Action packed highlights of Spain
0 Al, SA, Australia, Jun 2025 I enjoyed the Spanish Wonder tour of Spain. There were many highlights packed into a few days, but all were memorable. Madrid, Toledo, Cordoba, Granada, Seville and Barcelona were magnificent, however, visiting in June it was warm to hot, and there was substantial walking involved if one wanted to see as much as possible. In Seville I walked 32 km, read more partly because I became lost in the evening. It helps if you speak Spanish. Our coach comprised 2/3 of those with Hispanic backgrounds living in the US so they had no problems in directions. I found an important new word: Aseos, which is toilet. This was not the word for toilet that was used when I was last there.
The only issues I had was that there were 52 passengers in a coach with 53 seats, and there was a lot of repetition of what the tour director and driver were to be paid as tips. Perhaps the US passengers accepted that, but I found it annoying. Overall, I would re-do that tour again anytime, but with a smaller group, if possible. Hannah from Global Journeys was excellent in organising the booking and supplying information about the tour plans. Beyond Satisfied! 1 Michael Williamson, USA, Jan 2022
Great itinerary. We were afraid we were going to feel rushed because of how much was packed into 9 days. However, the opposite was true. Because of the level of service provided, we felt relaxed the entire time. All of the travel and sightseeing details were taken care of, and all we had to do was sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride.
Great way to see Spain 2 Michael, Australia, Oct 2019
The Trafalgar Spanish Wonder tour was wonderful, exceeding expectations. It became obvious pretty quickly what an utterly professional operation this was. Everything was organised to the nth degree. Hotels were excellent and close to city centres, the specialist guides very informative and entertaining. Fellow travellers were great folk. What made this read more particular tour special though, as everyone seemed to agree, was the Tour Director. She was extraordinary. Very knowledgable, friendly, nothing too much trouble for her. Definitely would use both Trafalgar and Global Journeys again. 9 Day Spainish Wonder
2 Lang & Roland, NSW, Australia, Sep 2018 We wanted to see the different culture of this country as compared to that of the UK and Ireland. We were fascinated by the influence of the Moors on this country and the very breakout designs of the Spanish artists such as Antoni Gaudi. The Mosques transformed to Christian churches and the building designs of Gaudi were exceptional. The food was a read more whole new world to us which we enjoyed very much. Trafalgar Tour Director, Giuseppe Cillepi, was fun, and hard-working. He tried everything to please the group. We would recommend our friends to travel with Trafalgar in the future. Enjoyable holiday in southern Spain 3 Angeline, VIC, Australia, Sep 2017
Well organized tour run by very experienced operator resulting in a very enjoyable holiday for our family of four. Big thank you to Yvonne of Global Journeys for managing on our behalf the booking aspect of this tour to ensure we would have a memorable trip.
Spain Trip Lacking Substance 9 Belinda Scott, QLD, Australia, Dec 2016
Booking with Global Journeys was easy and professional. Trafalgar, when compared to Globus, lacks a lot of substance in their tours. I was disappointed with the lack of attention to detail, tours lacked substance, we had to wait in queues for tickets which should have been prearranged. Local guides were also lacking in intelligent knowledge and we were read more treated like idiots in some circumstances. We were late to one particular appointment not as a result of the group, but the tour guide. This resulted in our tour being cut short and we were not able to view what we had travelled to see because the sun had already set. The group should have been introduced to each other at the commencement of the tour so we knew a little about each other. A common & successful Globus initiative. Optional Excursions were nothing out of the box & should have been included as part of the main tour. Spanish Whirlwind! 2 Tony Georgeson, NSW, Australia, Sep 2016
This was a good tour but was really busy. We saw plenty of wonderful natural phenomena and man made masterpieces, but covered around 2500 km in a week - a lot of coach time and very little free time. The tour director was way up there with the best. She had every attribute required to make the tour as good as possible. She worked hard, put herself out read more on many occasions, had a great sense of humour, was much more patient than I could ever be and really knew her stuff. Coach was comfy with wifi. Seat rotation. Driver was excellent. Meals and accommodation were fine. No complaints. Trafalgar are a professional company and we always appreciate the smoothness of their tours. Spanish Wonder 2 Helen and Lloyd, VIC, Australia, Mar 2016
We were only Aussies and had a wonderful time with families and couples from South Africa, Singapore, Philippines, Canada and several states of USA.
I had an excellent experience 2 Tia, QLD, Australia, Aug 2015
I had an excellent experience - I enjoyed seeing Spain with an excellent group of people and guided by a professional and knowledgeable tour director, driver and local guides. All accommodation and breakfasts as well as included meals were of an excellent standard and the pace of the tour was organised well. The only thing I could mention and it isn't read more a huge issue was that by the end it really felt like we had visited too many churches and that some could have been added as optional experiences rather than inclusions. I am sure Spain has plenty to offer tourists and other sights could be visited instead of numerous churches/synagogues/mosques. Overall, this was my first tour and it was a very memorable and rewarding experience. A great experience 2 Bernard Doyle, Australia, May 2014
Overall a great trip. We knew it was a pretty fast paced tour and in doing so we visited some great locations. Kees (our tour guide) was excellent. Nothing was too much trouble for him. Thanks again for a great experience.
I would definitely do a similar tour again 1 Leasa Mayes, Australia, Mar 2014
I was nervous going on a Trafalgar trip as I had never been on a large tour group before. I was pleasantly surprised. Accommodation was excellent. I enjoyed the itinerary. David was extremely well organised and he managed the large group extremely well. I would definitely do a similar tour again.
Great value great tour 1 Doug Melvin & Aileen Croghan, Australia, Dec 2013
It had been many years since we were on a bus tour such as this and wow what a great experience, great guide, comfortable bus and very good hotels. Our fellow travellers were always on time and were comfortable with each other during the travels. Great value great tour.
Very good service and we were well taken care of 2 Chieok Kwok, Australia, Nov 2013
Service was generally very good and we were well taken care of by the tour director and the driver. The accommodation at a couple of the hotels was not as good as expected.
We have nothing to say but positive things about our tour 2 Bernie Roebuck, Australia, Sep 2013
We have nothing to say but positive things about our tour. We had a brilliant tour leader in Alberto and many of the local guides were also great - one lady Aurora in particular was dynamic. We met a lot of great people from different parts of the world and we will make the effort to stay in contact with many of them. Spain was just wonderful and the read more tour created lots of opportunities to see a lot and do a lot. The accommodation we had was brilliant everwhere. Thank you Trafalagar, thank you Alberto -your effort and care and knowledge was really appreciated. A very special tour that well exceeded our expectations 2 Martin & Patricia Coleman, Australia, Aug 2011
We are seasoned travellers who have always organised our travels based on good research where the car has been our main mode of travel. So we approached the Spanish Wonder Tour with a mixture of both apprehension and curiosity. It wasn't long, though, before we became aware of how memorable and special - and all for the right reasons - that this tour read more was going to be. Our well-informed, very personable, humorous and extremely helpful and professional guide was enough to ensure a very enjoyable and worthwhile tour. The added bonus, however, of quality local guides and a very pleasant and safe coach driver who provided such a comfortable drive made this a very special tour that certainly well exceeded our expectations. Everything about the tour from the accommodation and group dinners to the scheduled time in the centres visited was carefully organised to guarantee a successful tour for all involved. Well done, Trafalgar. Results 1-9 of 9
