Itinerary

Depart from your hotel at 2:00 PM for a panoramic tour of the city. Highlights include 18th-century Georgian houses with brightly painted doors, tranquil parks, and historic O'Connell Street. Visit Teeling Whiskey Distillery in the heart of the historic Liberties area for a tour and tasting.

In the evening, enjoy a welcome drink with your group at the hotel, and then you are free to explore the city and dine as you wish.

Enjoy the delightful scenery of the Wicklow Mountains on the way to Glendalough. Explore the remains of one of the most important monastic sites in Ireland, founded by St. Kevin in the 6th century. Walk through the deep valley to view the picturesque ruins of a round tower, churches, and Celtic crosses. Head southeast to the Dunbrody Famine Ship, an authentic reproduction of an 1840's vessel that brought desperate Irish emigrants fleeing famine to the New World.

Continue on to Waterford and take a stroll around the streets of this historic city with a local guide before dinner at your hotel. (B/D)

See skilled artisans create crystal masterpieces at the House of Waterford Crystal, a CIE Tours preferred shopping partner. Travel to Cobh for a guided walking tour - this harbor town was the last port of call for the Titanic in 1912 and was also the main point of embarkation for Irish emigrants between 1848 and 1960. Visit Blarney Castle and kiss the famous “Stone of Eloquence” or explore the tranquil gardens. Journey west through rugged countryside to dinner at your hotel in beautiful County Kerry. (B/D)

Discover Ireland's most popular scenic drive, the Ring of Kerry. In the beautiful Gap of Dunloe, find a keepsake at our CIE Tours preferred shopping partner, Moriarty's. Along the way, stop for lunch, stroll around Sneem, and take in the panoramic views at Moll's Gap. Enjoy a free evening in Killarney, with time for dining independently and perhaps a visit to one of the town's lively pubs. (B/L)

Take a ferry across the River Shannon and travel along the scenic coast of County Clare to the Cliffs of Moher, stunning formations soaring 700 feet above the churning Atlantic and extending for nine miles. Take in the spectacular views as you walk atop the cliffs. Travel on through the austere beauty of the Burren, a distinctive limestone landscape formed by glaciers, to Galway. Take a panoramic tour of this vibrant, artistic city before dinner at your hotel. (B/D)

Immerse yourself in traditional farm life during a visit to an authentic working farm, where you'll watch trained dogs round up mountain sheep. Continue through the rugged mountainous landscape to Donegal, to visit CIE Tours' preferred shopping partner Triona Design, then enjoy free time. In Derry, walk with a local guide through this ancient walled city, long known for its tumultuous history but now a thriving artistic hub. Dine at your hotel this evening. (B/D)

Explore the northern coastline and the Giant's Causeway, enormous hexagonal columns formed by volcanic activity more than 60 million years ago. Visit Titanic Belfast and learn about the ill-fated ship through state-of-the-art displays. See the docks where the famous liner was built just over a century ago. At the Glyde Inn, enjoy a farewell dinner with Irish specialties and entertainment featuring traditional Irish music and songs. (B/D)

Explore Dublin independently on the Hop-On, Hop-Off bus. Use your voucher to visit one of Dublin's top attractions: Guinness Storehouse, EPIC The Irish Emigration Museum, Jameson Distillery Bow St. Experience, or GPO Museum.

In the evening, dine independently at one of Dublin's many restaurants or pubs. (B)

Your tour ends after breakfast. (B)

