The Holiday: Western Wonderland
A day of discovery lies ahead as your 4WD tour takes you through the highlights of the world’s largest sand island. Walk through the ancient rainforest at Central Station and marvel at the crystal clear waters of Wanggoolba Creek with its shady canopy of rainforest trees. Across the island at 75 Mile Beach, follow the sand highway up the eastern coast to the Pinnacles Coloured Sands; cooling, calm waters of Eli Creek and the famous sinking Maheno Shipwreck.
The Holiday: East Coast Islands & Rainforest
You’ll be moved by an AAT Kings exclusive experience at the Mangkaja Arts Resource Agency & Gallery at Fitzroy Crossing. A guided tour hosted by the Centre Curator offers an opportunity to not only view the original Aboriginal artworks, but to see the local artists working in the studio. Renowned for their uninhibited style and lively use of colour and representative of both the river and desert people of the Great Sandy Desert, you can purchase art directly from the local Aboriginal artists which contributes to the running and operating of the arts centre.
