I had an absolute whale of a time on the joint Tru Travels India & Sri Lanka tours in January 2025. I got an amazing discount for the tour on Global Journeys Black Friday Sale. Rachael at Global Journeys was a great, helpful travel advisor. She had great communication skills & kept me updated with regular emails & I even called her to chat. Nothing read more was too much trouble. I loved the Tru Travels itinerary and the extra amazing Tru Travel exclusive visits that other tour companies would never take you too. Both Shivy our Indian tour guide & Hasi our Sri Lankan tour guides were wonderful, knowledgeable, friendly guys & amazing dancers 😍. Both my tour group families loved and accepted me, even though I am older than the normal younger age bracket. We all got on so well and I'm proud to call them my family. A well organised trip featuring a wide range of cultural visits interspersed with cycling of varying levels of difficulty. Guide was very knowledgeable and managed the group well. Food interesting but be prepared to eat spicy meals every day.

We thoroughly enjoyed our recent Bunnik tour of Sri Lanka. Everything from the pick up at the air port to the drop off 17 days later ran very smoothly. The accommodation was great as was the choice of meals. There were only 6 on this tour and we all got on very well. Our tour guide and all other hosts we had were friendly, knowledgeable and passionate read more about what they did and their country. Services we received were exceptional. We had some great experiences and there were many lovely touches, such as our welcome cocktails in the mangroves, followed by a BBQ accompanied by a couple playing instruments and singing. The cold face cloths provided on the humid days after experiences were very welcome. Thanks to Global for their organisation. We would recommend both Global and Bunnik to those planning a holiday.

COVID precautions were taken very seriously in Sri Lanka . The hotels took our temperature and provided hand cleaning regularly. The guide organised our return Covid tests at the penultimate hotel, which was very helpful. I felt very safe travelling during COVID times. The boat company for the whale watching handed out sea sickness tablets. They were read more ridiculously strong and I could hardly stay awake! Perhaps I was foolish in accepting them but I think they should come with a warning!
We have just arrived home from our 17 day trip with Bunnik to Sri Lanka, an amazing country with so much history. Our guide Priya was very knowledgeable, entertaining and made us very much at home in his beautiful country. Our group of 17 was very compatible and the bus we travelled in was an excellent size which gave us all plenty of room to move around read more seats to view the countryside. Hotels were excellent and the meals, what can you say, the very best of Sri Lankan cooking especially the locals that opened up their houses to prepare beautiful curries from their home grown ingredients.
Staying at Yala National Park was one of the highlights with seeing so much of the wildlife and the skill of the Jeep drivers. Other highlights were climbing Lion Rock and the history surrounding the palace built on the top, the train trip from Nuwara Eliya through the tea plantations and learning so much about the history of this magnificent island.
