Itinerary

Your Small Group Discovery Tour begins!

Welcome to Nairobi, gateway to your dream safari. Hotel rooms are available for mid-afternoon check-in.

Conservation Matters

Guided sightseeing starts with a game drive in Nairobi National Park. Then visit the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust to learn about elephant conservation, including orphaned elephant calves. As part of Globus family of brands Lighthouse Project, your visit contributes to the Trust's mission.

Also visit the Karen Blixen Museum, dedicated to the Danish baroness and author of Out of Africa—a 1937 autobiographical account (later adapted into an Academy Award-winning film) that illustrates her life as a coffee farmer and her connections with Kenya. Later, visit the Giraffe Center to learn about the Rothschild giraffe.

LOCAL FAVORITE - WILDLIFE WORRIORS: Discover the world's most successful rescue and rehabilitation program for orphaned elephants and rhinos at the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust. Orphans, rescued from threats such as poaching and habitat loss, are brought to the Nairobi Nursery for round-the-clock care from dedicated Keepers, who help them heal from grief and trauma. As the animals recover, they move to reintegration centers like Ithumba, where they learn vital survival skills and gradually reconnect with wild herds. Many eventually return to the wild, and the project has even welcomed 92 babies born to former orphans now thriving in their natural habitat. Visiting the Trust offers a meaningful look at conservation in action and a chance to support Kenya's remarkable wildlife.

TOUR HIGHLIGHT - TALL ORDERS: Operated by the African Fund for Endangered Wildlife, the Giraffe Center in Nairobi is a non-profit organization focused on saving the Rothschild giraffe. During a visit to this remarkable sanctuary, learn about this giraffe sub-species and meet them up close!

Included Meals: Breakfast, Dinner

In the Shadows of “Kili”

Depart for Amboseli National Park arriving at the camp for lunch. Following lunch and time to enjoy the facilities, set out on an afternoon game drive. Celebrate your arrival in the bush with Sundowners and dinner at camp. As part of Globus family of brands Lighthouse Project, your visit contributes to Wildlife Conservation Network's Lion Recovery Fund, aimed at recovering the lion population in Africa. This is one example of our commitment to supporting the people and places we share with you.

TOUR HIGHLIGHT - ACCOMMODATION SPOTLIGHT: A guest favorite, Praro Amboseli rests on the scenic Aloca Conservancy at the base of Mount Kilimanjaro, overlooking a tranquil dam where animals gather from dawn to dusk. Watch birdlife arrive to drink or elephants mud wallow during the hottest hours of the day. The swimming pool and restaurant provide a peaceful place to relax between game drives. Spacious luxury tents feature indoor and outdoor lounging areas, en suite bathrooms, luxury bedding, and more. Here, modern comfort meets the quiet rhythm of the wild—your front row seat to the magic of Amboseli.

LOCAL FAVORITE - SUNDOWNER DRINKS: This evening, as the sun sets with “Kili” as the backdrop, savor a memorable happy hour in the bush! The origin of the tradition dates to British colonialism in Africa in the 18th century and was born out of necessity rather than enjoyment. Containing quinine-infused tonic and gin, colonizers drank it to ward off malaria. As the British Empire expanded into Africa, the popularity of gin and tonic spread with it. Today, Sundowners mark the transition from day to night.

Included Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Adventure in Amboseli

Morning and afternoon game drives await! This is one of the best places in Africa to meet the mighty elephant up close, their quiet power filling the landscape. You may also glimpse Cape buffalo, zebra, wild dog, and a host of other creatures moving across the plains.

TOUR HIGHLIGHT - NATURAL WONDERS: Nestled at the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro, Amboseli is a landscape where vast golden plains stretch toward Africa's highest peak and wildlife moves in quiet harmony with the land. Famous for its remarkably approachable elephant herds, the park offers rare, intimate encounters with these gentle giants as they roam beneath the mountain's iconic snowcapped silhouette. Throughout the day, shimmering wetlands, acacia woodlands, and open savannahs draw an array of wildlife, from zebra and buffalo to cheetah and graceful antelope, creating a vivid tapestry of life.

