Georgie Walpole, my consultant was amazing in all my communications - prompt, honest, upfront and courteous. Could not have asked for more. Travel Director, Jeff Allen of Trafalgar Tours was very knowledgeable, meticulous, friendly with a very good sense of humour. Made sure everyone on the tour knew the next day's schedule and made sure to count the read more number of people to ensure 'no one missing without info' before the coach left for another destination. The accommodation was 1st class however a bit away from city centre. But this is to keep the costs down. And also where is the time & energy left to enjoy CBD proximity? I will recommend Global Journeys to all of my friends. This is a mob one can rely on for quality at an affordable cost.
Excellent guide, thoroughly enjoyed the tour

I thoroughly enjoyed the Trafalgar Italian Scene tour. Our tour guide Antonino Cacace made it fun and interesting with his sense of humour and local knowledge. He memorized our names very quickly and made sure all the tour participants met and mixed together and enjoyed themselves.
We would not hesitate to do it again with Trafalgar 1

We were very happy and things went according to plan. The guide was very experience and the information given was always interesting and relevant to our visits. The group we travelled with were very friendly and courteous and punctual (the majority were Australians). We would not hesitate to do it again with Trafalgar.
Comfortable bus, good tour guide and, well planned tour. Accommodation was ok to very good- some of the hotels were clean and comfortable and others were very good. None of the hotels were terrible. Overall an excellent experience.
We would recommend highly

A great tour that we would recommend highly. The Tour Guide was superb and the accommodation first class. We saw a lot of Italy in the time frame which we would have struggled to see touring by ourselves.
So much better than what I expected!
Great tour! 1

Splendours of Italy
Peter & Jackie Eldred, Australia, Oct 2011
We were both very pleased with the way in which the tour was conducted and the places that we saw. We thought that we would be 'in' some of the places. ie in Rome city however it was possibly best that we were located outside of the cities. I just think that needs to be better understood prior to the tour and obviously the reasons why you would not read more want to stay in the heart of some of the bigger cities (apart from the additional costs). The tour guide and the bus driver were both very good. The tour guide obviously has to handle a lot of different personalities including ours, and she handled this really well. We felt that there were some people within the group that should not have been on this type of tour as they had real difficulty with walking. Once again the tour guide assisted them quite well but it did annoy ourselves as well as other members of the group as it was very well spelt out that walking would be required with the tour. The tour guides knowledge was exceptional, she provided us with a lot of info not only on the guided tours but as the bus was driving. Some of the meals at some of the hotels were very basic, the best meals were where we paid extra and they ended up being great nights. Personally we would pay a little more to get a better evening meal. A couple of the hotels were located in areas where you could not go out and shop or buy anything, nothing wrong with the hotels but you could not do much else in these locations. Might sound as though we are complaining a lot but this is not intended, as stated we really enjoyed the overall tour and the people that we met. It was a very good group. I found Yvonne to be extremely helpful with providing all details re the tour and also with a number of questions that I had. We got a response very quicky and it made the tour hassle free, thank you. We would definitely recommend using Global Journeys for anyone going on a tour, very professional.
I was the only solo traveller, and was made very welcome

I had a wonderful time, although very tired at the end as it seemed to be go, go, go. We had lots of free time, in some places it was too long in others too short. Unfortunately most of Europe was having an Indian Summer which caught all of us out as we had packed for cool to cold weather so my suggestion would be to suggest to any other travellers read more doing this tour at this time of the year packing for all kinds of conditions eg. 1/2 & 1/2. I met some wonderful people from a wide range of backgrounds and seeing that I was the only one travelling alone I was made very welcome and never left out of anything and they all looked after me even though I was quite capable of doing so myself, I just let them look after me. The bathrooms in a few of the hotels were a bit on the small side especially for those travelling as a couple but I was fine. The food was delicious and definitely too much (3 course meals each night). I have one complaint is that sometimes we arrived at our hotel late and only had time to put our carry-on luggage into our rooms before having to head to the restaurant for our dinner, some of us would have liked to have time to at least freshen up a little before having to go to dinner. I'm not sure what Trafalgar can do about that situation. Apart from the bathrooms, weather and arrivals at the hotels, as I said before i had a wonderful time and would recommend this tour.
Our entire bus journey was fantastic

