Fabulous UK holiday 3 , NSW, Australia, Jun 2019
What a great holiday it was a real whirlwind of fabulous sights and experiences. Scotland is absolutely awesome and a lovely cruise on Loch Lomond was perfectly relaxing, so surreal.

People are lovely and the landscape perfectly green... amazing! Really enjoyed Cornwall and Dartmoor and Looe and lots lots more. One suggestion would be to spend less read more time in Stratford-upon-Avon and more time in Oxford and York.

Our group was a good mix of nationalities and personalities and the tour manager really knowledgeable, there wasn't anything he didn't explain and relate to us perfectly. Kevin our driver was very friendly and obliging and a great driver. I think we were over the coach after 20 days on it but the commentary and scenery on the way helped to make it more comfortable.

Accommodation was perfect, comfortable beds, large rooms and bathrooms and hotel meals were great. Overall a fantastic holiday.
UK & Ireland September 2018 5 , VIC, Australia, Sep 2018
I recently returned from a Globus UK & Ireland trip. There were 44 on the tour mostly Americans, 6 Canadians, 2 New Zealanders & 4 from Australia. The coach was very nice & roomy & we had seat rotation every day. Our Tour Director was excellent as well as our driver. Some of those narrow roads, I just closed my eyes & was thankful I wasn't driving. read more Our accommodation was very good. They all used doonas, which I find too hot & also all hotels only provided one luggage rack. The included meals were nice apart from the hotels in Warwick & York. The optional tours were excellent - definitely recommend The Royal Yacht Britannia, Taylor's Irish night & the Medieval Banquet at Knappogue Castle. We only had one day of drizzle but most days were coolish. I would definitely travel on another Globus tour, value for money, excellent inclusions. This is my third trip I have booked through Global Journeys, Georgie & Hannah did a great job.
Best of the British Isles 4 , QLD, Australia, Aug 2018
This was our second Globus tour and again it didn’t disappoint. We would use Globus again. One of the optionals was disappointing. Over 20 days it would be nice to have at least one more two night stop. Most of the accommodation was satisfactory.
The Best of the British Isles 2 , NSW, Australia, Jun 2018
Everything was good right from the time we arrived at our hotel. The tour director and driver of the bus were excellent. All excursions were enjoyable and the guides were great. The food and accommodation were good. The mix of fellow tourists were good and we all got on well.
The title correctly describes the tour 6 , QLD, Australia, Aug 2017
It was a great tour, very long days and tiring with some early get ups. Shorter days and a bit more free time could help so that people don't get as tired. The cost of laundry at the hotels is too expensive, it would have worked out cheaper to but new underwear, etc, than have them sent out to the laundry, not that we had enough time at most places read more to have it done. Hotel launderette facilities would help. The coaches used could have more space between the seats to make it more comfortable for tall passengers, which a few of us on this tour were.
Recommend Globus to anyone interested in a British Isles tour 1 , Australia, Jun 2014
We had a great time, saw lots. Globus experience excellent as was Georgie at Global Journeys for booking our extra nights' accommodation and the whole tour. Would recommend Globus to anyone interested in doing a British Isles tour.
I had a very good time 2 , Australia, Sep 2013
This was the first overseas tour or trip I have taken. I travelled alone from Sydney to London and went on two coach trips. Globus and Trafalgar. So I had a very good time. I must say in my opinion the Globus tour was the most informative with information, Trafalgar was a whole lot different. At first I could not get the change, but I got used to the read more lack of information an settled back to enjoy the tour.
Fantastic holiday 2 , Australia, May 2012
Everything that was promised was delivered. Our tour director Julian Cleary was amazing. His knowledge of history was outstanding. We were all treated with respect & dignity. As for Mark, the coach driver, wow, he could manoeuvre that bus anywhere. The only dampener we had was that both of us ended up with the flu, but we were well looked after!
Magnificent tour 2 , Australia, May 2012
Well organized, great tour director, would definitely travel with him again. His knowledge patience & great sense of humour were incredible. The coach driver was amazing his knowledge of roads & streets was incredible. Magnificent would & have recommend Global Journeys to our friends. Hope to do a European adventure in the not to distant future.
Tour Guide was a Walking Encyclopedia 6 , Australia, Sep 2011
We undertook two tours, this review relates to our Globus tour of the UK which was excellent, and the help I received from Yvonne at Global Journeys was superb. On this tour we were extremely fortunate to have Jim Lemmon as our Tour Guide. He was well organised, very helpful and pleasant at all times, and he was a 'Walking Encyclopedia'. He managed read more to link all the regions, towns and buildings etc to their interwoven history in a most enjoyable way. His little 'asides' and bits of history and knowledge were most entertaining. Tony the Irish bus driver was also extremely confident and competent in his driving, and was amazing to watch as he easily negotiated the narow difficult roads and parking spots. The two had obviously worked together often and had a friendly and entertaining repartee for us about the locations etc. They were both most enjoyable. The small detours/alternate routes were most worthwhile as was Jims selection of entertainment and places to visit at the various stops.

The group was large - possibly too large at 44 for a top quality tour, so that it was difficult to get to know everyone, and to easily move around. The first coach we had was quite good, but when it went in for servicing in Ireland, the replacement had quite a noisy engine etc. which made sitting near the rear a bit 'tiring', and the next coach we got had many seats that would not recline which was annoying. We saw a huge amount of fantastic places in the 17 days, but it was extremely 'busy' (as I expected), so that the duration of 17 days was definitely a maximum to do before exhaustion set in. It was more enjoyable when we had two nights in the one spot, so that packing up was reduced (and the washing could be completed). There were a few days where we had to travel long distances, but these needed a stop at something of interest to break up the journeys rather than the uninspiring truckstops. The first of these was between York and Hadrians Wall, the second was from Pembrooke to Newport (a very boring day following the very long ferry ride), the third was from Plymouth to Stonehenge, and the fourth was from Salisbury to London.

We were lucky with the weather, and all the spots we toured/visited were very interesting and great value, and should not be missed. Perhaps the only let-down was the entertainment in Edinbrough, and the hotel there. Otherwise the accomodation and included meals were generally top value - except for the Glascow hotel where the buffet kept running out of food courses. There were so many excellent highlights of this tour it is difficult to list them all, suffice to say that none should be missed. Overall, these minor negatives were overcome by the excellent service and amazing and historic places we were guided through with some fantastic detailed commentary. The detailed tour information, patient guidance and help from Yvonne Brooks from Global Journeys was fantastic, and she made our first time overseas trip a hassle-free experience. (GJ: Review split over the two tours taken.)
