Overview

Book online and enjoy exclusive savings on APT's 4 Day Gardens, Landscapes & Sights of Kangaroo Island in Spring. From private gardens to Seal Bay and Ligurian honey bees, this four-day escorted Botanica tour showcases the coastal wilderness of Kangaroo Island.

Itinerary

You'll be picked up from the Adelaide pre-tour hotel this morning and taken to the ferry terminal at Cape Jervis. After the short journey across to Penneshaw on Kangaroo Island, enjoy a visit to a special private garden followed by a guided tour and afternoon tea at Emu Ridge Eucalyptus Oil Distillery. Travel to your hotel, where you will enjoy a Welcome Dinner this evening. Stay Three Nights: Kangaroo Island Seaview Motel or similar (D)

Your day begins amid the beautiful floral displays of another of Kangaroo Island's private gardens. Continue to Island Beehive and learn how their organic honey is produced by the Ligurian bees there. First introduced to Kangaroo Island in the late 1900s, Ligurian bees were brought over from Bologna in Italy for early colonial settlers. We then pay a visit to nearby Emu Bay Lavender Farm, whose 51 acres contain an estimated 7,500 lavender plants. Today's final stop is Seal Bay, home to spectacular coastal views and the largest colony of Australian sea lions. (B/L)

This morning takes you to Parndana Community Garden. A project developed by celebrity gardener Sophie Thomson in response to the 2020 bushfires and a place that grows vegetables and community spirit in equal measure. Later, wander through the garden at the whimsical Frogs and Roses Nursery. Afterwards, we make our way to one last garden, which displays a unique collection of plants native to Kangaroo Island. Return to your hotel for dinner tonight (B/L/D)

After your final breakfast on Kangaroo Island, we'll transfer you back to the ferry terminal for your return trip to Cape Jervis. Your journey concludes on arrival in Adelaide by midday. (B)
