Wonderful trip through Central and Eastern Europe 8 , NSW, Australia, Dec 2017
Very hard to fault, as the whole tour was so much better than we could have hoped for. The tour director, Davor provided all members of our group with endless information and commentary on all of the wonderful sights of Central Europe, as well as informative history on each of the towns and cities, palaces, churches, etc. Also very thankful for the ...read more amount of free time provided with each excursion, which we weren't expecting. Very hard to list all of our highlights as there were so many to choose from, although would have to say the stop at the ski resort in Slovakia was unforgettable as it was the first time we had seen snow. The accommodation provided was also very good in each city we stayed in.

The only disappointment for us was the trip to Auschwitz in Poland, as this was one of the main reasons we chose this particular tour. We arrived in the morning, and were split into 2 groups, each with a tour guide. Our group was then rapidly taken through the camp, trying to push through each exhibit and building, only given a very brief description of its historical significance, and then not having time to look at and fully absorb the experience of actually being in Auschwitz Concentration Camp. There was quite a few areas that we didn't even see, due to the fact that we had to stick to a strict time schedule as there was another excursion to the salt mines in the afternoon.

Overall, we really enjoyed the experience, and would not hesitate to use Cosmos and Global Journeys again for future holidays.
Worry Free 1 , QLD, Australia, Dec 2017
My hubby tagged along this time and he loved all the history especially WWI & WW11. All we had to do was turn up on time and all was done...we sat back and enjoyed this lovely tour.
Great trip through Central Europe 2 , QLD, Australia, Dec 2017
It was a diverse group on this tour which made it enjoyable and interesting. Loved the places visited, highlight would have been arriving in Frankfurt to snow.
Unforgettable trip of Central Europe   4 , NSW, Australia, Oct 2017
Looking back I would say that this was a great trip. Best part was our tour director who was very well organised, caring, knowledgeable and very helpful. She added great value in picking up optionals and suggesting best places to visit in various towns.

By and large all cities and spots - from Berlin to Prague - were unique in their own ways. Berlin ...read more with Lindon trees, Warsaw with sap much of history, an emotional tour to Auschwitz, illuminated river Cruz in Budapest, beautiful Prague, Vienna and Munich. But the city of Kraków was the best part for me and my wife. We loved this city and would call it the highlight of our trip. Romantic road from Munich to Frankfurt was also great.

Accommodation, at most of the places was absolutely great but can be better at few places like in Warsaw and Munich. It was a well paced tour, an extra day in Vienna would have been better.

Overall the tour was very satisfactory.we covered a lot without worrying for anything. Group of 40 people from various parts of world was wonderful. Could not have asked for better. Will definitely do another tour with Global journeys.
Very good experience of the best cities in central Europe 2 , QLD, Australia, Oct 2017
Very good tour guide who provided a comprehensive overview of the countries visited with humour thrown in. The cities visited were beautiful and the time provided to explore was adequate to see most sights. The only downside was there were big distances to travel each day.
Great trip. 1 , QLD, Australia, Sep 2017
Tour guide and Coach driver excellent,Hotels pretty good just could have been a little closer to city centers (eg about 15 to 20 minute walk) instead of 20 taxi ride. The only hotel we had an issue with was Kavalier in Wien. The room we had was not cleaned properly dust round the skirtings and carpets worn through. The rest of the hotels were good over ...read more all trip we thought was excellent would do another one the Cosmos it was well run.
Wonderful trip 3 , NSW, Australia, Sep 2017
The Central Europe tour was a great and wonderful experience. All the cities visited were beautiful amazing and interesting, so full of history which some melt our heart. Our favourite were Danube river cruise and the Salt Mine in Krakow. Auschwitz visit was a truly haunting experience. We thought we were prepared for what we were going to see and ...read more feel because of how much we had heard about Auschwitz. But nothing can really prepare you for visiting Auschwitz. This is not to be missed.

Our tour director Bea Ungor was excellent, it wasn’t easy to handle 47 people with different wants and needs. She was very patient, always smiling and helpful. Our coach driver Giovanni was wonderful and very safe driver. He kept coach very clean and made us comfortable on the long days driving between cities and countries. All local tour guides were excellent too. The tour was fast paced to cover all those cities in the time allocated.

Hotel accommodations were fairly good, comfortable to stay though some were far from the city. Breakfasts were excellent and included dinners were very good too. We had fun together in the group on our trip specially when we went to Oktoberfest in Munich. We got lucky that Oktoberfest fell exactly in our tour dates in Munich. It was an awesome experience to be in there. We did all the optional excursions, and they were worth doing!

