Itinerary

Depart from your hotel at 2:00 PM for a panoramic tour of the city. Highlights include 18th-century Georgian houses with brightly painted doors, tranquil parks, and historic O’Connell Street. Visit Teeling Whiskey Distillery in the heart of the historic Liberties area for a tour and tasting.

In the evening, enjoy a welcome drink with your group at the hotel, and then you are free to explore the city and dine as you wish.

Enjoy the delightful scenery of the Wicklow Mountains on the way to Glendalough. Explore the remains of one of the most important monastic sites in Ireland, founded by St. Kevin in the 6th century. Walk through the deep valley to view the picturesque ruins of a round tower, churches, and Celtic crosses. Head southeast to the Dunbrody Famine Ship, an authentic reproduction of an 1840’s vessel that brought desperate Irish emigrants fleeing famine to the New World.

Continue on to Waterford and take a stroll around the streets of this historic city with a local guide before dinner at your hotel. (B/D)

See skilled artisans create crystal masterpieces at the House of Waterford Crystal, a CIE Tours preferred shopping partner. Travel to Cobh for a guided walking tour - this harbor town was the last port of call for the Titanic in 1912 and was also the main point of embarkation for Irish emigrants between 1848 and 1960. Visit Blarney Castle and kiss the famous “Stone of Eloquence” or explore the tranquil gardens. Journey west through rugged countryside to dinner at your hotel in beautiful County Kerry. (B/D)

Discover Ireland’s most popular scenic drive, the Ring of Kerry. In the beautiful Gap of Dunloe, find a keepsake at our CIE Tours preferred shopping partner, Moriarty’s. Along the way, stop for lunch, stroll around Sneem, and take in the panoramic views at Moll’s Gap. Enjoy a free evening in Killarney, with time for dining independently and perhaps a visit to one of the town’s lively pubs. (B/L)

Take a ferry across the River Shannon and travel along the scenic coast of County Clare to the Cliffs of Moher, stunning formations soaring 700 feet above the churning Atlantic and extending for nine miles. Take in the spectacular views as you walk atop the cliffs. Travel on through the austere beauty of the Burren, a distinctive limestone landscape formed by glaciers, to Galway. Take a panoramic tour of this vibrant, artistic city before dinner at your hotel. (B/D)

Immerse yourself in traditional farm life during a visit to an authentic working farm, where you’ll watch trained dogs round up mountain sheep. Continue through the rugged mountainous landscape to Donegal, to visit CIE Tours’ preferred shopping partner Triona Design, then enjoy free time. In Derry, walk with a local guide through this ancient walled city, long known for its tumultuous history but now a thriving artistic hub. Dine at your hotel this evening. (B/D)

Explore the northern coastline and the Giant’s Causeway, enormous hexagonal columns formed by volcanic activity more than 60 million years ago. Visit Titanic Belfast and learn about the ill-fated ship through state-of-the-art displays. See the docks where the famous liner was built just over a century ago. At the Glyde Inn, enjoy a farewell dinner with Irish specialties and entertainment featuring traditional Irish music and songs. (B/D)

Your tour ends after breakfast. (B)

Well organised from start to finish. A great tour, thanks. 1 , NSW, Australia, Mar 2023
We booked our tour through Global Journeys. Tracey could not be more helpful, friendly and obliging especially as the booking was done around the Christmas period. All paperwork was handled professionally and efficiently. At all times Tracey was available for advice about the trip. The tour itself was wonderful. Brian was our tour director, guide read more and coach driver. He was highly knowledgeable, fun and kept us all on track and in the right place at the right time. We were delighted with both Brian and Tracey and the overall tour. Thank you so much.

We experienced the full tour of the Republic of Ireland as well as Northern Ireland in 8 days. It was a fully packed week of sights and sounds of Ireland. A great tour 1 , Australia, Jul 2019
We booked our tour for 4 including 2 British and 2 Taiwanese as family holiday. I have to give Frank our tour guide 5 star since he really did a great job driving and very informative telling us about Ireland and Northern Ireland. I really enjoyed the Book of Kells in Dublin and The skelling experience. The view around the west coast just brilliant, read more wonderful view. I also really enjoyed the Londonderry the local tour showed us the historic part of Derry. All in all it was a great tour we really enjoyed it!
Snapshot of Ireland 1 , Australia, Jul 2019
This is a very good tour to get a snapshot of Ireland. We feel that an extra day would be beneficial to explore the north of Ireland in more detail. For example a visit to the rope bridge near the Giant's Causeway, some free time in Belfast to see the city as an alternative to the Titanic Centre, then maybe visit the linen centre on the way south.
An Irish Adventure 1 , Australia, Jun 2019
We joined this tour not knowing what to expect. However, the other 36 people on the bus (from United States, Australia, New Zealand and Belgium) and our wonderfully vibrant driver, Niall, made us feel welcome from the first moment we started gathering in the lobby of the hotel. This set the scene for a friendly and interesting week as we shared stories, read more photos and experiences. The quality of the tour guides who joined our trip at the various places kept us well informed and helped us appreciate each of the places we visited. Each one was knowledgeable and witty. The accommodation selected for us made our evenings comfortable, especially the hotels in Kilkenny and Galway! While every place we visited had a special appeal, we thoroughly enjoyed meeting 'real people' such as the Atlantic Sheepdog sheep farm and the Glyde Inn. These were ordinary people moving out of their comfort zone to engage in tourism and enable us to join in on ordinary life in rural Ireland. The coach was comfortable and glided along all types of roads - from the small-laned country roads to the freeways. Niall's skill in navigating was awesome!