Included Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Border Duties & Into Tanzania

This morning, cross into Tanzania at the Namanga border, then enjoy lunch at Arusha's largest coffee plantation. Continue to Tarangire National Park, a landscape dotted with baobab and acacia trees and its year-round water source, the Tarangire River. Tarangire is famous for its exceptional wildlife viewing and the highest density of elephants in the world, offering unforgettable close-up encounters. After arriving at your lodge, check in and relax before dinner.

TOUR HIGHLIGHT - SMALL GROUP EXCLUSIVE: At Intimate Places Camp, experience the African wilderness in its purest form with luxury mobile camping. Set in exclusive, remote locations chosen for their proximity to wildlife and seasonal events; these camps place you right at the heart of the action. Blending classic safari charm with modern comforts, each camp, exclusive to our small group, features spacious canvas tents with hot showers, flush toilets, solar power, and gourmet meals. A dedicated team, including private chefs, butlers, and tent attendants, ensures seamless service. This is safari at its most immersive and intimate: no crowds, no distractions—just nature at your doorstep and luxury woven effortlessly into every moment.

Included Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Tantalizing Tarangire

Rise early for a morning game drive, where giraffes, zebras, Cape buffalo, and countless other species greet the day across the savannah. You may spot a pride of lions lounging in the shade, a herd of buffalo wading into the water, or a majestic parade of elephants moving quietly through the bush. Return to your lodge for some free time to relax before heading out on an afternoon game drive. This evening, savor a memorable dinner crafted by our private chef.

TOUR HIGHLIGHT - A RIVER RUNS THROUGH: The Tarangire River is the life blood of its namesake national park, providing life-giving refuge for the largest elephant population in North Tanzania. During the dry season, this permanent water source draws an extraordinary gathering of wildlife. Thirsty elephants, wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, and gazelle converge on the riverbanks in great numbers, followed closely by predators such as lion and leopard. It's a dramatic spectacle of survival—an ever-changing parade of animals drawn to Tarangire's vital waters.

Included Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Forest Foray & Views on Views

After breakfast, travel overland to Lake Manyara National Park, a small, ecologically diverse park with groundwater forests, grassy plains, and the alkaline Lake Manyara. The park is also home to the world's largest concentration of baboons. Watch for these mischievous primates, giraffes, hippos, and more on your afternoon game drive. Tonight, enjoy a Boma fireside dinner to savor authentic African cuisine.

TOUR HIGHLIGHT - LAKESIDE LEGENDS: Lake Manyara National Park is a breathtaking safari haven, characterized by its expansive soda lake and diverse wildlife, including tree-climbing lions, elephants, and vibrant bird species amidst stunning landscapes of woodlands, forests, and grasslands. From large troops of forest baboons to trumpeting herds of elephants, the lake is also a sanctuary for thirsty buffaloes, warthogs, giraffes, wildebeest, and zebras.

Included Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

On the Endless Plains

After breakfast, journey overland toward the legendary Serengeti National Park, Tanzania's largest and most celebrated wilderness. Its name, drawn from the Maasai word siringit, meaning “endless plains,” captures the very essence of this boundless horizon. Arrive at your tented camp for a leisurely lunch, surrounded by the quiet rhythm of the wild, before heading out on an afternoon game drive to witness Serengeti's timeless beauty come alive.

Surrounded by rich biodiversity and the gentle rhythms of the Serengeti, it offers a peaceful retreat to return to after rewarding days on safari.

Included Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Serengeti Serendipity

Rise early for a morning game drive including an exclusive bush breakfast. Be sure to watch for elephants, giraffes, hyenas, and more. Return to the camp and relax prior to your afternoon game drive.