This is our 1st time we have booked with Global Journeys and our 2nd Cosmos tour. Our experience was beyond our expectations and we would book and travel with them again. Yvonne at Global Journeys was excellent, very helpful and always replied too our emails promptly. I would not hesitate to recommend to my friends.
Amazing Coach Tour 1 , New Zealand, Sep 2017
Firstly Leanne at Global Journeys was great to deal with, she dealt with my questions quickly and patiently!

Our tour director, Zsofia, was the best, she couldn't have had a lovelier person who was unbelievably patient with all of us, always happy and helpful. She went out of her way to make sure we received a lot of interesting information and ...read more made the most of our trip. Giovanni was a driver with talent - the way he maneuvered our huge coach but at the same time made us feel safe and comfortable.

We had an awesome group of people on our trip... had a lot of fun together on a tour that met our expectations and more. Was sad to say goodbye! We did all the optional excursions, and they were worth doing! Would definitely recommend Cosmos tours and will definitely be going on one again!
Fascinating trip through beautiful cities of Central Europe   5 , NSW, Australia, Aug 2017
The Central Europe tour was wonderful and all the cities visited were beautiful, interesting, so full of history and difficult to pick a favourite - would love to see them all again! Our tour guide Tina was great as was our coach driver Francesco and the coach was very clean and comfortable - needed to be on the long days driving between cities! The ...read more tour pace was very hectic to cover the large territory in the time allocated. Arrival into most cities was late afternoon, followed by early departures so realistically we only had a day at best - with shorter stays in Vienna and Munich! Perhaps Cosmos should cut Vienna or Munich from the itinerary as the stays in both are very short and hotels so far out of the city it is difficult for passengers to maximise the limited time available in both cities. The hotels in both Vienna & Munich should be changed as really out of the way, limited facilities and very little nearby - Vienna hotel is particularly bad!

Why do Cosmos start the tour in one hotel in Frankfurt and end in another? The hotel in Frankfurt at start of tour was good, well located within easy access to the city, train station and airport, with restaurants & shopping nearby. However hotel at end of tour was so far out of town and twice the distance from the airport and made it more difficult (and expensive) for passengers making onward connections - a let down at the end of the tour!

This is the 3rd time I have booked with Global Journeys and 3rd Cosmos tour I have been on and it lived up to expectations (except hotels as mentioned above) and I would travel with them again. Jemma at Global Journeys was helpful and I would not hesitate to recommend to my friends.
Amazing Holiday   0 , VIC, Australia, Jul 2017
We had an amazing experience on this our back to back tour. Once again we cannot fault the efficiency of our agent Jemma Rosen at Global Journeys, she was very pleasant and prompt with our booking. We would highly recommend Jemma and Global Journeys to everyone. Lovely Central Europe Holiday 0 , NSW, Australia, Jul 2017
It was such a good way to see many cities & countries in a short time. The drivers, Giovanni and his dad, were excellent. Tour director, Orsi, was pleasant and informative. Very well organised tour. We were lucky to be in a small group and we had a brand new coach. What a bonus! Most of hotels were good, though they were quite far away from centre of ...read more the city (except for Abba Hotel in Berlin). My highlights of the trip must be Poland and Hungary. Munich is very vibrant. The optional Medieval Tour in Prague was a let down for me. Overall, it was a lovely trip.
14 Day Tour of Central Europe 3 , New Zealand, May 2017
This was my 5th tour with Cosmos, previous tours were in 1987 and 2001. They are fairly hectic at times especially if you go on the optional tours in the evening and there is an early start the next morning. I would highly recommend the optional evening tours as it is a really good way to mix with your fellow group members especially at the folklore ...read more and dinner evenings. My favourite is the Ziko's grill dinner in Berlin, this is the second or third time I have been there and it is a great fun evening with eating, drinking, singing and dancing. We did not want to leave when it was time to board the coach for the return trip to our hotel and on the coach the singing continued with the CD's played by our tour guide Anita. All the folklore and dinner evenings ended with everyone singing on the coach during the trip back to our hotel.

