Costsaver trips include all hotels, breakfast daily and some evening meals as described in the trip itinerary, all restaurant gratuities, all hotel tips, charges and local taxes and sightseeing and activities as described in your itinerary. Any Choice Experiences listed in the itinerary are optional and can be booked and paid for while on your trip.
You'll see the Status of some departure dates shown as 'Definite Departure'. A definite departure has reached a minimum number of guests booked and that particular departure will therefore definitely run barring any extraordinary circumstances. The number of guests booked can fluctuate, so Costsaver can't show exact numbers. However, departures are regularly updated to show as definite. You can still go ahead and book a departure not yet marked as definite and in the scenario, that the departure doesn't meet the minimum number of guests you will be offered the best alternative dates or a full refund of any payment made. Your Global Journeys Travel Advisor will contact you if there are any changes to your departure - definite or otherwise - that you should be aware of.
To book a child on to a Costsaver tour, the child must be aged between 5 and 17 years at the time of travel.
Costsaver guests can book with confidence. You're free to change your travel plans up until your final payment is due. If you are within the cancellation period, additional charges will apply. All changes are subject to differences in rates and availability. This policy only applies to your Costsaver trip, airlines will have different policies and costs. Please note: Additional amendment fees may be incurred.
Triple room bookings are available, suitable for 2 adults and 1 child. When booking your trip, Costsaver define a child as somebody aged 17 or under. A triple room is not recommended for 3 adults, as the third bed is often a rollaway, which may not be comfortable for an adult.
Transfers between airports, hotels, railway stations and piers are only included as indicated on each itinerary. Transfers can be purchased for an additional cost in many destinations. There will be no refund for missed or unused transfers, unless our negligence caused you to miss or not use the transfer.
If, transfers aren't included we’ll be happy to arrange airport transfers for your booking. Please reach out to your Global Journeys Travel Advisor to arrange them.
Yes, you can book extra hotel nights through Costsaver. Many guests like to give themselves a little more time in a destination before or after their trip. Let us know and your Global Journeys Travel Advisor will arrange them in conjunction with Costsaver.
As a solo traveller you can choose between two room options. Solo Room Share: You will be matched with another guest of the same gender in a twin room. This option does not incur any solo supplement. This option is not available on trips in Asia, Africa and the Eastern Med. Solo Room: If you prefer more space, you can opt for a solo room. This option will incur a solo supplement. Solo rooms depend on availability.
The prices displayed on our trip pages are for twin rooms, based on two perople travelling. To check the solo price for a trip, select the dropdown next to the "Availability" heading, just above the departures and prices panel.
If you've travelled with Costosaver or one of the TTC Family of brands (including Trafalgar, Insight Vacations and Luxury Gold) before then you are automatically a member of the Global Tour Rewards program and entitled to a 5% discount off your next trip.
This discount will be applied by your travel advisor. Simply let us know when enquiring with us. You will be asked to provide details of your previous trips with Costsaver or another TTC brand, including the trip name and month and year of travel. If you don't have this information available then please let your advisor know.
We highly recommend guests purchase travel insurance prior to your trip. Your insurance should cover trip interruption, personal injury, medical expenses, and evacuation and repatriation cover including during pandemic events.
On most of our trips to Europe, North America and South America, you have the option to pre-pay gratuities for your Travel Director and Driver at the time of booking. Alternatively, if you would like to show your appreciation to the team, gratuities may also be paid during your trip. There is no option to pre-pay gratuities on Costsaver's Asia, Africa, Australia & New Zealand trips. If you would like to thank your Costsaver destination expert, this can be done on tour.
On European tours travelling with Costsaver entitles each guest to travel with one suitcase not exceeding 23kg (50lbs) in weight, with the dimensions of 76cm x 46cm x 25cm (30” x 18” x 10”). Carry-on/hand luggage is restricted to one piece per person, not exceeding 12”x11”x6” (30x28x14 cm) to fit under your coach seat or in the small overhead compartment.
We strongly recommend that you test the weight of your baggage prior to travel. You should be able to lift and comfortably transport it for short distances. Baggage allowances vary from airline to airline and you should check with your chosen carrier for details prior to travel.
On North & South America, Australia & New Zealand tours you can bring one suitcase per person with the dimensions of 76cm x 46cm x 25cm (30” x 18” x 10”) and weight not exceeding 23 kg (50 lbs) due to the limited space on the coach. You can also bring one piece of hand luggage, provided it is small enough to take on the coach and does not have telescopic handles.
