roads I've seen. I selected all the optional extras offered for a little more and was so glad I did, even eating haggis ( with a sip of red wine between bites). The group I toured with were fantastic fun and easy going - guess I lucked out there, more so with the weather. An all weather coat and thin cardigan were all that was required and some days not even needed. Overall a wonderful experience.
Fabulous Croatia! 8 Country Roads of Croatia , NSW, Australia, Sep 2016
A brilliant and inclusive tour all round. Extra tours well worth it. Our tour guide Marijo was brilliant, informative and a passionate Croatian who generously gave his time, information and experience freely. He went above and beyond to help those needing assistance. A real credit to Insight.
Journey from Rome   3 Flavours of Europe , New Zealand, Sep 2016
Great trip with a good group. The Tour Director and Driver were very good. Highlight of the tour was Rome and Paris. Would like to travel with Insight again.
Great trip to Budapest, Vienna and Prague 3 Easy Pace Budapest, Vienna & Prague , New Zealand, Sep 2016
Had a fantastic time - our host David was simply brilliant; a great sense of humour, terrific knowledge, and his organisation was exemplary. This was the first time we had ever done an organised tour, and were highly impressed. Hotel in Budapest was outstanding; Hilton in Vienna was quite good, although the one in Prague was very average. Overall read more we really enjoyed the group of people - the number (25) was a really good sized group. The tour was a great balance of organised sightseeing and enough time to 'do our own thing' - all made highly enjoyable by a really great tour host.
Quite well organised and fulfilled my expectations. 7 Britain & Ireland Explorer , WA, Australia, Sep 2016
I wasn't impressed with the Alba. The rooms were lovely but the atmosphere was not nice. Plus we had to evacuate due to a faulty fire alarm and two weeks later it went off again. The trip was overall good but a bit rushed at times and things changed a little for convenience. eg. we missed having decent time at Grassmere as we went to it on the way read more rather than come back the next day. It made us late to our accommodation as it was getting dark when we visited. We also arrived at Cardiff Castle at ten to 5.00. The castle closed at 5.00. A part refund was given but it would have been good to see what we went to see. Some hotels were terrific, some average. The carpet in the breakfast room in Edinburgh was disgusting. There was no hot water at Dooleys and the food in Chester left a lot to be desired. The tour guide was knowledgeable and everything went smoothly and was well organised. It was pretty much what I expected. I would like to see the tips for the tour guide and coach driver added to the tour price to save having to keep money to one side.
Iceland Dreaming   6 Natural Wonders of Iceland , QLD, Australia, Sep 2016
Outstanding organization and planning from Global Journeys - they booked the Insight tour around Iceland and then also got me the best airfare deal of all. The booked flights were all on time and my luggage followed me everywhere!
Insight have the best tour guides and the Iceland trip was no different - an extremely informed guide whose expressive read more and receptive English skills were of a very high level. She was a very proud Icelandic woman whose knowledge of her country's history and landscape was complete and up to date. Iceland is beginning to cater for tourists much better and hotels were of a standard to very good quality as we toured around the whole of the island. I would recommend the mix of using Global Journeys and Insight as these two companies have a complete service which delivers on its promises!
Fantastic 22 day UK Tour 7 Britain & Ireland Discovery , QLD, Australia, Sep 2016
This tour had been recommended by a friend and so glad we took the advice. The inclusion of the Orkney Islands is a big plus. After doing 3 previous bus tours with 6.30 - 7am starts this one was a breeze with later starts. Our tour guide - Parri was brilliant as was the driver Simon. They made this an even more memorable trip. Some hotels in the smaller read more towns were a bit average but all adds to the adventure. Would definitely recommend this tour.