Great Irish Adventure 1 , Australia, Sep 2019
I would like to thank Murt our Driver and Tour Guide for a great time in Ireland, everything was organised, we didn't have to worry about anything he was there for us and our needs. I would recommend this tour.
Up there with the best 1 , Australia, Jun 2019
Having been on many coach tours with various companies, my CIE tour was up there with the best. Great hotels with excellent choice of food and service. Best of all was our driver/guide Murt Oshea, this manÆs knowledge of the history of Ireland was second to none. He kept us entertained from day one with his stories of growing up and living in Ireland read more as well as his singing and overall personality, very much an asset to CIE Tours. I would certainly recommend CIE to all.
We had an absolute ball! 1 , Australia, Jun 2019
We had an absolute ball on our Irish Adventure tour and a significant part of that was due to our tour director Dave Darby. He looked after us and kept us laughing the whole way while all the time making sure we learned plenty about the sights we were seeing. I would recommend Dave and the CIE Tours team to anyone. It was a truly memorable experience. Thank you.
We recommend CIE to everyone who asks 1 , Australia, Feb 2019
We have recently completed a 9 day tour of Ireland commencing 15th Feb. It was a wonderful tour, whatever CIE are paying our guide Frank it is not enough, he made us feel welcome, he was funny, informative, passionate and ensured a great time was had by everyone. His knowledge and information is incredible, from him we were able to learn more than we read more could have hoped while also having a great time. This tour was well organised, the food and accommodation was incredible, the evening walks were well worth it (especially in Derry). We have returned to Australia telling everyone about our tour, recommending CIE to everyone who asks. We would not have any hesitation in booking another tour with CIE tours again.
An Irish Adventure with an excellent guide 1 , Australia, Oct 2018
Our CIE driver guide Frank Foster was excellent! We had a full coach, so Frank had many people to deal with and I must say that I was very impressed with his professionalism, and his knowledge of Irish history. I find it quite amazing that Frank was equally expert at moving that coach around and giving us a full account of Irish history and some Irish read more humour all at the same time! All of the tour guides in the cities were so wonderful! We truly enjoyed the tour guide in Cobh, (I think Michael) he was just great and painted a wonderful picture for us all with his stories and facts.
We were so pleased with our stops on this tour. I even got to see the Cliffs of Moher at last! (The last time I was there years ago it was fogged in!). We found the Skellig Experience very interesting, the new visitor centre at GiantÆs Causeway was very well done and of course we were truly impressed with the Titanic Museum in Belfast! The best thing about the tour was of course our contact with the local people and the fine service. The hotels were very good, and as mentioned in the beginning of my comments I have high regard for our driver/guide Frank Foster and his fine sense of making the trip enjoyable for everyone, his professionalism as well as his Irish sense of humour.
Phenomenal guide 2 , Australia, May 2018
Brian Hanrahan was phenomenal, polite, funny and all around excellent. He went above and beyond to make everyone happy. He noticed our son wasn't eating and arranged a plain pasta dinner for him, which was very nice. We knew he'd be picky but very much appreciated his kindness. We'll definitely use CIE again and recommend them to anyone who listens.
Beautiful country and fabulous guide 1 , Australia, Jul 2017
What a beautiful country Ireland is, we had a super tour. Our driver, tour guide, comic, and all-round raconteur Brian H. did a fabulous job. Cannot praise him highly enough. Great stories and jokes kept us all amused and well informed. His organisation was first rate.
Thoroughly impressed from start to finish 1 , Australia, May 2017
Our tour started out with a little bus trouble, but our excellent bus driver Frank Foster had another bus and driver to us in no time at all and we were on our way to tour Dublin. I was thoroughly impressed with our 9 day adventure from start to finish. All of the sites and stops were full of so much history and beauty. The hotels we stayed at and meals read more we were served were all high quality. Ireland is truly a beautiful country and I hope to return one day. I want to thank Frank Foster for his knowledge of the history of his country that he shared so eloquently. We all appreciated his sense of humour and his concern that we were all having a wonderful time. If all the drivers at CIE care like Frank, CIE is very fortunate. I was one happy customer.
Absolute value for money 1 , Australia, Apr 2017
Thank you CIE, absolute value for money. We learnt so much about so many different things. An absolute whirlwind tour which circumnavigated the entire country in 7 days. Thank you to Dave, our driver/guide; an absolute gentleman, with the Irish touch in his humour, oh and I think he has kissed the Blarney Stone more than once. A fantastic week was had read more by all. The history of Ireland and the fantastic nature of the Irish people made the tour even more enjoyable. The motels were fantastic and the mountains of food were amazing. Barring a couple of very minor hiccups it was a fantastic tour. We highly recommend it and we can't wait for our next tour with CIE.
Wonderful Irish Adventure 1 , Australia, Feb 2017
We just finished the Irish Adventure tour. What a wonderful time we had! We got a very intensive look at the country of Ireland. We learned a lot about Irish history and though we are not officially done yet, we can't say enough about how nice our accommodations have been, how good the food has been and how informative our tour guide was. Our tour guide, read more Frank Foster, was great. He was very knowledgeable and that made the trip even more enjoyable. We honestly can't pick out one thing that we liked the most. We liked it all! Would we use CIE Tours again? Most definitely, yes!