I found all the meals including breakfast and dinner (when provided) to be very good although some of the hotels were really busy at breakfast time with all the guests that were staying there. Our tour group consisted of people from the United States, Canada, England, Scotland, Ireland, India, the Philippines, Australia, New Zealand, Hungary (the tour guide) and Italy (the tour driver), so it was a good mix I think. The age range was in the 50's and 60's bracket and we all mixed well together and were one big happy family at the end of the tour and very sorry to go our separate ways.
Overall, it was quite good. 0 , NSW, Australia, May 2017
Overall, it was quite good, rating 8/10 except the mix up re: transfer from Frankfurt airport to hotel. and at one hotel, the aircon not working. I would recommend Cosmos to my friends, good value for money. We will book our next Cosmos holiday with Global Journeys.
Central Europe 2 , SA, Australia, Apr 2017
This is a fantastic tour with so much to see. The included Auschwitz Concentration Camp tour was most welcome; a very important reminder! The optional Wieliczka Salt Mines in Krakow was a amazing experience. Tunde, our tour director, was knowledgeable and helpful. Francesco was a skillful and safe driver. Accommodation and food (included breakfast ...read more and dinner) were of good quality. I enjoyed this tour thoroughly and would highly recommend it.
Great Central Europe Trip 1 , NSW, Australia, Sep 2016
This was a great tour of Central Europe with an excellent guide and local guides. I thought it was amazing what we saw and covered in the time. There was a Globus Tour running roughly parallel with a higher rating of hotels (and higher price) but I was very happy with the ones we had. There were several optional tours not included so budget for them ...read more if you want to include them.
Value for money 0 , VIC, Australia, Aug 2016

Cosmos Took Care of Everything 3 , WA, Australia, Aug 2016
I was very happy with the tour through central Europe. Everything was taken care off and I didn't have any real issues to deal with or distract me. If there was a problem it was resolved immediately, such as when there wasn't a separate bed in the room with my twin share arrangement. On both occasions I received a separate room for the same price! ...read more The group was large yet was mostly punctual, with no interpersonal or behavioral issues that anyone noticed. Both the included and optional excursions generally conformed to the details provided in the brochure. However, two tours did deviate from the script somewhat. The optional Schonbrunn Palace tour was shorter and the included Budapest tour omitted the viewing of three attractions.

Both the Tour Director and primary driver were enthusiastic and helpful. On occasions the Tour Director supplied us with photocopied maps of major cities, which was most helpful. The driver handled the vehicle well and was anxious to arrive at destinations on time. All the hotels met or exceeded expectations. The facilities, comfort and ambience were satisfactory or pleasing. The locations were great being close to transport and/or supermarkets. Breakfasts were fantastic and the dinners okay. I thought all the local tour guides did a fine job. They knew their assigned area and taught the history well. There were plenty of rest stops going from destination to destination. Overall, I am confident with Cosmos being able to deliver on another tour and plan to do so in the near future.
Fantastic Central Europe with Cosmos 2 , New Zealand, Jul 2016
Have wanted to do this trip for a long time as I have always been interested in the history of the 2nd World War, Nazi occupation, the Holocaust, Soviet occupation and the Cold War. This trip filled in all the gaps and although some horrific details were made even clearer, the recovery and reconstruction was amazing to see. We had a fantastic tour guide ...read more (Anita) and superb bus driver (Csaba), the group a great mix of ages and occupations, every one was on time and there were no moaners! There were several people travelling on their own but everyone friendly and mixed well. It is a beautiful part of the world and the scenery lovely. Recommend the optional extras especially the night time cruise on the Danube in Budapest! Thanks to Leanne from Global Journeys for all the booking assistance.
Fantastic tour of Central Europe 2 , VIC, Australia, Jun 2016
Firstly thanks Michelle for your help in booking our tour of Central Europe with Cosmos. We chose the European summer, which was fantastic, I think we only had one day of drizzle during our tour; the weather was great. We could not fault the Tour Director or driver, both very professional and friendly. The tour was as we expected very busy, but we had ...read more sufficient breaks from the coach and a fair bit of free time in most cities to explore. Probably the only downside was a couple of the guides in two cities, they weren't great. We have however left feedback and would hope they are replaced. This did not detract from the overall tour which combined interesting history, a fair amount of free time to explore, shop etc , some lovely accommodation and lots of laughs with fellow travellers. Just to see and experience some of the history and sites of this region was exhilarating. Some of the highlights would be Berlin, Poland ( especially the salt mines), Warsaw, Krakow, Prague, Rothenberg. As usual with a group of people of 40 odd you don't gel with some, but overall very good and we got to meet some very good friends. Overall a very good tour which we will remember for the rest of our lives.
Whirlwind Trip through 8 Cities 1 , ACT, Australia, May 2016
I thoroughly enjoyed this tour. The group was a mix of ages and nationalities and all got along well. We visited so many cities and all were beautiful. I choose this tour because except for Vienna I had not been to any of the other places and I particularly loved Budapest. The Illuminations cruise on the Danube was a highlight for me.