Fantastic Trip   8 Treasures of Spain, Portugal & Morocco , SA, Australia, Sep 2016
I absolutely loved this tour. It was just the right length of time and the accommodation was great. We had a fabulous tour director – Daniel Ferguson who was so knowledgeable and such a great guy – he even took us to a couple of extra places to visit which I really loved. I would definitely book an Insight Tour again and booking on line with Global read more journeys was easy and my contact was very helpful always getting back to me quickly. Morocco was amazing I just loved the experience and as I was travelling alone it was a great way to see the country safely and comfortably on the tour. I met some really lovely people, it was a good mixture of singles and couples, some of which I will definitely keep in touch with. Loved the food especially in Morocco (see photo of the tasting plate). Overall I would really recommend this tour of Spain, Portugal and Morocco. I am now looking at doing another couple of tours of Portugal as I would love to see more of that country and Northern Spain. Thanks again Lauren for all your assistance in organising this trip.
We had THE BEST time!   11 Britain & Ireland Discovery , NSW, Australia, Sep 2016
Our trip began perfectly; temperature in London was in the high20's on our arrival & the weather remained perfect for the whole tour - even though we had a wet coldish day in the Orkneys, it was still perfect. Our guide Mark was excellent, knowledgeable & such a "people person" going beyond to make sure all guests were happy. The destinations gave a read more areal taste of the UK & we now have plenty of options for return visits. Accomodation was excellent, clean & comfortable & although some were a little less opulent they were the top hotels in areas where there are just you & the sheep. Our two coach drivers, King Arthur & Grant were both excellent & helpful. We felt completely safe the whole journey. This was our first Insight tour & it definitely won't be our last - we had the time of our lives.
Back to where our ancestors came from 6 Best of Ireland & Scotland , QLD, Australia, Sep 2016
Insight did a great job. We had a lovely tour guide who wasn't bossy or intrusive and who was musical. The drivers were efficient in carefully negotiating the narrow roads. We only had 31 people on the coach so we had loads of room and plenty of leg room. The hotels were probably the best available. We had enormous breakfasts and just about all hotels read more served black pudding which is only found on special menus here. I loved the company of my fellow guests who came mostly from mid-Canada and Middle-America. They were very friendly nice people even if their political views seemed to favour someone the rest of the world finds not worthy to lead them. I liked Scotland more than I thought I would.
Fantastic holiday in Greece 5 Treasures of Greece & the Islands , NSW, Australia, Aug 2016
Athens especially the Acropolis and the museums were wonderful. Meteora, seaside towns and the islands were very picturesque. The tour director was knowledgeable, organised and amusing. The journey by coach was smooth thanks to the driver. All the hotels suits over needs. The food was delicious and we had a great time participating in Greek dancing. Highly recommended.
Country Roads of France 8 Country Roads of France , VIC, Australia, Aug 2016
A great experience from booking to the end of the tour!! Georgie from Global Journeys was very helpful when I had to change the tour date last minute - thanks again. Then the tour: A wonderful way to experience France: it’s varied landscapes, history, culture and food. Laurent Millet, our tour guide was outstanding , he has a great sense of humour, read more knowledge of history, politics and his explanations of ‘French attitude’ was always very entertaining. He spoilt us with special treats of macaroons, even a delicious wine after one outing. Almost all hotels were excellent and breakfast was always delicious. Tex our driver did a marvellous job navigating narrow and dangerous roads in a big bus, always staying calm. I can recommend Country Roads of France to anyone who would like to experience France without having the stress of driving oneself and finding good hotels.
Excellent Experience 3 Highlights of Spain , New Zealand, Aug 2016
We felt the whole experience was brilliant. As first time travelers to Europe we were somewhat apprehensive of what we had let ourselves in for, however within a few days we knew we had made the right decision. Global journeys provided excellent professional service and given the short notice for our trip (less than 2 months) they took a lot of stress read more out of our lives. The tour operators (Insight) were brilliant, the bus was very comfortable with legroom to burn. We always felt safe in the bus in some very precarious and sometimes narrow roads, the driver was excellent. The tour guide was a wealth of information, was totally organised and she had a great sense of humour. The hotels were mostly well located and reasonably roomy and well kept. Our holiday was right in the middle of the holiday season and the temperatures were on occasions a little on the high side, however because we were a tour group we were able to get priority into the various tourist attractions without having to wait in queues. We bonded well with our fellow passengers and have made lifelong friends as a consequence. We will do it again using Global Journeys and Insight tours.
