A place of extraordinary cultural significance, Uluru is known as one of the great natural wonders of the world. Also known as the Olgas, Kata Tjuta is made up of a total of 36 domes with the tallest being a height of 546 metres (1496 feet), and is a must see geological marvel. In order to witness the breathtaking scale of the domes, it is best to venture between them, consider the Walpa Gorge and Valley of the Winds walks. With Walpa meaning whistle in the Anangu language, you can listen out for the whistle of the wind which is what Walpa Gorge is named after. Valley of the Winds is a longer walk and will take you through several domes all delivering stunning views.
A spectacular natural formation in Watarrka National Park, Kings Canyon's sandstone walls soar to a height of over 100 metres (328 feet). Venture on a 6 kilometre (3.7 mile) walk around the canyon and you will be rewarded with unforgettable views.
The ‘Alice,’ is bordered by the rugged MacDonnell Ranges and has a vast range of Red Centre experiences on its doorstep. Alice Springs is also the gateway to the iconic Uluru, Kata Tjuta and Kings Canyon. Whilst in Alice, visit the Royal Flying Doctor Service and School of the Air and wander through town where you will find local aboriginal art and you can interact with the friendly locals. The gorge is made up of three different gorges and home to exceptional beauty and breathtaking landscapes. The best way to witness this beauty is by cruising on Katherine Gorge with a dedicated guide sharing the history and stories of the area. Be amazed with the natural beauty as you cruise 12 kilometres (7 miles) between cliff faces that reach more than 70 metres (230 feet) in height.