The tour leader Annette Suttie was full of information on every place we called into and all the sites and extras were just great. The coach driver that we had was an Italian his name was Pino Bastiano and with him in charge we all just had such a relaxing journey as far as we didn't need to worry about his driving, he was just so good. Meet lovely read more people and we just had a great time. If I could have one small bitch it is that the hotels don't have tea and coffee facilities in Europe and also an iron.
I will start with the positives - the quality of the hotels were very good for the price we paid, as were the included meals and breakfasts. The included tours were also good and the local guides were excellent. The optional extras were quite expensive and cost us an extra EUR1400, however we did enjoy them all so can't really complain. We found the read more tour director to be quite condescending and seemed to treat the passengers like children - even Georgia (9 years old) commented at one point that she felt like we were being treated like babies. I understand that a lot of people who go on tours are first time travellers, however being treated this way didnt leave a good impression. The coach was extremely cramped down the back where we ended up for the majority of the trip (in fact Georgia spent 3 days on the back seat because the tour director seemed to play favourites with some people and wouldn't enforce a seat rotation with them). This makes us highly unlikely to recommend Trafalgar in the future.
So much time was saved not having to queue 1
Leeann & Ann Lenane, Australia, Sep 2011
The tour guide was beyond excellent! Annette was a wealth of information, had an excellent grasp of the history of each region we visited and spoke at least 6 languages. Annette did a great job at assisting the group to bond. I really appreciated the work that went on behind the scenes from the porters who dealt with our luggage to Annette ensuring read more that attractions were booked. It was a breeze not to have to line up at the gate for tickets to venues and attractions, so much time was saved not having to queue. Not having to handle ones own luggage saved so much time and energy. The bus driver's driving abilty was impeccable, there was not one momnet when I did not feel safe. Accommodation was very good, I felt supported the whole trip. Loved it and would highly recommend it to anyone!
This was my first coach tour and I was very impressed. I had heard good reports about Trafalgar Tours and all my expectations were met. Both the tour guide and the driver were extremely competent and took care of us really well. I enjoyed getting to know the other people on the tour and we had good fun together. I would highly recommend the Britain read more & Ireland Explorer as providing an excellent overview of these areas. Obviously in this timeframe there can be few in-depth experiences, but I feel my general education has been broadened, and my understanding of some of the issues facing the people of Britain and Ireland has increased significantly. Georgie at Global Journeys made the process of booking and preparing to go on the tour straightforward and pleasurable. I was a little anxious and sent several emails of enquiry, all of which were responded to very promptly with the information I had requested. I would strongly recommend Global Journeys (and Georgie) to other travellers.

Ray & Pat Mckay, Australia, Jul 2011
We thoroughly enjoyed all our travelling, the coaches were very comfortable, our tour guides were very caring & very informative. They went out of their way to see that my special diet was well catered for. Our drivers were such excellent drivers, so friendly & courteous. Our travelling companions made the trip very well worthwhile. We had so much fun. read more Thank you Georgie, for arranging it for us.
My fourth Trafalgar Tour and the best! 3
Peter & Susan Anderson, Australia, Jun 2011
Most hotels were excellent, however many of the locations were located in outlying areas. An example of this was Venice where the hotel was about 40km from Venice. This severely restricted our time in Venice. Breakfasts were all outstanding in both quality and quantity. Tour Manager (Barry) was extremely helpful, organised and we all benefited from read more his many years of travel experience. A small hiccup occurred at the commencement of the tour in London. We were advised by Trafalgar to arrive at 5.30am, which meant use of Night Buses. However we were required to just sit around for an hour without refreshments (too early for the hotel breakfast) until the coach and tour guide arrived. The tour departure time and location were not easy to obtain from the Trafalgar Desk at Heathrow Airport. Eventually, after a longish wait and a telephone call, we were advised the time and location. It would have been better if we could have been advised this before we arrived in London. Service by Tour Consultant was very good and we not only will have no hesitation in using Global Journeys again, and will recommend you to our friends.
The optional tours available were a great mix

I just got back from the my tour and here are my thoughts. I understand that arrving into Frankfurt is easier because of the airport, but if you could fly into Berlin and start the tour there & finish there you would get more time in Berlin or one of the other lovely cities that we visited. The hotels we stayed at were fine. I didn't mind them being read more a little out of town, as it gave me more of a chance to explore and get some exercise! The breakfasts included were great, as well as some of the dinners. Probaby spent a little too much time in the small towns enroute to the bigger ones. Having said that some of the smaller towns we stopped at e.g Brun, were hidden treasures. The optional tours available were a great mix. I didn't do many of them, but the ones I did do were good. Overall the tour was good value for money and gave me enough flexibility to do my own exploring.
Thank you for a trouble free tour

