Historic Townships

At the mouth of the Tamar River near the Bass Strait you can discover George Town, one of Australia’s first settlements boasting a rich maritime history. Slightly further south across the river sits history of another kind, with the mining town of Beaconsfield home to the Beaconsfield Mine and Heritage Centre.