Spain and Lisbon 2 Grand Spain & Portugal , Vic, Australia, Aug 2016
This was a long trip (18 days) and a lot of time was spent travelling in the coach. For the money we paid I would have thought that many of the optionals should have been included. We do most and it cost us a further 1200€. This makes for a very expensive holiday. The position of the hotels is not convenient. Most times we were situated out of town read more centre and it made it difficult for us to do our own thing. Dinner highlights were on some occasions lowlights; here is the bus group, feed them and get them out of here. Thank heaven both bus drivers and Elena, our guide were accommodating. Elena is vivacious and enthusiastic. Our group was also a great group to travel with.
The only way to see this part of the world 18 Britain & Ireland Discovery , New Zealand, Aug 2016
What a trip! 22 days of amazing sights, castles, cathedrals, and some of the best scenery you can find outside of New Zealand. From the efficient work completed by Leanne from Global Journeys to the inspiring guidemanship from David at Insight Vacations, this holiday was without fault. Some of the personal highlights were visiting a 5000 year old village read more in the Orkney Islands, to a presentation by a modern day Curling player, to a visit to Stonehenge - it really was a journey both through countries and histories across 5000 miles and 5000 years. If I was asked to find fault, I was a little underwhelmed by the accommodation at times, but then so much of it is hundreds of years older than what I am used to in New Zealand. The accommodation was all clean, with good rooms, delicious breakfasts and dinners, and the service was always of a high quality. As far as excursions, we were visiting something new every morning and every afternoon, and the occasional evening too! I handled the pace fine, and I have Multiple Sclerosis and walk with a cane. We travelled a long way by bus but never for more than a two hour stint, then we would stop for 15 minutes to 3 hours and take a break. Do this. Stop thinking about it and do this. You will not be disappointed.
Scandinavia Tour 1 Grand Scandinavia , QLD, Australia, Aug 2016
Overall we thought the tour was excellent, although we would have liked a bit more time in Sweden. Our Insight Coach Driver, Arpad, and Tour Director, Chad were excellent. We had a good mix of age groups and a variety of nationalities USA ( 5 different States), Canada, New Zealand, England, one from South Africa. and Australians from all States except read more Tasmania. The scenery was varied and enjoyable and Norway was stunning with the fjords. Although we rated the tour pace as excellent there are some big days and a number of one night stays due to the distances involved. North Cape as the most northern part of Europe was a highlight and we enjoyed excellent weather (only 2 days of rain and they were travel days). We also rated the accommodation as excellent however, this did vary given the location and size of some places however seemed to be generally the best available. We were well looked after.
Having followed the Insight Tour with a Cruise (and whilst this was also very good) the Insight Tour had some significant advantages in being able to visit places and highlights without the crowds.
A nice way to see Croatia 6 Country Roads of Croatia , SA, Australia, Aug 2016
This is a nice hassle free way to see Croatia. The pace was a bit faster than relaxed but still OK. My advice would be not to take this tour in August (the European holiday season) as we did as some places visited were very busy with tourists. In particular the visit to Plitvice Lakes was unpleasant due to the thousands of tourists there which made read more it impossible to enjoy the beauty of the place. Couple that with an overnight stay in the hotel there which even the tour director was apologising for before we got there and the overall experience was not good. The hotel room we had had no air conditioning other than open the door to the balcony. After the Lakes, the pace slows a bit and it becomes quite pleasant along the coastline. The tour bus was very comfortable and the tour director was excellent. Overall, a nice tour but do it outside the peak season.