I would like to thank you for inviting me to voice my view on the 'European Experience' tour and thank you for your part in making the tour and the information you provided as trouble free as possible. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank the tour director IJ for his outstanding performance and his knowledge in relation to the countries read more we visited and his overall repo with all ages in the tour group. IJ's amazing linguistic skills in the countries we visited and the overall expertise in matters of history and geography made us feel that it was all well worth the cost. He and the driver together was a good and pleasant combination throughout the trip and we were well pleased. He had the same enthusiasm at the start of the journey as he did at the end of the journey which was remarkable. Once again thanks for the whole experience and please pass mine and my families gratitude to all concerned including yourself.
My husband and I have just come back from a 17 day Trafalgar tour around Europe. We have had such a fantastic time. So many highlights. Cruising down the Rhine in Germany seeing so many beautiful castles, hundreds of years old, going up the cog train to Mt Pilatus in Switzerland, having an incredible lunch at Burano on the islands outside Venice, seeing read more the amazing paintings done by Michelangelo in the Sistine Chapel in the Vatican City and not forgetting visiting the grand Colosseum in Rome, staying at a beautiful hotel at Sorrento with balcony views overlooking the Mediterranean, being taken by minibuses to the wonderful little town of Positano, who could forget the wonderful statue of David in Florence, going on a carousel at beautiful Nice and then finally Paris, visiting the Mona Lisa at the Louvre, cruising down the river Seine at night, going to the top of the Eiffel Tower and not forgetting the Can-Can girls at the Nouvelle Eve Cabaret. All in all we could have not picked a better tour to see the best of Europe in such a short span of time. We found all the hotels and meals we had very good and the bus we travelled in very comfortable. We were lucky to get a fantastic Italian driver called Francesco who really took care of his bus and was a terrific driver. Now we get to our incredible tour guide Steve Pearce. My husband and I cannot say enough about Stephen. Stephen is why our tour was so fabulous. If it wasn't for his professionalism, dedication, friendliness and hard work that he gave us for the whole 17 days plus just his easy going personality our tour wouldn't have been as wonderful. We thoroughly recommend him to anybody who is wanting to go on a Trafalgar tour. Of course none of this would have been possible if it wasn't for your tour consultant, Yvonne Brooks. I have never booked a holiday over the internet before and straight away through her professionalism, knowledge and friendliness I was put at ease. Over the last 6 months Yvonne has always answered my questions, always got back to me straight away either by phone or email and kept me advised of any changes or updates we needed to know. I have no hesitation in recommending Yvonne or Global Journeys to anybody who is wanting to travel to Europe on a coach tour.
Very professional in their approach

We had the most fantastic time touring UK with Cosmos on the 'British Panorama'. We drove though the very lovely green British country-side & visited many cathedrals, quaint little pubs, towns & historical places. It was a great experience. The Cosmos driver & the tour director were so friendly yet very professional in their approach. The second tour read more which was of the continent, 'European Cavalcade', a 17 day jam packed tour of 10 countries was also great. We saw & experienced so much in 17 days. We were able to beat the crowds in the mornings due to early starts hence first ones to get to many places & sites without having to stand in along queues. ie the Eifel Tower etc. Met some lovely people from all over the world. I would book my tours with you folks, Global Journeys, anytime, you are very professional & yet relaxed.
My wife and I loved Spain, you have to go to experience the magnificent scenery. history, culture and beautiful sunshine to appreciate it. Morocco, was extremely interesting but a bit too scary for my wife especially at the Medinas. We can describe our experience as 'we are glad we went', but probably 'will not return'. Portugal, saw just a fleeting read more glimpse but we thoroughly enjoyed the visit. We were very fortunate to have the best tour director that we have come across so far in our adventures, David Nadal, he possesses a wonderful passionate for his country (Spain) and worked tirelessly to satisfy all of the tour passengers. He made the tour very special. This was a wonderful tour. This has been our third trip with Relaxing/Global Journeys and our tour consultant on all occasions has been Georgie - very professional and extremely helpful.
