This was such a wonderful 13 day Trafalgar tour of Switzerland and Austria in May 2023. The Alps were stunning, and the towns and villages we visited were beautiful, with so much history. I thought the optional tours that I did were well worth doing, even though they were pricey, but then Switzerland is a very expensive country to visit. Also, I think it's well worth spending a few days before or after the tour in Zurich, as there is so much to see there, and also a beautiful city, especially the Old Town and lake/river areas.

Our Trafalgar travel director, Dr Q, was absolutely fantastic, very friendly and knowledgeable, and always there to help. The coach driver was excellent, and a very safe, cautious driver, especially when he was navigating our coach around the many narrow hairpin bends in the spectacular Alps. The hotels were great and well located, which is important. Thank you again, Tracey and Georgie from Global Journeys, with your help in organising yet another wonderful holiday.

A wonderful tour through Austria and Switzerland and the Italian Lakes district. Nice bunch of people on the tour. Mostly Americans. Covered alot of ground. Michael the tour guide and Robbie the driver were great as was Isobel their well being director. Beautiful scenery

This trip left us with sweet memories of beautiful sights. 5 star Mt Cervin Palace in Zermatt was amazing. Have to go there again and enjoy the piano serenade while having something to drink. We were ...read more lucky we had only very minor glitches and yes Stephanie accommodated our needs and we got to Zurich airport on time despite of a 25 minutes bumper to bumper 8 km out of the airport.

Last year I travelled with Trafalgar and did Best of Italy Tour. We visited Lake Como and The Italian Lakes District. This gave me an insight into the stunning beauty of The Swiss Alps. It was very easy to connect ...read more with the city by 10 minute train ride. I was a solo traveller and felt very safe sightseeing day and into the night . I had 3 days on my own prior to the Tour commencing.

Our Tour Director Stephanie was very knowledgeable and lots of fun. We had a diverse group with ages ranging from 15 to 87. I signed up for all of The Optional Experiences that were offered. They were all excellent and enhanced an already fabulous Tour. There were so many highlights that it is hard to single any one out. I loved Zurich, Salzburg, Vienna and Lake Maggiore, Zermatt and Lucerne. Travelling on The Bernina Expess from St Moritz was also an amazing experience.
Our bus driver, Paul was a very safe and cautious driver. The roads that we travelled on at times were very narrow and hard for a coach to negotiate. Paul drove our Coach with amazing expertise.

Our accommodation was a mix of both modern and traditional hotels. All were well located and in safe areas. I would highly recommend this Tour and would also recommend The Optional Experiences. Thank you Georgie Walpole at Global Journeys for all of the planning you did on my behalf.

This was the most memorable holiday I have ever had. Our tour operator Emmo and driver Venci were great. A lot of thought has been put into this tour, covering a wide range of experiences. Anyone considering seeing Austria and Switzerland should seriously consider this trip with Trafalgar.

I had a great time in Switzerland. The tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and the coach driver experienced. The optional extras were a little expensive, but I enjoyed those I did. The scenery was superb, tour guide was excellent, friendly and knowledgeable. Our coach driver was exceptional, would recommend this trip to anyone but you need to be fit. Coach was very comfortable but would have liked to spend more time in places.

The tour was fantastic. The tour guide, Miranda, was incredibly well organized and provided the most amazing historical perspectives, wherever we were. The accommodation was brilliantly located, but the quality was lacking at several destinations - including Salzburg, St Moritz and Innsbruck. I enjoyed the pace of the tour, but quite a few older passengers found it too tiring, and some less abled needed to be excluded from some of the walking tours. The route was so incredibly picturesque, and the varied modes of transport (boats, cog railways, trains, horse and buggy etc) added extra enjoyment. The optional extras (I did all of them) were, in the main, fantastic. There was a Swiss dinner at the Stadtkeller in Lucerne which was pretty ordinary, but I really enjoyed all of the others. Staying at the Radisson Blu at Zurich Airport was a bonus at the start of the tour - so convenient to reach, after getting off the plane, and so easy with the rail network underneath. So, in summary - I had an absolute ball! I wouldn't hesitate to travel on my own again, and would definitely take another tour - having everything organized makes life very simple. You also know that the bulk of the tour has already been paid for, and only need to factor in lunches and spending money. Choosing the Switzerland & Austria trip also meant that we were in incredibly clean, safe countries. At no time did I feel unsafe or threatened, and didn't suffer any illness. It was all wonderful!

Well chosen well paced tour with a guide for which the word excellent does not do her justice. All seeing all knowing all organising all problems sorted. (I watched her in action in two languages at once). And she entertained us with stories, poetry and song (on one occasion). Very memorable with time to appreciate all the beautiful places.
