Enjoyed every minute of our holiday 1 Alan & Sheila Roberts, WA, Australia, Aug 2015
The coach tour guide was disappointing, short on information and had to be asked for it. Optional Excursions offered were good but unfortunately for variety of reasons 3 out of 4 were cancelled on us. The Coach driver was excellent as was the Train guide/chef. Holland America seems to have dropped it's standards and were not up to our last cruise with read more them in 2011. Paying for water and coffee seemed a bit over the top as was the cost of WIFI connection. Had already made a tentative booking with them for next year which we are reviewing. Having said that, and despite a few negatives we enjoyed every minute of our holiday. Thank you for all of your help Emily. Excellent package especially the cruise 1 Douglas & Joan, TAS, Australia, Aug 2015
Excellent package especially the cruise. Enjoyed the Rocky Mountaineer, beautiful scenery. The coach part of the tour was good but only having one night stops tended to be rushed as we arrived around 5.00pm and departed around 08.00am so not seeing much of the town. The two nights we had at Banff and Victoria gave us a whole day to sightsee which was read more excellent. Overall very enjoyable. One of the best tour holidays we have ever experienced 1 Ray & Irena Dickinson, ACT, Australia, Aug 2015
One of the best tour holidays we have ever experienced. Both the tour guide, Jana and coach driver, John were thoroughly professional, helpful and really gave all of us on the tour the utmost attention. Both were eager to provide excellent background history on places visited and their input made the tour that much more enjoyable. We would both do read more this trip again if there was a guarantee of both these people being available. The only minor issue related to the tour pace and it is mentioned more as a suggestion for improvement rather than criticism. Most people we spoke to on the tour agreed that it would have been far more relaxing if the coach tour part of the journey could have included say two night stops at each location to allow for more exploring and relaxation at each stop. Most people we spoke to would be happy to pay any additional costs. Great holiday and everything went as planned 1 Roseanne & Alan Inkson, TAS, Australia, Jul 2015
We had a great holiday and everything went as planned. Just a couple of points we would like to make - the coach was not equipped with WiFi or a toilet. I think both are essential. Secondly no breakfast included in most hotels.
A wonderful experience at an affordable rate 1 Keith & Susan, QLD, Australia, Jun 2015
The holiday was very exciting and well run. We would totally recommend it and nearly all the accommodation was extremely good and of a very high standard. Our tour director and tour guides were very competent and knowledgeable and our driver was very careful and calm. The Volendam was comfortable and the food was good .We really feel that this holiday read more offered a wonderful experience at an affordable rate. Right from the word go, it all went well 4 Eileen & Pat , NSW, Australia, Jun 2015
Thank you for arranging our trip, it was lovely. Right from the word go it all went well. The accommodation was great, comfy beds, and quite large clean rooms. Vancouver was a lovely city with flowering trees and magnificent flowering hanging baskets everywhere. Plenty to see and do.
The Rocky Mountaineer was great, good seats, great viewing read more and great meals. Our bus guide was very informative with a good sense of humour. The scenery was magnificent throughout, hard to surpass. The towns we stayed were pretty with lots to see and do. Our Alaskan cruise was also lovely with comfortable cabin (great we had the balcony), meals were top class and no rush or hurrying, it was totally relaxing. The excursions were great, though would recommend the whale tour (which we didn't take) they saw about 16 whales. All up it was a very relaxing tour, we would certainly recommend it to anyone wanting beautiful scenery and a relaxing time. Thanks again. A must do for everybody 5 Early Retiree Travellers, VIC, Australia, Jun 2015
A must do for everybody, as we've travelled quite a bit over the last 25 years. Luckily for us we had perfect weather for June (16c to 25c on average, but Kamloops & Vancouver usually warm), although a bit warmer than expected in most places (most of the time OK in shorts/jeans & shirts). Our tour guide Vedrana and driver Kong were both exceptional. read more We also had a great bunch of people in the tour group, ranging ages from 40 thru 75. The scenery is spectacular (like you see on the TV ads, or even better in real life), with far too many highlights to name. The Rocky Mountaineer was a fantastic 2 days (Silver Leaf was excellent). Some obvious must do, is Whistler Peak-to-Peak Gondola, socialise with your tour group, as there is great food and good times awaiting. Just be mindful that there are early morning starts (on the road by 7/7:15am), and a couple of times where your luggage goes out the night before, so have a backpack handy.
Ideally ensure you're well rested prior to the trip, and doing the Alaska Inside Passage at the end also allows you to catch up on rest. General feedback that they are addressing is 2 of the hotels are not up to scratch, and a couple of them had diy laundry facilities as did the Ship - handy to know. The Ships typically being USA, the food is orientated towards that demographic, typically salty & very sweet, but you can steer clear of those with other options. Ensure you have your Visas all done for both Canada & USA - allow a lot of extra time before you book/leave if you're not on the ESTA waiver! We would be more than happy to do a similar trip again in a couple of years, maybe in Autumn would be great (and ride a Harley on the Icelands Parkway). Get out and enjoy what the world has on offer! Very satisfied with the trip 1 Allan Gray, QLD, Australia, May 2015
Name tags would have been good just to make meeting and remembering names a bit easier. Overall Penny and I were very satisfied with the trip. Going into Goldleaf on the Rocky Mountaineer made all the difference and the outside cabin on the Alaskan cruise was another good choice. Elaine our tour guide was very good, a wealth of knowledge with a rather read more large task of looking after a huge diversification of people. A bit more leg room on the coach would have been nice but overall it was ok. Would have loved to have spent longer in each place 1 Helen, Janice & Merilyn, ACT, Australia, May 2015
My lower comment for tour pace is I would have loved to have spent longer in each place. I realise that would make it much more expensive. For example I didn't see Banff when it wasn't raining.