TOUR HIGHLIGHT - ICONIC AFRICA: The Serengeti is Africa as you've always imagined it – vast, golden plains stretching to the horizon and a timeless rhythm of wildlife moving freely across the land. Renowned for its sweeping landscapes and extraordinary concentration of animals, it is home to the famed Big Five and the legendary Great Migration, where millions of wildebeest and zebra journey across the savannah in a spectacle unlike anywhere else on earth. Each safari drive reveals something new: lions lazing in the sun, elephants wandering through acacia woodlands, cheetahs scanning the grasslands, and endless herds grazing beneath an endless sky.

LOCAL FAVORITE - BREAKFAST IN THE BUSH: As part of your morning game drive, you'll be treated to this time-honored safari experience in Africa's unmatched landscapes, reminiscent of Africa's early explorers. Sip coffee or tea as you savor this memorable experience in the wild.

Included Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Into Africa's Eden

Enjoy one last game drive this morning before returning to the lodge for lunch. Later, visit the storied Olduvai Gorge, revered as the “Cradle of Mankind”, where ancient fossils have illuminated the earliest chapters of human history. From here, continue onward into the breathtaking Ngorongoro Conservation Area, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and sanctuary of sweeping landscapes and rich wildlife. Elephants roam the hills, lions patrol the plains, gazelles and zebras move in graceful herds, and with luck, you may even glimpse the endangered rhino in this timeless haven.

TOUR HIGHLIGHT - ACCOMMODATION SPOTLIGHT: The Oldeani Mountain Lodge is a five star, colonial style lodge perched on a picturesque hilltop, offering sweeping 360 degree views of the Ngorongoro Crater Rim and the distant lakes of Eyasi and Manyara. Set within 40 acres of lush gardens and native vegetation with more than 130 bird species; the property feels like a serene sanctuary suspended above the landscape. Rooms feature expansive views of the surrounding wilderness and are elegantly appointed with the refined comforts expected of a world class luxury lodge. With its elevated setting, timeless charm, and exceptional amenities, this lodge offers an unforgettable blend of luxury, tranquility, and breathtaking natural beauty.

Included Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Echoes of Eyasi

Venture to Lake Eyasi, where dramatic landscapes and rich cultural traditions create an unforgettable adventure. This remote, unspoiled area offers a rare opportunity to connect deeply with some of Tanzania's most remarkable tribes. Meet members of the Hadzabe tribe, one of the last remaining hunter-gatherer communities in East Africa. Walk alongside them as they demonstrate how they live lightly on the land, taking only what they need and leaving virtually no trace on their environment.

After lunch at the scenic Lake Eyasi Lodge, visit the Datoga community, known for their skilled farming and metalworking traditions, for insight into how their expansive farms and handcrafted tools shape daily life around Lake Eyasi.

LOCAL FAVORITE - SMALL GROUP EXCLUSIVE: Discover two distinct ways of life, both deeply connected to the landscape they call home. Experience the unique cultures of Lake Eyasi, where communities live in close harmony with the land that sustains them. Begin with the Hadzabe, whose language is unlike any other on Earth. They'll share how they hunt, forage, and thrive in balance with the environment, offering a rare window into a lifestyle that has remained largely unchanged for centuries. Continue on to the Datoga, renowned farmers, artisans, and blacksmiths. Explore their traditional homes, watch skilled craftsmen at work, and gain firsthand insight into the customs and traditions that define daily life. Immerse yourself in culture, nature, and living history at Lake Eyasi—an experience as authentic as it is unforgettable.

Included Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Into Africa's Eden

Descend into the crater for a full-day game drive. Ngorongoro Crater is technically a caldera, the world's largest unflooded one, at more than 2,000 feet deep with a floor covering over 102 square miles. Game viewing here is fantastic as most of the animals stay in this area year-round, affording the opportunity to see lion, hyena, hippo, elephant, as well as the best chance to see the rare black rhinoceros. Tonight, enjoy an exclusive poolside farewell dinner.