For Africa & Asia tours, East Africa safari vehicles cannot accommodate the regular luggage dimensions and weights listed above. We kindly ask our guests to travel with a soft-sided bag or medium-sized suitcase. For internal flights within Costsaver Asia tours, there is generally a 20kg luggage allowance.

Europe, North & South America, Australia & New Zealand Tours
We take great pride in having the finest fleet of fuel-efficient, fully air-conditioned coaches – all with reclining seats and on-board restrooms. The coach windows have a high vantage point perfect to take in all the glorious scenery, whether it’s a grand rural landscape or an urban city centre. We also have onboard Wi-Fi. Please note, the coach WiFi uses the 3G mobile network, which means the connection can be slower than standard broadband.
Africa & Asia Tours
We're proud to offer luxury air-conditioned coaches with Wi-Fi in most countries. Africa and Asia tour vehicles do not have Wi-Fi on board. On Asia tours, there are no onboard restrooms.
How much coach travel there is depends on the itinerary but we rarely spend longer than a couple of hours on the coach without a photo stop or visit. Some journeys are much shorter.
To ensure fairness and to enhance your coach experience Costsaver practices a daily seat rotation system, which your Travel Director will facilitate. This enables guests to enjoy the panoramic views from a different seat and provides opportunities to get to know your fellow travellers and make new friends each day.
All our guests will have access to the personal service of a dedicated and knowledgeable Travel Director. They will be on hand to help guide & support you throughout your trip and are able to offer a true insider’s perspective of each destination.
Our Travel Directors come from a variety of backgrounds but they all share a passion for travel and their home countries. These experienced professionals show you what the guidebooks can’t – a true insider’s perspective of each destination. Each Travel Director has been through a bespoke training program and many have at least five years’ experience under their belt. On our East Africa and Namibia tours, you will be accompanied by the Costsaver Driver Guide, who is both a driver and a destination expert.
Costsaver offers unbeatable value, and to offer a wonderful experience at a great price – we cover all the essentials, while added services such as porterage are not included. Your Travel Director and Driver will help unload and load luggage on and off the coach, but it is your responsibility to take your luggage from the coach to and from your room.
The number of guests on tour with you can vary depending on where your tour is going:
Costsaver hotels are handpicked to ensure they meet our high standards. We select our hotels for their quality, impeccable service and comfort, and the majority of them have air-conditioning. A few hotels in the northern Alps of Europe do not have air conditioning due to the colder climate.
Yes, hotels can change from those listed on the website or in your travel documents. This might be due to a variety of reasons and is often out of Costsaver's control. If this does happen, we will ensure the new hotel is in a similar location and meets our high standards.
Yes. At Costsaver we take care of the essentials and you tailor the rest. Each trip includes the must-see sights plus plenty of free time to fill with whatever you choose. With over 550 Choice Experiences across our tours, there's something for everyone.
If you would like to exclude yourself from an included experience please ensure you speak with your Travel Director, so they are aware of your plans. They will make sure you are aware of any necessary times or meeting points. Please note we cannot provide any compensation or refunds, if you decide to not take part in an included activity or meal.

Our itineraries are a well-balanced mix of walking and enjoying sites from the comfort of your coach. The activity level and amount of walking can vary, so it is important that you bring adequate footwear to ensure your comfort and safety. When walking there can be some uneven terrain or times when more walking is required than others.
To enable you to personalise your Costsaver experience, you will find a number of Choice Experiences designed to complement the itinerary. These are designed to offer a deeper insight into the culture and character of the areas to be visited and provide some wonderful highlights to your travels. These are designed to let you experience more of what interests you and to get the most from your holiday without replacing or overlapping with anything included in an itinerary.
The majority of Choice Experiences will be offered to you by your Travel Director at the beginning of your trip. Our Choice Experiences cannot be pre-booked. Some may be subject to change, depending on the time you are travelling or local circumstances including weather and days of the week. Further information will be provided by your Travel Director.
Complimentary Wi-Fi service is available in the rooms and public areas of most accommodation. In many countries complimentary Wi-Fi is also provided on-board the motorcoaches, however this is not available in all locations. The Wi-Fi on the motorcoaches uses the mobile phone network and as a result the connection will be slower than standard broadband and at times may not be available. Audio and Video streaming is not available using motorcoach Wi-Fi.
Please note that it may not be available on train trips, cruises, safari lodges, tented camps or when the main motorcoach is not being used, such as on transfer motorcoaches and other local services.