Really good value for money and well paced 1 Ian & Sue, QLD, Australia, May 2015
This tour is really good value for money. It includes all the iconic locations and activities. It is well paced with excellent accommodation and tour directors.
Couldn't have wished for a better tour 1 Geoff Maher, QLD, Australia, May 2015
Absolutely loved the tour. Our guide Doug and bus driver Nelson provided outstanding service. Couldn't have wished for a better tour and brilliant value for money. I will definitely travel with Cosmos again.
Absolutely brilliant in all respects 1 Vicki, QLD, Australia, May 2015
This tour was better than we even expected, it was absolutely brilliant in all respects. We LOVED the Rocky Mountaineer, it was the highlight - an expensive addition but so worth it. Doug was our tour guide - the perfect host who knew just how much information to share and also have quiet times on the bus. Doug alone was the key to an outstanding experience, read more he is a genuine caring person - a true professional. Tour pace was perfect, the places we visited and the views were amazing. We saw a total of 15 bears in the wild in Canada as well as other animals. Accommodation was generally excellent, they need to improve the Banff hotel though as it was of a poor standard and not up to scratch. Global Journeys were excellent as was Cosmos - we wholeheartedly recommend this tour and booking company. We will use both these companies for future travel. We were genuinely surprised at the above standard and class of this tour given the budget price compared to similar tours and we do travel a lot. Thanks everyone! Would recommend this tour to anybody 1 Deborah & Bradley, QLD, Australia, May 2015
Would recommend this tour to anybody. We had two coaches with our tour and the one we were on was excellent, great bus driver who did his best to stop and show us the wildlife when it was seen from the bus. Our guide was brilliant and the group was a good mix of people with friendships made. Would certainly travel again with Cosmos and do Canada and Alaska again also.
Totally impressed with the whole tour 1 Wayne Jenkins, Australia, Aug 2014
As you can see by my ratings I was totally impressed with the whole tour, the only thing I would change is that maybe we spend 1 less night in Vancouver and 1 extra night in Victoria. Our guide Doug and driver Nelson were first rate, Doug was very informative and helpful in every aspect and Nelsons driving was very safe. I certainly will look at booking read more with Global Journeys again in the future. Had everything we expected and more 1 Nora Gray, Australia, Aug 2014
I would recommend this tour it had everything we expected and more, must travel goldleaf on train, fantastic. Michelle was very helpful especially after we had to change our travel dates. I will certainly use Global Journeys again.
Excellent value and tour guide 1 Don, Australia, Aug 2014
The tour was excellent value, and our tour guide Doug was extremely efficient and just a very good bloke. Nothing was to much trouble for him to help you enjoy your holiday. The accommodation was very good to excellent with the exception of the Sandman in Vancouver which was not up to standard. Georgie at Global Journeys handled our booking very well read more and was always quick to reply to any questions I might have emailed her. All in all a wonderful holiday with everything going like clockwork. I would not hesitate to use Global Journeys again. We were very happy with the tour 3 Wendy Law, Australia, Aug 2014
We were very happy with the tour, on the whole, the train trip was sensational, and on the coach both the Tour Director and driver went above and beyond to make our tour happy, fun filled and filled it with so much information about the places we went to. The side tours were very good, especially the trip to the Taku Glacier Lodge, it was exceptional read more and we will treasure the memories. The only disappointment was that, try as they might, there were no bears to be seen except on a tour, but my daughter was able to secure a spot on one which guaranteed seeing them and she did. Several of our fellow travellers wanted to get onto this tour as well, in Ketchikan, but there were no further places. I recommend booking before leaving Australia. We enjoyed all the accommodation and our cabins on the ship were very satisfactory. Our main baggage was taken care of all through the tour and was there waiting for us in our room (cabin) on arrival. The amount of tipping required was a bit of a shock to us, averaging 15% which people should be aware of before they go. Other than that we were completely happy and would highly recommend it to anyone wishing to travel to Canada/Alaska on a reasonable budget. We are very happy with Globus/Cosmos and would definitely use them again if we travel in the future. Everything about the tour was a awesome 1 Jenny & Rick , Australia, Aug 2014
We did a 19 day coach, rocky mountaineer and Alaska cruise tour called the Canadian Masterpiece. It was fantastic, we had a great experience, everything about the tour was a awesome. The tour director was John and he was very knowledgeable about Canada. The hotel accommodations were all in good locations. A big thank you to Michelle at Global Journeys read more for organising everything for us, even when we changed our minds she was great to deal with thanks Michelle! I would definitely book another tour with you. Overall the holiday experience was very good 1 Valda McAuliffe, Australia, Aug 2014
We and our fellow travellers going Redleaf class on the Rocky Mountaineer had a bad experience on the first day when the air conditioning wouldn't work in the carriage assigned to us. We were transported to Kamloops by motorcoach. This did not go down too well with most of the passengers. The claim was that there should have been at least one spare read more carriage set aside for such an incident. The Rocky Mountaineer did make monetary compensation. The air conditioning in the carriage was fixed for the second day of the journey to Banff. Apart from this hiccup the rest of the holiday experience was very good. We had a great travel director and a good group to travel with. We would really recommend this trip 1 David Rolfe, Australia, Jul 2014
The Canadian Rockie Mountaineer Train trip was the highlight of the trip, excellent service, food and knowledge of the Canadian history. The coach journey was also excellent, John our tour guide was amazing, very informative and very helpful, a lovely man, we had a great time even though many of us came down with a flu bug. The ocean cruise on the inside read more passage was good also but I think by two weeks we were ready to come home. On the whole however we would really recommend this trip. Results 61-80 of 97
